Chapter Three:

Sanderson ManSnoozie was rarely at home. He spent a lot of time out delivering Dreamsand to children, and most of the rest helping the other three Guardians. But today, he was going to rest at his hidden home - a moving castle in the desert.

Stepping inside, the spirit was hit by a sudden feeling of wrongness. Something or someone was inside, and it wasn't anyone who had been invited.

Silently creeping through the halls, Sandy followed his innate pull to the intruder.

'They were inside the lifesand vault,' He realised with a start, conjuring a golden whip and charging inside.

Only to stop when he recognized the golden robes of one of his generals.

A question mark appeared above the spirit's head, signalling his confusion as the general turned around, quickly followed by more symbols as he recognized the man.

Or what was left of him.

Kozmotis smiled, the grin looking insane as his eyes glowed from the lifesand. In his attempt to only take a little, the lull of the immortal sand had completely consumed him, turning him into something more sand than spirit.

There was a brief, calm, moment, and then Kozmotis lunged. Before he made contact, Sandy managed to send out three small golden horses that scattered to the wind as the fight began.

In the furthermost corners of Corona, E. Aster Bunnymund was looking for new flowers to paint. This village had the greatest and newest selection, and the Guardian wanted new material.

"Maybe I should visit Toothiana," He thought, gathering up his bouquet and tucking them carefully into his satchel. "Been awhile since I've visited that sheila,"

He was about to open a tunnel to the Tooth Palace when one of Sandy's horses appeared in front of his face. The pooka jumped, startled at the sudden movement, and leaped back.

"One o' Sandy's creatures?" He muttered, staring at it. His eyes widened. "A distress signal,"

Tapping a quick beat on the grass, Bunny opened and leapt into a tunnel, heading straight for the Sandman's castle.

At the same time, a young fae woman, covered head to toe in glimmering turquoise feathers, was spouting a stream of locations and descriptions to a group of smaller fairies. Whirling around in a blur of color, Toothiana was in the midst of her day.

"Incisor in Dunbroch! No wait - two incisors and a canine!" She shrieked. "Ooh, it's the royal triplets and they got in a fight again…"

One of her fairies nodded and sped away. Toothiana whirled around to another fairy, but was met with a sand horse.

"Sandy?" She squeaked. The horse turned into an image of the castle and then into an exclamation point, shaking wildly. "Oh no…"

The horse disappeared into a puff of sand, and Toothiana looked west.

And took off flying at full speed.

Toothiana met North - Santa Claus to the humans - halfway to Sandy's castle. The fairy was already pushing her limits, and was scooped into the sleigh as it rocketed south.

The two Guardians met Bunny outside the Sand Castle, and burst inside as a group, following the last of the tiny sand horses. They tore through the halls, shoving past the doors and into the fight between Kozmotis and Sandy.

"Sandy!" Toothiana screamed. Bunny leapt in front of the fairy and brandished his boomerangs, blocking a stray blast of sand.

North drew his swords, battling off streams of sand that had splintered off to protect the rogue general.

Kozmotis whipped his head to the side as he noticed the other Guardians, then thrust his hands out, sending streams of distorted sand to distract them.

"Somethings wrong!" Toothiana cried, wings flapping as she sprung into the air. "And the sand's different too!"

"This ez not Sandy!" North replied. "Kozmotis has done something very bad!"

"Can we talk about this later!?" Bunny griped, just barely taking out one of the sand tendrils. "TOOTH!"

"AHH!" The fairy screamed as she was caught off guard by a sand tentacle. It slammed into her back, stunning and sending her rocketing towards the ground.

Bunny slashed at the sand and dove for her, just barely catching the fairy before she hit the ground. Toothiana groaned and rubbed at her temple, muttering quietly.

"This ends. Now." Bunny muttered, setting Tooth down gently and grabbing his boomerangs.

Working together, Bunny and North were able to destroy the rogue sand, bringing them closer to the middle of the room, where Sandy and Kozmotis were battling. The Dreamsand General's face had gone unnaturally grey, bright, glowing lines of lifesand making their way into his veins. During the fight, his once elegant robes had been torn. With Lifesand flowing into his veins and magnifying his power, Kozmotis had lost all fear - and everything that had once made him, him.

But it was not enough to beat four powerful Guardians of childhood.

The moon had chosen the four for a reason, and given them power to match. Most spirits only focused on a single holiday or feature, but The Guardians focused on every child on earth - all of the time. They were what brought hope, memories, wonder and dreams to the humans, and they would do everything in their power to protect them.

And so, Kozmotis was taken down, and captured. He was locked up, far away on a hidden island, encased so deeply in a mountain of dark stone that the Guardians themselves felt uneasy there.

Kozmotis sat in his dark prison, just barely able to hear the sound of the angry seas hitting the rocks below him. As the island - and it's prisoner - grew darker, more and more shadowy beasts, fearlings, manifested.

And as the Fearlings' numbers grew, so did Kozmotis' hate. And with everyday Kozmotis remembered to punish and hate his captors, he forgot the four children he'd tied to his life force oh so many years ago.

Authors Note: It seems like such a long time since I last posted, but its still on my Friday schedule...

Well, this seems like a good time for updates! Omega Project is trucking along, but I usually manage to get one or two chapters done a day. I've hit the second half, and things have started to move faster since then.

There is also two more soulmates stories out today! A Penny/Tip and a Fishlegs/Heather (Which will have art so check back later if its not posted/Check the website link!).

For my AO3 readers: I also put out another Renegades: After the Supernova, and a short Nathalie Sancoeur Centric story based in Shawnacanon's Baby Boom Universe. There will be one more Supernova story for anyone interested (but it probably won't come out for a while), and I have an idea for a big Miraculous Story, but I want to finish writing Omega Project before I start work on that.

Hope you've all enjoyed this chapter, and please leave a review! They make me so happy, and I am always willing to answer questions!
