Weeks turn into a month, and then that one month turns into two, and then three, and before long Cloverfield Isle is wrapping its second season. Beck and Jade continue their secret rendezvous, successfully keeping out of the public eye. They opt not to put a label on...whatever it is...deciding that it's more fun without the pressure of doing so. Technically if they wanted to they could each also be hooking up with other people, they're not exclusive by any means, but neither one of them do.

"You're sure you have everything handled?" Jade asks as she hands the kids' overnight bag to Andrew

"Yes." Andrew sighs "And don't pressure me into taking them for a weekend and then try to belittle me, it's a bit twisted."

"Shouldn't have to pressure you into spending time with your own children, Andrew."

"Whatever." Andrew rolls his eyes "I said yes, didn't I?"

"You did." Jade nods "Reluctantly, but you did."

Truth be told, she hadn't expected him to put up such a fight about the whole thing. Jade is used to having to put some pressure on her ex- fiancé to spend time with Harper, but he normally jumps at the opportunity to spend time with Drew...even if it includes rearranging his studio schedule or taking him to work with him. The thought of taking Drew overnight seemed to frighten Andrew, however, and the thought of taking both children overnight was even worse.

"By noon on Sunday, right?" Andrew confirms "You'll come for them by then?"

"Yes..." Jade sighs "Don't sound so excited to have a whole weekend of uninterrupted time with your children."

"I just..." Andrew hesitates "I don't know if I've ever been on my own with them this long, even when we were together."

"You'll be fine." Jade assures him "And if all else fails, you have Sydney."

While Jade isn't thrilled about Andrew entering and staying in a relationship with the woman he had cheated on her with, it at least brings her slight peace of mind that she has a degree in Child Development. At one point she had trusted Sydney to care for her children as their nanny, and although she had broken that trust by sleeping with her fiancé...that doesn't mean she isn't capable. Still, it's odd to be standing back in the penthouse condo she had once called home, even though it never really felt like it, looking at the clear evidence that Andrew has moved on with someone else and all but erased her from the picture.

"She's back in Portland this weekend." Andrew remarks "Some family thing, I dunno."

"Oh..." Jade suddenly feels a bit less at peace "Well, I'm sure you wouldn't have needed her anyway. You'll be fine."

"Do you have to go?" Harper looks up at Jade with sad eyes "I don't want you to."

"Yeah, Mama no go." Drew agrees

"I do have to go, yeah." Jade frowns, kneeling down to be more level with her children "I'll be back before you know it, and you'll be having so much fun with your daddy that you won't even notice I'm gone."

"Promise?"

"Promise." Jade nods "Now gimme hugs before I go."

Both Harper and Drew lean into her and she squeezes them tightly to her, pressing a kiss to the top of each of their heads before letting go and standing up.

"By Sunday at noon." She confirms with Andrew one last time, and he nods in agreement "Alright you two, be good for Daddy. I love you."

"Love you!"

"Love you!"

"C'mon Drew." Andrew nods towards the living room "Let's go play with your cars."

Jade watches both Drew and Harper follow Andrew over to the bin of toys in the living room as he begins pulling out all of their favorites. After a few moments, she gives Andrew a brief wave to signal that she's leaving, and he nods to signal that he saw her. The kids don't even notice that she slips out the door, which is a relief because she isn't sure if they would be upset if they did.

It's an odd feeling, walking to her car without any children in tow. Usually when she drops them off for an afternoon visit on Wednesday's, she has to go to work. She hasn't had a free weekend to herself since before Harper was born, and she isn't sure how she feels about it. One thing Jade does know for sure, however, is that she's going to enjoy herself this weekend, she thinks that she deserves it.

The season two wrap party takes place at the same restaurant that the season one wrap party had. Beck and Jade arrive separately, and barely interact with one another throughout the course of the evening. They make polite pleasantries, take a few pictures with the rest of the cast, but no one from the outside looking in would know that they had spent the last three months hooking up in secret and had plans to consider doing so later that evening.

They stagger their departures from the restaurant so that no one suspects anything. Beck leaves first and Jade sticks around for about forty-five minutes longer, talking with a few studio executives and representatives from Netflix in an attempt to make herself look put together enough to consider for future projects once Cloverfield Isle runs it's course. When she finally leaves, she tells her Uber driver to take her to her own home, then drives her own car over to Beck's once she's sure the car that had delivered her is out of the vicinity.

For once, there's no worry of getting caught. No having to be quiet so no one will walk into Jade's office or Beck's trailer to investigate, no anxiety about whether or not Harper or Drew will wake up and need something. The pair is completely alone in Beck's home with the exception of Stella, who isn't thrilled about getting kicked out of the bedroom but isn't making too big of a fuss over it either. Both Beck and Jade make comments about how relaxing the privacy is, and how much they enjoy it.

"I've been thinking..." Beck says has he wraps an arm around Jade's naked body "These past few months have been fun, haven't they?"

"They have." Jade agrees, snuggling up closer to him "Especially doing it all in secret, adds another level of excitement."

"What if it didn't have to be a secret anymore?"

"How do you mean?"

"I mean that I think what we have here is good." Beck tells her "We've both grown as people and we've both matured...I want you to be my girlfriend."

"Beck-"

"I'm tired of the 'friends with benefits' thing." He continues "Don't get me wrong, it's been great. But I can see the potential for so much more than that."

Jade can't deny that he's right. There's definitely something between them, something stronger than just lust. She isn't sure if it's love...but maybe it could be, and that scares her.

"So can I..." She admits

"You can?"

"Yeah."

"So we can give this a try?" Beck asks her, a hopeful look on his face

"Only if we promise not to hurt each other the way we did before."

"I promise." Beck nods

"I promise too."

"We're doing this thing then?" Beck grins

"Definitely." Jade nods, biting her lip "And I think that calls for a celebration."

"You won't have to tell me twice." Beck laughs, pulling her on top of him
