Hey agian, since this is my first fic I am open to critsim, but try not to be to mean.

I only own OC's Rick Riordan owns the world and monsters.

The boy tastes pavement as he tries to push himself off the ground, it's hard thanks to the large hole in stomach. The snake people had slithered into his house, soon after was when the screaming started. He had to get off the ground. It was his fault he had to help them. The boy felt a new determination pushing him to his feet.

Nathan Walker gets out of bed and gets dressed in a cheap black suit. As he passes his bed stand he picks up the small recorder and press play on the recording and a familiar voice says

"Listen kid I know we weren't family but expect from my mom your the closest thing I have to it, that's why I left you the car and this, yeah I know it's Olympus brand but in our job it's best to find humor wherever you can, anyway you aren't listening to this to hear about me your listening tracking the empousa pack we were hunting before I got sick," Nathan listens to this as he gets ready tying his tie, brushing his teeth, and checking his gun and the faintly glowing bronze bullets before putting the magazine back in the gun. As walks out of his room he pauses the recording

The boy is on his feet as he walks towards his front door like a zombie still bleeding out of the hole in his stomach. He has no idea what's keeping him going. As he reaches the open door he walks through the hall, two bodies are on either side of the door, he's lost to much blood to identify them "Have to stop them he thinks to himself"

Nathan walks out the motel he pulls out his car keys, despite only being thirteen he was tall enough to easily pass for sixteen and he had the fake ids to back that up. As he gets down the steps he nods at the motel manager and says

"I'm checking out" as he tosses his room key, the manager bobbles them in the air before finally catching them and nodding as Nathan walks up to the black 1969 Mustang Boss he smiles as he unlocks the doors. As soon as he's in the car with the doors locked he resumes the recording,

"The people going missing in Waverly,Iowa would hardly seem like our kind of gig but the last victims convinced me otherwise, the victim is 36 year old Keith Everland, girlfriend's kid swear he saw a monster swoop in and take him and you know how the kids are with the mist," Nathan scoffs at this and sighs as he sits in the car.

The boy walks through his destroyed home, he sees one of the snake people her back to him. He spots a glowing bronze dagger on the belt of the one he is approaching. He pulls it out and as the snake turns around he throws himself on her with the dagger stabbing into its chest. The boy had never killed before.

"Your gonna have to interview the kid-," the voice is cut off by a mad fit of coughing Nathan knows too well "Braden Ellis is the kids name go to house and check it out," Nathan turns the key in the ignition and the car revs to life as the voice continues " and Nathan I'm sorry about all this, about your family, about you getting dra-" the recording is cut off by Nathan's pause of the recorder he felt like getting out of the car stomping on the recorder and then stomping on it, he had told Arthur a few days after they met to never talk about that day. Nathan was angry, he felt betrayed by his mentor and all the other mixed up feelings he felt when he thought about that day, luckily he had the perfect outlet for all those emotions.

The boy fell on the snake woman with a loud thud. He heard another coming to investigate the sound and before he knew what he was doing he had pounced up stabbing the snake in the throat. Keeping the dagger in his hand he continued through his ransacked house. If he had turned around he would have seen the snake people slowly dissolve into a gold dust.

Nathan pulled up to the house; it was a standard gray suburban home. As he got out of the car he could help but think of his old home. As he rang the doorbell he hurried old memories. A mild aged woman open the door looking very distraught.

"Miss Ellis I presume," says Nathan. "I'm special agent smalls here to talk to you about the Everland disappearances" he continues. The woman eyes him with suspicion, Nathan's used to it he is thirteen. "Yes I get. I have a growth hormone defect and my name is smalls, very funny," he says with a roll of his eyes. The woman has the usual reaction to his excuse: a brief moment of shock and excapnating his fake badge and then apologising and letting him into the house.

"You can't seriously believe what my son thinks he saw," the woman says. The ironic part was that Nathan did, humans at a young age have an increased chance of seeing through the mist, most parents will assume that their kid just has an overactive imagination.

"I don't," Nathan lies "It's just when a kid sees something like this they have a tendency including a bit of truth in their fantasy," another usual excuse.

The boy walks through the house approaching the door he sees the first snake woman, the one who stabbed him, holding his step-brother by the back of the neck raising him back of his neck.

Nathan pulled up to the warehouse. After interviewing the kid and triangulating the area of the other disappearances he found this warehouse as the most likely place for the empousa to be keeping the food. As he sneaks into the building he hides behind a wall gun drawn, he pokes his head out to see three empousa and a man in chair, but what catches his attention is the one in the middle holding a girl, maybe a year younger than him, who appeared to be unconscious up by her neck.

She was screaming something.
