"I think I'm going to throw up," I mumbled, glancing up to my left at Fred who looked no better than I did.
"Try to avoid my shoes, my mum just had them shined."
"I'll keep that in mind."
Glinda and George were taking a nap straight after the test, so that left Fred and I to our own devices. I had wanted to stop by the greenhouses to practice more hands-on studying but I couldn't bring myself to walk that far.
"Oh," the memory of the small parlor from last night flashed in my head, "Do you know about this small little tea parlor on the seventh floor?"
"A tea parlor?" He asked incredulously, "All the way up there? I don't think so, why?"
"It's just so nice, I was so surprised to find it myself."
"So it's just a little sitting room or what? How'd you even find this place?"
"Oh, no, it's got the comfiest couch and then this little desk. It must be someone's old office or something, but it's got this enchanted fireplace, and-"
"What were you doing all the way up there anyways?" He interrupted me, looking a bit suspicious.
"I needed somewhere quiet to practice spells, my roommates were bothered by my mumbling so I went up there last night."
"Uh huh," he slowly said, "And when did you sleep during all that?"
I went quiet for a moment, glancing up at him nervously.
"I may or may not have, well- I didn't sleep. I couldn't, not when there was so much to review and-"
"We're going to your little tea room, and you're taking a nap." He stated, looking at me expectantly. "Go on, lead the way."
And so I followed in my footsteps, or at least what I remembered of them, to the hallway with the tapestry of Barnabas. Once the familiar piece of fabric caught my eye, I looked at the wall expecting to find a door where there wasn't one.
"What?" I said quietly, looking back and forth down the hallway for the familiar gray door, "It should be right here."
"I thought it was weird when you said seventh floor," Fred mumbled under his breath. "Maybe it's a bit further down than you remember."
"No, I'm sure it was in front of the tapestry," but I followed him down the hallway anyway. We walked back and forth like that two more times, just to make sure we hadn't missed it.
"Maybe you were on the other side of the castle and just got turned around," he suggested, patting me on the back. "It must've been late and you haven't been sleeping well."
"I guess so," I said glumly, wondering if the room was a lucid dream or something. "Let's go ahead to the library so we can..."
As we turned to head back to the shifting staircases I locked eyes with two iron door handles and a taunting gray wooden door.
"Merlin's beard," I whispered, "That's the door."
"That wasn't there a second ago, was it?" He whispered back. "I got some sleep last night, I know I'm not seeing things."
"No, this is what happened last night too, it only showed up after I walked around a bit." Hesitantly, I walked up to the door and knocked softly.
"Pardon us," I murmured as I pushed it open, just as silent as it had been the previous night.
The room looked slightly different than I remembered, for example the desk wasn't as big, and there was a sitting chair I didn't remember at all. If it was possible, the couch looked even more inviting...
"Wow, I've never seen this room before," Fred commented, looking around as he let his satchel slide off his shoulder onto the floor.
"I know, isn't it so odd?" I muttered, thinking about the odd door situation.
"Come to think of it," he paused, thinking for a moment, "Sometimes on the map, people would stand around here and just disappear off the paper. Do you think this place is charmed or something?"
"Perhaps we've found the secret professor's lounge," I laughed, sitting down on the couch and letting myself sink into the cushions. "Ah, this might be the most comfy piece of furniture ever."
"I doubt it compares to my bed," he said smoothly, smiling when he noticed me look away as my ears tinged red. "Let me give it a go."
He took his robe off and tossed it on the chair before plopping down next to me, letting out a sigh of relief as he too sunk into the couch.
"Isn't it so relaxing?" I asked, staring at the ceiling.
"This is the most relaxed I've felt since the holiday."
"Right on, O.W.L.s are taking years off my life at this point."
"I might just join you for this nap, I don't think I'll be able to get up now that I've tasted such luxury."
"Mm," I hummed, already slumping over into a halfway laying down position.
"Sure hope nobody else comes in here," he mumbled, pulling my shoes off for me and laying down next to me.
Sure, it was a bit of a tight squeeze, but we had shared a twin bed at the Burrow-sharing a huge couch like this was a piece of cake. Even with the extra room, though, Fred chose to pull my back against his stomach tightly. His arm felt like a heavy blanket across my waist as I felt him breathing against me.
Perhaps it was the stress getting to me, or how comfortable this couch was, but I ended up with a bit of a problem. A very embarrassing, humiliating problem...the worst part may be that Fred caught onto it immediately.
"What's this now?" He teased in a sleepy voice. "Soot, you dirty dog, we're supposed to be taking a nap."
"I-I'm not...I didn't mean to," I quietly sputtered, glad I was facing away from him. I knew whatever face he was making would probably send me into a spiral, and I'd have to find some empty bathroom around here to take care of...this.
"Mm, I'm just that irresistible I suppose," he placed a gentle kiss on the back of my neck, sending a jolt down my spine and causing my whole body to flinch.
"Fred, someone could walk in," I muttered, clenching my hands around the soft pillow my head rested on.
"I don't know, it was pretty hard to find," Fred reasoned, his hand pressing against my lower stomach.
I could oddly feel the heat of his hand through my jumper and my dress shirt, which sent tingles shooting out in branching directions and making my whole body feel warm and sticky.
"I-Hah," I breathed out harshly as I felt Fred slip his leg between mine to apply pressure through my pants. My hands snapped down to place themselves over his as they ventured down toward the button of my trousers. "Fred..."
"Yes?" He asked simply, smiling against the back of my neck before planting another kiss against my skin. "What is it?"
"You can't-" I pressed my lips together tightly as I felt his fingers graze over the fabric of my trousers, light butterfly touches that somehow drove me more crazy than his lips brushing dangerously close to my hot skin.
"I can't what?" He continued to tease, but his tone of voice kept getting closer and closer to just a gravelly mumble.
"That," I whimpered as his fingers slipped below my waistband, carefully running along my skin.
"Hm," he hummed, the vibration tingling against my back, "Why not?"
"I'm-" I choked out, caught off guard by the sudden foreign sensation of being touched by someone else. My body shook involuntarily and I couldn't help but flinch and jolt at every little movement.
The sensations were just so different than doing it alone, and my thoughts were racing to the point I couldn't even distinguish what they were. Flashes of warmth rushed through my body and my muscles kept involuntarily tensing as my body seemingly glitched in Fred's grip.
"I'm not going to lie, Soot, you're really cute right now," he whispered into my ear, eliciting an embarrassing noise from the back of my throat. My hands gripped around his forearms tightly to ground me to something.
It felt like my head was spinning-between his hands and his lips, Fred left me no pause to collect myself.
