Chapter two:
Kaoru has joined the others in the host club room. He hurries to his spot as the door starts to open.
"Welcome!" They all greet whoever is entering as Tamaki tosses rose petals into the air.
Haruhi is the one that is standing there looking a little confused and annoyed.
Tamaki heads over to Haruhi and offers his hand in greeting. "Welcome. I do believe you haven't been to our club room before."
"I just wanted to find a room to study in." Haruhi shifts away from Tamaki who tries to follow causing a slight chase around the room.
"Nonsense. Come relax with us." Tamaki offers to Haruhi who keeps moving away from him.
"I'm fine. I really am." Haruhi tells Tamaki as the two go back and forth about this.
Kaoru turns to look to Hikaru meeting with his eyes.
Hikaru just shrugs to Kaoru. "What can we say? It's Tamaki."
Kaoru nods softly and glances back to watch Tamaki and Haruhi. "Should we stop him?" He inquires to which he notices Kyouya heading after Tamai so he lets him deal with it. He notices Tamaki is backing Haruhi towards the vase they are going to sell at the school auction. "Wait!" He calls out causing them to stop to turn to him. He gestures to the vase to which Haruhi and Tamaki seem relieved that they were stopped.
Kyouya comes up to beside Haruhi causing her to turn to him. "You're Haurhi Fujioka are you not? The commoner that was accepted into the school."
Haruhi blinks at Kyouya. "Yes I am. How did you know?"
"I make sure I know about every student in this school." Kyouya pushes up his glasses with the lenses reflecting the light hiding his eyes. "It can come in handy really."
"Well look I didn't mean to barge into your club room. I just wanted to study." Haruhi informs him though their attention is brought to Tamaki when he snaps his fingers.
"That's it! Haruhi it doesn't seem like you are in any clubs yet right?"
"I don't really need to be in one." Haruhi tries to point out then Tamaki turns to the rest of them. "Should we have Haruhi join us? I am sure that our guests will find it cool to talk to a commoner!" He glances back to Haruhi who is definitely annoyed now. "We can just fix you up and you'll fit right in."
"Look I'm not really-" Haruhi begins only to be cut off by Tamaki.
"What do you all say?"
"I am fine with it. The more friends the better." Hunny chimes up and Mori nods his head.
"It could help raise our profits." Kyouya mentions writing in his little black book he is always carrying around.
The attention turns to Kaoru.
Kaoru glances to Hikaru not really sure about this. He can see Hikaru isn't sure either. He glances back to Tamaki who smiles comfortingly to him.
"You can give it a chance Kaoru." Tamaki heads over to him putting an arm around the other. "What did Hikaru say?"
"He doesn't seem sure either." Kaoru admits causing Haruhi to stare at them in confusion.
"Kaoru has what I believe is some sort of spirit that follows and talks to him. Only he can see it but we include this ghost in on things." Kyouya explains to Haruhi who has her look change to one that suggests she thinks Kaoru is crazy, or has some sort of mental condition that should be looked at. "He's not really used to letting others in. He can manage the guests but anyone who could be a potential friend he isn't great at opening up to new friends." He adds to Haruhi. "But he is a really great person once he opens up to you."
"Well the others seem to like Haruhi." Hikaru mentions to Kaoru gaining his attention. "Why not give… Him? Her? … A chance."
"Maybe." Kaoru sneaks a peek at Haruhi.
"Well I think it is settled!" Tamaki heads back over to Haruhi. "We can fix you up and you can join our club!"
Haruhi seems hesitant at first though seems to realize that Tamaki probably won't give up. "Fine. I guess I'll try it if it'll mean you stop bugging me about it."
"Great! You're going to love it here!" Tamaki has an arm around Haruhi leading the other further into the room. "Now let's get you fixed up shall we? I am sure there is a handsome man in there."
"Yeah sure." Haruhi just seems to go along with it. Planning on probably quitting at some point. Having only agreed to stop the pestering.
Soon enough there is staff that Tamaki has called in that are fixing Haruhi up.
Kaoru stays further back than the others. He is leaning against a wall his legs and arms crossed. He watches as the others wait for Haruhi to come out with the new look. "I don't think Haruhi will stay very long." He mentions to Hikaru who hums in thought.
"Maybe. Though Tamaki does have a way of persuading others." Hikaru points out to the only person who can see him. "I mean he got you to join and you're happy here." He points out turning to look to the other.
"Yeah. I suppose you're right on that." Kaoru sighs. He'll just have to figure things out as things go along. He knows that his friends will be understanding to not push him into opening up to Haruhi.
"Wow Haruhi! You look so good!" Hunny mentions as Kaoru stays where he is watching.
"I do say that you look like you're from as rich of a family as the rest of us like that." Tamaki hums in agreement and Kyouya is smiling as if pleased with the results.
"I suppose I do look better." Haruhi admits then moves past them to a spot where Kaoru can see the other indeed looking much better. Hari cut shorter looking much better, contacts put in instead of wearing the glasses. Even wearing an official male school uniform now.
Kaoru notices Haurhi glancing to him so he just offers the otehr a small nod to confirm the look is good. He doesn't approach though as he keeps his distance.
"Allow me to get you acquainted with our club room and our club." Tamaki takes Haruhi showing the commoner where everything is while also explaining the club.
Kaoru turns to look out one of the windows wondering if Haruhi really will stay or just quit after a little bit of time. He closes his eyes supposing that he won't really know until it is decided by the commoner. He opens his eyes and glances up noticing Hikaru floating by him looking at his face worriedly. He offers a quick small smile then glances away. He isn't really sure that he likes this suddenly happening no matter the fact that there is a chance that it won't be for long. He had hoped that he wouldn't have to welcome any new friends into his life. He really doesn't want to take the chance of letting Haruhi in if there is a chance that the other could end up leaving. He feels stuck and not fully sure what to really do about all of this.
