The four girls were sitting at a table outside the Mystic grill enjoyed the warm weather. The girls where helping Caroline folding pamphlets for the celebration that was going to take place tomorrow for the night of the Comet.
"Well, i was talking to Grams and she said the Comet is a sign of impending doom. The last timeit passed over Mystic Falls, there was a lots of death. So much blood and carnage, it created a bed of paranormal activity."
"I don´t like the sound of that." Adelaide said before she took a large sip of her coffee.
"Yeah and then you poured grams another shot and she told you about aliens." Caroline said before she turned to Elena." So then what?"
Elena shook her head." So then nothing."
"You and Stefan talked all night? There was no sloppy first kiss or touchy feely of any kind?" Caroline asked.
"Nope." Elena said as she shook her head once more." We didn´t go there."
Adelaide nodded her head in agreement." I´am pretty sure i would have heard if they did do anything."
"Not even a handshake?" Caroline kept pushing." I mean, Elena, we´re your friends and Adelaide is your sister. Okay? You are supposed to share the smut.
"I don´t want thear smut." Adelaide grumbled, crossing her arms.
"We just talked for hours." Elena tried to explan to Caroline.
"Okay, what is with the blockage? Just jumpe his bone already?" Caroline shook her head as she explained." Okay, it´s easy. Boy like girl, girl likes boy, sex!"
"Profound." Elena told Caroline before she looked down for a moment before she sighed and began gathering her things.
"Where´re you going?" Bonnie asked.
"Caroline is right."
"What? No, she´s not." Adelaide stammered.
"It´s easy. If i sit here long enough, I´II end up talking myself out of it, insted of doing what i started the day saying i was going to do." Elena said as she turned to Adelaide before grabbing her hand, pulling her up." And you´re comming with me."
"I don´t want to be there for that!" Adelaide yelled as Elena started to dragging her away." What about my coffee? Elena.!"
Elena looked at Adelaide pleadingly." Please Adelaide. You don´t even have to stay, just make sure i get in."
Adelaide rolled her eyes before mumbling." Fine."
"Thank you." Elena said as she took Adelaide hand and pulled her towards her car. Bonnie and Caroline watched as the two sisters makes their way to Elena´s car, they laughed in amusement before focusing their attention back on the pamphlets.
20 minuets later the Gilbert sister pulled in front of the Salvatore bording house. "Okay you forced me here, but why do need to come in." Adelaide pleaded with Elena.
"Moral support." Elena told her as she got out of the car.
"I can´t believe I´am doing this" Adelaide mumbled before she to got out of the car and followed after Elena.
Elena used the metal doorbell that was attached to the large oak door. But when she knocked, the door slowly pushed open by itself. While Adelaide took a step back, Elena made her way inside.
"Elena no one let us in." Adelaide groaned before walking inside the house, catching up with Elena.
Elena looked around, bit when she didn´t see anyone, she called out loudly." Stefan?" But when she didt get a response, Elena walked further into the house before trying one last time." Stefan?"
Adelaide turned around when she heard a creaking sound in the very quiet house." Creepy." She said as she saw the door was closed shut." Elena, i don´t think we should be here." Adelaide said as she turned back to Elena.
"Adelaide it´s..." Elena jumped in fright as she saw someone standing behind her sister. Adelaide furrowed her brows as she turned around and saw a stranger standing there and she quickly pulled Elena behind her.
The stranger stared at Adelaide deeply into Adelaide´s eyes for a moment before he spoke." You must be Adelaide." He turned his head and looked at Elena and smiled." And you must be Elena.
"Who´re you?" Adelaide asked.
"I´am Damon, Stefan´s brother."
Adelaide glanced over at Elena in confusion." Did you know he had a brother?"
Elena shook her head." No, he never told me."
Damon shrugged." Well, Stefan´s not one to brag." He held his arms out as he exclamied." Please, come in. I´am sure Stefan well be along any second."
Damon walked through a large door with the two girls. Adelaide couldn´t help but look around the inside of the house in amazement." Is this your living room?" She had never been inside a house so big before, beside the Lockwood mansion.
"Living room, Parlor, Sotheby´s auction. It´s a little kitschy for my taste." Damon said as he turned around and glanced between the two girls before his eyes settled on Elena.
"I love it." Adelaide said as she walked over to a bookcase and she gasped as she saw a first edition of her favorite book." Can i?" She asked as she turned her head to Damon.
"Go ahead." Damon told her before he turned his attention back on Elena." I see why my brother is so smitten. For a while there, i never though be´d get over the last one. Nearly destroyed him."
"The last one?" Elena asked a little upset.
Damon nodded his head." Yeah, Katherine, his girlfriend." But when Elena didn´t say anything, he concluded." Oh, you two haven´t had the awkward exes conversation yet."
Elena looked away as she mumbled." Nope."
"Oops. Well, I´am sure it will come up now." This caused Adelaide to look away from the book and she looked and she felt anger inside as she saw the upset look on Elena´s face.
"Or maybe he didn´t want to tell you because he didn´t want you to think he was on the rebound. We all know how those relationships ends."
"You say that like every relationships is doomed to end." Adelaide told him.
Damon turned to Adelaide before shrugging." I´am a fatalist."
"You shound more like a narcissist." Adelaide said as she made her way to Elena and Damon smirked at her.
"Hello brother." Damon said with out looking away from the Gilbert sisters. Adelaide and Elena turned around as Damon spoke and sure enough, Stefan was standing in the doorway.
"Elena, Adelaide. I didn´t know you guys were comming over." Stefan said as he kept his eyes on his brother.
"I know i should have called, i just... " Elena started to explain.
"Oh, don´t be silly. You´re welcome any time. Aren´t they Stefan?" But when his brother didn´t say anything, Damon looked towards the Gilbert sisters." You know, i should break out the family photo albums or some home movies. But i have to warn you, he wasn´t always such a looker."
Adelaide smirked at Damon."Dose that mean we don´t get to see yours either?"
Damon smirked right back at Adelaide as he pointed his finger at her." I like you, you´re feisty."
But before Adelaide could replay, Stefan quickly interrupted." Thank you for stopping by, Elena, Adelaide. Nice to see you." Stefan said as he kept his eyes on his brother.
"Yeah, we should probely be going." Adelaide said as she looked between the two brothers.
Elena turned to Damon. It was nice to meet you Damon."
"Great meeting you, too, Elena. And you as well Adelaide." Damon said before kissing both girls hands, causing Elena to raise her eyebrow at the gesture, but Adelaide rolled her eyes before she mumbled a goodbye as she and Elena went to leave, but Elena stopped in front of Stefan, hoping he would say something to Elena.
"Stefan?" Elena asked." Stefan?" He didn´t say anything, he just moved to the side to let the sisters pass causing Elena to look upset.
"Come on Elena." Adelaide said as she took Elena´s hand and they walked out of the bording house.
"I don´t know which one was the bigger ass whole." Adelaide said as they got in the car.
"It´s not your time yet Adelaide Gilbert." A woman´s voice told her.
Adelaide gasped as she quickly sat up in her bed, she looked around the room, remembering she was inside her bedroom and not standing on the Wickery bridge in her wet cloths. Adelaide groaned as she laide her head down on her pillow. She had been hearing that woman´s voice every night accident and it was slowly making her insane.
"You okay?" She heard Jenna asking.
Adelaide turned her head to see Jenna standing in the doorway with a worried look on her face."Yeah, why?"
"You were screaming." Jenna said as she made walked into her bedroom and closed her door behind her and leaned against the door.
"I think I´am going insane aunt Jenna." Adelaide said as tears fall down her cheek."
"Oh, honey." Jenna said as she made her way to Adelaide and sat down on the bed and looked down at Adelaide´s face and wiped away the tears."What´s going on?"
"You can´t tell anyonen what I´am about to tell you."
"I promise." Jenna told her.
"Every night since i woke up in the hospital i have been hearing this woman´s voice inside my head."
"What do you mean?" Jenna asked.
"I remember the car hitting the water and Dad telling me and Elena that everything is going to be okay and then i feel the water feeling my lungs and then nothing and then all of the sudden I´am standing on the Wickery bridge in wet cloths and a woman´s voice is telling me it´s not my time and then i wake up...Say something." Adelaide said not liking the look that was on Jenna´s face.
"I don´t know what to say." Jenna said.
"You think I´am crazy?"
Jenna stook her head." No. I think you´re trying to find a reason as to why you and Elena survived and your parents died."
"Maybe or I´am insane." Adelaide said with a sad smile.
"Honey."
"I should have died aunt Jenna and i..."
Enough." Jenna said." I need you to stop putting yourself through this okay. Stop feeling guilty for surviving the accident."
"I don´t know how." Adelaide said as more tears fall down her cheek."
"How about we take it one day at the time?"
"Okay."
Jenna smiled." Okay." She said before she placed a kiss on Adelaide´s head." Now when you´re ready breakfast is ready." Jenna said before she stood." Oh, remember you promised to help out with to night."
"What´s to night?"
"The Comet?"
"Oh, right." Adelaide said, cause she had forgotten all about the celebration for the Comet.
"I love you."
Adelaide smiled as she looked at Jenna." I love you too aunt Jenna."
Adelaide had spent the whole day helping all the others volunteers with setting up for the night of the Comet, and before she knew it, it was dark outside and everyone was surronding the town square.
"Hey, there you are." Caroline said as she made her way towards Adelaide.
"Thank you so much for her help today." Adelaide said as she pulled Caroline into a hug.
"I´am happy to help." Caroline told her.
"I know, but thank you." Adelaide said and looked behind Caroline and she saw Matt was sitting by himself." I´am going to see Matt." She told Caroline before she made her way towards Matt.
"Hey Donovan." Adelaide said as she sat down beside him and sighed.
"Hey Gilbert." Matt said with a smile, but the smile vanished as he saw the tried look on Adelaide´s face." You okay?"
"I´am just a tried and hungry." She said as she looked up at Matt.
"The grill?"
"God yes. We´re going to the Grill." She told everyone as she and Matt stood." Elena?" She asked concerned.
"I´am fine, let´s go." Elena said as she reached the group.
The group walked into the grill and made their way toward a table when Jeremy came running towards them.
"Hey, has anyone seen Vicki?" He asked as the group sat down at the table.
"You´re her stalker. You tell us?" Tyler said as he made his way towards the gruop.
"I can´t find her."
"She probely found someone else to party with." Tyler smirked." Sorry, pill pusher, i guess you have been replaced."
"That´s enough Tyler!" Adelaide said.
"Is it?" Tyler said as he turned to Adelaide.
Elena looked between her sister and Tyler in confusion because something was going on between them, but she would deal with that later." What´s with the pill pusher?" She asked as she turned to Tyler.
"Ask him." Tyler said as he pointed his head in Jeremy´s direction.
"You wanna do this right now?" Jeremy growled.
Elena looked at Adelaide with a sad look on her face before she turned to Jeremy." Are you dealing?"
"She´s never gonna go for you." Tyler told Jeremy.
"She already did. Over and over and over again." Jeremy told Tyler.
"Jeremy!" Adelaide yelled.
"Yeah, right." Tyler said, not believing a word that was coming out of his mouth.
"You slept with Vicki Donovan?" Caroline paused before she continued." I mean, Vicki Donovan slept with you?"
Tyler shook his head." There´s no way."
"And i didn´t have to force her into it." Jeremy said with a smirk.
"Enough!" Adelaide yelled getting up." I´am so sorry Matt." She told a shell-shocked Matt." Adelaide grabbed Jeremy by the ear and twisted it to get him to follow her." Seriously Jeremy!, dealing? Are you joking!" Adelaide yelled, shoving his shoulder angrily.
"Is that your game now?" Elena asked as she made her way towards her siblings.
"I´am not dealing." Jeremy denied.
"You promised me, you would stop!" Adelaide yelled as she shoved Jeremy once more.
Elena stepped in front of Adelaide to stop her from going at Jeremy again." Look, I´am sick of the tough love speech, Jer. It´s clearly having no impact." Elena told him.
"You and Jenna, between the two of you it´s enough already!" Jeremy said." Adelaide is the onely one that understand me and dosen´t try telling me what to do." Jeremy told Elena before stomping away.
"Well, that´s over!" Adelaide yelled." I´am done and you..."
"Adelaide." Elena took her by the hand to stop her from going after Jeremy."
"You don´t understand Elena." Adelaide said as she turned to face Elena." He lied to me. He..." Adelaide paused as tears fall down her cheek." He lied to my face." She yelled a sshe wiped the tears away with the back of her hand.
"I know."Elena said as she wrapped her arm around Adeliade´s shoulder." Let´s go home.
As they got home they went upstairs to see Janna rummaging though Jeremy´s room.
"It´s me the hypocrite patrol." Jenna said as they walked into the room.
Elena looked at her aunt in confusion." What´re you doing?"
Jenna stood up and looked between the sisters as she confessed." I´ve become my worst nightmare." She took a deep breath before she continued." The authority figure who has to violate a 15-year-old´s privacy." Jenna though for a moment before she walked a cross the room and pulled out a bong from the inside of a boot."Jackpot. I see the hiding places haven´t gotton any more creative."
"What brought this on?" Adelaide asked as s he sat down on Jeremy´s bed.
"Your ass-hat of a history teacher shamed me good yesterday."
"Tanner?" Elena asked as she sat down beside Adelaide on the bed." Yeah, he´s an ass-hat."
Adelaide smirked." You got Tannered.
"Discover the impossible, Ms Sommers." Jenna said intimidated Mister Tanner´s voice." Got it. Thanks. Like i didn´t know i was screwing up." She sighed.
"You´re not screwing up anut Jenna." Adelaide smiled softly.
"Yes, I´am. You know why? Because I´am not her. She made everything look so easy." Jenna said upset." You know, hight school, marriage, having you guys." Jenna shook her head." I can´t do it. I´am gonna say or do the wrong thing and he´s gonna get worse, and it´s all my fault. It´s impossible."
"This is just the fear talking." Elena comforted. You´re a little scared, that´s all."
"Yeah, you went from only taking care of yourself to taking care of three teenagers. You´re doing a good job. Mom would be so proud of you." Adelaide told her aunt.
"You really think so?" Jenna asked with tears in her eyes.
"She´s right." Elena said as she nodded her head at her sister." Mom wouldn´t have left us in your hands if she didn´t think you could do it. Jeremy will get better. We all will."
Adelaide and Elena stood up and walked over to Jenna and hugged her." How about we hang out like old times?" Adelaide asked.
"Movies and popcorn?" Elena asked.
"Let´s do it." Jenna said.
"Let´s go." Adelaide said as she took each of their hands and they made their way downstairs.
