Sage and Ryo leaned forward as they blinked in surprise. "Whoa, wait a minute. Back it up. So, what Kento's father told us at the restaurant about Sana is true? Plus, she's holding Kaye somewhere as insurance to keep Kento in line?"

Rowen nodded, "Sums it up, yes."

Sage frowned when he thought over what Rowen and Cye told them. "This, Ammon, what's your take on him?"

Rowen glanced at Cye staring out the window. They could see he was having a hard time dealing. He looked back at Sage and Ryo. "Hard to tell for sure. But from what we can figure, Ammon has a major grudge against his mother. Sana killed Ammon's father. So he wants revenge, but he's not sure how to go about it."

"He's scared of her," Cye said as he continued to watch out the window. "No, I take it back. He's not scared of her. He's scared of what she'll do to him if she found out he's going behind her back and trying to pull off whatever he has in mind."

Ryo looked over at Cye, "So you believe it's why he reached out to us?"

Rowen frowned a bit when Cye went quiet again, "We think so. He knew everything about our armors. Ammon knew everything about our battles with Talpa and the others who crossed our paths over the years. He was right on with everything. We were careful about getting as much footage erased as we could, but it looks like somehow we missed some."

"Ammon sounds like he's highly resourceful. But the question is now, can we trust him? If we work with Ammon, how do we know he's not stringing us along? How do we know he won't turn on us in the end?" Sage asked as he glanced at the others.

"We don't know. I'm not sure how I feel about Ammon. My virtue feels off about him. It feels like he's holding something from us, and he won't say." Cye responded with a deep frown. "I don't care what he's hiding. All I care about right now is helping get Kento out of his mess and getting my sister back."

Ryo rose to his feet and walked over to him, "Cye, we'll fix this and get them back safe and sound. You know we will. We've been up against the worst odds and still came out on top."

Cye's frown deepened, "But at what cost, Ryo? What are we going to lose in this? What are they?"

Ryo started to reach out towards him but stop in mid-action, "We don't know. But all we can do now, I know you don't want to hear this, but all we can do are to watch and wait for our opening."

Cye whirled around and glared at him, "We don't know what'll happen while we're waiting. No one but Ammon and Sana knows Kaye's location, and they're not telling. We need to find my sister!"

"We will find Kaye, Cye. You need to hold onto knowing we'll find her." Sage stated with a nod.

Cye glanced at him, "How Sage? We don't even know where to start looking!"

Sage didn't flinch from Cye's outburst, "If Sana is as dangerous and twisted as we are coming to believe. Then she would more likely keep Kaye close. Somewhere Sana could keep tabs on her. Sana believes she has all the power right now. Let's let her keep thinking she does."

"Come on, Sage!" Cye started to object.

"Hold on, Cye, she doesn't know Kento's parents informed us about the Jade Thorns. I can do a deep dive and find out more about them. Plus, I'll see what I can find out about the mansion she has them living in at the moment. I'll check to see if I can find blueprints of the place. They could give us a better idea of the layout." Rowen suggested rising to his feet and walking to his computer.

"See, Cye, there we have a game plan in play. We understand how hard this is for you right now. But it's hard for Kento too. Think for a moment how Kento feels. Since Sana threatened his family and us, Kento is in an impossible situation. He needs to know we're there for him too." Ryo reminded him.

Cye studied Ryo. He knew he was right. They had to be rational, but it was hard because it hit too close to home for him. He and Kaye were starting to become closer as a family. Even though they found out being brother and sister a few years ago, they still have a lot to know about one another. Cye closed his eyes as he rubbed his temples.

Ryo looked at him in concern, "Cye?"

He opened his eyes and lowered his hands, "I'll be fine, Ryo. I feel a headache coming on, is all. I'm going to go and lay down for a while."

Rowen glanced from his computer, "Alright, Cye, as soon as I find what I'm looking for, I'll let you know."

Cye nodded and then waved as he headed to the stairs and climbed up to his room.

Once Ryo, Sage, and Rowen heard Cye's door closed, they looked at one another.

"Think he'll be alright?" Rowen asked as he sat back down.

"Right now, I think Cye needs time to himself. He'll be fine once he gets some rest. We can check on him later." Ryo suggested.

Sage frowned, "I hope Cye doesn't do anything rash."

Ryo raised a brow towards him, "Come on, Sage. It is Cye we're talking about, not Kento."

"I know, Ryo. But this time, this situation feels different from the others we faced. I'm not sure how to describe it."

"Are you thinking he's going to go off on his own?"

Sage shrugged, "Could be possible. If we were in his shoes, wouldn't the rest of us do the same?"

Ryo frowned as he looked up towards the stairs. Sage did have a point. But he trusted Cye to do the right thing and wait until they had a better handle of the situation instead of going headfirst into an unknown situation.

Cye laid down on his bed as he stared at the ceiling. He had to get away from the others. Cye knew they had his best interest at heart, but they weren't the ones with family on the line. He winced when his head started to pound. Cye clutched the sides of his head as he curled up in a ball.

'You're going to lay here and let things happen? For all you know, your sister could be getting tortured.' A female voice whispered.

'Who are you? Why are you in my head? How do you know about Kaye? Do you know where my sister is?'

A laugh echoed in his head, 'Who I am is not relevant at the moment. You'll find out in due time. To my reason of why I'm in your head is not for you to know either. I know much, Cye of the Torrent. The location of your sister, maybe.'

'Tell me! Where is Kaye? What is happening to her?'

Another laughed echoed, 'Patience, everything you need to know, you'll find out soon enough. The assassin's son, he's the key.'

'Ammon? What do you mean?'

'Come now, Torrent, think. Ammon was the one who contacted your friend and met with the two of you earlier this evening. He was the one to have shown you the video of your sister.'

'Wait! How do you know?'

'I was there, of course.'

'I don't understand, Rowen, and I didn't see anyone else around. It was the three of us until Sage and Ryo found us after the meet.'

'One does not have to be somewhere physically to know what is going on. Intelligence gathering can be on multiple levels. You should realize this after everything all of you have experienced in your lives with your mystical armors.'

'How can I trust what you say is true?'

'Are you willing to risk everything not to trust me? Besides, your friends downstairs believe you'll go out on your own and try to do something crazy like taking on the Jade Thorns. You can't tell me the notion didn't cross your mind. Because I'll know you're lying if you told me otherwise.'

'Stop it! Get out of my head! Leave me alone!'

Laughter echoed once more in Cye's head, 'Fine, I'll leave you for now, but I'll be back before you know it. You better ask for my help. You're nowhere ready to take on Sana as you are now.'

'Shut up! You're wrong! You'll see! We'll find my sister as well as help Kento to get out from under Sana. The Jade Thorns will pay for what they've done!'

'I guess time will tell. So, in the meantime, I'll abide by your request for me to leave. But, I will return. Count on it.'

Cye's eyes shot open when he felt the presence leave him. His hands lowered from his head. A deep frown creased his face, confusion set in as he readjusted himself on his bed. Who was the female voice in his head? Why was she taunting him? Nothing about what happened made any sense. Cye started to wonder if he should talk with the others about what happened. No, he couldn't bring himself to discuss this with them. At least, not yet. Cye figured sleep was the better option.

At the mansion, Ammon glanced up from his device when he saw Kento approach. He turned his back to him before Kento could say anything and lead him down the corridor.

Kento frowned a bit at Ammon's frosty reception, but he didn't care. He was on his way to see his beloved. 'I'd rather have Ammon take me to the room Kaye is in, but I guess I'll have to settle for what I can get for now.'

On the way to the viewing room, the talk with Cye and Rowen came back to Ammon. He frowned a bit and started to wonder if making contact with them was a good idea. But how else was he going to go against his mother if he couldn't have allies of some kind? He knew the corridor they were in could be listened in on from the control room. So Ammon didn't risk telling Kento about meeting up with two of his friends. "You and your so-called best friend made one heck of an impression during the party."

Kento raised a brow, "You mean the fight Cye and I had? Yeah, well, he's pissed. Can't say I blame the guy."

The cold reply Ammon received from Kento was not expected. He shook it off as they continued down the corridor. "Though the look on my mother's face was priceless."

Kento smirked a bit. He was surprised to be amused by Ammon's statement. Then again, the kid had no love for his so-called mother. Considering what she put him through, he didn't blame him. "What business did Sana need to do since she sent you to guide me to the viewing room?"

"Don't know, don't care. My mother doesn't tell me every little detail in her life. Case in point." Ammon shot back as they made it to the end of the corridor. He had the control panel open, and then it revealed the keypad. Ammon typed in the code to grant Kento access. Moving out of the way, he let Kento pass him. "She'll join you soon enough."

Kento entered the room, and before he could say anything, the door whooshed shut behind him. He frowned and then shook his head. Kento was still having a little trouble figuring this kid out. Right now, Ammon wasn't a priority. Kento turned around and saw two chairs in front of the screen, which showed Kaye's room. He frowned, 'Two chairs? These weren't here before.'

Kento shook the confusion off and walked over to Kaye's screen. He looked closer and saw Sana and three others surrounding Kaye's sleeping form. He felt his heart race. What was Sana planning to do in there? Kento hurried over to the button and pressed for the speaker. "Sana! What's the meaning of this?!"

Sana glanced up at the camera, "Kento, good you arrived. Don't worry. It won't be but a moment. I'm allowing my private assassins to bring your angel out of her suspended animation. Then I'll join you. I have a surprise."

Kento growled as he clenched his fists, "I'm starting to hate your surprises, Sana."

A menacing grin spread across her face, "I'm sure you'll like this one. But if you don't, I know I will." She turned her attention back towards her three assassins and nodded.

The three took their positions and raised their hands. Palms facing Kaye's form as they started to chant. When they finished, the three bowed to Sana.

Sana studied Kaye. She could see the Nephilim started to come around. Sana told them she was ready to leave.

The three assassins moved away from Kaye's form and encircled Sana. One moment the four of them were there, and the next, the only one in the room was Kaye. Sana reappeared with her three assassins in the viewing room with Kento. Sana dismissed them, leaving her and Kento alone.

Sana walked to one of the chairs and sat. She looked over at Kento, "Come, sit."

Kento narrowed his eyes at her and then complied since he had no other choice. He turned his attention to the screen when he watched Kaye regaining consciousness.
