It was a nice summer morning. Sardonyx was just beginning to wake up. Steven came in. "Good morning Sardonyx. Did you like sleeping?", he asked. "Oh, certainly darling. It just felt so much more... relaxing than the energizer pods. We didn't even have to close our eyes like that or anything, we just got pumped with energy while we did work."

Steven thought. "What kind of work?", he asked. Sardonyx stood up, stretching. "Oh, mostly just intergalactic communications, nothing major." Steven chuckled. "Yeah... really easy stuff...", he joked. She looked out the window. "Though, I had a strange vision. It didn't quite feel normal." Steven looked outside as well. "That's a dream. Sometimes you dream about weird stuff. I had a dream about giant pancakes, and they were delicious." Sardonyx looked confused. "Erm, what exactly is a pancake?" Steven's stomach rumbled. "More importantly, why is your body making that upset noise?", she added, looking at his belly.

"Oh, I didn't have breakfast yet, so my stomach is rumbling. Don't worry though, it's normal when you're hungry. Come downstairs, Connie's making us pancakes."

Steven and Sardonyx went downstairs. "So, what other Earth activities do you take part in?", Sardonyx asked as she followed Steven to the dining room. "Well, we're going to go have some fun after we finish our breakfast."

"Hm? Fun? What... is that?"

"Well, fun is whatever you want it to be. Maybe you'll find something you like today."

Connie brought the pancakes to the table. "Hi Sardonyx. I know you're an alien and everything, so have you eaten before?", Connie asked. "Eating? I don't quite know what that is. My body simply made its own energy. Although I'm willing to try anything." Steven put a pancake on her plate. "So you kind of use this knife to cut it, then you bring the pancake to your mouth, put it in and then chew and swallow." Sardonyx tried it and it was... amazing for her. She smiled, starting to glow a green-ish color.

"Uh... is this normal for you, Sardonyx?", Steven asked Sard. "Oh?"

"You're glowing...", Connie added. "That? Don't worry at all, I just have a habit of doing that when I'm excited. I just felt a sense I hadn't before." Steven chuckled. "That's the taste of it. You like it, I bet?", Steven asked, relieved that the glowing was normal for her.

Steven and Connie walked on their way to town, Sardonyx following closely behind. She didn't know a thing about Earth, but she loved how beautiful it looked. So colorful, at least for her.

"Hey Steven!", a woman called, riding over on a motorcycle. She had pink hair, and dark green eyes. She wore a white shirt and had dark green pants and black biker boots. Around her waist was a green sweatshirt. "Hi Sabina. How's it been going for you?", Connie greeted. "So far today, pretty well. Hey, who's that?"

Sardonyx had a strange feeling in her. One that she had never felt before. She came to Sabina, the wind softly blowing her hair. "Hello, dear. I'm Sardonyx. And you're Sabina, correct?"

Sabina nodded. "Yeah. It's nice to meet you, Sardonyx. Nice dress, I think it looks good on you." Sardonyx smiled. "Aw, thank you darling!" The four of them walked to Funland. "Hm, this strange place you've brought me to... what is it?"

"It's Funland. There's a lot of things you might like here. Maybe you'll find something here."

Steven and Connie walked off, leaving Sabina with Sardonyx. "So... what do you wanna do?", Sabina asked. Sardonyx thought, looking around. "I don't quite know yet. Perhaps if you show me some things you enjoy, I might like one of them." Sabina looked at the girl in front of her. She looked a bit cold. "I had no idea this planet's climate was so cold."

"Yeah, it's pretty cold around here sometimes. I know a shoe store a couple blocks from here. You wanna see if there's a pair you like?" Sardonyx nodded. "I've never been to a... sa-tore before. How does it work?", she asked, to which Sabina giggled. "Oh, Steven told me about you being from another planet. It's okay, I'll show you around. We'll get you some shoes and then I'll let you pick what we do next. And, it's pronounced "store"."

Sabina walked into the shoe store with Sard. After measuring her shoe size, she brought her a pair of white dress shoes. "Try these." She slipped them onto Sardonyx's feet. "How do they feel?", she asked. "They feel so amazing, dear! You certainly found a great pair." Sabina smiled. "I'm glad you like them."

Sabina walked outside. "Alright, whatcha wanna do now? You wanna go skating, or maybe watch a movie, or..." She had a confident smirk. "You wanna go for a ride?"

"What kind of ride?", Sardonyx asked. Sabina pulled up in her motorcycle. "Hop on." Sardonyx sat in the sidecar. She looked to Sabina as she gripped the handlebars. "Is this really safe?", she asked. Sabina nodded. "Of course. I got something I'd like to show you." Sardonyx turned her head. "You do? What is it?"

"You'll see." Sabina began along the road, every once in a while looking to Sardonyx. She enjoyed the ride, liking the scenery. "You like it?", Sabina yelled over the loud engine of her motorcycle. "I love it!", Sardonyx replied. "It reminds me so much of space travel! The thrill of it was so joyful!"

Sabina pulled up to Funland. "Oh, I remember this! Steven showed me this earlier, didn't he?", Sardonyx thought out loud. Sabina nodded. "I know something you'll just love here." She brought the alien to a game where you had to throw a ball at colored milk jugs to knock them over and win a prize. The three jugs were stacked in a small pyramid about ten or so feet from where the players stood.

Sardonyx looked at the stuffed prizes. They all seemed odd to her. "These beings... they're all so adorable!", she exclaimed, a smile growing across her face. But one caught her eyes. It was a plush of a green alien with a top hat and bow tie.

Sardonyx was determined to have it. "Sabina, this is the most amazing thing I have ever seen!", she told her, pointing to the alien plush. "I see why you'd like it. You seem into the space theming. Anyway, all you need to do in order to get it is to throw this ball at those jugs to knock them all over.", Sabina explained, paying the attendee a dollar and giving a ball to Sardonyx.

She faced the stack of jugs, ball in hand. Sabina watched as she threw the ball towards them.

The jugs fell off their pedestal as Sardonyx cheered with glee. She was handed her plush. "It's just sooo adorable, look at its little hands!" Sabina walked with her to where Steven was. "Hey Steven, how's it been going for you?", Sabina asked. "I've been good. Me and Connie rode the rollercoaster a couple times."

"Wow, you got a new pair of shoes?", he asked, looking at Sardonyx's shoes. Sardonyx nodded. "I also made a new friend today.", she replied, pointing to her plush. "Sardonyx won it at the milk jug toss. She's pretty happy with it."

Steven brought Sardonyx home after a bit. "Steven, today was so fun. You were certainly right, I did find something I liked.", she stated, holding her plush she had won. "I guess you did. Why don't I heat up some leftover pizza for dinner?"

"Hm? What is that? It sounds interesting, like those pancakes earlier." A knock was heard at the door. Steven looked to see who it was. It was Sabina. "Hey, I came to see if Sard wanted to have a sleepover."

"What's a sleepover?", she asked Sabina as she came in. "Well, a sleepover is when you meet up with a friend and spend the night at their house with them. You do all kinds of fun stuff and you can get to know them better. That's the main reason I'm inviting you. You're the kind of girl I'd like to know more about. So, whatcha say?" Sardonyx nodded, feeling that strange feeling she felt earlier.

She got into Sabina's car and they went to her house to start their sleepover.
