I know the chapter is short, but I can say that pretty much all of the chapters in 'Tohru is Kyo's Muse' are going to be a bit on the short side, considering that this fanfiction is set during the love-kittens' childhood.

disclamation: I do not own Fruits Basket in any way, shape, or form. all rights of ownership in the anime go to the folks of the Funimation Anime Company in the US and the staff of TV Tokyo in Japan. all rights of the manga's ownership go to Natsuki Takaya-sensei.

the only thing I own from Fruits Basket is this fanfiction and my other one, 'A Catboy's First and Only Love'. I also own any other 'Fruits Basket' fanfiction that I write in the future, but those are fanfictions for another day.

Little Kyo Sohma walked home to his adoptive father's house. He thought about Tohru all the way to the house. Kyo continued to think about Tohru all through the night; he thought about her at his dinner table, and he even dreamt of her as he slept.

The next morning, little Kyo painted many pictures of Tohru in his art class. They all bore a completely striking resemblance to her. Kyo's art teacher was amazed with his skills. But, to Kyo, they did not feel like that much of an accomplishment and they just were not as good as the real thing to him.

A/N: Partly, because he wanted to accomplish martial arts & beat his rival, Yuki Sohma, but mostly, because the real Tohru would've been like the paintings, only a whole lot better.

Kyo just kept painting pictures of Tohru to control his feelings, hoping it would relieve of the part of him that ached for her. But no such luck. He felt as though he had to meet her, like he'd already met her mother, Kyoko Honda.
