Yu stepped into the hall, bag slung over his shoulder and heavy with books and binders filled from page to page with handwritten notes. The intricacies of a school for "Hunters", was yet a foreign concept to him, but it didn't stop him from learning as much as he could about the subject. In spite of this, however, he felt just as, if not a little more lost than he was when he first arrived.

He heaved a heavy sigh as he made his way downstairs into the lobby of the dormitory, rubbing the call to return to the soft bed for a few more moments of rest out of his eyes. After his experience the previous day, he had slept more soundly than he had in ages. The western bed frame and soft mattress was a welcome change from the futon he was familiar with, if a little less convenient for space and he made a mental note to make the most of that with several days of oversleeping. He hadn't felt as though he'd gotten a proper rest ever since the incidents of last year, and he had an inkling that his traveling companion hadn't either.

He saw Yukiko as he opened the door into the common area, black hair done up in a ponytail, (She was likely just as tired as he was.) legs crossed and studying a page of a book closely. She looked up as she heard the door open, smiling and offering a little wave before collecting her own belongings as she rose up to meet with him. He nodded in return as she approached, opening the door for her on the way out and they proceeded to make their way across the campus.

They walked in silence for a few serene minutes, taking in the sights of grand campus, and the sea over the cliffs before Yukiko closed her book and spoke up. "This place really is beautiful, being able to see the sea from the my window, It's hard to believe that this is a normal school for people here.." Yu hummed thoughtfully in response as he watched students rushing to the first class of the semester. It was different, certainly, but the degree of familiarity was uncanny. "It reminds me of Tatsumi Port Island."

"It may have been the same for Mitsuru-san and her friends", Yukiko mused as they approached the main dome, opening the doors. "I wonder if she felt the same way as I do in her situation." She shuddered as she made her way toward their assigned room. Yu smiled as he opened the door for them both and stepping into the spacious lecture hall. "I'm sure she did, but now's a bit late to let the nerves get to us now, right? It wouldn't look go for either of us to bow out at his point." She sighed, and offered a light smirk to him before straightening her posture and striding confidently into the room behind him.

The other students had already arrived beforehand, and begun shuffling into place and preparing notes for the lecture. Narukami recognized the familiar faces of team JNPR and RWBY from yesterday's orientation from amongst the attendees. Spirits weren't particularly high within some of the teams, but there was still an eagerness to get started that permeated the air. Something to work with, at the very least.

As if on queue, as soon as he and Yukiko took their seats at the front of the hall, the bell rang and the door opened. One of the head staff members, Glynda Goodwitch, if he recalled correctly, stepped in alongside a stocky man with an impressive moustache. The chatter echoing throughout the hall ceased gradually as they took their place in the center of the room, in front of the desk.

"Good morning, students. As you all know, I am Glynda Goodwitch, and this is professor Peter Port. He will be your instructor on Grimm studies during your time here at beacon." The man smiled (Was that a smile underneath that curtain?) and offered a light bow at the introduction before the woman carried on. "He, along with the rest us staff here at beacon will be involved heavily in your growth into competent hunters. That being said..." She sighed, straightened her back, leveled her gaze, seemingly staring into the eyes at everyone at once.

"Ozpin spoke true during yesterday's orientation. Knowledge will only carry you so far. Experience will do the rest of the heavy lifting. Of course, as many of you may have guessed already, the truth is a little more nuanced this, and while your time here are beacon will afford you many and more opportunities to acquire that experience, there are some things that are simply better handled in a traditional teaching environment." Seeing the confused looks on the students faces, she continued. "To facilitate this, we will be conducting mandatory, supplementary lessons that will touch on subjects not usually covered by the standard curriculum. Staff limitations can make this difficult, however, and so we've begun a new program in which you will see your upperclassman, along with other experts in various fields instructing you in various disciplines."

Surprised mumurs immediately flooded the room, which were silenced almost immediately by a loud snap as Glynda carried on. "You will see changes to your schedule in the coming days, and you will be happy to know that this coursework will not be traditionally graded, nor will it be limited to a typical lecture hall format or normal class hours. Some classes will be instructed by myself or Ozpin instructing you directly, while many will be overseen by various members of team CFVY." She paused for a moment, eyes moving over to the pair seated up front. "Your first such auxiliary course, will begin today, and I would like to introduce your instructors. Mr. Narukami and Ms. Amagi, would you two come forward?"

Eyes widened as they saw their peers step forward to the center of the room. Yu turned to size up the room as his fellow students did the same to him, before speaking. "Good morning, everyone. I'm Yu, and this Yukiko. The two of us be leading the teamwork and leadership seminar."

Weiss could scarce comprehend the situation in front of her. Students hardly older than she were her instructors? It was one thing to have already had the role of leader taken from her by that brat, but this was another thing entirely. The rest of her team ran the gamut of entirely unintrested to downright giddy, but she was not in a particularly calm enough mood to berate them for not knowing any better.

"The two of us will be conducting excercises and holding open dialogue seminars around the subject so as to fascilitate a healthy and productive environment for teams here at Beacon. Teams are bound to have growing pains, but so as proper steps are taken, they can be just that - aches suffered in favor of strong growth.", the black-haired girl carried on. "But before we go into detail on the lessons we plan on giving, maybe we can break the ice with some background on us? You can refer to the two of us as Team ANSI, or 'Answer'. And as we're sure you've noticed, we're novice hunters, just like the rest of you. Outside of these lessons, we ask that you treat us the same as you would any other."

Weiss's hand shot up, and she was speaking before either of the pair had a chance to address her. "I'm sorry, but why are these two our instructors? If I'm remembering right, they were neither there for the fight with the Nevermore, nor did they collect any of the pieces during the evaluation."

Glynda opened her mouth to speak, before the grey-haired by walked up to ask her something that Weiss couldn't hear. The professor's eyes mulled over him for a moment before nodding, offering a curt dismissal to the rest of the class on behalf of herself and professor Port before leaving. After the door closed, Narukami turned to Weiss, eyes steady in way that she wasn't entirely comfortable with. "Before I answer your question.." he began, casting a look at his companion for a moment before continuing.

"What's your name?"

"Weiss Schnee."

"Weiss, what can you tell *me* about what a leader should be?"

Weiss hesitated. If she was being honest with herself, she didn't interject with an entire plan in mind. She did intend to voice her resignations with the situation, however, and she had no intention of starting off on her back foot. So she pushed back. "A leader should be strong, reliable, and confident, ready to take responsibility and guide their team to success."

Yu placed a hand in his pocket, relaxing his posture and leaning against the desk as he looked at her, clearly expecting her to keep talking. She stopped for a moment, wondering if this was a trap, but her pride stopped her from conceding so quickly. "A team can't function without a leader, they're the glue that holds the group together, and they have to make sure to always be the pillar of the group."

He looked as though he wanted to let her keep going, but the girl next to him, who had sat on the desk at this point spoke up. "What does everyone else think? This ideal leader Weiss has conjured - They sound like a person you'd be willing to follow, right?" Tentative nods all around. Weiss would think she held the advantage if she didn't recognize this approach. Luckily for her, she had the foresight to be careful with her definition so they could not skew her approach. The worse they could do is be picky about her description.

"Weiss, do you think you embody all of these traits?"

Maybe she wasn't as careful as she thought she was.

Ruby's eyes were wide open, Yang stifled a cough that also sounded suspiciously like a laugh, and Blake looked suddenly interested. Best to play her cards carefully, then. "More than most, I would say. What are you implying?"

Yukiko didn't miss a beat. "Then you're either ignorant or delusional. When we watched the evaluation, you were incredibly uncooperative until the situation absolutely demanded it and your partner was in mortal danger. After the team leaders were announced, the disappointment at seeing Ruby announced as the team leader was written all over your face. Already this behavior isn't anything like the leader you just described, right?"

Weiss gritted her teeth, but kept her mouth shut as she continued. "I don't want to sound overly critical here, especially since we're all here to learn, but I just want to point out the unfairness in your claim. You would, without a doubt, seek to defend yourself by stating you came here to learn. Learn to become a huntress and a leader. I think it's only fair that you afford that same defense to your teammates."

That's what you call not being "overly critical" ?! Weiss was dumbfounded for a moment at how blunt she had been. Yukiko had a point, of course. She hadn't exactly wanted to hold hands and skip with Ruby, but it wasn't as though she made it easy, right? She had a feeling that most normal people without the patience of a saint would have come to the same conclusion. How simple for an outsider looking in to criticize her actions - it's not as though their lives were in danger. The prevailing issue had yet to be solved, however. "I'll concede that I didn't make the best decisions, but who's to say anyone else would have done better in that situation? Aren't we here to learn to do better? And how are we to do that when we're not being taught by those who know better?

Yu spoke this time. "Who's a better teacher of teamwork and leadership than from your own teammates and leaders? We're not here to teach you, you know. This is a seminar, so everyone's input is expected. Neither of us are claiming to be experts on the subject, and I only imagine Ozpin selected us because we're a team that already works well together - something many of you could learn from." He looked around the auditorium before speaking again. "Don't forget. Yukiko and I? We're students here - just like you all. We're all here because there's more we can learn from one another than each of us can alone. I'm willing to bet that in a fight, any one of you would delivery far more than the two of us could together. In that regard, I expect we have far more to learn from you than you do us." He smirked, and Yukiko nodded enthusiastically in confirmation. She seemed pretty excited - have they really come here without any meaningful combat experience? Based on his sloppy performance yesterday, Jean probably had too, but.. She shook her head. At this point her mind was racing with far too many thoughts to even think of what to say - at the very least, a seminar would let her prove to both herself and others that she was more than capable of being a leader. Plus, the added bonus of being able to wipe that stoic look off of Yu's face would certainly be worth the trouble he and his companion were stirring up. She leaned back in her chair, flicking her wrist in dismissal. The two of them took that as a sign that she was done interrupting and continued on, explaining the details of the what the expectations were of that course. Most of what they said faded into the background as Weiss mulled over everything she had been over for the past two days. Her head was throbbing, and when the head splitting ring of the bell ushering them to their next class pierced the air, she knew she was in for a rough year.
