Megan stretched up on her tip toes and kissed Sylvester's cheek.
"So what do you think about what we heard? That wise Lady wants us together and to have children?" Megan asked softly.
Sylvester smiled.
"Well I never actually thought of children before you but if I am being honest, I rather like the idea. I watch Lord Walter with the twins and Ralph and it actually makes me a little jealous of what he has." Sylvester told her just as softly even as those around them mulled about speaking in small groups over the appearance of Athena in amidst them.
"What do you make of this Simon? He's clearly not human and I doubt he is Elven. What do you think his nature is?" Megan asked with a smile.
"If I was merely to speculate I would say he is probably a Djinn. They are the ones mostly likely to be subdued in the way he described. Couple that with his longevity and I'm sure he is. Though I must give him credit, most Djinns would have been driven mad at enduring what he did." Sylvester told her.
"You mean as in, I grant you three wishes?" Megan asked.
Sylvester nodded.
"There is something we need to go do Megan." Sylvester told her seriously even as he turned and reached a hand out for hers.
Megan smiled and took his hand and they walked out of the great hall.
Lord Walter looked up at Simon as he put Ralph back on the floor.
"Simon, I thank you for the information you imparted to us. Would you care to stay and be honored?" Lord Walter asked as he held out his hand in friendship.
Simone smiled and shook his hand.
"Perhaps one day, but I've spent enough time away from family. And I really do not wish to be subjugated again. So while I am honored you wish to do that for me, I have to respectfully decline my Lord. Unless either of you have any further questions." Simon told him.
"I don't believe I have any. My love, is there anything else you wish to ask or say?" Walter asked Paige as he pulled her tight against his side.
"There are many questions to be honest but I don't believe Simon can answer them. I'm satisfied with all that Simon has told us. Unless there is anything else he knows that we should know." Lady Paige said smiling at Simon.
Simon returned her smile.
"There are many things I know my Lady. But you won't get me to admit them with asking a question that is pertinent to the answer." Simon told her.
Simon bowed to the couple and even as he was bent over faded into nothingness.
"Whoa, I did not see that coming." Happy's eyes went wide.
Sir Cabe stepped over to Allie where she stood alone looking over the gathered people.
"Allie?" Cabe asked tenderly as his hand reached out towards her.
Allie smiled and took his hand before turning to look at him.
"Yes Cabe?" Allie questioned.
Cabe stared at her in disbelief.
"Are you going to make me ask you?" Cabe asked.
Allie shrugged.
"I think it is important in all things for a man to ask for that which he wants." Allie told him.
Cabe's eyes probed into her eyes before he got down on a knee before her. He reached down and pulled a pouch off his belt and opened it. He pulled a ring out of the pouch.
"I've been trying to decide how I should ask this for a while now and I think the right answer is to just ask you. Allie, would you do me the honor and consent to become my wife?" Cabe asked.
After recovering from seeing Simon just disappearing, Paige looked over seeing the movement of Sir Cabe and a grin spread across her face.
"Oh sweet Athena, he's actually doing it, he's proposing." Paige said excitedly to Walter.
Walter looked over with a raised brow and then he grinned seeing Sir Cabe kneeling before Allie.
Allie smiled down at Cabe.
"Cabe, it would make me very happy to be your wife. And I accept your proposal." Allie told him.
Cabe grinned and slipped the ring on her finger before he stood and took her into his arms and kissed her soundly.
The crowd of people in the great hall had all turned seeing the Lord and Lady staring at them and they erupted into cheers and applause seeing Sir Cabe sliding the ring on her finger and then the two of them kissing.
Sir Cabe blushed as did Allie as they broke their kiss. They looked out at everyone and kind of waved and then everyone starting with the Lord and Lady moved over to congratulate the couple.
"I can't believe you are pregnant and you haven't said anything to me. I thought we were closer than that." Paige whispered to Allie.
Allie smiled.
"Well I had planned to tell you after I told Cabe but I was waiting on him to finally ask me to marry him." Allie whispered before they parted.
Lord Walter clapped hands with Sir Cabe before pulling him into a hug.
"I'm so happy for you my old friend. Allie has given you a new view on life. You've been happier since meeting her a year ago than in all the time I've known you. And now you have a child on the way to boot. Clearly the wise Lady has been busy in her movements of people and events." Lord Walter told him quietly.
"Thank you my Lord. Allie has returned a lot to my life. Though while I don't doubt the wise Lady, Allie hasn't actually confirmed that fact yet or if it merely will happen in the future." Sir Cabe replied just as quietly.
Walter grinned even as he shook his head.
Toby looked at Happy and smiled.
"Kind of weird to know that someone you don't really acknowledge has been leading you around by the nose to be with someone you don't know but honestly love beyond anything I could possibly name." Toby told her.
Happy's eyes opened wide even as tears welled up in them.
"You've never told me that you love me." Happy told him shocked.
Toby grinned.
"Well that's because a young lady I knew broke my heart once. Well to be honest I probably broke hers first with my gambling. But how I felt about her paled to how I feel about you. I know we've been kind of dating the last couple of months, since the twins were born. But I fell in love with you the moment I met you five years ago." Toby told her.
Happy pulled his head down and kissed him deeply.
Sylvester took Megan out to his tower.
"Uh Sylvester, we don't have to start on children right this minute you know." Megan teased with him.
"Just watch." Sylvester told her simply.
Sylvester walked over to the wall and took out a jar of gold looking water. He slowly traced the outline of a door like rectangle on the wall. He sealed the jar and put it up. He pulled out a purple powder and took a small handful of it and threw it up into the air just over the stones and as it sprinkled down he began intoning words of power. The gold outline began glowing and as Megan stepped up to him the entire area glowed.
Sylvester looked at Megan and smiled. He reached out and Megan took his hand and he stepped forward pulling her along and they stepped through the wall and Megan found herself standing on a stone before a path that journeyed up a bridge of sorts to a tower a little like Sylvester's but much older. "My Master's home," Sylvester told her as he pulled against her hand and they began walking up the bridge.
As they reached the front door Sylvester reached out and pulled the rope pull and they heard a soft gong sound. Perhaps five minutes passed and the door creaked open. Sylvester smiled. "Jasper, I've come seeking my Master."
Jasper looked ancient to Megan. If forced to guess he had to be at least three hundred years old.
Jasper looked at Sylvester and then back to Megan and slowly nodded as he stepped back pulling the door open as he went.
Lady Paige turned to Sir Cabe and hugged him tightly.
"I'm so happy for you Cabe. And my life is so full now. I went from nothing besides Ralph to having Walter as my husband to our 3 children, and even to have you as my Father. You are going to be a great Father to your child with Allie." Paige told him quietly.
Sir Cabe smiled.
"Thank you my Lady. It has been such a joy getting to know you more and more. Having you come to me as you would your Father about different things has been a true pleasure. And along with my life with Allie it has all helped to heal wounds I had forgotten I still had over my first wife and daughter's deaths." Sir Cabe told her quietly.
"Allie you have been such a boon in all of our lives and anything you and Sir Cabe need just let me know and we'll get it done." Lord Walter told her as they hugged briefly.
"Thank you my Lord. You and our Lady have been a real blessing for me as well." Allie told him as they parted.
Louise had Ralph in a tight hug after kissing his face repeatedly.
Ralph laughed even as his cheeks blushed in embarrassment. Now that he had a home and was forming bonds with so many people along with a bit of changing hormones he found overly expressed affection a bit embarrassing. Although he still enjoyed watching his Mom and Dad kiss.
Ralph remembered back shortly after Drew's death when his Mom and Dad showed him a new plan to create a door in the wall of the living room of the master suite that would open into another room that would be converted to be his bedroom. He had kind of liked the idea but ultimately he decided that he liked having his own room separate but just down the hallway.
His parents just smiled with a nod. But they went ahead with the plans for the day that the twins were too big for the nursery. Lord Walter even went a step further and moved his study from the room it was in to the room across from the master chambers. Rather than tearing up the floor to put in plumbing to make it another living space. He then had a door put in besides the servant's door and the room behind it would become another bedroom for one of the twins when they reached an age that it be prudent and proper for one to be moved into it.
When Paige inquired about moving his study Walter took her into the servants hallway and walked to the wall that the stairs went down under and patted it.
"While I know you said you didn't want anymore children, but just in case you change your mind and we have any more children, this will give us a ready made room. And we can put the servants' door at the steps and remove the other." Walter told her before they kissed.
"Well I have to be honest, I hate the idea of you going out on missions without me but after Athena told us the way she did it made me actually want to reconsider my choice of having more children. I'm no longer saying no to more children, but it might be a few years. The twins should be good for another half hour at least. So I wouldn't say no to take the moment and we go practice conceiving a child right now." Paige winked as she grinned at him.
Walter's eyes went wide even as he kissed her and then scooped her up in his arms.
Sylvester walked in and Megan quickly followed without his pulling. While she was intrigued by everything she was seeing she was kind of wishing she had stayed at the Keep.
Jasper closed the door and pointed to the stairs. Sylvester smiled and nodded and led Megan over. Megan frowned as they were on their fifth set of stairs and yet from the outside the tower was only three stories high.
"Uh, Sylvester, I'm not complaining but." Megan started.
Sylvester smiled. "The tower is magical. It extends into another plane of existence."
Megan looked at him, "We're no long on Earth?"
Sylvester shook his head. "We're actually on the positive material plane. Just don't open a window and you will be okay."
Megan frowned. "What would happen if I did?"
"You'd be charged with an extreme amount of positive energy. There are many things that could happen. It could actually reverse your cellular age. Or it could actually disrupt your cellular life, or something in between, best not to experiment though." Sylvester told her.
A face peered over the banister above them, "Sylvester? Is that you lad?" Sylvester's Master called down the stairs.
Sylvester smiled. "It is Master. I've come with my girlfriend."
He smiled, "Then by all means get up here lad. Have you not yet learned how to fly?"
Sylvester grinned. "I have Master. But out of respect for you I chose not to flaunt my abilities."
His Master gestured and Sylvester and Megan found themselves at the top of the stairs. "Sometimes Sylvester a bit of flamboyance between pupil and Master is needed to demonstrate knowledge." He winked at him. "But so to is proper restraint."
Sylvester grinned and reached out his hand. His Master ignored his hand and looked at Megan. "Ladies first boy." His Master reached out to Megan.
Megan smiled and took his hand. The Master pulled her hand gently and kissed it. "It has been many years since such a lovely lady has graced my halls."
"Thank you sir." Megan responded politely.
"Farrish young lady." He told her.
"This is Megan, Master. Sister of Lord Walter of Scorpion Keep." Sylvester introduced her.
"Ah yes, I remember now. Lord Walter had tracked you down because of that wanted poster for the money you took." His Master looked at him over his glasses.
Sylvester blushed. "He did Master. He took it upon himself to right my wrong and then allowed me to work off that debt to him. He was so fair I chose to stay with him."
Farrish smiled and gestured and they walked into another room. "Have a seat. Tell me what brings you to my home. Surely you haven't come seeking my permission to marry."
Sylvester blushed again as he looked at Megan.
"Where are my manners?" Farrish went on and gestured and a tea set appeared on the table next to Megan, and an ice cold ale appeared next to Sylvester.
"While I would like your blessing Master, I mainly brought Megan for you to meet. Apparently Athena has chosen us for each other." Sylvester told him.
Farrish smiled.
"I've felt her presence on you for some time lad. But if she wants you together than my opinion really shouldn't matter." Farrish told him.
"It would still mean a lot to both of us Farrish." Megan told him with a smile.
Greetings! Hope everyone is doing well! They say the next week is going to be miserable here temp wise. High 80s and into the 90s. *yuck* Stories are still being quiet...So not sure what is going on.
