Chapter 21: The Trial of Derrick, Part 2: The Deadly Mistake
"What have we done"?! Was racing through Laura Kinney's head as she starred, like those behind her who heard Derrick scream with horror written on their features.
Derrick was sitting in a metal chair with thick metal restraints holding down his arms, legs, chest and stomach with the modified cerebro helmet covering his head as he continued to scream like a madman. It reminded her of an electric chair as he squirmed in his seat with spasms in front of the quiet council, minus professor Xavier, who were watching this unfold with uncomfortable looks on Mystique's, Emma's and Storms faces as they watched him squirm. While shadow king, and Mr. Sinister had curious looks on their faces.
Off to the side were rogue and Kitty Pride who rubbed the back of their necks, seemingly uncomfortable about this whole situation before they looked at the entrance at the glaring Laura.
But the most shocking aspect is that Abigail Brand and Hank Mccoy, aka beast was in the same room while beast had a remote in hand, obviously controlling the helmet. While he starred unflinching at Derricks pain.
"AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHH"! "AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH"! "AAAHHHGGHHHH"!
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING"! Laura demanded in a rage as they turned to face her.
Storm looked like she was thinking, "maybe this was a bad idea", written on her face. "To bad it was too little too late in Laura's mind"!
At this point Scott, Polaris, Wanda, and Kurt were behind her with equally disgusted looks on their faces that said, "WHAT THE HELL"!
If Emma was fazed, she didn't show it before nodding at beast who, "reluctantly", pressed a button on the remote.
Derrick was starting to slow down in spasms now as his screaming stopped while making the occasional twitch every few seconds as cerebro died down.
Kurt looked like he was going to be sick at what they were doing to him while Derrick slacked in his chair. With Polaris and Wanda having similar expressions on their faces.
"What is necessary to get him under control was beast's response as he pushed up his glasses".
That was a gut punch….
Laura was shaking her fists as she turned her glare towards him now.
"YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO DO THIS TO HIM", "HE HAS THE MIND OF A TRAMATISED CHILD FOR CHRISTS SAKES"! She practically shouted out as she was dangerously close to pulling out her claws and jumping them right there.
Then Laura turned her head towards Mystique who had a look of satisfaction on her face now that they finally got derrick in cerebro. "That smirk"! It nearly sent her over the edge!
Derrick just sat there heaving in breaths after the suffering he endured.
"AND YOU"! Laura shouted pointing at Mystique who seemed calm despite the fact that they pissed off, "The Laura Kinney".
YOU INPERSONATED ME, AND YOU BROUGHT HIM HERE TO BE TORTURED"!
"We prefer, re-educate". Was her simple reply, before continuing, "also, you are one to talk, considering the fact that you've done things just as bad in your life".
That left Everyone before the council speechless.
Especially Laura.
"IS THIS WHAT WE'VE COME TO"!? Laura shouted out in frustration. "A MEANS TO AN END, IS THAT HOW A MUTANT NATION OPERATES"?! With some hurt in her features.
Silence greeted her back while beast let out a small smile, or was it a smirk.
"UNBELIEVABLE"! was her response before she started to move towards Derrick intending to get him out? This time though she pulled out her claws on her right-hand telling Rogue and Kitty Pride to step back.
Suddenly she screamed out in pain as Emma Frost attacked her mind making her fall onto her knees while clenching her head.
Kurt and the others were about to step in when Emma frost held up her hand while Rogue and Kitty grudgingly held up there's with pleading looks on their faces.
Just then Beast pressed the button on the remote, sending Derrick into screams and spasms once more.
"Please, don't…. don't do this"! Laura begged looking up at Emma and the quiet council who remained unflinching.
She turned her head towards Storm who also looked away.
Rogue and Kitty had to look away as Laura felt utterly betrayed at this point.
Just then Derrick's spasms, and screaming started to die down as he slowly but surely, started to stay still.
This was picked up by Beast who raised an eyebrow and clicked the button again, only for Derrick to let out a small chuckle.
Everyone's attention was on him as Laura looked up in horror, realizing what was happening.
At this point Derrick was letting out full blown hysterical laughter.
"Oh no"! "Please God no"!
He stated laughing so hard that his sharp teeth were showing on a monster grin that creeped everyone out.
"Crack"!
Everyone blinked as the vibranium cuff on his left hand suddenly cracked.
"No"! "Please God no"! Laura screamed in her head.
"SNAP"! The vibranium band around his chest and stomach suddenly busted loose flying past a stunned Rogue and Kitty before landing in the wall past shadow king's head.
Mr. Sinister and Emma Frost were standing up now as she looked back at Beast who pushed the button again.
"It did nothing as Derrick continued to laugh his head off" busting metal off his arms and legs as he did.
"Hank"! Emma shouted fearing this level of madness now. And she wasn't alone. Mr. Sinister and Storm were feeling cautious now as they stood up, while backing up.
Beast was turning up the setting and pushed the button again lightly sweating as he did.
"It did nothing"!
Mystique however pointed a gun at him to defend herself as she backed up.
Derrick lifted both hands up and ripped cerebro off his head like it was made of tissue paper scarring the mutants behind and in front of him leaving the components attached to his neck as he did.
What came next was even worse.
Beast muttered, "DAMN IT, WHY ISNT IT WORKING"!
Then he turned it to max.
"This is our last shot"!
This was noticed by Laura who screamed, "Hank"! "Don't do it"!
But it was too late, and….
That would prove to be a mistake.
He pushed the button several times in a row.
His face and arms slacked while his composure instantly changed, clenching his head as he did, "Ah shit, you let the other guy out".
"Other guy"? The everyone thought as they noticed the sudden change in his mindset.
Then, Derrick slumped to the floor with a, "thud" noise as his arms dropped to the sides with an emotionless look on his face. Like he was an empty husk.
For a moment everyone was still, not sure what just happened, then suddenly, Derricks form started changing and grew before their verry eye's! Bone spikes popped out of his skin and clothes as they sunk into black tendrils, while his face became more solid looking with pronoun cheekbones that stuck out leading up the skull into spikes, with a set of horns on his head like a midlevel dragon, with his jaw popping out into a solid, rigid bone mass with spikes for teeth, and a shell-like forehead with four rows of symmetrical compound eyes on his head like what you would see on a bug aside from two red glowing eye's that had a line running down each leading up to the horns. And his neck muscles popped out as he hunched his back like the hulk did sometimes.
Rogue backed up in terror as his form continued to pop up with muscles that looked like smooth shell pieces, with his shoulders growing a monstrous number of spikes that formed into a mountain pass on his shoulder and shoulder blades of various caliber and sizes. It looked overly disproportionate to his lower half. With a massive set of hulking arms that were thicker than his stomach!
His rib cage popped as it showed boney black ribs under the arms in segments on his chest leading down to a black set of abbs. Then, there was the fact that he had a boney pelvis that lacked any weak spots.
Emma starred dumbfounded at the sight before them realizing that they made a deadly mistake.
His legs were muscular but skeletal massive hind legs that had clawed feet like an armored boot mixed with a dragon's hind leg with the top sticking out with boney thighs that were covered in muscles and shell with two boney spikes running up the sides of the upper legs. Along with a spiked knee that curved upwards.
He kept on growing as he was sitting on his knees.
Laura was starring up at this monstrosity Derrick was becoming before their eyes with terror on her face. As he kept on changing while looking up.
His hunchback's spine grew boney segments in the form of skeletal spikes while his shoulder blades popped out of the skin along with the collar bones on the back.
His elbows had four massive spikes leading down the arm with clawed segmented fingers like a knight's gauntlets with little bone spikes pointing upwards on the knuckles at the curves.
Mr. Sinister was both awed and terrified at the sheer power that was radiating off the, "creature", before him. While Mystique nearly dropped her gun before composing herself wondering what was going on inside of Derricks body at this point.
"Smash"! Derrick smashed his fist downwards smashing through the tile as he did while leaning forwards. Making it collapse under his own weight.
Kitty Pride and Storm had equally horrified looks on their faces as Derrick stood up to his full height, which was a good fourteen and a half feet tall for crying out loud!
"Pop"! The components on the back of his neck popped off his new muscles like a bouncy ball.
Which landed in front of the stunned Laura Kinney. But she was too horrified to care at this point, or even notice.
"RRRRROOOOOOOOGGGHHHHHRRRRRRR"! Derrick let out a monstrous, inhuman roar that shook the outer chambers to its core. Shaking the table as it did!
Slowly everyone behind him backed up, but not Laura who sat there frozen with a tear going down her cheek at what they did to him.
"The X-Men were supposed to be a beacon of hope, but now, they were starring at their monster made flesh"! And the price of their ignorance.
"Derrick was right". Laura thought to herself on the first day he arrived here, "we are cowards….". "I was a coward".
Derricks inhuman red eyes seemed to focus on one person in the room, and that was, "Beast"! Who stood there frightened realizing that Derrick was looking at him in particular"? While his features twisted into a rage never seen on him before! Making Emma jump out of the way in a split second while turning into her Dimond form dampening the impact.
Then just as Emma and the others moved out of the way, Derrick lunged, flying like a cruise missile smashing through the table, wall, and floor into the courtyard that surrounded the council chambers with a mighty, "SSMMASSSHHHH"! Mixed with another roar, tearing up roots and walls as he did. Fortunately for beast he moved out of the way in time, before Derrick hit him, though, he grazed his arm breaking it in the process.
By now everyone was scrambling out of the council chamber as Derrick could be heard smashing the structures on the other side by now. Causing the room to shake as it did.
But Laura just sat there, starring at the massive hole in the room, when she thought,
"There's no stopping him now….".

Next time, its going to be pretty brutal stuff also let me know who you guys want to show in this series in the reviews, also Deadpool is going to be in the next chapter or two. So, expect a, "lot", of comments on his part.
"God, I hope I know what I have unleashed in this story".
