Chapter 3: Wonderland
Kairi could not stop in wonder as she stepped into Donald and Goofy's ship. "Amazing," said Kairi. "Welcome to our gummi ship," said Donald. Kairi glances at all the complex machinery until she hears a high-pitch voice.
"Don't touch anything. We are trying to keep this place clean," exclaims a chipmunk on the floor. There is also another chipmunk beside the first one. Kairi gently picks up the two chipmunks as Donald explains, "Those two are Chip and Dale. They're the ship's mechanics."
Kairi places Chip and Dale back down on the ground and heads to the bridge with Donald and Goofy. It has three huge seats, one pilot chair in the front, and two passenger seats in the back. As Kairi settles down into one of the passenger seats, she sees a cricket wearing a fancy outfit waving at her.
"Hello. I'm Jiminy Cricket, the captain of this ship," and the cricket. Ignoring Jiminy, Donald calls out, "We're blasting off!" Kairi feels intense pressure and starts to feel nauseous. But suddenly she hears someone say, "Look outside, Kairi." Kairi turns to look out of the window and forget about all being nauseous.
Kairi sees millions of stars twinkling in the darkness of space. She pulls out her charm and wishes that Sora and Riku could see this. Kairi prays that they are safe. Suddenly, Donald said, "We're here." Kairi looks and sees a strange-looking planet. It looks like one huge checkerboard with hedge mazes.
After they land, Donald stops before Kairi leaves the ship. "One should always be careful when stepping out of the ship. Always look left and right," said Donald. But Kairi was not listening because she noticed something that Donald and Goofy did not see as they left.
"Guys, look down," said Kairi. Donald and Goofy look down to see what Kairi is talking about and realize that they are standing on nothing. As the two start to fall, Kairi tries to catch them. But she lost her balance and fell with Donald and Goofy into a seemingly bottomless hole.
As they fall, Kairi sees many strange things like beds, bookcases, and chairs. It did not take long for the three to reach the bottom. Luckily, Donald cushions Kairi and Goofy fall. "Why are we always landing-" But before Donald finishes his sentence, a white rabbit bounces off Donald's head.
The rabbit is wearing a suit and holding a pocket watch and an umbrella. As the rabbit runs away, he exclaims, "I'm late, I'm late!" Kairi is surprised by the rabbit's appearance. Then, Donald angrily said, "Let's follow him!" The three chase the rabbit through a curly hallway, but the rabbit super-fast, and the three have trouble keeping up with the rabbit.
The three reach a strange room with a bed in one corner and a table in the middle of the room. The three could not see a trace of the rabbit. As Kairi looked down, she could not believe her eyes and called out to Donald and Goofy to see. The rabbit that they are chasing is tiny now.
The rabbit runs across the floor towards a little door and goes through it. "How did he become tiny," asks Kairi as examines the tiny door. "No, you're just too big." Kairi, Donald, and Goofy become shocked because the door handle itself said that. Then the door handle said, "Take the medicine. I am getting tired."
While Donald and Goofy are still shocked by it, Kairi wonders what it means. Kairi suddenly notices a bottle on the table. The bottle has a label that said "Drink Me" on it. Kairi decides to drink it since there does not seem to be anything else to do. After drinking it, Kairi, Donald, and Goofy all shrink down enough to go through the door.
"How mysterious," said Kairi. The three head to the door and try to go through. But they could not because the door handle is asleep and would not wake up. Kairi wonders what to do. "Over here, Kairi!" Kairi looks over to see Donald and Goofy by the bed. "There is a tunnel behind the bed," Goofy exclaimed.
The three squeezes by the bed to get to the tunnel. The tunnel was dark. When they reach the end of the tunnel, they find a courtroom in the middle of a hedge garden. But the three are not the people there. "Court is in session," said the white rabbit, the same one the three are chasing.
"This girl is guilty because I say so," said a plump woman with a crown sitting at the judge's bench. "That is unfair. I am innocent. Just because you are the queen does not give you the right to be mean," said a girl with blonde hair and a blue dress standing at a podium in the middle of the courtroom.
The rabbit look scares as the girl said this and for a good reason as the queen looks like she about to blow a gasket. "Silence! Guilty as charged for the crime of attempted theft of my heart," screams the queen. "Heart? We need to help her," said Kairi. "We can't. We need to protect the world order," said Donald.
"Off with her head," shouts the queen. Suddenly, giant cards with spears surround the girl. Kairi wonders what Sora would do in this situation. "Hold it right there," shout Kairi. Kairi rushes into the courtroom with Donald and Goofy behind her. "Who are you?! How dare interferes with my court," shouted the queen.
"We know who the real culprit is," Kairi shouts. "It's the Heartle-," Goofy adds before Donald stops him. "Nonsense. Have you proof," asks the queen. Kairi could not respond to the queen. The card soldiers lock the girl in a cage in the corner of the courtroom and raise it. With a very angry expression, the queen said, "Bring me proof or it's off with all of your heads!"
The Queen slams her gravel and adjourns the court. The three heads over to the cage to talk to the girl. "We'll find the true criminal," said Kairi to the girl. "Thank you. My name is Alice," said the girl. "But where can we find evidence," asks Donald. "The Cheshire Cat I met in the woods may know something," replies Alice.
But before the three could ask Alice any more questions, a card soldier closes a curtain on the cage and orders them to leave. The three decide to look for the Cheshire Cat. As they reach the forest, Kairi looks at all the humongous plants. There are giant blades of grass, trees, and strangely lily pads.
"We should tell the Queen that the Heartless did it," said Kairi. "No! We are already messing with this world. Everyone should be living in their world, or it would be confusing. That is why we must keep it a secret," replies Donald. "Really? Well, that may or may not be true," said a voice above them.
The three look up to see a smiley pink and purple striped cat sitting on a branch. "The Cheshire Cat knows everything. All you have to do is avoid getting confused," said the cat. "The Cheshire Cat," shouts Kairi. Suddenly, a box bounces off Donald's head and lands in Kairi's hands. "The evidence you seek is in that box. Or is it," said the Cheshire Cat.
"To trust, or not to trust? I trust you'll decide," said the Cheshire Cat as he slowly vanishes. After the Cheshire Cat disappears, Kairi eyes the box in her hands. The box's design is simple and with no sign to tell what is within. Kairi carefully opens the lid as something bursts out of the box, a Heartless.
The monster starts to dash back the path the three took. They chase it back to the courtroom. All the card soldiers and the Queen are surprised by the Heartless. "What! Who is that," demand the Queen. "Your majesty, he's the evidence," Kairi shouts.
The Heartless leaps towards the Queen, who braces for its attack. Luckily, Kairi sliced the Heartless before it hurt the Queen. "Alice is innocent! Let her go," shout Kairi. Donald and Goofy lower the cage. But when they drew back the curtain, Alice was not in the cage.
"Where is Alice?! All of you! Go search for Alice," demand the Queen. Suddenly, a bunch of card soldiers starts to surround Kairi, Donald, and Goofy. "Off with their heads," shout the Queen as they run away into the woods.
As they manage to avoid the card soldiers, the three discuss what happens. "The Heartless probably took Alice," said Donald. "I thought the Heartless only attack on the spot," asks Kairi. "I'm not sure, but something may be controlling them," replies Donald.
Suddenly, the Cheshire cat appears in front of Kairi, Donald, and Goofy, shocking them. "Might you be looking for Alice," asks the Cheshire Cat. "Did you see her," asks Kairi. "No," the Cheshire Cat. "Then what do you want," Donald demands. "Well, I know where the shadow is," replies the Cheshire Cat.
With the Cheshire Cat's advice, the three head back to the room they first shrink in. The Cheshire Cat was already there and said, "This way? That way? Does it matter? Did you know that when you turn on the lights, a shadow is made?"
Suddenly, a giant Heartless appears behind him. It looks like something that comes from a circus. It also carries two flaming maracas. "You tricked us," shout Kairi, Donald, and Goofy. "Nothing of the sort! The Cheshire Cat is always here to help the weak," replies the Cheshire Cat.
The giant Heartless started to attack them and lit each of them on fire. Kairi, Donald, and Goofy start to panic. "You'll never make it like that. I'll give you something you're missing," said the Cheshire Cat shooting a beam at the Keyblade. Kairi suddenly feels cooler as strange energy develops the Keyblade.
Kairi uses the energy to put out the fires on Donald and Goofy. "How did you do that," Donald asks. "The wielder of the Keyblade should be able to use a little magic," the Cheshire Cat answered. Kairi becomes mystified by how she uses magic. "Kairi, watch out," shouts Donald.
The Heartless launches another attack at the three. Kairi tries to use magic again, but it dodges all her attacks. The Heartless launch a counterattack right back. "Kairi! You must concentrate! Focus your power on freezing the enemy," shouts Donald. With Donald's advice, Kairi imagines the giant Heartless frozen.
A huge blizzard comes out of Kairi's Keyblade and hits the Heartless head-on. The blizzard freezes the giant Heartless so much that it shatters like ice. The three celebrate their victory. Suddenly, they hear a yawn behind them. "What's going on? Such a racket. How is a doorknob to get any sleep," asks the door handle.
As it is about to yawn again, the keyhole in his mouth starts to glow. Kairi wonders it is when her Keyblade shoots a beam of light straight at the keyhole. It makes a click sound and a strange block pop out. Kairi is bewildered by her Keyblade and Goofy picks up the block.
"Hey, it's a gummi block, but different from others," said Goofy. Donald examines it too and confirms what Goofy said. "Gummi block," asks Kairi. "It what we used for our Gummi ship," answered Donald. "Splendid! You're quite the hero," said the Cheshire Cat.
The three turns back to him. "Really quite excellent! I can't wait to see what you'll do next," exclaim the Cheshire Cat. "Cheshire Cat, who are you," asks Kairi. But he did not answer. When he did, the Cheshire Cat said, "If you are looking for Alice, she's not here. I am afraid she is gone! Gone with the shadows!"
Kairi, Donald, and Goofy are left alone to wonder what the Cheshire Cat means.
K Report 3: First World
The girl watches as the three leave the mysterious, yet wacky world. The girl wants to leave her current location and explore that world a lot more. Suddenly, more images pop into her mind.
A beautiful town with trains running all around and a giant clock tower with an amazing view of the sunset with three friends eating blue popsicles on top of it.
The girl feels that wherever this place is, it is just as special as the island the girl adventurer is from. The girl wishes she could remember the name of this place or at least the names of those three. She feels that she has met them before. As the girl tries to remember them, she remembers someone else.
A boy with blond spiky hair.
Before she can think about it anymore, she realizes the three adventurers reach their destination.
