Harmonia sat in the room that she shared with her sister in silence. She couldn't sleep; how could she? She just found out that her father was a Frost Giant, meaning she and Eris were also related to them as well. It currently was a lot to take in. She glanced over at the empty space of the room and wondered where her older sister could have gone.
"It's getting really late..." she mumbled to herself before standing from the comfort of her blankets and walking towards the halls.
Eris wasn't exactly easy to find when she becomes upset; at this point, she could be anywhere. The halls were finally quiet, no more shouting for the day which made the young girl happy. Everyone should be asleep. Or so she thought.
The young princess noticed a familiar golden light shining from the king and queen's bedroom ahead of her, meaning someone was awake. She quietly pressed her back against the wall and peeked into the room, trying her best to be as silent as possible. Queen Frigga sat on one side of the bed that Odin laid in, silently holding onto his hand. Although she couldn't see too clearly, she can slightly make out the King's lifeless figure, his body, and the space warped due to the effects of Odinsleep. Harmonia had heard of it, but she never has seen what it exactly does to him. On the other side of the bed sat her father, who seemed equally worried about the King's condition.
"I asked him to be honest with you," Frigga started, catching the young girl's attention. "There should be no secrets in the family."
"Then why did he lie," she heard her father ask.
"He kept the truth from you so you would never feel different. You are in every way our son, Loki, and we are your family, as well as your daughters. You must know that."
Harmonia felt tears welling in her eyes, but she didn't bother wiping them away. Odin deeply cared for them but was just too hesitant to break the news to him.
"How long will this last?"
"I don't know. This time is different. We were unprepared."
She quietly stepped into the room with a look of fear. It didn't take long for Loki to notice his youngest daughter enter, making her way towards him. She couldn't believe this was happening or if he could even wake up again. If he can't rule, then who can? Thor was banished from Asgard for gods knows how long and she wasn't sure if her father was even ready to become king after what he just learned.
Frigga continued, "We mustn't lose hope that your father will come back to us. And your brother."
"What hope is there for Thor?"
"There's always a reason for what your father does. Thor may yet find a home."
There was silence again while Harmonia glanced back at her grandfather. She wondered if he could hear them. Loki then rose from his seat in an attempt to leave the room, but a few guards entered, blocking his way. One of them held Odin's staff.
Wait...does that mean...?
"Thor is banished. Therefore, the line of succession falls to you until Odin awakens."

Harmonia soon found her older sister in the Royal Garden, their favorite spot during stressful days. It was dark, but her face was lit by the green glow of her fire that rested in her hands. Eris has been practicing her magic since she was a child, even attempting to teach Harmonia at one point once she thought she was old enough.
"Leave me alone," Eris said coldly, though Harmonia can hear her struggling to hold back tears. "I know it is late, but I don't care right now."
Harmonia sat down next to her sister without saying a word. Even in the shadows, she can see the frustration in her glowing green eyes as she stared into the green flame, not once acknowledging her.
"Go back inside, Harmonia," she said. "I don't want you to get into trouble with Father."
"What of you?" Harmonia asked quietly while moving closer to her sister.
Eris was silent for a while, then she let out a sigh as she extinguished the flame. "We've been lied to..."
"Grandfather only hid the truth because he didn't want us to feel different from the rest," Harmonia said, hoping her words were the least bit helpful, more convincing. "I stopped by to see him while Grandmother and Father were talking. He's king now...at least he wakes up."
Eris looked at her with a slight look of surprise. "Father is king?"
Harmonia nodded with a small smile on her face. It was such surprising news for both of them as Loki himself believed that he wasn't exactly ready to take on such a large role. But what would it mean for them? Will they receive a bit more attention than usual?
Even with the news, Eris couldn't find much joy in it. She only shifted her gaze out into the open and let out a sigh. "I miss Mother."
"Me too," Harmonia replied, resting her head on her sister's shoulder. Their mother had always been there for them whenever their father was busy with the family business. She had always thought about Loki becoming king. Her absence left a hole in both their hearts. "Do you think she'll be proud of him?"
It was a question that Eris often asked herself when their mother was alive. For a while, she forgot about it because she didn't really care about dealing with the people on a daily basis because of her title of princess. But after her passing, she often wonders if she was watching them from wherever she is now. "I think so," she finally responded. "It's been a dream of theirs for a long time."
The two sat in silence for a while before Eris stood up from the ground and dusted the dirt and grass off her dress. "Let's get some rest," she started, turning to her younger sister. "I know the sun will rise soon and I don't want Father to worry about us."
It was close to sunrise when the twins managed to sneak back into their room and crawl into bed, not bothering to sleep in their own beds as they were too tired. Harmonia secretly hoped that their father or Frigga didn't see them.
Little did they know, Loki, the new ruler of Asgard, heard and saw everything and all he could do was smile.
