It's Jess' birthday and Sam isn't doing too well. He gets a little help from a friend.

Nine-year-old Adam's loyalties are tested by his friendship with his father's prisoner, the angel Samandriel. His family connection is weak and new, and the draw to Samandriel is strong, even though they hardly know each other. John and Dean also captured Castiel, and Sam is Gabriel's prisoner in Heaven. AU; no pairings.

Set end of season 8. Kevin was just some nerd with a dream set on a fancy school and ordinary life; he wasn't the Winchesters. Sometimes he forgets that they are human too. Sam hurting from the trials, Dean doing what he does best.

Cas has pins and needles in his wings so he decides to stretch them out for a little while... but Sam has a rather peculiar reaction. Just cute fluff. Slight slash perhaps.

Summary: The story picks up after Castiel dies at the hands of Lucifer in the season 12 finale. He is now a prisoner in Purgatory where the archangel Raphael has declared himself king. Written in scenes instead of chapters, so some "chapters" may befairly short. My first story so reviews are appreciated.
