A few days passed, Ammon stayed with the Ronins until he got things settled. He sat out back on the porch with his laptop open and staring out towards the lake. He heard footsteps behind him. Ammon didn't have to look. "Kento."

The orange Ronin stopped as he blinked. He shook his head in slight amusement as he walked to the chair on the other side. "What are you doing out here by yourself?"

"Thinking mostly. I figured out what I'm going to do with my life."

Kento raised a brow as he glanced at him, "Oh?"

Ammon nodded, "I'm going back to China. I've decided to start my security company. So then I'd be able to keep an eye on the Jade Thorns to make sure they follow the orders you gave them before you kicked them out of Japan."

"Ammon, you don't have to," Kento started to object.

"I know I don't have to, Kento. I want to. I feel it's my responsibility, kind of penance, to make up for the suffering my mother put people through."

Kento frowned a bit, "But you weren't responsible for what your mother did to people."

Ammon glanced at him from the corner of his eye, "I realize the same thing. But I hurt people too. I took money from the ones who needed it. I didn't care who they were. I'm not proud of what I did. Furthermore, I'm planning on paying everyone back. It'll take time, but I'll get it done."

He couldn't believe what Ammon told him. The kid stole money? Kento should have figured Ammon went down the wrong path in some way or form, but at least he didn't..."Ammon, I hate to ask but have you ever?"

Ammon turned his entire focus forward. A slow frown started to crease his face as he closed his eyes and sighed. Ammon waited until he opened them again, "Yes, to answer your question. I have taken a life. It wasn't one of my proudest moments. For a long time, I had nightmares. Mother could see I was having a hard time accepting what I did. She believed I was weak. So, I decided to show her I had other talents to offer instead of killing. I guess hacking into peoples' accounts and being able to pick up how today's world works with technology was enough to change her mind about not having me killed."

Kento wasn't sure what to say after hearing what Ammon said. The two sat in silence for a while. His heart went out to the kid. Growing up in an environment as he did was not something anyone should have to experience. It wasn't right. "Ammon, when you arrive in China, are you going to give yourself up to the authorities for stealing?"

Ammon glanced at him, "I thought about the same question. At first, I wasn't going to because I did it under a pseudo name. No one would have been able to figure out it was me." He saw Kento was about to say something and shook his head. "I thought about it again, and I realized if I want real redemption, I will have to turn myself over to the authorities. I know it won't be easy, but it's the right thing to do. It's what my father would want. Then after I serve my time, I'll start on my life."

"It might be a long time before the authorities release you. I'm not sure if it'll help, but maybe Kaye and I could say something on your behalf? Or even the guys too?"

Ammon shook his head, "There's no need for any of you to testify on my behalf. I was the one who dug this hole, and I need to be the one to climb out on my own. I'm young enough to have a fresh start after incarceration."

Kento studied Ammon as he could see there was no way this kid will change his mind. He smirked a bit, "Alright, fine. But when you have access to a computer, send an email or something. Then we'll know how you're doing."

Ammon raised a brow as he turned his attention towards him. "You know how to use a computer?"

He scowled at him as he punched Ammon on the shoulder. "Hey! I'm not old, old. I do know how to use a computer smart guy."

Ammon laughed as he put his hands up in surrender. "Ok. Ok, I believe you." He rubbed his shoulder and then decided to switch subjects. "So, how has it been going filling in your parents about the whole mystical armor going?"

"At first, it was a little hard to figure out where to start. But once I got going, my parents began to ask more questions. I was a bit surprised when they wanted to know more about everything we endured. From the first time, we donned the armors up to now. They know how important it is to keep this from the rest of the family. I didn't have to ask. They know it's important to stay quiet about what I told them. It's for their safety as well as anyone else who would find out. Though, my parents know I feel guilty about having them keep such a secret."

Ammon thought over what Kento said, "You're lucky to have grown up with parents like yours."

Kento nodded, "Yeah, I guess I am. Ammon, with everything, you can reach out to me whenever you need to."

He smiled at him, "Thanks, I appreciate it. I'll keep your offer in mind. But for the moment, I need to experience life on my own for a while. Find a balance. How about when I do, I'll invite all of you to wherever I end up?"

Kento smiled back, "Deal."

"Good, speaking of the guys. How are things working out between you?"

"The others and I have had our friendships tested time and time again. There were times when we weren't sure if we were still going to be friends at all. But then we realized our bond with one another is strong, and we can get through whatever comes our way. The bond we share becomes stronger as if we're family. This time around, though, it was the hardest one we had to overcome. But we're making it work." Kento explained to him, but he could tell Ammon held back the real question he wanted to ask. "Go ahead and ask Ammon."

He was a bit surprised but nodded, "How are things with Kaye?"

Kento leaned back in his chair, "Kaye is still healing. She's strong, but I think this time, it's going to take a little longer. Sage did what he could to heal where Sana sliced off Kaye's wings. But she says the scars are still visible on her shoulder blades. What Sana put Kaye through, I think it affected her a lot more than she's letting on."

"Has Kaye talked to anyone about this? The guys, Cye, since he's her brother after all? You?"

Kento sighed, "Some, she's taking her time talking about it. I'm not sure if she's trying to figure things out or what the deal is. We're not pushing her into talking if she's not ready. We figure when Kaye's willing, she will. It would be the same for the rest of us. All of us have been together for a long time. We fought with one another and know when we want to talk or need time."

"The two of you are still together, right?"

Kento blinked, "Together? Do you mean? Oh, well yeah, of course, we are still together. It might take some work to get back where we were before this whole thing started, but we'll get there. Deep down, I know we are and forever destined to be together. Kaye makes me feel things I never felt before. Good things, I mean. I can't imagine my life without her in it. She means everything to me."

"Have you talked to her about how you feel? Especially now? It might help Kaye to know how much you think of her."

Kento rubbed the back of his head, "I'm not much for words type of guy. But we do tell one another we love each other."

"I'm sure you do. But it's not what I'm talking about, Kento. I think Kaye needs to know what's deep down in your heart of hearts. It might help her with the healing process."

He lowered his hand and blinked at him, "How do you know so much about relationships?"

Ammon smirked, "I've had a few in my time." He reached into his pocket and pulled something from it. "Here, I believe this is Kaye's." He stretched towards Kento and placed it in his hand, and then pulled it back. "I found it in one of my mother's hiding places.

Kento looked at what Ammon gave him and smiled as he recognized it. "Kaye's orb. Thanks, Ammon."

"Welcome," Ammon rose to his feet and stretched. "Well, I, suppose, I better get going to the airport. My flight is going to be boarding in a couple of hours."

"Wait, you were leaving already?"

"Well, yeah. What? You thought I was going to hang around for a while? I said my goodbyes to the guys and Kaye. I was waiting for you to come out here, so we could have one more one-on-one before I left."

Kento stood, "Ammon..."

He shook his head, "You don't need to say anything. Go and have your talk with Kaye. If she is as important to you as you tell me, then go and talk to her now. You can thank me later." Ammon smiled as he nodded and then walked around to the driveway, where a taxi arrived. He saw Kento follow him. Ammon nodded and entered the back of the cab as he rode to the airport.

Kento waited until Ammon was out of sight before he headed back inside the manor. Their conversation still played in his head. He didn't hear Cye approach.

"Hey Kento, Ammon left?"

"Huh? Oh Cye, yeah." Kento replied.

Cye frowned a bit, "Kento?"

"Hm?"

"Are you ok?"

"Yeah, I have a lot on my mind, is all. Cye, you and me, we're good?" Kento asked in a bit of concern.

Cye nodded, "Sure, we're good. Oh, I see you want to make sure we're good because you're in a relationship with my sister."

"Yes, but also because we're best friends too. I didn't mean or want to hurt anyone. But Sana threatened my family, you, the others, Kaye. I was in a corner."

Cye studied him, "Kento, relax. We understand. But beating yourself up like this won't help you heal from what you went through too. Even ask Ryo. The self-blame will hurt you even more in the long run. You have to search for forgiveness for yourself. Otherwise, how are you going to accept it from the rest of us?"

Kento thought about what he said, "I guess it makes sense. Thanks, Cye."

Cye grinned, "Any time. But I'm going to tell you now, Kento. If you ever put Kaye through something like this ever again," His eyes flickered red for a split second. "I'll make your life a living hell."

Kento, surprised by what Cye said he was taken aback for a moment but then recovered. "Ah, yeah, understood."

Cye grinned with a nod, "Good, speaking of my sister. She has barely come out of her room. Each one of us has tried to have her join us for something, but she refuses. We even tried to see if she would let us in her room. She won't and only holds the door partially open. We're concerned, Kento."

"I was on my way to see if she would talk with me. Maybe, I can get her to come outside for a bit." Kento replied, "She could probably use the fresh air since she's been in her room for a few days."

Cye nodded, "Thanks. I appreciate you trying. Well, good luck!" He waved and walked away from him.

'When was Cye able to turn his eyes red? I've seen him pissed off before, but this was different. Not even when we fought with one another in Sana's mansion did his eyes flash red. Maybe it was nothing. No one else noticed it before either. Because if they did, then someone would have said something by now. It could be my overactive imagination. At least, I hope so.' Kento thought to himself as he shook it off and was making his way through the living room. He waved to the others and then climbed the stairs.
