Eris woke up with a very bad headache. She slowly sat up and looked around for a while. 'Where...am I?' she thought as she looked around more. She realized that she was back in her room, which was a little messy. Eris sighed and swung her feet over the bed and noticed bandages on her hand, reminding her of the battle with the Frost Giants. She stared at her bandaged hand for a while, then glanced up when she heard the door being opened.

Harmonia walked in with a bowl of something steaming, probably water. The younger sister looked at her and smiled. "Eris! You're awake!" she shouted, pulling her into a light hug after carefully sitting the bowl to the side.

Eris was a little stunned, but she hugged her little sister back with a smile. "Yes, I am awake now."

Harmonia soon released her and wiped the tears that were forming in her eyes. Eris knew that she had been crying because her eyes were a little red and puffy. "I was worried that you wouldn't wake up," she said, looking away.

Eris glanced over at the bowl sitting on the table next to the bed, still hot and steaming a little. She started to move closer to the bowl, but felt a sharp pain in her arm, causing her to hiss.

"Oh, be careful, sis," Harmonia said while grabbing a washcloth from the water. "This is just warm water. This will help clean your wounds. I going to clean your hand now."

The older sister watched as she dipped the cloth into the water and lightly dab it on her hand. Every time the warm water would touch it though, it would sting a little. "Ow...be gentle, Harmonia," she hissed again.

"Sorry, Eris, but I have to make sure that it's completely cleaned and wrapped again," she said, then smiled after completing her little task, then wrapped her hand with the last bit of bandages. "There, all done."

"Thank you," Eris said, then laid back on the bed. She couldn't stop thinking about what happened today. She was confused, to say the least. Why did her hand turn blue when she grabbed that icicle? Why did her father turn blue as well? Should she tell Harmonia?

"What's wrong, Eris? What happened out there?"

Eris paused and looked back down at her bandaged hand. Would she turn blue like her and their father? She only let out a sigh and fell back into the bed. This was all too much for her. What does this all mean?

"Honestly, I don't know..."

Harmonia sat down next to her and was about to say something, but a knock on the door caused her to jump and let out a quiet yelp.

"Girls, can I come in?"

Loki. Definitely. The girls glanced at each other as Harmonia sighed in relief, then back at the door. "Yes, you can come in," Eris said.

He entered the room, still dressed in the same clothes he wore during the battle, and sat on the edge of the bed. "How are you feeling, Eris?" he asked.

"Tired," she replied. "A little dizzy, but fine."

Loki just nodded and glanced away from them. They were a little confused. "Thor's not coming back."

"Where is he?" Harmonia asked.

"He was banished."

Thor being banished? That was no surprise. Eris had a feeling that sort of thing would happen. Though it was wrong, she can admit that what happened today was reckless on his part. It was a little quiet and they were getting a little uncomfortable, then Eris cleared her throat.

"Father, I... need to tell you something," she started, then took a deep breath. "While we were fighting, Fandal was injured and I went to aid him and my arm turned...blue..."

"What?"

Eris sighed while pulling up her sleeve. "It was when I pulled those icicles from his chest. It's been bothering me since we returned home. I don't know what it means..."

He glanced over at her. Did he know? Did he know this would happen? Eris watched as he stood up from the bed and walked to the door. "You two stay here," he said, before reaching the door and disappearing out of the room.

The girls sat there in the silence of their shared bedroom until they couldn't hear his footsteps. What was he going to do? Eris once again glanced down at her bandaged hand for a second. He must be hiding something.

"What's going on, Eris?" Harmonia asked. "Is he angry at us?"

"I don't know..." Eris started, then quickly stood up from the bed, a look of slight confidence crossed her face. "But I'm going to find out."

Harmonia quickly followed her older sister towards the door of their bedroom. What if they get caught? Would Loki punish them? "Where are you going, Eris? Father told us to stay in here," she said quietly.

Eris glanced at her sister; her bandaged hand rested on the doorknob. "And be left in the dark? Not tonight."

"Then what are you going to do?"

"Simple;" Eris pulled open the door before turning to her little sister with a mischievous grin. "To find out the truth."

The girls stepped out of their room and closed it behind them. Eris looked around again, then made her way down the hall, with Harmonia following close behind, to where their father went. It was unnervingly quiet, she wondered about the whereabouts of the guards at this time. They silently reached the door that led to the Vault, then stopped when she saw someone in green walking towards a gold casket. The girls slowly walked in, though the sound of the creaking door caused Loki to turn to them after reaching the casket. He didn't seem all too happy to see them.

"What are you two doing here? You're supposed to be in your room," he said.

Eris opened her mouth to reply, but Harmonia stepped in front of her. "We're sorry, but we just wanted to find out the truth with you..." she said nervously, twirling a piece of her hair between her fingers.

Loki glanced at his oldest daughter, who just stood there in silence with her arms crossed, then let out a sigh while motioning them to follow him, which they did. The twins watched as Loki grabbed the casket; his skin slowly turning blue and his usual green eyes turned red until it fully consumed his body. A chill went down Harmonia's spine, but it wasn't from the sudden cool air that filled the room. She went to take a step closer to her father but soon felt that they weren't alone.

"Stop!"

Eris glanced behind her to see her grandfather, Odin, standing at the entrance.

"Am I cursed?" Loki finally asked, breaking the growing silence.

"No."

"What am I?"

"You're my son."

Loki released his grip on the casket, which quickly reverted him back to normal. "What more than that? The casket wasn't the only thing you took from Jotunheim that day, was it?"

The girls couldn't stop looking at Odin. He knew he couldn't deny or hide the truth from them. "No. In the aftermath of the battle, I found a baby. Small for a Frost Giant offspring. Alone, suffering, left to die. Laufey's son."

The twins glanced at each other. Laufey? The same Frost Giant that tried to kill them? It was ridiculous. Loki struggled to make sense of it all. "Why?" he started. "You were knee-deep in Jotun blood. Why take me?"

"You were an innocent child."

"You took me for a purpose. What was it?"

There was silence.

"Tell me!"

Odin sighed. "I thought we could unite our kingdoms one day, bring permanent peace, through you. But that plan no longer matters."

Eris felt a growing amount of hate consume her but she tried to control herself as the two men began arguing. Harmonia tried to drown out their voices by humming to herself, but it was no use.

"So, I am nothing more than a stolen relic locked up here until you may have use of me?" Loki shouted at Odin.

"Why do you twist my words?"

"You could've told me who I was from the beginning. Why didn't you?!"

The girls glanced at Odin again, waiting for an answer as he let out a sigh. "You are my son. I only want to protect you from the truth."

"So, I'm the monster who I should be telling my daughters about at night?!" Loki shouted, walking towards Odin, getting louder with every step. "It all makes sense now why you favor Thor all those years because no matter how much you claim to love me, you could never have a Frost Giant sitting on the throne of Asgard!"

The girls were in shock. Everything they had believed as children was just lies. Harmonia wanted to say something, anything, but was frozen when she saw Odin no longer standing, but unconscious on the steps.

"Grandfather?" she mumbled, but he didn't wake up.

Loki looked devastated. "Guards!" he called. "Guards, please help!"

Seconds later, a few guards appeared to collect Odin from the steps and it was quiet. They stood there, thinking about Loki's words.

"I knew he was hiding something from us," Eris mumbled. "I just knew it..."

Harmonia walked towards her father with worry written on her face. "He'll be okay, right, Father?"

Loki seemed to hesitate before answering her. "I don't know," was all he said before sitting down with them.

Eris suddenly turned away and started to the door, many thoughts flooding her mind with every step she took, but only one question stuck with her; why did he hide this from them? From Loki? Harmonia tried to stop her older sister from leaving but was held back by her father.

"Let her go," he said. "She needs a moment to think about it."

Harmonia stood in the same spot, staring at the doorway as Eris quickly left her sight, too scared to speak.
