Forward: There are very few monsters with names that start with E currently known to the guild. As such this chapter will also include my notes on endemic life found in the new world.

.
Ebony Odogaron: This Odogaron subspecies is forever on the prowl for its next meal, and is often seen carrying fresh kills in its mouth. Reports indicate it goes into a frenzy upon eating.
The commission still hasn't nailed down what exact environmental factors caused a subspecies of Odogaron to develop during the events of the legiana migration. However, the leading theory is that it was in response to a food shortage within the Rotten Vale. Unlike the normal Odogaron, this subspecies is much more capable of adapting to deferent environments, as a result Ebony Odogaron has been encountered in every explored region of the New World.
Elderfrost Gammoth: A Gammoth so gargantuan, ancient and strong that it may be mistaken for the foot of a mountain. Its great age and mountain home have given it the nickname "Elderfrost". Very few people have ever seen it fight, but it sometimes causes wild blizzards that race down the mountain and ravage the plains. Requires special permission to hunt.
I have only faced one of the fated four in my journey as a hunter. However, Aiden's stories of his encounters with then, and my own Glavenus hunts have made me egger for the day when I will face the other members of the fated four, along with their Deviants.
Emerald Congalala: A Congalala variant with green fur and a more prominent crest. Even more ravenous than ordinary Congalalas, they can store a greater amount of gas in their body, which means that they can produce a wider-reaching flatulence when threatened or provoked.
Although in their Guild bio they are referred to as a variant, to my knowledge Emerald Congalala are actually a rare species, I might well be wrong on that however, I'm not sure. Regardless Emerald Congalala are A bit more pleasant to fight as they use their…. Ah... natural projectiles far less often. At least in my experience.

Endemic Life: due to the sheer number of endemic life in the New World, I'll only cover the ones I've personally captured in the time before I left the New World.
.
.
Shepherd Hare: Just look at these ginormous ears! Fluffy, AND they can discern precise sounds to avoid danger! They're so clever it hurts!
Shepherd hares make great pets once they calm down.
Pilot Hare: Ooh, this is a rare one! It's warm to the touch like a little ball of sunshine! I bet this little guy just LOVES picnics!
Pilot hares are a great of a pet as Shepherds but with a spectacular fur color.
Forest Gekko: These puppies have cute, beady little eyes that can pick out even the smallest of prey against a patch of brightmoss!
These remind me of an extremely hard to catch lizard from my childhood.
Wildspire Gekko: Barroth aren't the only ant-eaters in this desert! These guys love ants so much they'd even give Barroth a run for their money!
These remind me of an easy to catch lizard from my childhood.
Gloom Gekko: What a garish color for such a dark place! It just screams, "Danger! Do not touch! And don't put me ANYWHERE near your mouth!"
Despite there coloring, gloom gekkos aren't poisonous, they just look like it.
Moonlight Gekko : A rare lizard whose brightmoss diet causes its tail to glow, a trait is uses to lure in prey.
I love having a few of these in what ever room I am staying in, seeing them run around at night is pretty fun.
Vaporonid: Years of animal research and I've never seen a web being made! Even if you destroy a web, it just magically appears again the next day!
I don't like some spiders, but Vaporonids don't bother me. It's the ones with legs you can't see that get me.
Scavantula: These budies just love rotten meat! If you were to drop dead in the Rotten Vale, you might even be their next meal!
Like I said, if I can see their legs spiders don't really bug me.
Revolture: These birds are always after large monsters' leftovers. If you spot one, a monster's probably lurking nearby!
Indeed, Revoltures are a tell tell sign of large monsters in the new world.
Blissbill: Their perfectly round eyes and heart-shaped faces make them popular pets. You may have seen some in Astera, too!
I had a Blissbill for a bit, they can sometimes mimic sounds.
Dung Beetle: These fellas roll dung around all day long. Need some dung? Then look no further! What you do with it is none of my business!
Most non-hunters are probably wondering why in the name of the five would anyone want dung. Well, dungpods and dungbombs are the easiest way to make monsters back off. Think about it, if it smells bad to you imagine how bad it is for monsters.
Bomb Beetle: Is that an explosive rock it's rolling around!? It must have astounding thermal resistance! Let me just touch its legs to- OUCH!
These guys can be a life saver. Yeah the rocks they carry are hot enough to burn you if you're not careful but I cannot understate how useful throwing a small explosive rock in a monsters face is.
Paratoad: It stores paralyzing gas in its body and releases it when threatened! See? Here, in its soma-AGH! I...I can't...mooove..
Paratoads are incredible. They create a neurotoxin strong enough to effect Elder Dragons… just… don't get caught in it yourself.
Sleeptoad: It's developed organs that produce a sleep gas in order to survive in the Coral Highlands! When provoked it releases-ZZZZZZzzzzz...
Did anybody say wakeup hit?
Nitrotoad: This one stores explosive fluids! But don't worry, I've learned my lesson with toads, I won't touch this one... Uh...is it leaking...?
Getting a monster to trigger one of these guys is so satisfying.
Wiggler: It wiggles in the wind and isn't blown away because it's anchored in to the ground! Let's have a look at its feet... URRGH! It's stuck...
Wigglers are just fun. They really are.
Carrier Ant: They can lift incredible weights, and even made the Wildspires. They could probably even carry you! If you put down your huge weapon...
I have actually had a group of Carrier Ants steal some supplies.
Emperor Hopper: Authoritative expression... crown-like head and mantle-like wings... *gasp* A real emperor! F-Forgive us our impertinence!
In the new world we don't really tend to graft with insects for some reason. But Emperor Hoppers can be used to make many thing if your smithy knows how. Or if you know how to shove them into the right rocks.
Tyrant Hopper: Sometimes nature makes violent evolutions. BUT! To fully understand it, we must yet reach out a hand and... OUCH! I-It bit me!
He an angy Emperor Hopper.
Iron Helmcrab: Wow! It really DOES look like a helmet! And it's carrying...a Piercing Pod? Well, I'm sure it won't mind if I take-Ow!
Any endemic life that has slinger ammo is extremely useful. Asid from that though I don't realy have an opinion on any Helmcrab really.
Soldier Helmcrab: They carry Slinger Thorns and march around in groups just like soldiers! Does that make thorns their rations? Do they...eat it? Ew...
With the recent upgrades to the slinger, thornpods are even more useful than before.
Stonebill : These clever kiddos raise a ruckus when a large monster enters their territory. Just amazing, really. It's —OK, SHUT UP ALREADY!
Stonebills can get LOUD! Like sonic bomb loud.
Rime Beetle : These cuties roll snowballs, but they aren't building snowmen. They're gathering crystals of ice into big crystalbursts. So talented!
Most insects don't like the cold, so Rime Beetles are interesting in that regard.
Pearlspring Macaque: Nothing beats a hot spring when it's cold! These monkeys get it. They also get minor heat stroke from staying in too long. Oof!
A common sight in the Seliana gathering hub. Pearlspring Macaque are very social animals.
Crowned Prawn: These glowy boys light up dark caves! They rock the creepy-cute thing, but I don't need to see a whole bunch wriggling at once...
There kinda neat.
Duffel Penguin: Looking at these guys, I can hear their moms saying, "If you're cold, put on a jacket!" Hmm, does the hood come off? ...No. SORRY!
Somehow, they are both bumbling idiots and graceful creatures at the same time. They can be hilarious to watch.
Arrowhead Gekko: These guys eat the bugs that gather around nutritious nuts. So it's as if their arrow-shaped heads point straight to bug buffets!
Arrowheads are interesting to look at. They often gather around rare plants.
Climbing Joyperch: Oh my Wrog! This is THE quintessential ancestor of amphibians! Just as masterful in the water as on land... Magnificent!
The fact that they have remand unchanged for millennia is fascinating.
Pink Parexus: These fish are found all over the New World, show of some amazing primitive biology, AND they're easy fishing even for beginners!
Easy to catch and tasty as well. Very boney though.
Burst Arowana: This fish is literally bursting with explosive chemicals! It hides in weedy shallows, but it'll run away if you wiggle your bait!
Hunters, you know this fish. Bust Arowana are widely used by hunters for so many things.
Bomb Arowana: They're even burstier than regular Arowana, if you can believe it! They're sensitive to movement, so don't wiggle that bait!
As well known, if not more so, that Burst Arowana. There uses are manyfold.
Andangler: They like to draw Flying Meduso to their light and... CHOMP! It'd definitely be worth staying up all night to watch them in action!
They remind me of a certain Levaithan.
Hopguppy: Its specialized pectoral fins allow it to skip on water! It can even GLIDE! You won't be catching this one with a fishing pole!
But… if you do what I normally do and use the capture net to fish….
Petricanths: Previously known via fossils, this species was thought extinct. Finding otherwise was a real surprise!
Living history! Cool looking history at that!
Whetfish: They like to swim around in relatively deep water. Try wiggling the lure if it doesn't bite right away!
If you don't know what a Whetfish is then you must have been living under a rock. EVERYONE uses these guys for both food and sharpening things.
Gastronome Tuna: A fish that eats anything- allowing you to sometimes get items from its stomach. These big fish like to snatch away bait! Use the rod's flexibility to your benefit to bring it in and be sure to check it for items!
Just a big'ol tuna fish.
King Marlin: I knew that these are known to approach the shore in search of prey, but great job catching it! And not losing your pole in the process!
There related to Gastronome tuna if I'm not mistaken.
Goldenfish: Golden-scaled cave-dwellers, they'll hightail it if you wiggle your bait! They also like to nibble before taking a real bite, so don't get duped!
There scales are actually infused with goldstone.
Platinumfish: Platinum-scaled cave-dwellers, they'll hightail it if you wiggle your bait! You're going to need a lot of patience if you want to catch one.
There scales are actually infused with platinum, making them even more valuable than Goldenfish.
Goldenfry: Small cave-dwelling fish with precious scales, they'll try to psych you out with a nibble, so be patient - and don't wiggle your bait!
Goldenfry are fairly closely related to goldenfish and Platinumfish.
Sushifish: These fish are useful in restorative items for their high nutritional value! Just wiggle your bait in some deep water or blast them out!
One of the most commonly ate fish out there. Sushifish are abundant and nutritious.
Gunpowderfish: Watchout - Their bodies contain the same substances as Devil's Blight! They're hard to spot, but they react noticeably to moving bait.
Almost as useful as burst arowana.
Glass Parexus : These fish have transparent scales, so you can see their skeleton and organs. They only live in cold environments.
Fascinating in a eerie way.
Downy Crake: You caught a Downy Crake!? They've been seen on the backs of monsters before, but you're the first person EVER to catch one!
SOOO FLUUFFFYY! Extremely hard to get close to, shy birds from the new world. They make for fantastical pets if you can manage to capture one but it takes them years to get use to you.
Cactuar: A mysterious creature from [redacted] that looks like a cactus but is not. Releases 1000 needles when struck.
I have talked about Catuar before, about how the [… … … … …. . redacted … … ….. … ….] Making them an invasive species. Thankfully they haven't upset the balance of nature.
Cactuar Cutting: A mysterious creature from [redacted] that looks like a cactus but is not. Very fast when it needs to escape.
Verry fast indeed.
Flowering Cactuar Cutting: A mysterious creature from [redacted] that looks like a cactus but is not. Sprouts only once in a few decades.
I don't know how I managed to catch this guy.
Moly: Don't be fooled by the sleepy face on these critters! Some say they're the ones who shaped the landscape of the Guiding Lands.
Moly are extremely adaptable and have a variant for every region.
Cobalt Flutterfly: It's so pretty I'd mistaken it for a flower! The scales reflect the light into such a deep blue that it can only be called a miracle!
It is a really nice blue.
Omenfly: See those glowing bellies? Usually they're yellow, but they turn red near big monsters...W-Why are they glowing red near me!?
Useful for tracking monster movements when Scout Flies haven't yet picked up the scent.
Augurfly: They only emerge on rainy days, and it's said that the day after is guaranteed to be sunny! They're like good weather charms!
Much like the more common Omenfly, only in a very similar shade of blue to a Cobalt Butterfly.
Scalebat: Upon inspection, these seem to have scales. And claws...and fangs! Great Gravios! They're mini-wyverns! I've made a huge discovery!
They really are tiny wyvrens.
Elegant Coralbird: Look! A female Coralbird! They can hover silently in the air, and they can eat coral! What superbly adapted creatures!
Coralbirds pick the polyps from the coral and are capable of hovering in place like a hummingbird.
Dapper Coralbird: Coralbirds only allow one chosen male into their flock. In other words, this guy's the top dog- or bird... You know what I mean!
Dapper Coralbirds are far more dramatically colored that the female coralbird.
Vigorwasp: The fluid that it collects in this sac here is...that's right, Vitalily nectar! Its healing properties should be useful in a pinch.
The only kind of wasp I don't hate, Vigorwasps have saved me a time or two.
Giant Vigorwasp: Its nectar has stronger healing properties than average, and it even releases a healing mist when its sac is ruptured!
More potent is an understatement.
Flying Meduso: Seeing Flying Meduso is a dead give-away that there's a wind current nearby! Find it, and YOU too can fly like the wind!
A truly fantastic sight indeed, Flying Meduso are a otherworldly sight.
Flashfly: Wow, this puppy's BRIGHT! Even a large monster would be stunned by it, I'm sure. It's like a living Flash Bomb...with wings!
Flash bombs are made with flashflys Allbert.
Grandfather Mantagrell: Be gentle with this fella. GENTLE! If you hit it with even ONE shot from your slinger, it'll come careening down to the ground.
The only word for these guys is majestic.
Moon Slug: They stay in caves during the day, but come out to feed at night. If you see a bunch of them, keep an eye out for a rare guest!
Very similar in appearance to Flying Meduso but completely unrelated biologically.
Woodland Pteryx: Serrated teeth, and those remiges... So much in common with prehistoric birds that it's a veritable living fossil!
Surprisingly friendly.
Forest Pteryx: I'm so excited my hands are shaking... Its red crown...and that blue plumage! To think it was in the Ancient Forest all along!
Pretty bird.
Hercudrome: Only seven of these are said to exist in the entire forest! To think that I'd ever see one in my lifetime... I'm... *sob* I'M SO HAPPY!
Although rare to a fault in the new world, they are surprisingly common in the old world.
Gold Hercudrome: The Bringer of Light? The Bug of Brilliant Gold? I...I'm speechless! My...my heart feels like it's been dipped in golden bliss!
As far as I know this subspecies is only present in the new world.
Copper Calappa: Holy Hermitaurs! A shiny crab!? Looks like it'll drop something if you follow it. Wait, isn't this a piece of gold!? NICE!"
I wish there was more carapaceons.
Gold Calappa : Look at the shell on this thing! It makes me just wanna pick it up and scream "big gold haul coming through!"
I once heard about a golden Shen Goren, reminds me of that story.
Gold Helmcrab: Wowzers, even Helmcrabs have gone gold! Is it holding... a Dragon Pod!? Guess when you gotta eat, you gotta eat!
Like most denizens of the Caverns of El Dorado, its plated in goldstone.
Shiny Gold Helmcrab: This little one isn't too different from your regular Gold Helmcrab, but it's a lot shinier. Guess it hoarded more grub for itself?
I wonder why this place has THIS much goldstone…
Gold Scalebat: These scales reflect the light so perfectly, they look like pure gold! I thought Scalebats only liked the dark, but these babies wanted to shine!
They actually share some of the same physiology as a gold rathian.

Side Note: Although it hasn't been officially recognized by the Guild's archivists yet, I once faced a Puki Puki deviant that was addicted to Parratoads and could capture them to harness their paralytic gas. Aside form that it wasn't any stronger than a normal Puki. In fact the Deviant dubbed Parratung Puki Puki was a little weaker do starvation brought about by its addiction.

Q&A: No questions this time :(
