NOTE TO roban05: No problem on the day. Most likely no one here will know. Well, some of the people I know that I recommended for them to read knows, but I'm not sure they're still reading. Regarding Kerri and Walt, no. I'm not touching Sue's brothers, other than mentioning them in general. They have real names and personalities that I don't know so I don't want to misrepresent real people!

Carla took in a sharp intake of breath when she saw her daughter come out with the dress on in the bridal shop. "I'm speechless. Minus the mask of course."
Sue chuckled. "OF COURSE." She replied. "It actually fits fairly well, only minor changes, not too hard." She said as the dress fitter inspected the dress and made notes.
"You look a lot better in it than I did."
"You think?" She asked. Her Mom nodded in reply. "It is beautiful." She said quietly, looking down. "Thank you for keeping it." She said when she looked up at her Mom.
"Those mothballs did their job very well." Carla replied.
Soon, the dress was pinned and Sue was in her normal clothes again. "Ooh, look at this one!" She exclaimed as she and Carla were perusing the racks of wedding dresses, pulling out a really frilly one.
Carla laughed. "Really? Way too young for me. That would be something more for you. I want something more simple, like this one." She replied, pulling out a simple dress with no accoutrements at all.
"Come on, it's your wedding! You're not having another one! Go all out!" Her daughter prodded.
"I thought my last one was my last one. I went all out with that one. I want a bit toned down wedding this time." She replied.
"I understand." Sue replied, nodding. "But who can pass up glitter?" She asked, now picking a glittery dress and holding it up.
Carla chuckled, then looked though some of the dresses. After a few dresses, she paused. "This is it." She whispered.
"What is?" Sue asked, curious as her Mom took the dress off the rack. "Wow, you're right." She replied, looking at the dress. It was simple, but had a pearl-beaded waist and pearl shoulder straps. The skirt was simple and long. It was simple, but elegant. It was absolutely perfect.
Carla smiled widely though her mask as she held it up to herself. "I think this is it."
Sue nodded and smiled as well. "I think you're right."
?-?
"Hey!" Josh exclaimed as he and his parents walked into Mya and Maddy's apartment later that afternoon. "These are my parents, Kerri and Walt."
"Hi." Mya replied nervously, waving at them.
"It's so nice to finally meet you! You're all Josh ever talks about." Kerri said, excitedly smiling at Mya.
She embarrassedly smiled, then looked behind her where her parents were standing. "These are my parents, James and Lillian."
"Hi!" Kerri and Walt said, walking over to them to chitchat for a few moments.
"Hey, you OK?" Josh whispered as he pulled her aside, seeing how she was acting.
"Yeah, fine." She replied curtly.
"You're not and you know it." He replied.
"No, I'm not, but I can't do anything about it."
"Are you going to act this way all week?"
She shrugged. "I don't know, maybe."
Josh sighed. "You know you have to find peace with it."
She nodded. "I know. Maybe it will come naturally."
He laughed. "No. You need to do it yourself."
She nodded as she looked at the floor, then looked at him. "Can you help me?"
He smiled. "Of course."
She nodded as she turned to their parents. "Everyone, can I have your attention?"
Everyone looked at her, waiting to hear what she had to say.
?-?
"Wow." Sue whispered when she saw her Mom in the dress. "It's beautiful. You look amazing."
"Yes, it is." Carla replied, smiling through her mask as she looked at herself in the mirror. "It's perfect." After a few more minutes of admiration, she went back in to change into her normal clothes, coming out a few minutes later. "You were right. I did find my perfect dress today."
She smiled at her Mom. "See? Mother's don't know everything. Sometimes daughters know best."
Carla laughed as they walked to the cashier. "Oh!" She exclaimed, stopping.
"What's wrong?" Sue worriedly asked.
"I completely forgot!" She said, rummaging through her purse. "I wanted to give you this." She said, handing her a small box. "I didn't know I still had them until I was looking for some earrings last week. Go on, open it!"
Sue hesitantly looked down, unsure what was inside. Once she opened the lid, she took in a sharp intake of breath. "Oh my." She said, then looked at her Mom.
"They're old, blue and borrowed." She exclaimed, taking one of the blue earrings out of the box and holding it up to one of her daughter's ears. "They'll look beautiful on you." She replied, smiling through her mask.
"They are beautiful!" She replied, looking at them more closely. A small turquoise blue stone was set in silver, hung on a chain so they dangled.
"My Great Aunt Millie gave them to me to 'borrow' them for my wedding, so now I am letting you 'borrow' them." Carla explained. "Now you just need something new." She mused, looking around. "Ah!" She exclaimed, seeing something in the jewelry case. "This is perfect!" She exclaimed, quickly walking over to it.
"What is?" Sue asked, following her.
"This." She replied, picking up the necklace. "It's like it was made for it!" She exclaimed as she held up the necklace to Sue's neck.
Holding up the earrings and necklace in comparison, Sue nodded. "You're right! It's like they were made for each other, some 50 years apart!"
Carla smiled through her mask. "It's settled, then. You have all you need; something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue!"
Sue smiled widely. "Yes!" She exclaimed as they proceeded to the cashier, necklace in hand.
