I see this as a follow-up to Time Changes All Things (chapter 3). Hope I've done it justice.

"I vote cake."

"That wasn't one of the options…"

"Cake is always an option."

Ginny scoffed as she bounced past Ron and George plotting at the bottom of the stairs. Ron was never going to become George's new partner-in-crime if he couldn't see past his fixation on food. She sailed into the kitchen, looking for a way to channel her energy, and stepped up behind her mother.

"Hi Mum. Need any help?"

"Oh, all right then," replied Molly, smiling. "Chop these carrots for me, if you would."

Ginny grabbed the knife and set to chopping, glad to have something to distract her focus. She never gave her brothers another thought.

An hour later, Harry let himself quietly into the Burrow. He paused a moment in the hallway to collect himself. Somehow, today felt different to his multitudinous other visits to the Burrow for Sunday dinner. He remained distracted as he entered the lounge and greeted Hermione and Ron, his mind fixated on Ginny, and knowing it shouldn't be. He pushed away his nerves as Ron started complaining about the Cannons and smirked slightly at Hermione, sharing their usual amusement at Ron's enthusiasm for the team. Was that smile she returned her usual one…?

Despite their best efforts, somehow they had found themselves sitting together. Not that Ginny objected to that per se, but it was kind of hard to hide a fledgling relationship like this. It was in fact rather nice to feel Harry's arm brush against hers from time to time, if quite distracting. Once or twice she thought she caught someone struggling to keep a straight face, but she didn't think that could be right.

As the meal drew to a close, she began to look at George and Ron more closely. They definitely appeared to be anticipating something. Suddenly, a pop sounded, and the entire table began to snigger. She looked at Harry, only to find he had her hair. She groaned, and looked round the table.

"You didn't really think you could hide it, did you?" asked her mum, kindly.
