Chapter 19: Being a family again
It was strange for Logan, waking up in an unfamiliar bed yet it felt like home more so than the castle ever did. As he stared up at the grand 'R' logo embellished on the headboard he smiled to himself ("I'm at my father's mansion with my mum and dad, how crazy it this!?"). He kicked off the blankets moving to the washroom to get ready, when he emerged fully dressed he spotted the bed had been made and the curtains drawn back, the staff clearly work fast here.
Logan approached one of the grand windows in his room looking out at the picturesque scenery of Millfield's, his thoughts turned more depressing as he thought back to his time in the castle. All those years stolen from him serving under a man whom he called father but was far from that title. He balled his hands into fists as he punched a nearby bookcase cracking the wood a few books fell out, shaking his hand Logan released a breath he'd been holding turning on his heel walking out of his room.
Across the mansion Angelia was already up and dressed having a cup of tea with breakfast alongside her husband. They were discussing Reaver's rule over the industry, Angelia was saddened to hear about the shooting of workers, but she knew her husband he doesn't take well to rebellion of any kind. After breakfast they walked hand in hand to one of the reception rooms that had a grand piano nearby a seating area. The room was large and spacious, so even with the piano and seating area you could still host a small party in this one room. Reaver kissed the back of his wife's hand then moved over to the piano, she eyed him frowning but smiling.
"What are you doing, my sweet Reaver?"
"Enough talk of industrialised chit chat, I want to hear my beautiful wife sing again. Like you did at that dreadful street party at Bloodstone where you wore that divine dress… When you graced us with your voice on our island entertaining those poor peasants… need I go on?"
Angelia approached her husband as he sat at the piano flexing his fingers out over the ivory keys. She snaked her hands around his waist from behind kissing down his neck until he turned to face her snapping her lips with his in a fiery kiss, she pulled away giving him a wink then plopped her notebook on his lap.
"Go on then. Surprise me *wink*"
Reaver flicked through the pages of Angelia's notebook, the pages were dated, he went back to the time just before they lost the children. He found what he was looking for, a page titled for Hannah's 2nd birthday, on Hannah's birthday Angelia sung her a song which became ingrained in the children's memories as they would occasionally hum it before they lost their memories.
What they didn't know was small fragments of the song was still in the children's memories, Logan would often find himself humming part of the tune then stop not knowing how he knew the song or how it would continue. Reaver started playing the tune on the piano, Angelia immediately knew what he picked, she gasped in happy shock as she placed a soft kiss on Reaver's cheek then stepped back twirling around the open floor space as she began to sing.
"Dancing bears, painted wings, things I almost remember. And a song someone sings. Once upon a December. Someone holds me safe and warm. Horses prance through a silver storm. Figures dancing gracefully across my memories.
*opera note holding*
Someone holds me safe and warm. Horses prance through a silver storm. Figures dancing gracefully across my memories. Far away, long ago, glowing dim as an ember, things my heart use to know. Things it yearns to remember and a song someone sings…. Once upon a December…"
Logan picked up on the singing, another memory came flooding back to him, he stumbled back clutching his head as the last of his memory block faded away. He leant against a nearby wall sliding down to the floor holding his head as all his memories came back, he remembers Hannah's party when she turned 2yrs old. He remembers seeing Reaver and Angelia shower her with gifts, he remembers hugging his mother at breakfast and he remembers the goodbye Reaver gave them telling them to be strong.
Tears trickled down his cheeks as he reached up feeling the wetness on his face through his black gloves watching the liquid absorb into the fabric. Logan started to laugh wiping the tears away he was so happy he could finally remember it all. Getting up off the floor he ran to the source of the singing, when he reached the doors to the room he slowly opened the door. Logan saw his father at the piano providing the tune then he spotted his mother twirling as she sung the sweet song, as the song came to an end Logan entered the room properly getting his parents attention.
"Logan, you're up? Did we wake you sweetheart?"
"No, you did not. I heard your singing… I remember that song, you sung it on Hannah's second birthday"
"You… you remember that son?"
"Yes, father. I do. It was like a ton of bricks hit me suddenly when I heard that song I recalled all my memories that I thought I had lost"
Angelia quickly approached Logan embracing him in a comforting motherly hug, Logan relaxed into the hug letting a few more stray tears trickle down. Reaver cleared his throat standing from the piano to address his wife and son.
"Logan, my boy. You really need to get a handle on your emotions. You can't show anyone you have feelings, it will make you seem weak"
"Reaver! Leave our son be. He's had an exhausting revelation, he has found his memories"
"It's alright mum, I get what dad is saying"
"Hm smart lad"
Reaver smirked at his son, Logan pulled away from Angelia wiping away any remaining tears then an idea hit him. Logan turned to his father taking a more regal professional stance.
"Father?"
"Yes, son"
"Would you help train me? I know Hannah-Rose is leading the rebellion, but I'd like to help her in any way I can"
Reaver quirked an eyebrow up at his son flicking his eyes down then back up again as he's weighing out the prospect of training his son. He's never trained anyone, doesn't have the patience for other people much easier to shoot them.
"Didn't you receive training at the castle?"
"Yes, but you're the hero of skill. If anyone can give me worthwhile pointers on how to use a gun, it's you dad"
"*sigh* Oh. All right, fine. Come on, follow me"
Angelia bit her bottom lip trying to hide her snickering as she watched Reaver's resolve dissolve letting his son persuade him to give him some advice. She knew Reaver didn't like teaching anyone anything. Angelia followed the duo hanging back, so she wouldn't distract their training session. Reaver pushed open the double doors, Logan looked down over the ledge seeing the wheel of misfortune.
"Don't worry Logan, I won't push you in *wink* Besides your sister came out victorious"
"You what!? Hannah was down there fighting who-knows what and you didn't help?"
"Remember what I told you, I couldn't. Not at that point, she needs to build allies. I don't think her filthy little rebel leader would trust her or fight by her side if she found out daddy-kins was the devilishly handsome Reaver"
"I guess… but I still don't like the idea of my sister fighting for her life"
At that moment Angelia perked up, she was stood behind them leaning against the wall with her arms folded. She unfolded her arms walking up to Logan placing a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"Your father did the best he could in a bad situation. He did actually help your sister, even though it was very risky he did it anyway. As you said he didn't want to see her getting hurt. Remember Logan she is a hero, her strength, skill and will is much stronger than any other mere person… and the same can be said for you too"
"Me? A hero?"
"The blood is in you, you came from two heroes remember. You just need to activate your heritage if you want to live a life as a hero"
Removing her hand from his shoulder Angelia caressed her thumb against Logan's face giving him a sincere smile earning one from him in return. Angelia stepped back letting her son and husband go back to their training session. Reaver flashed his cocky devilish grin at his wife giving her a wink as she stood back to watch them train.
"Right, we won't be going down there but we can practice from up here"
Reaver started the wheel, it span around finally landing on the hollow men icon.
"Perfect, these decrepit bags of bones will make easy targets. Come along Logan"
They moved along to the next room where down below it was all dark and swamp like, small wisps darted into the ground as hollow men sprung from the dirt. Their glowing green and blues orbs for eyes lighting the otherwise dark room. Reaver pulled out his trusty dragon stomper he took his proud stand picking off 3 hollow men then twirled the gun around his fingers holstering his pistol. Logan pulled out his gun, it was one from the royal armoury that Logan read about and asked for specifically, Briar's Blaster. He took aim and shot 2 hollow men missing the third. Reaver laughed shaking his head at his son's lack of ability and aim, Logan shot him a death glare which made Reaver laugh harder. Wiping away a tear he quietened down to a chuckle.
"Sorry, son couldn't help myself. Take aim again"
Reaver watched Logan get into firing position, he could immediately see why his 3rd aim was off. He approached his son grabbing his arm lowering it slightly, then gently tapped his foot back an inch. He put his face very close to Logan's to see where he's aiming earning an eye roll from Logan, Reaver spotted his son rolling his eyes in frustration but decided to ignore it.
"Ok, now try. Take out the remaining hollows"
In much quicker succession Logan picked off the remaining hollow men, not missing a single shot. He did a half smile looking pleased with himself he turned to face his dad but Reaver already started the wheel again, it landed on Hobbe's.
"Come on. Slow dead things are one thing but small quick tough bastards like Hobbe's are another matter… Oh and another thing"
"Yes dad?"
"Don't roll your eyes at me again or I will push you down there"
Angelia couldn't hold back her snickering as Reaver told off his son, clearly because he's an adult Logan thinks he can get away with his moody attitude. Not a wise move when your father is Reaver, he doesn't appreciate rudeness in any form. Logan looked worried when Reaver said he'll push him into the pit, keeping his mouth shut Logan looked at his dad in an apologetic manner. Reaver rolled his eyes at him tilting his head to the side indicating him to follow into the next room. They practice in three more rooms, by the end of it Logan was landing a perfect shot every time making Reaver swell with pride. Seeing his son take aim and fire killing everything instantly made Reaver very proud of his son, though he won't tell him that. They were just about to call it quits but in the last room with the Sand Furies, one of the creatures managed to escape climbing up the walls landing behind Reaver and Logan.
"Dad look out!"
Before they could react, Angelia put a bullet through the Sand Furies head, eyes widened in shock Logan looked over at the source of the bullet that saved them. He saw his mother holding the smoking gun, she relaxed giving them a wink spinning her gun around before holstering it.
"What? You think your father is the only one who knows how to hold a gun?"
"I was perfectly able to defend myself, dear Angelia"
"Uh-huh sure you were husband"
Having enough of the wheel of misfortune Reaver opened the doors allowing his wife and son to walk out then closed the doors behind him locking it. Curious of his mother's abilities Logan asked Angelia what she can show him. Not wanting to intrude Reaver quickly got himself a glass of wine following the pair into a wide open spaced room taking a seat in an armchair across the room. Angelia drew her katana holding it ready, Logan drew his cutlass it looked very similar to Reaver's old cutlass from his Bloodstone days.
"Ok, I can show you some simple flourishes, chain attacks or advanced blocking?"
"Shall we start with flourishes?"
"Of course, Logan. Now here is one of my flourishes"
Angelia took her stance lowering herself slightly legs spread apart ready to attack, she focused her energy towards her blade then released spinning around rapidly then finishing the move slicing up into the air. Any opponent would've been thrown into the air split in half or mortally wounded. Reaver just sat back admiring his wife as she showed off her melee attacks, her body looked very tempting in her tight black trousers and thigh-high boots. The grip on his glass tightened as he day dreamed about having her over his desk again or on the chaise lounge or perhaps on the dining room table.
With Reaver distracted by his wife's well-endowed assets, he didn't pay much attention to what she was teaching their son next. Angelia knew Reaver was distracted, she's been with him long enough to see the tell-tale signs, smirking she decided to move onto advanced blocking. Logan questioned what the difference is between blocking and advanced, Angelia smiled saying it's about reacting at a milliseconds notice. She told him to keep practicing whilst she grabbed something out of her satchel, it was her pop gun she had from her childhood. Not real bullets just stone balls, they won't kill just really hurt in you come in direct firing line.
"Logan, watch this"
Angelia fired her pop gun at Reaver, since he was so distracted, that didn't stop his heroic blood from reacting. Reaver's eyes flicked from his wife's ass to the incoming pellet, he quickly spun his cane around blocking the pellet as it split in two bouncing onto the floor. Reaver got up from his chair clearing his throat, he walked past Angelia with a mischievous smile, as he passed her without Logan seeing he pinched her ass chuckling when she yelped in surprise. Logan caught his mother's yelp looking at her with worry she shook her head then threw Logan the pop gun.
"Go on, see if you can catch him out. I've tried for years"
At this point Reaver was across the room with his back to Angelia and Logan refilling his wine glass. With a deep breath Logan fired the toy gun at his father hoping not to piss him off too much. Reaver was one step ahead, he overheard Angelia anyway, he held the cane behind him in the right place to deflect the pellet.
"Why must you both attack me? This is a very expensive chateau nau du pape, don't make me spill it or I won't be impressed"
Another shot fired this time Reaver was facing them and deflected it with ease.
"Really, Logan. You're as bad as your mother"
"Logan, do you see what your father is doing. He is judging the exact point of the bullet before its reached him, so he can deflect it"
"I thought I was done teaching? Why am I being treated as target practice"
Logan threw the pop gun back to his mother who aimed it at Logan, before she fired she told him to prepare himself and Reaver reminded Logan he does have a healthy supply of health potions should he need them. Frowning at the impending possible pain Logan got his blade ready then as his mother fired the gun he stepped to the side avoiding the bullet. With a pleased smile Angelia praised him then quickly fired again trying to catch him out, that one he did deflect with the blade but not very well it did skim his shoulder causing a tear in his shirt. Angelia asked if he wanted to stop but Logan shook his head, Reaver then snatched the toy gun out of his wife's hands aiming it at Logan.
"You won't like this son, and let's be honest, this will be the first time I've shot someone and not enjoyed it. If you truly want to help you sister you can't take a break, you think the purple guards or bandits or Hobbe's will hesitate to kill you?"
Logan shook his head lifting his blade ready to block.
"Good lad"
Reaver then fired multiple times, Logan did deflect most of the pellets, a few scrapped him causing a stinging pain. Angelia got a little worried but Reaver stood by her holding her close to him. He whispered their son needs to do this otherwise he'll get himself killed, Angelia knew Reaver was right she just didn't like seeing her son get hurt but then she went through hell to become the hero she is.
After an hour of vigorous dodging and deflecting Reaver ceased firing, he gave Angelia back her toy gun giving her a forceful lingering kiss smirking as he pulled away. He then produced a second glass of wine handing it to Logan. As they took a moment to relax they all looked out the window seeing the night begin to fall then Angelia looked at her husband with concern.
"How will we help Hannah if she doesn't know who we are?"
Reaver furrowed his brow in thought and concern but then Logan piped up.
"I have an idea"
Chapter 20: Revolt now or be trapped forever!
Since being in the mansion Logan had kept in contact with Jasper and Walter, they were both pleased to hear about his escape and twice as happy to discover his memories had returned. Among the letters he found some between his mother and father, he accidentally read a few revealing descriptions and had to throw the letter down in embarrassment but one he read by accident was one Angelia sent to Reaver, Logan also found the corresponding letter from Reaver to Angelia.
"Hm, I think this will help Hannah remember something"
Logan had been living in the mansion for a while, Hannah-Rose had returned from Aurora getting her final preparations ready for storm the castle with her allies. Logan's plan to jog Hannah's memory was for their mother to sing that childhood song. Of course, knowing the when and where's was the tricky part. But these letters will at least give Hannah and idea of who her parents are, not wanting to send of the originals Logan made a copy of the letters then posted them to someone he knows would tell Hannah about her parents, Ben Finn.
Waking up in the smelly underground sewers of the rebel headquarters, Ben nursing his stiff neck getting up off the floor stretching his limbs. They've been waiting for Hannah-Rose to return from the guild rooms, so they can plan their attack. Ben started polishing his rifle when Walter walked in holding two letters, one addresses to Walter (from Angelia asking for an update) and the other for Ben (from Logan without Walter's knowledge).
"Here. You daft nut, you got a letter"
"Me? I don't think I've received a letter specifically for me in years"
"Well, you're clearly in high demand now"
The envelope was quite fat which concerned Ben, he hoped it was some long rant from an old jealous lover from his Bloodstone pirate days or a wrong person letter. Either way he wanted to bin it and be done with it. He moved to a quiet corner to read the letter in peace, he was beyond shocked to see the name at the start of the letter, Logan.
Dear Captain Ben Finn,
Or is it Major Finn now? This is Logan, Hannah-Rose's brother. I am deeply sorry for what that despicable man did to Major Swift he will certainly meet a bloody death that I can guarantee.
That is not my reason behind writing to you. I've been informed you and my sister have become close, I'm not reading into it any further than I must. I have enclosed two letters; one from our mother to our father and the corresponding response letter from our father to our mother. Please let Hannah read them, she needs to remember her past life. She has no idea her memory was wiped when we were children, I've only just discovered now! The king is not our father just some imposter who stole the crown from our mother, who is very much alive.
Please give these letters to Hannah and don't let Walter steal them, I know you are all gearing up to revolt against the king and you will see us there.
Sincerely,
Prince Logan
"Well, shit. I wonder what's in these letters then"
Curiosity got the better of Ben, since Hannah-Rose hadn't returned yet he dug into the envelope pulling out two letters. Re-reading Logan's letter he knew the one ending with 'from your wife' is the first letter. Taking a deep breath Ben unfolded the paper reading the letter, Logan had helpfully scribbled letter 1 in the top corner so that also helped identify which should be read first.
Letter 1.
My dearest husband,
How did your visit go with the king? Did you see our children? I do hope they are safe and well. I was thinking back, being sentimental here sorry I know you hate it, to when they were babies. My beautiful baby Logan, I can't believe I carried him whilst we lived in Bloodstone, that seems like a lifetime ago. Then we were blessed again with our beautiful baby Hannah-Rose, you know I cannot thank you enough for that name. Who knew that back in Bloodstone where we partied together discussing nonsense that right there we would name the child we would later have together, funny how things work out.
I love you so much, it saddens me being apart from you like this. I think back to all the adventures we had together, and I know we will soon have plenty more, we are immortal after all.
If you see them, send my eternal thanks to Jasper and Walter for keeping our babies safe. Don't forget Treacle too, that dog is immortal too and one day she'll be travelling with us again.
I love you so much. You are my one and only. Without you my dear husband I'd have lost all hope for a brighter future.
Forever yours…
Your wife
Xxx
"So, Hannah's mother and father lived in Bloodstone at some point, hm I wonder why I never saw them? Maybe I did but back then I wouldn't have known. Both being immortal too… and the dog?! That's why Hannah has that dog it's her mother's dog. Hm I wonder if she knows the dog is immortal"
Ben unfolded the second letter which is the father responding to the mother.
Letter 2.
To my gorgeous wife,
Our children are fine my dear, you don't half worry. You know if that weasel of a king did anything to them I'd shoot him right between the eyes, to be honest the temptation has presented itself to me on numerous occasions. A lass if I shoot the prick I'd be in serious trouble, it's not like I have a private army or any rights to the throne, remember.
Getting sentimental on me again mon amour? I suppose I'll let you off just this once, but we can discuss that more in detail when I visit you next. You know I love you and I love our children Hannah-Rose and Logan, have no fear my sweet I'm not going anywhere. It hurts seeing them look up at me like I'm a stranger but it's how it must be until the time is right.
I always speak to Jasper and Walter in the highest of appraisals for what they're doing to bring up our children since we cannot. Though I get the feeling Walter is less than pleased with my demeanour, must be intimidated by my greatness not the first I tell you. Don't fret my love I'm not going to start arguing, or dare I think it, fight with your personal guard I choose him for a reason after all.
Your bloody dog is fine, I know you worry but Treacle is fine. She's Hannah's new best friend and companion. Still don't see how a dog can aid you in battle but I'm sure you'll have a snappy, witty comeback for me when you respond to me.
You know I love you my dear sweet hero queen. Without you Albion wouldn't be this great and with my love for you I know we'll be unstoppable, just give it time.
I always love you,
Your devoted husband

"Hmm, so the father has been keeping frequent contact with the children. But they don't know he is their father. I wonder if Hannah remembers seeing anyone in particular?"
Just as Ben folded the letters Hannah-Rose entered the room she made a beeline for the war room in the rebel base where her allies had gathered but Ben quickly intercepted her dragging her to the side.
"Can't leave me be for one second Captain Finn?"
"Ah, it's not about that you dirty minded royal *wink* I received this letter from your brother"
"Logie? What's wrong? Is he hurt?"
"Just come here before your spotted, you need to read these before we go into battle"
Ben dragged Hannah behind some boxes where he was situated to get some peace whilst reading the letters. He handed Logan's letter to her first as she read it her face dropped into a state of pure shock. She passed the letter back to Ben looking up at him with horror written across her face.
"My father is not the king… and my mother is still alive?!"
"You better read these then"
Ben handed her the other two letters, giving her letter number 1 first then the second from her father. As Hannah read the letters her mind was filling in the gaps, or at least trying to. She suddenly could remember her mother's face, it was only small fragments, but she remembered. It was like the air was knocked out of her lungs. After reading the second letter she had tears of relief spilling from her eyes, her memories were slowly coming back. At that moment Walter came out of the meeting wondering where Hannah had got to but then spotted her leg behind a box. He approached the crates leaning over seeing her sitting next to Ben reading some letters, he caught the tail end of the letters realising what they were he reached down snatching them away from the pair.
"Walter?! What are you doing?"
"Protecting you! It's what your mother wanted, she's- "
"Not dead! She's not dead Walter… All this time, why hide that from me?"
"Cartwright spun the story and your mother agreed to play along so you wouldn't go off to try and find her. She wanted you to grow up in a secure home surrounded by everything you need"
"I needed a mother!"
"You needed to build a revolution and you've done just that! Look around you, we are all here to fight by your side"
Walter quickly stepped up to the princess giving her a soothing hug at first, she tried to push away but he stroked her back soothing her. Soon her sobs subsided as her breath was caught in her throat she cleared her throat pulling away from the hug.
"Thanks Walter. While I don't condone what happened I know my mother will have her reasons"
"Death were her reasons Hannah-Rose, she would've been killed the second she steps into Albion. Issued by Cartwright himself the bastard"
"Now we have more of a reason to kill that tyrant"
Walter gave Ben a disapproving look, he didn't want his side remarks right this second now. Hannah pulled away from the hug properly taking a step back closer to Ben.
"Walter it mentions my father, but they don't use their names in these letters, who is my real father then if it's not Cartwright?"
"You will find out soon enough, but I can tell you your mother is called Angelia. Before she was queen she was a simple orphan girl who grew up on the streets of Bowerstone. Soon she become the hero of Bowerlake unlocking her hero abilities becoming well known as Lionheart but her true name is Angelia"
"Thank you, Walter, for telling me"
"No need to thank me. Now let's go start a revolution!"
Hannah-Rose wiped away her tears standing proudly next to Ben and Walter, she walked into the meeting kicking off the revolution. She explained they needed to get to the castle, but it will be safeguarded by many purple guards each of her allies voiced their plans of attack when all was said and done they each left to put the plan into action. When they all left the meeting room Ben grabbed Hannah's hand pulling her to one side out of eyesight, putting a hand around her waist he gave her a soft kiss on the cheek.
"Something to remember me by just in case"
Hannah gripped onto his uniform pulling him in as she kissed him passionately opening her mouth allowing his tongue access to hers. They both moaned into the fevered kiss eventually breaking apart when they heard Walter call Hannah's name.
"That. Is something to remember me by Captain Finn *wink*"
"Oh well, now I have to survive. If that's the kind of reward I get for standing by your side I wonder what I'll get for fighting and surviving this revolution?"
Hannah smirked at Ben leaning forward she whispered in his ear.
"*whisper* I'll let you have me, in anyway you want me… If you want me that is"
As she pulled away she saw his lustful gaze, he grabbed her hand guiding it down feeling his arousal through his trousers.
"Believe me Hannah, I want you"
Before it got anymore inappropriate they pulled away from each other running out into Bowerstone joining in the fight to the castle. The streets were either smashed up or on fire or barricaded by the purple guards. It was a flurry of fighting between Mistpeak dwellers, the royal army and rebels against the purple guards.
Back in Millfield's Angelia and Reaver walked up to the grand window seeing the town crier call out about an invasion happening right now. The revolution had started, Angelia grabbed her husbands hands in worry he slipped his hand behind her head pulling her in for a deep kiss. Pulling away with a wink and a cheeky smirk Reaver and Angelia looked at the doorway seeing Logan standing there holding a rifle waiting.
"When you're quite done mum and dad, shall we go help Hannah-Rose?"
"Right behind you son"
"Go with your mother Logan, I'll catch up. I need to go get something"
Angelia looked at her husband with a puzzled look he gave her a soft lingering kiss then walked off deeper into the mansion. Angelia was already wearing her adventuring outfit; her knee-high signature skirt dyed black and red with her corset and cropped jacket in the same colours with her black leather gloves and knee-high wedged-heeled black leather boots. The hero queen secured her pistol and katana slinging her satchel across her then headed out of the mansion. She called out to Reaver telling him to be careful and they'll see him soon, she hoped where ever he was in the mansion he'd hear her. Logan was already dressed in his royal outfit with the metal silver armour chest plate strapped to him with his cape. The pair disappeared into the night heading to the burning bright lights of Bowerstone, the fire made the horizon glow as a war raged on in the once peaceful streets of Bowerstone.
Reaver did hear Angelia's call to be safe, he smiled as he made his way to their bedroom. Entering through the secret bookcase door he went to the wardrobe at the very back of the room. Opening the doors, he saw exactly what he was after, he pulled the outfit forward laying it on the bed.
"Hello old friend"
Angelia and Logan made it to Bowerstone old quarter fighting numerous purple guards as they came at them. The guards immediately knew who they were as they were given strict orders to kill on sight should they see Angelia and now Logan, clearly the king wasn't happy with him leaving so abruptly.
"It's the old hero queen and prince Logan! Kill them by order of king Cartwright"
"Who's a bloody monster!"
Logan shouted back at the guards drawing his cutlass he stood in front of his mother protecting her, Angelia smiled at Logan being so protective, but she didn't need it. A guard tried to rush them Angelia saw him coming charging her force push she unleashed it sending the guard flying into the air where she then pulled out her pistol shooting him in the head then chest watching his corpse hit the floor. A few rebels overheard the guards coming to Angelia and Logan's aid.
"Is it true!? Are you the old hero queen?"
"Sure am. My death was greatly exaggerated, where's Hannah-Rose?"
"The princess? She's further up the street. Come on we'll take you"
Logan and Angelia followed the gang of rebels up the street, stopping to fight any rivals on there way up. Unfortunately, a grenade was thrown right in the middle of them Angelia quickly pushed Logan out of the way rolling to safety but the same couldn't be said to the poor rebels. Only one survived clutching onto his bloody wounds he pointed up the street telling them where to find Hannah.
"Come on, Logan"
"Those poor rebels"
"I know, when you've seen enough death like I have you get use to seeing it, but it doesn't make it any easier to see innocent people get hurt"
"Mum! Look"
Logan pointed in the distance and there they saw Hannah fighting off two guards she used a combo spell of force push and lightning to stun her enemies finishing them off with her pistol. Angelia ran up the street with Logan not far behind but then one of the guards pointed at Hannah-Rose and her comrades.
"You will not harm the king!"
This guard had a special bottle of potion on him, he threw it at the crowd a blue cloud of smoke surrounded them, and they vanished. Angelia feared for the worse bringing her hand up to her mouth in shock. Logan lunged for the guard pinning him to the floor pointing his gun to his head ordering for him to come clean about what just happened.
"What have you done to them?"
"Nothing yet, you ignorant child! King Cartwright trusted me with these potions to capture the rebels"
Angelia overheard and knew immediately what that was, teleportation potion, highly illegal since so many were made incorrectly causing misplacement of limbs or worse death. She prayed if Cartwright went down the black-market potion path before with the memory wipe he at least paid a professional to do it. Angelia tried to pull Logan off the guard, so she could analyse where the potion has been set to take them, but the guard pushed them both over.
"Logan, no!"
As Logan hit the ground he didn't hesitate he shot the guard killing him instantly but that meant the potions smashed around Logan and Angelia.
"Hold on son, we'll be ok"
With that they teleported into a dark cavern high above an open funnel leading into a cage.
