It didn't take long for Kento and Ammon to climb into the helicopter. Kento glanced at him, "Are you positive you know how to fly this thing?"
Ammon did his final check and started it up, "Yeah, I'm sure. It isn't my first time flying. Now, hang on!" He shouted as the engine roared to life, and they took off flying towards the city.
Kento glimpsed over the side and saw the mansion shrinking behind them. He turned his attention towards the kid. "Do you have any idea where they are?"
"Your friends are with your parents at the restaurant. I checked my security feed to make sure before we left." Ammon shouted at him as he kept his focus on flying. "We won't be able to land close to the restaurant. Instead, we'll have to land a few blocks over and either catch a cab or run like crazy."
"You get us as close as you can, and after we land, I'll take care of the rest," Kento shouted back as he looked ahead and saw the city coming into view. 'Hang on, Kaye, I'll get you back, I promise.' Kento turned his attention towards Ammon, "Any idea where the other assassins disappeared?"
"My guess, since Sana has entered the next phase of her crazy scheme. They're at the armories getting their weapons, and then they'll go back to the mansion once they're armed." Ammon shouted as they were getting closer.
"So they're already expecting a fight," Kento saw him nod, "Good, me too. I'm more than ready to kick ass!"
Ammon smirked a bit as he looked over and saw the landing pad he wanted. He maneuvered towards it and started his landing procedures. Ammon lowered the helicopter. It rocked a little when the chopper touched down then stabilized. He shut it down and took off his helmet. Ammon motioned for Kento to do the same.
Kento took off his helmet, and the two got out and hurried over to the roof access door. He willed his sub armor and then wretched the door open.
Ammon blinked when he witnessed Kento wretch the door open. He remembered seeing how strong Kento was on video, but to see how strong he is in real life, well, wow.
"Heh, yeah, this is nothing compared to when we're in full armor. Now, come on, we're wasting time." Kento replied as he darted through.
Ammon raced after the orange Ronin. He was impressed by how much agility Kento has. But then why should he be surprised. He trained all his life and having mystical armor more likely doesn't hurt either. But Ammon was no slouch either. He was able to keep up with the orange Ronin to the main floor.
Kento shot Ammon a bit of a smirk, "Not bad, kid. Think you can keep up with me?"
"I'll be fine. Let's go. We're wasting time," Ammon replied as he followed Kento as close as he could on their run to the restaurant.
Ryo, Cye, Sage, and Rowen glanced at one another as they felt the kanji on their foreheads glow a bit. The four glanced at Kento's parents. The two were seated at one of the tables in the middle of a conversation. The four Ronins stepped outside.
"What's going on for our kanji to go off as they did." Cye asked with a slight frown, "You don't think..."
"Hard to know for sure. But we do know Kento is coming this way. He must be in a hurry because the bond is getting stronger." Sage answered.
Rowen glanced around and jumped on top of a roof of a truck, "Hey, I can see him, and he's in his sub armor. Ammon is following him." He dropped to the sidewalk.
Cye blinked, "Why would Kento be in his sub armor racing towards us?"
"Whatever his reason, it's going to be urgent," Ryo replied as he saw Kento and Ammon approach them.
Kento skidded to a stop. He started to collect himself, "Gomen... Guys, we need to talk. Ma and Pa inside?"
"Yeah, Kento, what's this about," Rowen asked as he saw him staying in his sub armor.
"We don't have much time, and I have a lot to tell you. But I need my parents to hear this too. It's important." Kento started to explain as he willed back his sub armor. He reached for the door and went inside.
The others glanced around at one another and then followed after Kento. They saw their friend already talking to his parents. The five walked over and joined them.
Kento saw everyone was together and waited until they were seated, "Alright, what I'm going to tell you, it might be hard to believe, but Ammon can prove what I tell you."
"Kento..." Mr. Rei Faun started to say.
"Please, let me explain. You have to listen to the whole story. Alright, it all started with the training trip to China." Kento started to explain. He told them about going to sleep on the plane and then waking up in a caged cell in an underground compound somewhere in China. Kento was telling them Sana revealed herself as the one who set up the whole thing to get him there. "Sana threatened to kill all of you if I didn't agree to the marriage."
Ammon nodded as he brought up the live feeds on his device and turned it around, so the rest could see. "It's true, Sana was going to carry out her threat of the hits. But for her not to carry them out, she forced Kento to marry her. After the ceremony, she sent out her private assassins to follow Kaye as she left the airport when she was supposed to pick up Kento. Their orders were to bring Kaye back to the mansion to an underground room."
Cye looked between Kento and Ammon in surprise, "Why? What was Sana's reason to have kidnapped my sister?"
Kento closed his eyes and clenched his fists, "To use her as an insurance policy, so I would stay loyal and obedient to her." He opened his eyes and looked over at his best friend. "I'm so sorry, Cye."
"We figured something was wrong, Kento, especially when you came to visit us at the restaurant. You mentioned Uncle Shen. It triggered Pa's memory of his brother and the time in Shigong. Pa and I called your friends, and he informed them about what happened back then." Mrs. Rei Faun responded as she looked towards her son.
"Wait, so you guys figured something was up and didn't ask me about it?" Kento asked in slight confusion.
"We didn't have a chance to Kento. Sana kept a pretty tight leash on you, plus we got the rest of the picture after we met up with Ammon during the house-warming party. He sent me a text to meet him. So it's why Cye staged the fight with you. Then we'd be able to talk with him without Sana knowing." Rowen explained.
Kento was taking this in as much as the others were taking in his story. He looked over at Ammon, "So you were working with them, and you didn't bother to think of telling me?"
Ammon looked at him apologetically, "Gomen, but I had a part to play. I figured it would be easier this way. Besides, it was hard to get you alone with Sana by your side pretty much every day."
"So, is Sana still holding Kaye hostage," Cye asked when he looked over at Ammon.
He nodded, "Yes, we need to hurry and get back to the mansion. Sana is getting things ready for the next part of her scheme." Ammon replied as he put away his device.
Kento shook his head, "Ammon, I need for you to stay here with my parents. The guys and I are going to get Kaye from Sana. Then we'll take her down."
Ammon looked at him in angered surprise, "What? No way am I going to miss this! I'm going too! You can't stop me!"
"Yes, I can. I'll knock you out if I have to, Ammon. What I have in mind is important. I need for you to watch over my parents and make sure they stay safe while the rest of us are fighting the Jade Thorns." Kento replied with a serious expression.
Mr. and Mrs. Rei Faun glanced at one another in surprise and then turned their attention towards their son. "Kento, it's too dangerous for you and your friends to go against those assassins on your own. Call in the authorities."
Kento shook his head, "Pa, Ma, we know what we're doing, and I promise I'll explain later when it's all over. I need the two of you to trust me. Please..."
Kento's parents could see the seriousness and determination in their son's eyes. They looked at one another and then back at him. The two nodded, "We trust you, Kento. You never gave us a real reason not to. Deep down, we never doubted you."
Kento smiled at them, "Thanks. I appreciate the both of you supporting my decision in this."
"Bring Kaye and yourselves back safe. Then, when it's all said and done, we will have an extremely long talk."
"Yes, Pa," Kento answered. Then he turned to his friends. "You guys ready?"
The five of them rose from the table and nodded to the three who were going to stay behind. The Ronins hurried to the door and raced down the sidewalk. Once they were far enough away, they willed their sub armors and kicked it up even more.
"Kento, you're putting a lot of trust into Ammon to watch over your parents," Cye said as he raced alongside him.
"I know, Cye, Ammon is a kid who has a messed up life. I thought this would give him a chance to see what it's like to have a decent life." Kento answered. "Besides, if he tried anything, my parents can kick his ass."
Cye smirked as the five of them continued on their way to Sana's mansion. "Any idea where Kaye might be underground or were you going to bash your way around until you found her?"
"I thought after we find a way inside. I could get us to a computer inside, and Rowen could hack the system. He might be able to find her quicker using a computer since they are all connected." Kento explained.
Rowen blinked in surprise, "A solid plan? Seriously, from Kento?"
"Hey! Watch it, blue boy! I can come up with a plan if I need to, you know." Kento shot back in slight annoyance. Then he frowned when he got a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. Kento stopped and looked back towards the direction of his family's restaurant.
"Kento," Sage asked when he and the others stopped as well.
"Something's wrong. We need to go back," Kento replied as he took off towards the restaurant.
Cye, Ryo, Rowen, and Sage glanced and one another and nodded as they followed Kento back.
At the Rei Faun restaurant, Ammon started to pace the floor. It wasn't fair! Kento and the other Ronins were going to go and fight Sana and the Jade Thorns. Ammon wanted to and fight them too, but instead, he got stuck playing bodyguard.
"Ammon, if you're hungry, you can help yourself to whatever you can find in the kitchen. I'm sure there's plenty to eat. We started stocking not too long ago." Mrs. Rei Faun offered as she looked over at him.
He sighed, "I'm good, I'm not..." But then he was cut off when he heard his stomach growl. Ammon blushed a bit as he looked down at the floor.
"Go ahead. It's alright." Mr. Rei Faun encouraged as he glanced over at his wife.
"I couldn't," Ammon started to object when he glanced up towards them.
"We wouldn't offer if we didn't mind. Go on, but if you need help finding anything in the kitchen, let us know, and we'll help you find it." Mrs. Rei Faun answered as she smiled at him.
Ammon smiled back with a nod. He hurried back towards the kitchen.
Mr. Rei Faun chuckled, "He seems like a good kid."
"I think so too. Kento usually has good instincts about people, well, most of the time." Mrs. Rei Faun laughed as the two of them moved around the main room of the restaurant.
