Chapter 5: Olympus Coliseum
Kairi, Donald, and Goofy arrive at a huge building decorated with statues of warriors and stone columns. Jimmy appears and says, "The Olympic Coliseum is best known for the fighting tournaments they hold." Kairi becomes excited and feels the urge to compete.
"We have no time for any tournament," exclaimed Donald. "It won't hurt to take a peek," replies Kairi. Kairi never joined Riku or Sora when they played with wooden swords. She always watched them or did something else. But now that she has the Keyblade, Kairi wants to test her strength to see if she is worthy of it or protecting others.
As she rushes into the lobby, Kairi sees a strange person. He is short and has horns and goat legs. The guy is currently writing down rules for the tournament on one of the walls and is not paying attention to Kairi, Donald, and Goofy. Kairi walks up to him and tries to get his attention.
Without turning, the goat person said, "Good timing. Give me a hand, will ya? Move that pedestal over there for me." Surprised by his request, Kairi immediately accepts it. When she turns to the pedestal she needs to push, it turns out to be a huge stone block. Even though Kairi thinks that she could not move it, she decides to try anyway.
Kairi uses all her strength to try to push the stone block, but it does not move an inch. "It's way too heavy," exclaimed Kairi. "What? Too heavy? Hercules! Since when you have been such a little-," said the goat-man before he turned to them. "Oh. Wrong person. What are you doing here," adds the goat man. "I want to enter the fighting tournament," said Kairi.
After laughing, the goat-man said, "A pipsqueak like you who couldn't move this block wants to enter. This coliseum is famous! Only heroes can join this tournament!" The goat man walks over to the block and tries to move it without any luck. "If you are qualified to participate, then bring an entry ticket. Anyhow, I am busy! So, run along, pipsqueaks," added the goat man.
As the three leave the lobby, Kairi and Donald become pretty upset about how the goat-man treated them. "What's that old goat," shouts Kairi. "He couldn't tell that there were three heroes right in front of him," complains Donald. "Stubborn old goat, indeed. Ignoring a young challenger like you," said an unknown voice.
The three turn to see a pale man with a black toga and flaming blue hair. He walks up to the three. "Phil cares only for his precious student, Hercules. Never mind that, I have something for you," said the man as he hands Kairi a ticket. Kairi feels something unsettling about him. "Who are you and why are you helping us," asked Kairi.
"The name's Hades and I can see that you have the eyes of a true hero. It would be so sad if you wouldn't be able to enter the games," said the man. Despite her better judgment, Kairi accepts the ticket from Hades.
"What," Phil shouts as he sees Kairi's pass. "No way... how did you get a hold of this," asks Phil. Kairi ignores his question and asks, "May I enter, now?" After thinking a little, Phil responds, "Ok, but let us see what you can do. You got what it takes to pass my trial?"
After surviving Phil's long and intense trial, the three take a break to rest while Phil calculates their gains. Kairi feels a little depressed when she sees that she did not gain much muscle. "But just being strong doesn't make you a hero. To become a hero, your heart must be strong, as well" Phil said as he pointed to Kairi's heart. "What makes a strong heart," asks Kairi.
"If you have to ask, you're not a hero yet," responds an unknown voice. Kairi turns to see a muscular man walking up to them. Phil walks up to the man and announces, "Let me introduce you to the man who's the popular hero around here! Hercules!"
Kairi could not get over how much muscle he has. Kairi thought that there was no way Sora or Riku could compete against Hercules. "I checked over the entry list. There seems to be many strange newcomers. I wonder where they got their tickets," said Hercules. Hercules's question makes Kairi feel that she is forgetting something important, but she decides to focus on getting ready for the tournament.
Kairi, Donald, and Goofy manage to breeze through the tournament with ease, but the three are shocked to see who their opponents are, the Heartless. Despite this, the three kept fighting in the tournament until they encountered their first non-heartless opponent.
Their opponent was a teenage boy with blonde hair and a huge sword wrapped in bandages. As soon as the match starts, he zips around the arena and takes out each of them one by one with speed and strength. Before Kairi could recover from his attack, the teenager points his weapon at her, inches from her nose.
"You're no match for me," the teenager said as Phil cry out from the audience. "What is Hades trying to make me fight a kid," the teenager asks himself. Upon hearing that, Kairi realizes that Hades set everything up, but she does not why. Before she could think anymore, a huge shadow looming over her. Kairi sees the beast that the shadow belongs to before her opponent.
The shadow belongs to a huge three-headed dog with razor-sharp teeth. Her opponent was surprised by its appearance and before he could do anything, the three-headed dog eats the teenager whole. Then, the beast charges at Kairi. Suddenly, Hercules appears and stops the beast in its tracks.
"Phil! Get them out of here," shouts Hercules. With that Kairi, Donald, and Goofy flee to the lobby with Phil. "That was Cerberus, the guardian of the underworld. Hercules could easily beat it," said Phil as suddenly they cry of pain come from the arena. Phil starts to panic and worries for Hercules.
Kairi knows what she needs to do and heads back to the arena. "Where are going, kid," Phil asks. "I'm going to help Hercules," answers Kairi. "This isn't just some match! This is for real," Phil said as he tries to stop Kairi. "I know! I am not afraid. I don't care if you think I am hero material," replies Kairi as she leaves.
"Kairi, how come you always have to be the good guy," asks Donald. "We're going with you," adds Goofy. The three of them rush back to the arena and sees Hercules carrying the teenager that was gobbled up. "Hercules! We'll take it from here," Kairi shouts to Hercules. Kairi, Donald, and Goofy get ready to face Cerberus.
"Hey, kid! I got two words of advice for you! Attack," shouts Phil. Suddenly, Cerberus charges at the three of them. With all her strength, Kairi leaps into the air and smacks the center head. As soon as she did, the beast stops in its tracks and collapses. Kairi, Donald, and Goofy are all shocked by this.
Kairi rushes to the lobby and announces her great feat. "I'm a hero," exclaims Kairi. "Well, let us just leave it at that. But as indicated in the rules, do not get a swelled head," replies Phil. But Kairi was not listening, she exclaims, "I bet I'm strong enough to move that pedestal now!"
Kairi rushes over to it and pushes it with all her might. Unlike the first time, the pedestal moves a few inches. Kairi just notices that Donald and Goofy are helping her. "There's no rule saying we can't help you, is there," said Goofy. "But there isn't much point if we are all-," argues Kairi before she notices something.
A faint glow appears from under the pedestal. As soon she sees it, Kairi knows what it is. "C'mon! Push," exclaim Kairi. Despite not knowing what is going, Donald and Goofy help Kairi to push the block to reveal... a keyhole. "Hey, what've we got here," asks Phil. Ignoring Phil's questions, Kairi whips out the Keyblade and seals the keyhole.
After celebrating their achievements, Kairi, Donald, and Goofy get ready to leave. "You guys should come back for the next tournament," said Phil. "Next time you see us, you'll be calling every one of us a hero," replies Kairi. "Looking forward to it," replies Phil.
Right after leaving Hercules and Phil, the three of them encounter the teenager they faced. He stands doing nothing as they walk by until he says, "Cloud." Kairi stops in her tracks and asks, "Cloud?" "My name. Here's a farewell gift," replies Cloud as he throws a Gummi block to Kairi. "Don't lose sight of your light," adds Cloud. Kairi, Donald, and Goofy leave this world with a new understanding of heroes.
K Report 5: Battle
The girl cheers the three adventurers on during all their battles, even though they could not hear her. It was very exciting, and the girl was glad that they are ok. Suddenly, a chill runs through her, and she remembers something.
Crumbling old ruins, fighting with a Keyblade in hand against people in black hoods, and ...
Before the girl remembers anything else, she knocks herself out of the daze. For some reason, the girl did not want to remember the rest of that memory. She feels that something bad happened. The girl decides to think about something like how she has a Keyblade of her own.
The girl tries to summon it, hoping it would help free her from wherever she is. But it would not appear. The girl wonders if it has to do with her memory loss. She is also curious about who she was fighting. As she thinks about it, she remembers that the redhead she remembered earlier was wearing a black hoodie too.
The girl becomes pretty confused by all of this and decides to turn her attention back to the three to see them in a pickle.
