Kento felt Kaye starting to shake. He looked over at Talia, "Can Kaye have time to think about your offer?"

Talia studied the couple and nodded, "I don't see why not. It's a reasonable request. How much time do you need?"

"I... I don't know." Kaye replied as she glanced up towards Kento.

"Why don't you contact me when you have a decision. But be quick. It will be a one-time offer." Talia responded as she materialized a talisman and presented it to them. "This is how you can get a hold of me. All you need to do is say my name. I'll appear." Talia said as she vanished.

Kaye looked at the talisman which laid in her hand.

"Kaye?" Cye asked as he looked towards her in concern.

"I don't know, Cye, what to think. Do you trust her?" Kaye asked back.

Cye frowned a bit as he thought about what Talia told them. "After everything, I don't know what to think or believe."

Sage glanced at everyone, "Emotions are running high right now. Let's take some time, and then we'll discuss it later. Fair enough?"

"Sounds good to me. I'm going to need some time on the computer to see what I can find." Rowen replied with a nod.

"We'll leave the two of you alone," Ryo told them as he turned around and went back into the manor. Cye, Sage, and Rowen followed.

Kento felt his heart constrict for her. Here they were on the road to healing themselves and their relationship. Now out of nowhere, another Nephilim arrives and tells them her news. "Kaye?"

"Kento, I don't know how much I can take. Haven't we been through enough?" Kaye asked as she felt herself tear up. "I'm so confused now."

"Don't you want your wings back?" Kento asked as he gently eased Kaye to the ground with him. He leaned up against a tree as he held her to him.

"I thought it didn't matter to you if I had wings or not," Kaye replied as she gripped the talisman.

"It doesn't. Your happiness is what matters to me. I can see you're miserable without your wings."

Kaye glanced back at him, "I can get used to not having wings again. I didn't have them for long after we found out I did in the first place. How can I miss something I haven't had?"

"Kaye, I can only imagine what it was like for you when Sana cut off your wings. I saw the sadness and emptiness in your eyes when we saw your wings hit the ground with your blood. I was so enraged when it happened. I lost control, and I lost myself. Furthermore, I didn't care who was in the room, I went berserk, and I was going to kill everyone in there. In the end, it's what Sana wanted. She wanted me to sacrifice my parents, you, and her assassins to prove a point. I realized her madness after I took Sana's life. I chose to take her life because I wanted to. The time I spent with Sana and the Jade Thorns was turning my soul black. So what she did to you pushed me past the brink."

"So, are you saying it's my fault?" Kaye asked with a shaky voice.

Kento shook his head, "No, Kaye, I'm not saying such a thing."

"What are you saying then?"

"My point, Sana was the one who put us in such a position. Sana was the one who played the entire thing from start to finish. Which also has me wondering something else."

"What?"

"How did Sana and her three assassins gain their powers in the first place? Ammon said it was a while ago when he was out on a mission. But he never found out how they were able to pull it off."

Kaye thought over what Kento said, "Makes sense. Do you think they ran across a demon or something which promised them power if they delivered something else on their end?"

"It would explain how a regular human would be able to gain powers as she and her assassins possessed." Kento looked up towards the branches and studied the sky through them. He then looked back down upon the woman he loved with all of his heart and soul holding in his arms. The decision Kaye had to make was going to be one of the most challenging decisions she would have to make.

"I don't think I should make this decision alone. It's going to affect everyone. Plus, I have this weird feeling Talia is holding something else back from us. When I mentioned my memory, Talia seemed guilty for some reason. I would like to know why before making my decision."

Kento frowned as he hugged her, "Why would she feel guilt?"

Kaye shook her head, "No idea. It is why I believe we need to know more. She's the only one who can explain everything."

"But the question is, will she tell us?" Kento asked as he continued to comfort her.

Kaye sighed, "Kento, with all the roller coaster of emotions going on, think we can go and lay down for a while? I'm starting to get tired."

He looked down at her with a raised brow, "We? As in, you and me, laying down?"

Kaye laughed, "Yes, how else did you think I meant it?"

"Ah, never mind," Kento replied with a chuckle, "Ok, here we go." He got his feet under them and secured his hold on her. "Hang on," Kento then launched from the ground. The two of them were in mid-air, and then he somersaulted forward with her in his arms as he landed on his feet with no problem.

"You are so lucky I have a strong stomach. I almost lost my lunch when you flipped us as you did." Kaye glanced back at him as he let go after making sure she was stable on her feet. "Where or who did you learn the move from anyway?"

Kento smirked like a cat who got the canary. "I'll tell you someday. But right now, I'm starting to agree with you about laying down."

Kaye smiled at him and then started on her way back inside the manor with Kento walking next to her. On their way to the stairs, she stopped and laid the talisman on the desk. "Here, Rowen, this might help you look what you're searching. It might give you at least a starting point. Kento and I are going to lay down for a while."

Rowen raised a brow towards them, "Lay down, come on?"

"Come on, man, get your head out of the gutter. Sheesh, and I thought you were the sensible one." Kento joked as he and Kaye ran up the stairs before Rowen could get out of his seat.

Rowen blinked as he shrugged with a smirk, "Can't blame a guy for trying."

Cye shook his head, "When it comes to your turn to find someone. Don't think he won't try and get back at you for what you were insinuating."

Rowen leaned up on the computer, "I'm surprised you have complete trust in Kento, after everything."

Cye shrugged, "Of course I do. We came to an understanding, and it's all I'm going to say on the matter."

Rowen studied Cye and then plopped back behind the computer. He stared at the talisman to see where he could go to get a start on this. 'It's going to take longer than I thought. Oh well, might as well get started.'

Kento walked Kaye to her door, "Well, I guess this is where we part ways."

Kaye grabbed his hand, "Actually, would you um," Starting to turn extremely red, "stay and lay with me?"

Kento squeezed her hand in return, "Sure, if it's what you want."

She smiled at him with a nod, "Yes. Please. Stay with me."

Kento smiled back, "Since you asked, then, yes. I'll stay with you." The two of them walked into Kaye's room and the door shut behind them.

Kaye climbed into bed. Then slid over to make room for him. She saw Kento smirk as he waited for her to lay down on her side.

He remained until she was comfortable, and then Kento climbed in next to her and laid down on his back. Kento felt Kaye shift closer to him as she laid her head upon his chest. He smiled as he looked down and then brought his arm over her. The two of them snuggled a bit closer and then fell asleep.

Further, into sleep, Kaye started to dream, 'Odd, I haven't dream walked in a long time. I wonder why, oh wait, this is the place between dreams. No wonder I'm thrown off.' She continued to walk her way through until a white mist rolled in from different directions. Kaye stopped as it felt strangely cold, and she didn't understand why. There were no buildings, no landscaping to be seen, only the mist. Then she felt something. It was hard to know for sure what. 'Alright, whoever is here with me better show themselves otherwise, I'm out of this crazy place.'

'Not bad, a little rusty, but still impressive enough to me.'

Kaye frowned as the voice came at her from all directions. 'I don't do all talk no show. So unless you have something important to talk with me about, show yourself.'

'If you insist,' A flash of light went off, and Talia appeared in front of her.

Kaye crossed her arms, 'I didn't realize you could dream walk.'

Talia smiled a little, 'Some can. Not all.'

'You are a bit cryptic, Talia.'

'I apologize, Kaye. I'm betting you want to know why I chose to meet you here instead of with everyone else.'

'Right on the first guess. I didn't call you because I haven't made up my mind yet.'

'You have more questions for me.'

'Ooh, right again, wow, you're good at this.'

'Alright, I can detect sarcasm as much as anyone. Not my favorite tone to use, but I can deal with it.' Talia replied. 'So, what is it?'

'When I mentioned I don't remember much from my past life. You looked guilty. Why?' Kaye asked as she studied her.

'Right to the question. Fair enough, the council and I met with a psychic of sorts. This psychic foretold something to happen. If we believed this psychic or not is still up for debate among the council members.' Talia started to explain as she saw Kaye began to get a bit impatient. 'I'm getting to the point. Anyway, we were unclear as to why it involved you and the Ronin Warriors. The council believed since you were still around when we have hidden something important from the ones who hunt us, they thought it was best to put a memory blocker into your head.'

Kaye narrowed her eyes at Talia as she clenched her fists, 'So you decided to play doctor with my head without asking me? How dare you! What right did you have to do such a thing?'

Talia looked at her with sympathy, 'I'm sorry, but it was necessary. It was important. You need to try and understand. It was for...'

'It was for the best, not for me but you and your council members!' Kaye shot back as she turned away from Talia. 'Have you known all this time about the struggles we've experienced? From the first time the guys met. To when I met them, to now?'

Talia effortlessly heard the outrage in her voice. But she stayed as calm and collected. 'Yes. You are correct. Everything happens for a reason. Not every reason needs an explanation.'

'This is where you and I disagree. When these reasons affect people and the lives connected to them, then yes, there better be a damn good reason for the explanation.'

'Kaye, we don't have much time. I need to know, do you want me to apply the angelic runes on you for your wings to regenerate?'

'I haven't made up my mind yet.' Kaye's voice dropped. Sadness was evident. I don't know what to do. I don't even know why I was born a Nephilim in the first place. Have you put a blocker on anyone else's minds or only mine?'

Talia felt bad for Kaye. She couldn't bring herself to tell her, not yet. 'No, no one else has a blocker, only you.'

Kaye whirled around, tears brimming, 'Get out of my head! I can't talk with you anymore!'

Talia stepped towards her, but she saw Kaye take a step back. She nodded and then vanished from Kaye's dream. Kaye grabbed onto her arms and pulled them in tight as she dropped to her knees. She then curled onto her side and let her tears fall as her mind called out for the one person she needed... 'Kento...'
