.
Baggi: Highly intelligent, carnivorous Bird Wyverns that hunt in packs. Noted for their blue scales and sharp glare. Baggi are feared for their ability to release a tranquillising fluid; it can knock out even humans for several seconds.
so very similar to the Jaggi I had had faced previously these Bird Wyverns were a seemingly familiar sight in the strange and foreboding tundra when i first encountered them, however their tranquillising spit makes them a fair bit more dangerous than their kin.
.
Baleful Gigginox: A subspecies of Gigginox that uses electricity to stun prey. It is believed to be a random mutation, and as such, sightings are relatively rare. It may be possible to weaken its electrical powers by destroying the capacitor organs on its body.
I have never encountered this particular subspecies myself, most likely do to there shear rarity, so i don't have to much to say here.
.
Banbaro: A monster marked by its furious charge and by the majestic twin horns that uproot trees and gouge at the earth as it runs.
Bam-bar-o brute wyvern's big adventure!... sorry the song that some other A-listers made for this guy is never far form my mind when talking about these brute wyverns. big fluffy Antekadrome (yes i know they aren't related to Anteka at all), these loveable idiots somehow manage to find themselfs in almost every corner of the new world. why they travel to places they have absolutely no business being no one knows.
.
Barioth: Wyverns that rule the eternally frozen Tundra. Barioth use their huge tusks and spiked scales to move freely atop the slippery ice; this ability makes them very difficult to keep up with.
facing these guys taught me the importance of knowing where to focus my efforts more than any other monster I've ever hunted.
.
Barnos: Fervid wingdrakes that have flourished under harsh living conditions. They target intruders with a unique acidic agent, and then attack as a swarm.
fuck Barnos, they're the new world's bullfango.
.
Barroth: Barroth usually remain beneath the mud, perhaps to shield themselves from heat; they are even known to fling mud to attack. They will charge in a frenzy at anything that disturbs their bogs. Barroth seek out ants, their favorite snack, and mark their territory with mud. They attack potential rivals with their devastating charging attack.
Barroth taught me a lot a bought being a monster hunter. how to face my foe head on, how to coup with the ear splinting roar most large monsters can unleash, the importance of weapon sharpness, and much more. i remember the days when i believed that they were a extremely powerful monster, how little the world was then.
.
Basarios: A large wyvern found in volcanic zones. They are the juvenile form of the Gravios. They have a steel-like carapace that requires powerful items to crack. Emits poison gas.
you got to have some level of fondness for the young flying wyvern. whether it's there derpy way of fighting or how nature decided that they needed EVERYTHING that it could cram into the little guy, Basarios is just a fun monster to hunt.
.
Bazelgeuse: A nefarious flying wyvern that travels the New World in search of prey. It scatters explosive scales over a wide area to prey on whatever gets caught in the blast.
picture this, the researchers have sent you out to capture a rathalos, nothing to hard. you've almost captured the wyvern the BAM everything starts exploding as this asshole drops his bomb scales everywere and you get carted. there fun to hunt, when your hunting them, and they can be useful sometimes if you play it right, but it gets aggravating after the hundredth time.
.
Beotodus: This piscine monster's wedge-shaped head allows it to freely swim through the tundra snow. Frequently seen flinging snow at prey.
a lot of hunters seem to hate piscine wyverns but Beotodus is actually a really neat member of the classification. by no means a difficult monster to face but you cant deny it is perfectly suited to it's environment.
.
Black Diablos: These black-shelled Diablos are treated as a subspecies, but are actually just normal female Diablos in heat. The color change is a warning to other creatures, as they tend to become extremely aggressive during mating season.
not much more to say aside from what the Guild statement covers really, it pretty much covers it all.
.
Black Gravios: A large wyvern found in volcanic zones. They possess a fiery breath attack and the ability to emit a sleeping gas. They also have extremely hard scales that deflect most weapon attacks.
when a young Basarios heads to a volcano a little to early, you get a Black Gravios. more aggressive do to being burnt before they were ready for the volcanic heat they pose a larger threat than the base Gravios.
.
Blackveil Vaal Hazak: A Vaal Hazak variant encrusted with spores that spew a torrent of toxic effluvium at any who draw close.
Vaal Hazak was bad enough, we didn't need an even more unnerving version the fungus that grows within the dragon's clock of rotting flesh merged with the dragon's effuvim it created something much worse than the sum of its parts.
.
Blango: A Primatius covered entirely in white fur. Known to move in packs and led by a Blangonga. The Blangonga exerts tight control over the group, and any call to gather will be met immediately by the rank and file Blangos.
the first ever Fanged Beast i encountered, though back then the classification was called Pelagus.
.
Blangonga: Leader of a Blango pack, it is twice as large and recognized by its giant fangs, whiskers, and head-crown. It sends its pack to attack any trespassers. Its jumping power allows it great mobility in its home range of the snowy mountains.
the larger, Adult, Blango was a real wall for me after i was demoted and reassigned to Poke, between my lower quality gear and my inexperience with fanged beasts, the big snow monkey was a difficult creature to hunt the first few times i faced it.
.
Bloodbath Diablos: A desert legend tells of the brave armies sent out against the unimaginable cruelties that had besieged their cities and nations. None of them returned alive, and only the sands remained as witnesses of their efforts. This story has no hero or happy ending, only the wyvern known as "Bloodbath". Requires special permission to hunt.
Oh boy, this kids is why you don't poach monsters. some jackass went after a young Diablos for it's horns and tail and left it to die after taking them, kinda like those assholes that make sharq fin soup. Only the Diablos didn't die, it just got so pissed it became stronger than some elder dragons. i wasn't one of the hunters that faced this deviant, but i almost wish i was, if only to have seen this monster first hand. alas all i have is the guild statment about it and Aiden's stories.
.
Blue Yian Kut-Ku:A bird-like wyvern with a huge beak and large ears that splay open when it is angered. With its sensitive hearing it dislikes loud noises. It is smaller but faster than other wyverns.
Blue Yian Kut-Ku. Yian Kut-Ku, but blue. there is really nothing more than that, even the guild statement on it is the same as a regular Yian Kut-Ku.
.
Bnahabra: Flying insects that inhabit most environments. They attack invaders with a paralyzing poison and lay eggs in carrion together with a bodily fluid that hastens decomposition. Attracted to light, they will gather around any fire.
fracking corpse wasps. these annoying buggers sometimes had population booms that made the whole D. island buzz. still they are better than vespoids.
.
Boltreaver Astalos: Whoever gets caught in the lightning shot by the unique Boltreaver Astalos will vanish without a trace, leaving only their shadow behind. The electrical properties of its shell allow it to glide through the air and create electromagnetic charges that can be used in chasing down prey. Requires special permission to hunt.
supposedly even crazier than a normal Astalos and far stronger, I would like to face one first hand one day, see if it lives up to Aiden's stories.
.
Brachydios:Brute wyverns coated with an explosive green substance. The material is thought to be a unique myxomycete-or slime mold-that is primed to explode by the Brachydios's own saliva. Note that these crafty creatures can also deliver powerful foreleg strikes.
I had already been transferred from the Moga region before Brachydios was discovered, so my first real encounter with the brute wyvern was in the new world years later, before than i only knew about it through Cha-Cha's letters. but having faced it myself now, i can say that it is a joy to fight this monster. for awhile monster hunting had become... not boring but... predictable, Brachydios changed that. facing brachy i felt almost like i was back in the shores of Moga hunting lagicrus for the first time again.
.
Brute Tigrex:Blackish brown scales and a stronger roar set this Tigrex subspecies apart. Extremely aggressive, even by Tigrex standards.
I was quite familiar with Tigrex by the time i left Poke and headed to the new world, but I'd never faced it's subspecies before. Brute Tigrex is the tigrex of tigrex if that makes sense. everything that makes tigrex the monster it is is turned up to 11 in Brute Tigrex, and Tigrex was already turned to 11.
.
Bulldrome: The powerful leader of the wild boars known for its enormous tusks. More aggressive than a Bullfango, it is known to rush into a fight, and is extremely proficient at locating a foe.
" More aggressive than a Bullfango" Somehow. Somehow Bulldrome manages to be even worse than a Bullfango. but i will say that it's meat tastes even better than a Bullfango at lest.
.
Bullfango: A large wild boar. Foul tempered, they will charge hunters on sight. They are aggressive and powerful, so beware! They are often hunted for their meat, which many hunters find delicious.
Its bullfango. every hunter has heared of them. The most hated monster of all time, its only saving grace it that it's delicious.
