Potter Manor

2020

Harry Potter and his wife of 20 years, Ginny Potter were baking Christmas biscuits with their only daughter Lily in the spacious kitchen of their home.

Lily had just went up to her room to fetch her grandma Molly's recipe book leaving her parents alone in the kitchen.

Harry looked up from the his batch of cinnamon biscuit batter towards his wife who was working on her own batch of chocolate biscuits and smiled in content. 20 plus years and three kids later, sometimes he still couldn't believe she had agreed to marry a 'dork' like him as she always so eloquently put it everytime.

The fading sunlight of the evening sun was making her hair look ablaze and gave her fair skin a nice peachy tone . He walked behind her and sneaked a taste of her chocolate biscuit batter.

"Harry!" admonished Ginny. "That's not even cooked!!".

"Anything made by your hands taste delicious, love" said Harry, wrapping his arms around her from behind and pulling her back flush against his chest. He bent his head down to kiss her neck.

"hmmm.." Ginny sighed as she turned her neck to allow him more space.

He turned her around and pulled her into a passionate kiss. As things were getting heated and their hands had started wondering , Ginny suddenly pulled back.

Harry made a sound of protest, almost sounding like a whining child whose toy had been taken away from him. He pulled back from his conquest to map her neck with his lips and looked into her hazel gold eyes.

"Harry, don't you think the house's way to quite considering all three of our children are under the same roof?" asked Ginny, trying to detect any kind of sound that might indicate any mischief her children are upto.

Harry perked up his ears to try and hear any sound that his kids might be making or cooking up some kind of pranks since they are so unwillingly stuck in the house.

"You're right, the house should not be so quite considering they have Weasley'-potter genes in them" said Harry, worry creeping in his voice.

"You check the bedrooms, I'll search the rest of the house" said Ginny with a slightly panic edge to her voice.

Harry went up to Al's room and found it in the same condition he had left after returning from his school holidays.James and Lily's room too were devoid of any living being. He thought his kids might be upto some kind of prank when he heard his wife scream his name in horror.

He quickly ran into the direction of his wife's voice and found her at the entrance of their office, hands coverings her mouth, eyes wide and looking inside the office in horror. He quickly came upto her side and imagining the worst kind of possibilities.

What he saw made his blood run cold. His office floor was covered in green sand with the prototype-timeturner he had brought home from work lying on the floor and none of his children were in the house despite not being allowed to go outside.

"shit" Harry swore softly.

"Harry?" Ginny said sharply, looking at him with suspension.

"What is it? Why is there green sand lying on the office floor." said Ginny anxiously.

"Shit gin, I'm sorry I'm so so sorry. This is all my fault. I shouldn't have brought work home. Merlin they could be anywhere..." Harry went in a rant.

"Harry!" Ginny interrupted."Tell me how is it your fault later, first tell me where are our children? what happened to them" shaking him and desperately asking for her children.

"Gin, I.. I brought a prototype time Turner from work that the department of Mysteries wanted the auror department to test. I was supposed to take it back to them for further inspection after the holidays. I thought it won't be safe in the ministry so I bought it home".

"so you're telling me that our children could be lost in time and we won't be able to do anything" Ginny said slowly her voice rising.

"No, no Gin I think I've got a plan" said Harry pulling himself up in his auror mode, ready to improve a mission and get everybody to safety.

"Gin, pack our bags and take all essentials we might need" said Harry.

"What are we doing?" asked Ginny, looking at him confused.

"We are going to enter the room and take the time Turner with us before the sand whisks us away to the time our kids landed themselves into."

"ohk... ohhk" said Ginny taking deep breath and trying to compose herself.

Harry saw this and moved to take her in his arms.

"Hey..shush we are going to bring them back and then you can yell them for scaring us to your hearts content, hmm" Harry said softly, trying to console his wife. He hated seeing his wife cry. She was the strongest woman he knew and it took something really big situation to make her cry.

Ginny nodded her head into his chest, sniffing and pulling herself together. She went and started packing their bags, she took two pairs of clothing for each of her children and minimised five brooms incase they needed them.

She went to the entrance of the office to see Harry all packed up, his wand in his hand incase they land into an unsavory situation. He looked up at her when she came and her her an encouraging nod.

They held hands and entered the room, carefully walking on the sides and not stepping on the sand. Harry took out a handkerchief and wrapped the time Turner in it before putting it in his pocket carefully.

He then looked at Ginny and she nodded, indicating that she is ready.

The both held their hands again and stepped in the green sand , which whisked them away to an unknown time.
