Fatima woke up and realized that something was not normal. She was snuggling with someone. She hadn't snuggled with anyone in bed in years. She sat up slowly, then started remembering the previous night. No, no no. There was no way she had snuggled with her partner, ESPECIALLY in her bed. She rubbed her eyes and groaned. At least she was funny clothed. She wondered if she could sneak out, shower at the NCIS gym, and forget everything that happened. She was about to get up and run out when Rountree gently wrapped his arms around her and kissed her head.
"Morning, sunshine," he murmured.
"Hey. I have to get up," Fatima whispered.
"Aww, you okay?" he whispered.
"We can't be in bed together, Devin, it's a recipe for problems. We need to just forget everything that happened," she whispered. Rountree nodded and let her go.
"Kens and Deeks made it work," he replied. Fatima shook her head.
"We're not them, okay? Last time I slept with a coworker, we both got in trouble. Big time," she whispered, grabbing some jeans from a drawer.
"Okay, fine. I can't force you to acknowledge what happened, okay? But it wasn't inappropriate," he said gently.
