Um so it's been a little while so um sorry. I've had like no free time recently so this took a while, but thanks for the patience and enjoy the new chapter

I own nothing but the OC's, the world, lore, monsters, and Non-orginal Characters belong to Mr. Rick Riordan

"This is just great, first I have to save a stupid-freaking demi-god, who appernatly must be deaf because she didn't hear the monster come kill me part of my phone talk, thanks so much Arthur," Nathan practically screamed as he floored it towards the camp.

"Hey I'm not deaf or stupid, I was just worried about my dad, and who's Arthur," Kylee shouted back. Nathan slumped in his seat,

"Crap I said that out loud didn't I,"

"Uh yeah,"

Nathan sighed, he was clearly upset at her, not that she didn't understand, she had done something he had said clearly not to do.

"I don't get it you couldn't wait one hour, one hour, it was going to be so easy, just had you over to Chiron after an easy drive, but no you make to a f***ing phone call,"

"I'm sorry," she said defeated, slumping down in her seat. Nathan sighed

"Whatever, we just have basically have the monsters on the east coast on our a** now,"

"Is it really that bad,"

"I have no idea, in all my time doing this I've never actually had a demi-god use a phone,"

"Really ! How long have you been doing this ?,"

"Oh, I've been learning and helping for about five years but this is my first full solo gig,"

"Wait, five years! I thought you were thirteen ?,"

"I am,"

"Holy Cow, you-you've been doing things like this since you were eight"

"Yep,"

"How'd you learn all this,"

"That guy I mentioned Arthur, demi-god and monster hunter, helped save my life, and had me play Robin to his Batman, taught me all I know,"

"Um, thanks for opening up and all but this is the most you've opened up to me in the, two days, we've know each other,"

"Yeah, I get talkative when I'm probably gonna die," Kylee laugh at this, she didn't know why, looking back at it she would probably say the danger of the situation hadn't sunk in for her yet, she didn't know how many monsters they were going to have to fight, right now she was talking to an clearly extremely damaged monster hunter, who was making fun of her for a mistake that would in all likelihood get them both killed.

Well, the kid was alive, that was unlikely ? impossible ? improbable ? inconceivable ? Arthur had seen the wound and the blood, his attempt at saving the kid had been a panic and frustration to at least save one person today, but by some insane string of fate, bouncing off from the knitting of the fates, this kid was alive. Arthur had no idea what to do, which was a pretty general thing, he was hardly equipped to raise a kid, he had hardly had a childhood himself. The kid wasn't a demi-god so he couldn't bring him to half-blood, and he was almost definitely clear sighted so even if he could get the cops to ignore the only witness of a multi-homicide (Arhtur would also have to explain why he was at the sight of a multiply homicide) the kid could hardly live a normal life anymore in foster care. So that brought him back to the point of having no idea what to do.

Kylee now understood why Nathan had been so mad at her. In the last fifty minutes of the nearly nineteen hour drive to long island they ran into three monsters, the first was a large dog Nathan had called a Hellhound which he had shot several times before ramming through it, the second was another empousa Nathan again shot in the head before driving over the dust formed by it's death, and finally a snake like woman Nathan had merely plowed through. Through all that they eventually stopped at a forest.

"We're close, but we'll have to make the rest on foot," Nathan said as he once again pulled off the suit jacket, leaving it in the car. This time Kylee saw more of what was under the jacket, a strap over each of his shoulders each had a gun holster. As the ran through the forest Nathan would oftentimes seemingly random to Kylee fire his gun in any direction, taking out a monster Kylee hadn't even realized was there. As they came to a clearing Nathan stopped for a second and turned to her.

"I'm out of ammo, but don't worry I can pull all the monsters nearby off you, just keep running north," he said pointing north, "and you'll get there fine,"

"You'll die," she screamed back, he had risked so much to help her she couldn't let him die.

"I'll be fine now go," she started but turned back,"I said go," he yelled back at her and she ran.

This was all his fault, his brother laid dying in front of him. He had lead them here it was his fault they were dead, his mom, who had always loved and supported him, his step-dad, who cared for him like his own son, and his brother, who despite not having the same father, had always looked after him no matter, and it was all his and his stupid power's fault. Chiron had told him that he would be in danger here but he was selfish. He had wanted to stay here and it got them killed, He had to save one, Nathan was close enough to him. He reached out drawing power from the sun and his own life force, and the life flooded towards Nathan, saving his brother, but most likely dooming himself.

Nathan sighed as his hands reached for the two artifacts on him, his right went to a small metal pole on the left of his belt, swing it out it suddenly extended to an greek xiphos, and his left up to his neck to the small owl pendant around his neck, he took off, unleashing His scent
