Devoted Me 2 Chapter 2

Lucy sprinkled the other partygoers with glitter as they simply stared at her, frozen in their spots. Then a little girl raised her hand up. "Why are you so tall?" she asked. "Because I'm just like all of my friends. And they can be tall whenever they appear" replied Lucy, Then before anyone could ask her any more questions, she said, "OK, time for cake". The cakes ran towards the cake, cheering, but Agnes hung back. "Thank you, Lu-ShinkleBelle! You're the best fairy princess ever!" she said. "Awww. You are welcome, dear Agnes" Lucy replied in a high pitched voice. "I know it's really you, Mom, I'm just pretending for the other kids" whispered Agnes. She turned away while Lucy shock her head chuckling

But before she could head off to change back into regular clothes, she suddenly spotted Margo sitting on the ground, sulking and frowning. She had her arms wrapped around her bare legs. Lucy went over to speak to Margo. "Margo?" she said. Margo just sat there motionless, unable to respond. "What's wrong, I thought you were havin' fun?" asked Lucy. ''Well, remember where you adopted us?" Margo began. "Yes, sweetheart, why?" said Lucy. "Well, It's just because that I don't even know where I came from or who I belonged to" sighed Margo.

"Well, you belong to me now special girl" said Lucy, hugging her eldest daughter tightly. Margo agreed. But she was feeling worried again, and even began to sniffle as tears started rolling down her cheeks. "Oh, Margo, don't cry. it's alright" said Lucy, comfortingly. "But what if everyone finds me a weird girl because I don't have a birth family. I was a baby and I didn't understood anything. What if they'll laugh at me and call me a weird girl?!" wept Margo. "They won't, being adopted doesn't make you a weird girl. You and your sisters aren't the only ones to be adopted" said Lucy, gently as she stroked Margo's hair. ''Really?'' sniffled Margo wiping away her tears. "Yeah, really. Now dry your eyes and how 'bout some cake?" suggested Lucy. "OK, Mom" Margo sniffed. "Just remember you have a real family who loves you now" said Lucy.

"Yeah, and I love you. The best woman I ever had in my life who becomes my mom" said Margo, cheering up a bit. "I love you, too, sweetheart. Always" replied Lucy. Margo smiled, feeling much better. Lucy seemed to know everything. She offered her daughter a slice of cake. Margo took the piece of cake from her mom and took a bite out of it, chewing with her mouth closed as she walked away. That afternoon when the party was over, the girls sat down to watch a movie on TV. Lucy heard her watch beeping rapidly to let her know that her job the Anti-Villain League needed her back on the job. She quickly grabbed her blue overcoat and pulled it over her blue dress.

"Lupe, I want you to be in charge of the girls and make sure they don't cause trouble, make a mess, or break anything" she told her goat. "You can count on me, BFF" said Lupe. "Girls, behave yourselves while I'm gone, OK?" Lucy called to her three adoptive daughters. "OK, Mom!" the girls called back. Lucy got into her three mode car and drove off down the street into town. She drove past a zebra crossing and the park without noticing a big man with a bald head and a pointy nose. His name was Felonious Gru, though he was often simply called by his surname. He was wearing a light grey sweater underneath a black collared coat along with a striped scarf, black trousers, and shoes.

But he didn't look friendly like Lucy. He appeared to be mean, cold-hearted, and grumpy. The big guy growled as he gazed at the happy people. "Stupid nonsense!" he grumbled, ''But they are lucky I do not wish to seek right now". He walked into the coffee shop where a big queue of people stood in front of him. Gru didn't like waiting so he pulled his weapon called a Freeze Ray which could freeze people in a block of ice and that's exactly what Gru did to all the people waiting in line from one end to the other! "Freeze-Ray! Freeze-Ray! Freeze-Ray! HA-HA-HA-HA-HAAAA!" he exclaimed. Everyone was frozen. They couldn't move. But Gru didn't care, he laughed manically. The lady who was working behind the desk with cups of coffee and a bags of muffins opened her mouth wide in shock. Gru helped himself to the coffee and muffins and put a coin in a glass jar.

Then he got in his giant iron vehicle called an airship and drove back towards his house. Gru's house was big and black and looked very gloomy and unwelcoming, sort of like a haunted house. "Hey, Gru!" called his next door neighbour, Fred McDade, "How ya doin'?". "Hello, Fred," said Gru, sarcastically, "FYI . . . Your dog has been leaving little bombs all over my yard, and I don't appreciate it". "Sorry. You know dogs, they do wherever they wanna do" said Fred. ''Unless, they're dead" said Gru, indifferently. Fred looked shocked. Gru burst out laughing, "I'm joking. Although it is true. Anyway, have a good one!" he said as he went inside his house. "Uhhh...OK. You, too" said Fred, awkwardly. Gru's house was even more scary inside than outside.

Gru kept dangerous-looking weapons, creepy figure sculptures, and stuffed animals he used for the furniture. There was the head of a lion mounted on the wall, with a dog in its jaws, who had a cat in its mouth, and who has a mouse in its mouth. And a panda-skinned rug, a giant snake for a lamp, a swordfish head mounted on the wall, a rhinoceros chair, and the enormous crocodile couch. The only plants that Gru has were poisonous man-eating plants. He also had a dog called Kyle who was half dog and half piranha. He was a vicious, aggressive, ferocious, and monstrous blue creature who even Gru had trouble controlling.
