Papyrus headed through the town to the house he shared with his brother. He had planned on training with Undyne, but she had noticed he was distracted and he admitted he was worried about his brother.
Then, after he had spilled the whole story, she had told him he should go home and take care of things, seeing how worried he was, that it was much more important than training. He wanted to protest that, but he had a feeling Sans needed him more than the public eye at that moment.
Then he noticed that somebody was walking towards him. "OH, MR. GRILLBY," Papyrus said, not stopping, "I AM SORRY BUT I CANNOT TALK RIGHT NOW."
Grillby tugged nervously on his collar, signing for him to stop. He noticed that Papyrus hadn't seen so he managed quietly, "I'm worried about Sans."
"YOU CAN SPEAK?" Papyrus asked loudly, surprised at this fact.
Grillby usually spoke using sign language as best he could, his hands were of course made of fire. Grillby nodded awkwardly, motioning for him to quiet down, this was hard enough as it was. There were only a few monsters Grillby could speak to comfortably, Sans being one of them, as he was so often at the restaurant.
Also, Grillby had noticed that his sign language made Sans uneasy, though Sans told him he was fine, Grillby tried not to sign around him, but that had worked in his favor anyway. Now, he could comfortably speak to someone.
"BUT, YOU SAID YOU'RE WORRIED ABOUT MY BROTHER?" Papyrus continued, "WHY? WHAT DID HE DO NOW?"
"No- no it's not his fault," Grillby quickly told him, switching back to sign language, "It's just that he kept spacing out when I spoke to him, first I asked if he felt ok, then I told him I could help like I helped you. Then I took him out back to talk and he told me- that he didn't deserve help and that he was, um, how did he put it, 'paying for the hurt he caused others in the past.' Papyrus, I'll just be honest with you here. I'm worried for your brother's mental health. I know he doesn't want anyone to worry about him, especially you, but something has to be done."
Papyrus was uncharacteristically quiet a moment, then he said softly, "I KNOW... BUT HE WON'T TELL ME ANYTHING AND I DON'T KNOW HOW TO HELP. THE SAME THINGS THAT WORKED FOR ME WON'T WORK FOR HIM IF HE WON'T EVEN TALK."
"I- I know..." Grillby replied, resigned, "I just thought you would want to know this. I don't know where Sans went though, he just teleported away..."
"I- DON'T WORRY, MR. GRILLBY," Papyrus announced confidently, "I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, WILL FIND SANS AND DO WHATEVER I CAN TO HELP HIM."
Grillby chuckled lightly, "I know you will, Papyrus. I have to go back to work now, just drop by if you need me, and if anything happens tell me, I can help."
"OF COURSE," Papyrus half bowed, "THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME ABOUT THIS."
Then he ran off towards his house, bellowing, "NYEH HEH HEH!"
Grillby shook his head with a quiet laugh, then headed back to his restaurant.
