Note: Heya guys, I'm sorta back! I sorta have been busy and last night i dreamed i was Sans?... then I woke up like, oh crap, people are actually reading this and expecting me to update it. So here it is. For some reason there were Sans AU's in my dream and I was "canon Sans," or so I thought. Apparently I was just plain depressed Sans. XD. Anyways, dudes, uhhhh, enjoy or whatever. Also, Alyphne, gahhhhh

After a ride on the riverperson's boat, (Which Grillby promised Papyrus he would be safe on because he was wearing his rain gear.) The group was right outside the lab, and Papyrus burst inside first, "DR. ALPHYS? OH, UNDYNE!"

He spotted Undyne sitting on a chair, reading a book with a creased brow, "I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE HERE."

She didn't answer, but Alphys appeared and gave the group a weary smile, "H-hi, guys. I s-see that Grillby was w-w-worried, and..." She trailed off, spotting Frisk, "A-a-a human? Papyrus, where the h-heck did you find a human? You know what, th-that's not important right n-now. What did you find?"

Papyrus reached into the bag he had brought, which had a change of clothes for both Sans and Papyrus (if he had to stay.), then pulled out the pocket knife, "SANS HAS BEEN HURTING HIMSELF," he said simply, handing it over to Alphys.

"O-oh," the scientist seemed at a loss for words. There was a slamming sound, and they all looked over to see that Undyne had dropped the book, and that her hands shook.

"UNDYNE?" Papyrus went over to her, "WHAT'S WRONG? ARE YOU COLD OR SOMETHING?"

"Yes, I am cold!" Undyne snapped, jumping to her feet, tears in her eyes, "Or at least, my soul is! I'm sorry Papyrus, I really am!"

Papyrus looked concerned as she grasped his shoulders, "I DON'T UNDERSTAND..."

"I said some things..." She looked away, "I wasn't thinking! I didn't know Sans was here, but I just kinda vented on Alphys and now he's-" she broke off.

"UNDYNE..." He hesitated then reached up to hug her, "IT'S OK, I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BUT I'M SURE IT WILL BE OK."

"No, it's not ok!" She pushed him away, "Just ask Alphys what I did! I may as well have killed your brother myself!"

"K-KILLED?" Papyrus squawked, "HE'S NOT D-DEAD IS HE?"

"N-no, he's n-n-not," Alphys assured him, "It's just... h-here," she pulled out a small monitor, "I m-managed to catch these r-readings as I left the r-room." Papyrus leaned closer to see.

Sans. HP: 0.5/0.8

Guilty and broken.

He turned slowly to look at Undyne, "WHAT DID YOU DO?"

He didn't sound angry, or accusatory, just... disappointed. Undyne would've rather had him get mad, and shout at her, she knew how to handle that, but this hurt much more than anything she had ever felt.

"I-I said the wrong things..." She replied quietly, "I called him some things..."

"LIKE WHAT?" Papyrus asked patiently. "Um..." Undyne didn't want to tell him, but she had no choice, she knew she didn't, "I called him lazy, and weak, and- useless... and- and I called him a burden."

She stared at the ground, clenching fists so tight her hands shook, "I was just angry that he had worried you so much. I shouldn't have said those things."

Papyrus sighed a little, then smiled, "I FORGIVE YOU UNDYNE, YOU WERE JUST TRYING TO BE A GOOD FRIEND, EVEN IF YOU WENT ABOUT IT THE WRONG WAY."

"Why don't you get angry?" Undyne snapped, giving him a half-hearted shove, "Yell at me! Punch me! Something! Don't you see what I did to your brother? Why aren't you beating me to a pulp?"

"UNDYNE..." Papyrus said quietly, "WHAT YOU SAID WOULDN'T HAVE AFFECTED HIM LIKE THIS, IF HE DIDN'T ALREADY THINK THOSE THINGS ABOUT HIMSELF. DON'T BLAME YOURSELF, YOU DIDN'T KNOW, NOBODY DID."

"I- I'm just..." She sagged, collapsing back into her chair, "I'm sorry. My job is to protect the monsters of the Underground, all I did was manage to break one."

"U-Undyne," Alphys spoke up, putting the pocket knife back in the bag, that was now held by Frisk, "He's not b-broken. N-not yet, and he d-doesn't have to be. Don't believe wh-what that reading s-said. We c-can help Sans, n-now that we know something's wrong. Th-there's probably other m-monsters who would be v-very upset to see Sans b-break. And, e-even if there isn't, th-there's us," she blushed deeply, "A-and that's pretty g-good, r-r-right?"

Undyne sighed, then chuckled softly, reaching over to noogie Alphys's head gently, "Well said as always."
