Devoted Me 2 Chapter 9
"AARGH! Get it off of me! Get it off of me!" cried Gru, running round in circles and trying to swat the chicken. Lucy thought fast and grabbed a nearby tablecloth. She lunged and covered the chicken with it. "I got it!" she said, jumping onto Gru and tightening the tablecloth around his neck. As she did so, her trousers slipped down showing the back of her bare skin, fortunately not her buttocks and a muffled scream came from under the tablecloth and Lucy wrestled herself and Gru to the floor and realized what she had done. She quickly removed the tablecloth and went to karate chop the chicken, but the bird flew off and Lucy hit Gru in the face instead. "OOOF!" grunted Gru. "Oh!" said Lucy. The chicken clucked and attacked. Lucy pressed a button on her watch, squirting foam onto the evil chicken.
The foam instantly hardened like concreate ball around the chicken, with only its heads sticking out. ''Hey, that pollo es loco'' joked Lucy. Then she saw that Gru was covered in scratches from the chicken and didn't find her remark as amusing. ''Okay, let's go'' she said. They stepped into the kitchen and Lucy pulled out a high-tech scanning device. She aimed it around the kitchen and read the level on the screen. ''Very interesting'' she said. ''What is it?'' asked Gru. ''I'm getting extremely high traces of tortilla'' said Lucy. Gru rolled his eyes. Lucy pulled out a pair of x-ray goggles and handed them to Gru to survey the kitchen.
Lucy came into his field of vision. Gru freaked out cos with the x-ray goggles, she appeared as just a skeleton ''Oh, that's an image I'll never get out of my brain!'' he said. He turned the other way and spotted something behind a painting in the wall. It's a hidden safe! And inside is a metal canister. ''I knew it!'' Gru declared proudly. He removed the painting, revealing the locked safe to Lucy. ''The PX-41 is in here!'' he whispered. ''Then let's get it!'' said Lucy. Gru pulled out his own high-tech device and placed it over the combination wheel. ''This is going to be good!'' he said, gleefully. CLICK. The safe opened and a cold mist drifted out, revealing a metal canister with a label that read EDUARDO'S SECRET RECIPLE. Gru opened the canister. He sniffed inside and got a concerned look on his face. He dipped his finger in and licked it. ''Salsa?'' he said. "Oh, man!" groaned Lucy.
Meanwhile, Eduardo had returned to his restaurant. He sensed something wasn't right and scowled. Then he spotted the chicken in the ball of concrete and gasped. ''Pollito! What did they do to you?''. ''Bawk!'' cried the chicken. ''Who would do this to such a sweet little chicken?'' said Eduardo. His eyes darkened. He realized someone must be in his kitchen. ''I know you're in there!'' yelled Edurado. Gru and Lucy who were devouring the delicious salsa immediately froze. ''He's comin'! Hide!'' urged Lucy. In the restaurant area, Eduardo grabbed a knife. ''You coming out? Or am I gonna go in?'' he yelled to the intruders.
Gru pulled a laser cutting out of his jacket and aimed it towards the celling. The laser fired and cut a hole in it. Eduardo shoved open the kitchen door, ready for battle. He entered just in time to see a pair or legs disappear into the celling. ''STOP!'' he shouted. Lucy quickly popped down and shot him in the face with the foam from her watch. ''My eyes!'' wailed Eduardo, in pain. He dropped the chicken, cracking its concreate shell and tried to wipe the foam out of his eyes. Gru and Lucy ran quickly through the mall. "Call one of your munchkins!" urged Lucy. "We have been spotted! Come get us!" Gru called out into his walkie-talkie to his minions. A few seconds later, there was a huge crash! The minions smashed Lucy's car through the glass doors and sped through the mall. Gru and Lucy watched from a balcony above as the car headed for the escalators. Lucy saw the wreckage.
''Subtle'' she said. They both ran down the escalator towards the car. ''Over here, over here!'' yelled Gru, "Over...", but it was no use. The minions didn't hear and the car zoomed past them, "...here'' finished Gru. The minions drove back up the bumpy escalator stairs, shaking and rattling. Once they reached the top, they made a left and started driving in circles. Gru pulled out a grappling hook and aimed for the balcony railing. ''Hold tight'' he said, grabbing Lucy. They shot up and landed right back where they started, at Sala & Sala! When the Minions zoomed by in the car. Gru sighed heavily.
Just then, Eduardo emerged from the restaurant, wheezing and unable to see properly.
He was holding a knife in his hand and out for revenge. Gru and Lucy ducked behind a cactus. Eduardo pulled out a few kitchen knifes and headed closer to the cactus. ''I have you now!'' he shouted. BAM! The car with the minions at the wheel struck Eduardo. When he started to recover, the car zoomed past him with Gru and Lucy hidden inside. The car crashed through the mall again. Gru screamed hysterically, but Lucy just hit a button. The car transformed into a jet. They flew off into the night sky. The next day, the four travellers haven't gone far when they encountered three fuzzy unexpected couples. Their names were Una, Dos, and Cuatro. POP! They emerged from their hiding spots and landed in the newcomers' paths. "AAHH! Look out! A pack of weasels!" said Donkey. "Hey! We're not weasels!" said Una. "We're hedgehogs!" said Dos."They knows what we are" said Una. "Aye, I say, buggy-eyed little rodents," said Puss. "We're not rodents!" insisted Una. Cuarto took one look at Shrek and Ferdinand, seeing how big and ferocious they looked and screamed. "AAHHH! Please don't chew on us! My greatest fear is death by chew".
