Steam rose up from the edges of the pot as Vanellope smiled down at the glowing boiling brew which fluctuated from pink, blue, and purple. Alright, I think I did it! But how strong is it? I don't want it to be so powerful that it turns the guys into love zombies. I still want them to be cognizant and capable of making decisions. And who should I test it on anyways? Vanellope thought, her head tilted in consideration as she chewed on her inner cheek. However, her thoughts were cut short upon hearing an alarm go off on her phone, and with a tsk she pulled her phone off and turned off the ringer.

Darn it! Is it that time already? Well I suppose it's for the best. Better bottle up the potion and get myself gussied up. And, with that plan in mind, Vanellope pulled out a ladle full of the multi-colored liquid and poured it into the jars beside her. Besides, I don't need to find my little guinea pig just yet. Getting the potion made was all I needed to do in order to complete Phase 1. Then, once her work was complete, Vanellope screwed the top on the bottles and put out the fire under the condition.

For years the glitch had watched King Candy do his yearly anniversary speech from the same balcony that overlooked his precious kingdom. As a child she had idolized the king and enjoyed listening to his "goofy" and "silly" voice. But, when age and wisdom began to set in, Vanellope began to hate his speech and everything else that King Candy stood for. If you asked the glitch she wouldn't know when this incline of hatred had began. However, if you asked Vanellope when her hated finally hit it's peak, it would be right now.

"Thank you, my wonderful subjects, it is a pleasure for me to annoyance another successful year in Sugar Rush. Let us cheer on our lovely racers who are sure to bring more profit and prosperity to the game. And let's hope that this year will be just as great for NPC's and Playable Characters alike. If anything is to interrupt this peace I will do everything within my power to stop it," said King Candy, with Vanellope getting closer and closer to the balcony with each glitch she made.

It was too easy to sneak into the castle. King Candy must be going senile if he thought that giving all his guards the night and day off was a good idea, Vanellope thought, as her smile grew even wider. And now his incompetence will be his downfall. Then, without wasting another moment, the Vanellope glitched one last time. The horrified gasps and surprised exclamation from King Candy momentarily giving Vanellope cold feet as she landed next to the king. Don't freeze up, Vanellope, not when all eyes are on you.

"Y-You!? What are you doing here!?" King Candy demanded, his mind quickly recovering from the shock, as annoyance shrouded his face. And, for a moment, Vanellope didn't respond instead she took in a few calming breathes and quickly scanned her form. Her black and mint green shirtdress modestly outline her form. Vanellope's black mascara and lipstick was done up perfectly. Her hair had been fully washed and brushed out into curly locks.

Sure, compared to King Candy, her outfit wasn't that much of an eye catcher. But, at the same time, it gave off a level of professionalism and comfort that would make her look good in the public eye.Yeah, you're good. Now all you gotta do is speak. Vanellope then cleared her throat and looked kindly King Candy before focusing on the crowd below them. "I have come to suggest a competition of sorts."

The king glowered at this and glared at the glitch while the crowd began to whisper and talk amongst themselves. King Candy had no idea what Vanellope was going on about but he had to remind himself to stay calm. Don't do anything stupid, Turbo. If you yell at her or try to lay your hands on her that will ruin your reputation. Glitch or no glitch she's 18 now and there are still people that like her. The king took a deep breathe and forced an amused yet skeptical smile on his face. "A composition? And what kind of composition would that be?"

Vanellope bit back a smirk; King Candy was taking the bait. "Well, I was thinking that this could be a composition to choose the next leader of Sugar Rush." Immediately the crowd begs to shriek and panic while the king's eyes widened in shock and horror. "Settle down, everyone, I'm not done yet." And reluctantly, the crowd went quiet, clearly curious to see what Vanellope was going to say despite their hatred of her. "As I was saying. This competition would choose the next leader of Sugar Rush. For 6 months we will compete against one another by giving out speeches, flyers, good deeds, and more to win over the public and see who will be the next king or queen. Do you have any questions?"

"Yes, why should I agree to this tomfoolery?" The king questioned, his eyes twinkling in excitement and cautiousness. King Candy had to admit the composition did sound interesting. But he couldn't be sure if he should go through it just as of yet. Based off Vanellope's statement, if he lost then he would lose everything he had worked for.

"For the citizens of course," The glitch gently replied, her joy skyrocketing as she went for the jugular. No matter what King Candy thought after this he would never be able to turn down her competition now. "Don't you think the citizens should get a choice in who should lead them? They're deserve a breathe of fresh air after experiencing 15 plus years of the same old thing."

"B-But I—"

"I mean, it's not any of my business, but an older character like yourself may have polarizing views the others might not agree with," Vanellope continued, watching as parts of the crowd slowly started to eye her with interest instead of disgust. "I mean you did promise to legalize the marriage of NPCs 5 years ago. But, despite your promises, you never went through with the bill that would have made a lot of people happy. I wonder why that is? I know I wouldn't do something like that if I was in charge. If anything, I would legalize it within the first day of my rule."

Suddenly, small portions of the crowd began to applaud or cheer on Vanellope's vow. Which shocked both the glitch and king alike. And, as the minutes passed, at least one tenth of the crowd was cheering Vanellope on. "And, not only that, but I would also extend your rights! Under my leadership I would allow all of you to buy and own property, start your own businesses, and leave the game whenever you choose to. And you wouldn't need a signed letter of approval from me."

Now at least half of the crowd was losing their minds over Vanellope's propositions. And, while the glitch was sure that the half cheering her on was still wary of her, that didn't really matter. All that mattered was the fact that she had their attention and had left them with a good impression of her. "So, King Candy, do we have a deal?" And, as she turned her head to face the king, King Candy stared back in shock and disbelief. Unable to comprehend how Vanellope was already making a mark for herself.
