He put his head down in shame. "Yuffie. I- I shouldn't have done that. I couldn't-"
"It's okay, really!" She interrupted him. "I get it. We've been traveling on this ship for a while. We haven't landed and because of that you weren't able to do your drinking...blood...thingy..." she didn't exactly know what to call it.
"...You should leave." He said, turning his back to her.
Yuffie took offense to this and stood up, pointing at him. "What the hell?! You can't do that to me and then basically tell me to fuck off! Who do you think you are?!"
Vincent didn't think Yuffie would get mad at that. He turned back around to face her. "It's not like that. I'm trying to protect you."
She put her fists on her hips. "Oh ya?! Well, it's rude. I thought you respected me!"
Vincent was utterly confused at this point in her argument. "Yuffie. It's because I respect you that I feel guilty for doing what I just did!"
"Yeah, well..." Yuffie blushed, feeling embarrassed, and turned her head away from him. "I liked it..."
Vincent didn't say anything for a few seconds making it more and more awkward for her. Then he spoke "I figured you did with...the way your body...reacted. To be honest, you doing is what made me snap out of it."
Hearing that made Yuffie mentally slap herself. Wondering what would have happened if she had more control over her body. Would he have killed her or would it have even felt better? But then again she should be more concerned about the former. The next question on her mind she just had to know.
"...Did...y-you like it? Me...doing that against you?" She still couldn't bring herself to look at him, fearing he'd say no. She would probably run out of the room feeling mortified.
Vincent was really hoping she wouldn't ask him that because he did like it. But he couldn't admit that to her. He respected her and had cared about her for so long. When they first met he didn't think much of her. When she pulled her little materia stealing stunt three years ago, he found her to be immature and conniving. Luckily it hadn't stuck and she apologized, returning them. Over the years he had seen her grow as a person and genuinely care about their friends. Her helping him with his mission, her loyalty to him made him want to protect her always.
Thinking about all of that was starting to make him question if he now saw her as more than a friend. He hadn't let himself think about anyone like that in a long time. After Lucrecia, he believed that love wasn't in the cards for him. And if they got together, would it be wrong? Yuffie was 19 but he was still many years older than her even though he looked younger. Also, he was immortal. She wouldn't be around forever. Wouldn't that bother her? But then again, he was jumping to conclusions. After all, she never said she loved him. It could be just an infatuation she felt towards him.
He finally spoke. "You don't know what you're asking..."
She instantly turned back her head back to face him. "What? What kind of answer is that?! Oh my gawd, you're such a coward!" She yelled crossing her arms, pouting. "It's not like I'm asking if you love me!"
While that statement sounded like it confirmed his suspensions on whether or not she loved him, for some reason that bothered him. But he quickly put that thought away. At least it made him less afraid, to be honest with her now that she didn't seem serious.
"I...I did." He admitted.
Yuffie blushed red in the face. Her eyes were wide.
He walked closer to her slowly just in case she told him to back off. "But that whole thing shouldn't have happened in the first place. I lost control and used you for my own needs. It should've frightened you?"
She noticed him coming closer but didn't stop him. "Maybe a little at first but I was more shocked than anything. 1: Because it was so sudden and 2: Because I didn't think you'd do that."
"But why didn't you scream?" He was now barely inches from her. Looking down at her smaller form. He hadn't meant to come that close. But she didn't seem to mind.
Looking up at him she put her hands on his chest. He was so tall compared to her that she felt a little embarrassed over it. But she did grow a little more sense than when they first met. She answered him. "Because I trust you more than anyone. I knew you'd never hurt me and I believe that you would've stopped before it went too far. I liked it because...you had never let me get that close to you before. It felt...really good...your body touching me in that way." She blushed even more. She continued "It all felt…sensual...even though I know you didn't mean it to be."
Vincent didn't know what to say after she admitted that. He just stared down at her. He was…touched? Rarely people made him feel that emotion. He wasn't exactly used to it.
To Yuffie, he was looking down at her with a look she had never seen from him which caused her to not be sure what his expression was supposed to be. Why wasn't he saying anything? Nevertheless, his staying silent made her regret her honesty. Her embarrassment caused her to blush. She covered her face in his chest so he wouldn't see. Her hands clutching the fabric of his shirt.
"Please say something." She said sounding muffled but he did hear her. He gently pulled her away from his chest so he could look at her. He was too slow to say anything that Yuffie lost it. "Ugh! Screw it!" She went on her tiptoes, grabbed his face, and kissed him.
Vincent's body became stiff. He didn't anticipate her being so bold. The kiss wasn't exactly ideal due to his awkwardness.
Yuffie's lips released his finally. The fact that Vincent did nothing whatsoever during the kiss made Yuffie feel like shit. 'He clearly isn't into me…' She sighed. "I'm sorry…" she started to sob. "This never happened, okay?!" She started to run out of the room.
"Wait." Vincent grabbed her wrist before she could leave. He pulled her towards him, wrapping his strong arms around her, her back against his body.
Yuffie didn't turn to look at him but she didn't fight back. "Please don't. If you don't feel the same I'd rather we'd just forget about this. You don't have to try to make me feel better."
"That's not why I'm doing this!" There was a short bit of silence until he spoke again. "…I didn't mean to make you feel rejected. It just...took me off guard."
Yuffie said nothing. Unsure what to say. Vincent's hand found her chin, turned her head slightly by her chin, and gently brushed his lips on hers. Yuffie could feel her heart pounding against her chest. After a few short moments, they finally parted and looked into each other's eyes. She was dazed and confused.
Yuffie didn't even know what to say but she forced herself to have the courage to speak. "So you do feel something me?"
"I…don't know entirely"
She gave a tiny huff. That wasn't exactly the response she wanted but it was a start. Maybe she could make it so that he was absolutely sure he felt something for her. Yuffie fully turned so she was facing him, put a hand behind his head, and pulled him into a deep and passionate kiss. The kiss felt like hours. Vincent felt himself being pulled up onto his bed and was now practically lying on top of Yuffie. His heart began to race and his breathing became heavy. He lifted himself up as he looked deep into her beautiful brown eyes.
She pulled him closer and whispered, "Let me make it so you do know for sure."
Vincent's eyes widened.
Yuffie continued, loving his expression. "Show me what you're feeling."
Hesitating at first he softly began kissing her neck. His lips to her skin felt like fire to her.
Yuffie quietly chuckled. "Are you gonna bite me again?"
Vincent wasn't sure how to feel about her comment but he knew she was trying to be humorous so he went along with the joke. "Not tonight..."
