A/n Yes I m Aware That Sofia And Olaf met in Season 3" episode but not in this Au world" and you see how Life for Eles is Like without Anna" around
Today was a bright and sunny day, the birds were chirping and singing, flowers blooming and swaying in the breeze, yes today was a perfect day, except it wasn't.
When Sofia woke up she was still a bit dazed and confused, but then it all came back to her and she let out a groan of embarrassment as she remembers the events leading to her laying here still feeling groggy and slow.
Yesterday evening,
Sofia was happy and excited to see her brother and sister again after being away from them for about almost a month, but then she heard about Minimus and she just froze, then she started to laugh and she laughed so much that she started to cry, which caused Amber and James to look at her in both concern and alarm, as Elsa wraps her arm around her shoulder and firmly guides her into the back, where Sofia had to be dragged by Elsa while she was still laughing and crying hysterically by this point, into her room and soon she was laying down on her bed, with Elsa sitting beside her eyes full of concern as Sofia starts to stop laughing and soon she realizes that the laughter and crying had caused her to start hyperventilating, Elsa must of have said something but Sofia could hear nothing except her fast breathing and the feelings of fear as she tried to breath but couldn't as Elsa calls for someone to help.
An unknown Doctor comes in and injects something into Sofia's arm, and soon she knows no more.
Present-day, Sofia sighs as she could hear Tess coming into her room.
"I am awake, Ms. Tess," Sofia said as she forces her body to sit up, with what felt like a great effort as she gets ready for the day, with Tess's help, when she goes to breakfast she notices that Elsa was absent, when she asked Tess about it, the older woman was vague in her answers, and since it was the weekend, Sofia decided to go check on Elsa after breakfast.
After eating some breakfast, Sofia was determined to find out where Elsa was and decided to go check in her room.
When she gets to the door, she knocks on it but is concerned when she receives no reply, so she cautiously opens the door to find Elsa sitting in her rocking chair cationic with her stuffed horse Anna in her arms.
"Elsa?" Sofia asked as she stands in front of the girl, slowly approaching her as if she was a wounded animal, but the moment Sofia touched one of Elsa's bracelets she felt like she was being sucked into a tight tunnel, but it stops she opens her eyes to find herself staring into what appears to be Elsa's memories.
A younger version of Elsa was running around laughing and playing with a red-haired little girl.
"Anna, Elsa!" Agnarr Said
"Bed time's soon!" Iduna said
Sofia stares at the other girl who was named Anna. 'Is that who she named her horse after? Why hasn't she visited Elsa?' Sofia thought as she watched as the memories progressed.
"Uh oh! The princess is trapped in the snow goblin's evil spell! Quick Elsa, make a prince, a fancy one! Oh no, the prince is stuck too! "Who cares about danger when there's love?" Anna said
Elsa makes a disgusted face as she says "Ugh, Anna, blegh... Kissing won't save the forest! (chuckling) The Lost Fairies are crying out! (Mimicking elephant trumpets) What sound does a giraffe make? Neverminded! They wake the Fairy Queen, who breaks the spell and saves everyone!"
"And they all get married!" They both burst out laughing when the doors open and she sees two familiar figures come in.
"What are you playing?" Agnarr asked curiously.
"Enchanted forest!" Anna exclaimed excitedly.
"That's like no Enchanted Forest I've ever seen," Agnarr said observingly
"You've seen an Enchanted Forest?" Elsa gaps at the older man in awe, which catches Anna attention
"Wait, what?" she said looking confused.
Agnarr nods "I have. Once."
"And you never told us this before?" Anna asked curiously.
"Well, I could tell you now... If you..." Agnarr said
"Okay, tell us now!" Elsa demands as she and Anna get into bed.
"Are you sure about this?" Iduna asked unsurely.
Agnarr nods with a gentle smile, "It's time they know..."
Anna whispered to Elsa "Let's make a big snowman later." Elsa nods.
"If they can settle and listen. (Chuckles) Far away, as north as we can go, stood a very old and very Enchanted Forest. But its magic wasn't that of goblin spells and lost fairies. It was protected by the most powerful spirits of all... Those of air, fire, water, and earth. But it was also home to the mysterious North Huldra people.
"Were the Northuldra magical, like me?" Elsa asked as she pointed to herself.
Agnarr shakes his head "No Elsa, they were not magical, they just took advantage of the forest gifts. Their ways were so different from ours. But still, they promised us friendship. In honor of that, your grandfather, King Runeard, built them a mighty dam to strengthen their waters. It was a gift of peace."
"That's a big gift of peace," Anna said in awe.
Agnarr nods, "And I was so honored to get to go to the forest to celebrate it."
(Flashback)
Read: Stand tall, Agnarr.
Agnarr said I wasn't at all prepared for what the day would bring. We let down our guard. We were charmed. And it felt so... magical. But something went wrong. (Yelling) They were attacking us!
Mattias: Get behind me!
Agnarr said It was a brutal battle. Your grandfather ...
Agnarr (Flashback): Father!
Agnarr sucks in a sharp breath as he said "We lost, the fighting enraged the spirits. They turned their magic against us all. (Grunts) (Vocalizing) There was this... voice. And someone saved me. I'm told, the spirits then vanished. And a powerful mist covered the forest, locking everyone out. (Wind whooshing) And that night, I came home, King of Arendelle.
"Whoa, Papa, that was epic. Whoever saved you, I love them." Anna said.
"I wish I knew who it was," Agnarr said wistfully.
"What happened to the spirits? What's in the Forest now?" Elsa asked.
"I don't know. The mist still stands. No one can get in, and no one has since come out." Agnarr said.
"So we're safe." Iduna said
Agnarr nods, "Yes, but the forest could wake again, and we must be prepared for whatever dangers it may bring."
"And on that note, how about we say goodnight to your father?" Iduna suggested earning groans of protest from the girls.
"Oh, but I still have so many questions!" Anna whined
"Save them for another night, Anna," Agnarr said with a chuckle
Anna pouts at hearing that, "Ugh, you know I don't have that kind of patience. Why did the North Huldra attack us anyway? Who attacks people who gave them gifts?"
"Do you think the forest will wake again?" Elsa asked
"Only Ahtohallan knows." Iduna states.
Anna blinks in confusion at the unusual word "Ahtoha-" what?"
"When I was little... my mother would sing a song about a special river, called Ahtohallan... that was said to hold all the answers about the past, about what we are a part of." Iduna said.
"Wow," Anna said as she climbed into her mother's arms with Elsa the following suit.
"Will you sing it for us? Please?" Elsa pleaded.
Iduna smiles warmly "Okay, cuddle close. Scooch in."
"All Is Found"
Where the northwind meets the sea
There is a river full of memory
Sleep, my darling, safe and sound
For in this river all is found
In her waters, deep and true
Lie the answers and path for you
Dive down deep into her sound
But not too far or you'll be drowned
Yes, she will sing to those who hear
And in her song, all magic flows
But can you be brave in what you fear most?
Can you face what the river knows?
Where the northwind meets the sea
There's a mother full of memory
Come my darling, homeward bound
When all is lost, then all is found
"Good night Elsa, Anna." Iduna said as she kissed them good night.
"Goodnight Mom" Elsa yawns as she falls asleep.
Later that night Anna wakes up and carefully sneaks over to Elsa's bed.
"Elsa. Psst. Elsa!" [Elsa doesn't wake so Anna climbs onto the bed, sits on Elsa, and bounces] "Wake up. Wake up. Wake up."
Elsa: said [with her eyes still closed] "Anna, go back to sleep."
[Anna rolls on her back and lies on top of Elsa]
Anna: said "I just can't. The sky's awake, so I'm awake, so we have to play."
Elsa said, "Go play by yourself." [Elsa shoves Anna off the bed, Anna not wanting to be defeated hops back on the bed and lifts one of Elsa's eyelids]
Anna said, "Do you want to build a snowman?" [this gets Elsa's attention and she smiles, then the two girls go downstairs to play]
Anna said, "Come on, come on, come on, come on."
Elsa: said "Shh!"
[the girls sneak into the ballroom and Elsa shuts the door, they start laughing]
Anna said "Do the magic! Do the magic!"
[Elsa starts waving her hands together and suddenly snowflakes appear forming a snowball]
Elsa said "Ready?"
Anna said "Yeah."
[Elsa throws the snowball into the air and it bursts out creating flakes around the room]
Anna said, "This is amazing!"
[Anna runs around in excitement]
Elsa: said, "Watch this!"[Elsa stomps her foot and a layer of ice suddenly coats the floor,
Anna slides off, laughing,
Then Elsa and Anna build a snowman, after they finish building him Elsa moves his stick arms around]"Hi, I'm Olaf and I like warm hugs."
[Anna rushes over and hugs him]
Anna said, "I love you, Olaf." [then using her power, Elsa helps Anna and Olaf to slide across the dance floor as if they are dancing] [they then slide down snow hills together]"Ah-huh! Tickle bumps!"[then Anna jumps off the snowpeaks] "Alright. Catch me!"
[Elsa makes another snow peak to catch Anna]
Elsa: said "Gotcha!"
Anna said "Again!"
[Elsa makes another peak to catch Anna as she jumps]
Elsa said Wait!
[Anna keeps jumping and Elsa quickly tries to make peaks to catch her] Slow down!
[suddenly Elsa slips on the ice floor, as she sits up she sees Anna about to jump again]
Anna! [Elsa quickly uses her power to catch Anna as she jumps but it accidentally strikes her in the chest and Anna falls down unconscious, Elsa rushes towards her and takes her into her arms] Anna? [suddenly a streak of Anna's hair where she was struck turns white, Elsa cries out in anguish] Mama! Papa! [as Elsa cries the room fills with more ice] [as she holds on to the unconscious Anna]
Elsa said You're okay, Anna. I got you. [suddenly their parents burst through the frozen door]
Agnarr said Elsa, what have you done? This is getting out of hand! [they rush towards them]
Elsa said It was an accident. [looking down at Anna in her arms] I'm sorry, Anna.
[the King and Queen take Anna into their arms]
Iduna said She's ice cold.
Agnarr said I know where we have to go. [the King goes through a shelf of books and finds an ancient book, he opens it and an old map falls to the floor from between the pages, the King and Queen take the girls and ride their horses through a forest, as they ride off a trail of ice is left behind them, they ride past young Kristoff who notices the trail of ice]
8-year-old Kristoff: Ice? [Kristoff then rides Sven to follow the trail of ice] Faster, Sven! [as they reach the edge of a valley Kristoff hops off Sven and hides behind a rock] Sven! [they watch the King and Queen with Elsa and the unconscious Anna as they stand in the middle of an ancient ruin]
Agnarr said Please, help! My daughter! [suddenly a bunch of rocks tumble down the valley toward them and surround them, then the rocks unfold and turn into trolls]
Troll: It's the king! [as they watch from behind a rock]
8-year-old Kristoff: Trolls...? [suddenly the rock in front of them unfolds]
Bulda said Shush! 'm trying to listen. [the troll grabs Kristoff and Sven by the hand brings them in close against her, Sven licks the troll's face and she looks at them both] Cuties. I'm gonna keep you. [the head troll approaches the King and Queen]
Grand Pabbie said, Your Majesty! [Pabbie takes Elsa's hand] Born with the powers or cursed?
Agnarr said [to the Queen who's holding Anna in her arms] Uh...born and they are getting stronger."
Grand Pabbie said Here, here. [she kneels in front of him and holds out Anna, he places his hand on Anna's chest] Unfortunately you hit her heart, there isn't much I can do, the heart isn't so easy to sway.
"Do what you must." Agnarr demands
Grand Pabbie, "Be warned that if I do this she might not be the same little girl you once had she will be forever changed by this, she might not be able to feel any type of emotion at all or become a lifeless husk."
Agnarr said It's for the best.
The leader of the Trolls nods as he takes Anna's memories and changes them, when she started to come around her parents and Elsa were overjoyed as they thanked the Troll king and left for home, but soon their happiness was short-lived, Agnarr decided for both their safety the girls were separated and Elsa began to become fearful of her powers, but when she saw Anna staring listlessly unable to do much except breath, eat, sleep and walk, she didn't talk at all.
The guilt became too much for Elsa as she snapped, her powers exploded in a burst of ice and snow, when she came too, she was surrounded by her parents horrified and concerned faces as she sat up, "What happened? Where's Anna?" She asked when she saw the pale looks on her parents faces as she notices a sheet covering something that appeared body shaped, the shock was too much and soon Elsa blacked out and the next time she came too, she was in the hospital without any memory of how she got there or why and when her parents were brought in she assumed they were her Aunt and Uncle and from then on Elsa lived in the Enchancia Psychiatric Ward.
As Sofia watched all this she was thrown out and back into her own body, Elsa was still unresponsive as Sofia tried to process what she just learned before she passed out.
When she came too, her head felt like it would split in two as her eyes burned from the bright lights, but she could hear someone coming in and dimming the lights much to her relief as she carefully opened her eyes to see Tess standing over her with a concerned expression on her face.
"Tess..." Sofia tried to speak but was quickly shushed by the older nurse.
"Shh...child rest you took quite a knock to the head, I want you to hold 1 finger for no and 2 for yes, can you do that?"
Sofia gives her the two fingers signifying *Yes*
"Good, now are you in any pain?" Tess asked.
*Yes*
"Does the light hurt your eyes?"
*Yes*
"Do you feel sick to your stomach or feel like you're going to vomit?"
*No*
"Any dizziness or confusion?"
*No*
"Any numbness or tingling sensation in your arms or legs?"
*No*
Tess nods as she writes down Sofia's responses.
"You are doing good Sofia, one more question then we are done and I can give you something for the pain."
*Yes*
Tess just smiles and then asks the question, "Do you remember what happened before you passed out?"
Sofia was hesitant unsure, but then said *No*
Whether Tess noticed the hesitation or not, she didn't say a word as she thanked Sofia, before giving her the pain relief which knocked Sofia out again, letting her sink into a blissfully dreamless sleep.
Meanwhile back at the castle, James invited Hugo to spend the night, which wasn't all that often nowadays but was a welcome distraction from everything that had happened.
When Hugo came into James's room, he realized that they weren't alone when he saw Michael, Ryan, Emily, and Amber all together while James took his place beside Amber.
He looked around at the group and then back at James, the confusion on his face was plain as day, "James what is going on, some kind of meeting?"
Michael was one to speak, saying, "Yes we decided to let you join in on our meetings about Sofia and we were just going to talk about James and Amber's visit yesterday."
"Yeah, you guys seemed a bit spooked when you came home," Emily said as she sat back in her chair relaxed as Hugo took the seat next to her.
James clears his throat uncomfortably while giving Amber a pleading look, which had the girl scoff before saying, "Fine! When we went to see Sofia, we talked for a bit about how she was doing and even met a friend of hers, Elsa or something, anyway, James decided to break the news to Sofia about Minimus being taken back home for retirement and how she was allowed to go visit him and even ride him, Princesses Isabella assures us of this, since she knew how close those two were, but Sofia didn't react well."
That got Hugo's attention, "What do you mean? What happened?"
"She lost it," James said bluntly.
"James!" Amber scolds mildly
"What it's true! She just started laughing hysterically with tears streaming down her face, the look in her eyes, she looked so broken and lost as her friend took her to the back where the rooms were located, we snuck into the back, but by the time we found her, she was sedated and asleep so we got back to the visiting area and left."
"It sounds like she had a mental breakdown." Emily states which had everyone turn to stare at her, "What?" she asked, getting a little annoyed by the unwanted attention.
Michael shakes his head, "Never mind, anyway, Ryan, myself and Emily are going with Mom to the Facility to see Sofia today at around 1 pm, but if what you said is true, it might not be a very long visit if Sofia is not wanting to see us after what happened yesterday."
Hugo just sat back observing and listening, taking mental notes to go see Sofia next time he got a chance.
"Oh Hugo, Sofia wanted me to give this to you, here." James gives Hugo the letter from Sofia, which the other boy took and tucks into his breast pocket for later when he was alone with only James.
Meanwhile, in another part of the castle, Miranda was having a heated phone call with Sofia's nurse, Tess.
"Why did you wait until now to tell me about Sofia getting injured!" Miranda hisses through the receiver.
"My Queen with all due respect, your daughter is fine she just had a bit of bump to the head, no concussion or cuts, just a headache, if we felt that she was in danger we would have had her transfer over the hospital to run some tests, but she woke up and answered all my questions and we woke her up every 2 hours to make sure she didn't have a concussion." Tess states.
Miranda sighs, "I understand, Tess, but Sofia knows how to hide when she is hurting or sick well."
"We will keep an extra sharp eye on her, I promise," Tess vows.
Miranda thought about it for a moment and then said, "A few more of my children and I are stopping by at around 1 pm to visit with Sofia, please have her ready for us, but give us notice if anything changes and we need to reschedule."
"Well due. Good day my Queen." Tess said.
"You too," Miranda said as she hung up the phone, sighing as she rubs her face in frustration and worry.
When she heard Roland come in he noticed straight away that something was bothering his beloved.
"Something wrong Miranda?" He asked concerned as he came over to her side and gently started to rub her tense neck and shoulders.
Miranda sighs in relief as the tension starts to go away a bit, "I just got off the phone with Sofia's nurse, Tess, she said that Sofia fell and hit her head, nothing too serious." She reassures me.
Roland huffs a bit, "They check her thoroughly, she could be bleeding internally and they wouldn't know it until it was too late."
Miranda looks up at her husband with exasperation, "Roland these are professionally trained doctors and nurses, while they have studied the mind and behaviors of humans, they know what to look for if someone is critically injured and if they saw that they would transfer that person to the hospital next door, but they assured that Sofia is fine, she just as a bad headache and they check to make sure every part of her head and body is working as it should."
Roland sighs, "I know, you are right as always my dear, I just wouldn't know what to do if we got a call in the middle of the night saying that Sofia was rushed to the hospital, if something were to happen to her and I wasn't there to prevent, I would never forgive myself."
Miranda puts her hands on his own, "You are too hard on yourself my King, just trust that she is in the best of hands."
"I will have to," Roland states as he gives Miranda a kiss which starts simple, but quickly turns into something more.
Meanwhile back at the facility, Tess turns to another nurse, Monica who was a sort of apprentice under Tess, who took the young Irish woman under her wing and showed her the ropes.
"The Queen and her children will be here at around 1 pm, can you please make sure that Sofia is ready for them, what on earth are you holding?" Tess asked.
Monica just looks a little nervous and embarrassed as she explains, "Well I went to go check in on the wee lass, and well it appears that she had a bit of an accident, the poor child was so devastated and mortified, but after I calmed her down she let me clean her up and after she was dressed, I let Elsa take her to the Playroom with the other children, while I stripped the bed down to be washed."
Tess just nods and turns back to her work, basically dismissing Monica, who leaves to go straight for the laundry room, after throwing the soiled sheets and blankets into the washer, she grabs some fresh and clean sheets and blankets go into Sofia's room and remake the bed.
Meanwhile, Sofia was with Elsa playing checkers, mostly in silence, but then Elsa asked, "How much did you see?"
Sofia looks up and stares into Elsa's bright blues which are usually filled with happiest and joy, now were filled with darkness and coldness that didn't seem to fit the normally bubbly girl.
"All of it," Sofia said.
Elsa sighs and nods, "I hope that this doesn't change our friendship, but I will understand if you don't want anything to do with a murder."
"Elsa...if I saw what I saw correctly, it was an accident, you were traumatized badly by what happened to Anna, but I am here to tell you that what happened wasn't your fault."
Elsa just shakes her head in denial, "You're wrong, she's dead because of me, I am a monster!"
The bracelet around Elsa's wrists started to glow as her powers tried to surface, but couldn't while the girl curled up in a ball crying, but Sofia goes over to her and without any warning grabs both Elsa's wrists making sure to touch both bracelets, but instead of Sofia getting sucked into Elsa's mind, they were both in a sort of twilight of light hues of blue, pink, purple mixed and swirled around them as they looked around.
"You finally came!" Both Elsa and Sofia jumped and turned to see a girl of about 10 years old with fiery red hair, light blue eyes, and wearing a dark blue dress with a black breast coat and purple cloak with a familiar golden crocus print on the back.
Elsa just stares at the girl in shock as the being approaches them, but before it could get closer Sofia steps in front of Elsa effectively blocking its path.
"State your name, if you have one, and your intent," Sofia said firmly.
The girl just blinks at her before smiling kindly, saying, "I am the late Princess Anna of Arendelle, sister to Princess Elsa of Arendelle and I mean no harm."
Sofia stares at the girl for a long moment, before nodding and stepping aside, watching as Anna runs over and hugs the still stunned Elsa, who returns the hug a bit stiffly at first but then she was soon clinging to the younger girl crying.
"Anna..." Elsa croaks her voice hoarse with tears as Anna holds her face in her hands, gently wiping away the tears.
"Elsa I don't have much time, but I just came to tell you that what happened all those years ago, I don't blame you, I understand why it happened the way it did, you were just a kid with too much responsibility put on her and you tell this guilt of my death for far too long, I want you to understand that what you did was, in fact, a blessing, I was just a soulless husk with my soul just attach to it to keep my body alive, but I couldn't talk, move very well or just do anything, I know that you felt extremely guilty for what happened, but I want you to understand that I felt no pain when my body died, I was finally free, but when I saw how you were after my death, I decided to stay and watch over you, waiting for the day that I finally get the chance to talk to you, now I want you to answer me one question."
"What?" Elsa asked.
Anna smiles, "Do you wanna build a snowman?"
Elsa just lets out a watery laugh, while Sofia watches them play, Elsa using her powers to build beautiful and large builds made completely of ice and she even builds a snowman that came to life, named Olaf, Sofia like the childlike innocence of the small snowman he joins in on the fun.
"She is finally free of the guilt and pain at last." A voice said startling Sofia a bit when she turns to see Gloria, Tess, and Monica all standing together side by side glowing with unearthly energy.
"Fear not, little one, we are angels sent to help Elsa release herself of the guilt and pain her soul carries when we saw that you and Elsa were in the Twilight where Anna's soul had lived for all this time."
Sofia looks around the space and then back at the two sisters, "What does this mean for Anna, does she finally move on?" She asked curiously.
Gloria steps forward and nods, "Yes, now that Anna has completed her unfinished business, her soul will no longer have any reason to stay."
Elsa must have overheard them as she went over to where Sofia was standing with the 3 women whom she recognized.
"Tess? Monica? Gloria? What are you doing here?" Elsa asked
"They are angels, Elsie, I had some unfinished business and now it is done, they have come to take home," Anna explained.
"No! Please! I just got you back! Please, you can't leave!" Elsa cried as she clung to Anna tightly.
Anna gently hugs her back, "I have to go sissy, but I will always watch over you, and don't worry we will meet again someday, just promise me something."
Elsa sniffs, "What?" she asked curiously.
"Promise me that you will live your life to the fullest and use your powers to better human and animal kind, and please take care of Mom and Dad for me."
Elsa nods as she kisses Anna on the forehead, "I promise."
Anna smiles as she starts to fade with a golden and comforting glow as she says "See you soon."
Elsa just stares at where her sister last stood and then she turns to where Sofia stood silent and she gives the girl a strong hug, which Sofia returns.
"It's time for you two to go back," Tess said as she came to stand by them.
Sofia nods, "Thank you." she said as she firmly took Elsa's hand in hers.
"Close your eyes and when you open then again you will be home once more and oh one more thing, Gloria," Tess said to the younger angel who approached Elsa holding what appeared to be a magical key and before they could blink the bracelets that always decorated Elsa's wrist was soon gone.
Staring at her bare wrists in shock, she suddenly felt lighter than she had in years, she was finally free.
