Dean is in a big fight, and then finds that Cas saves him and his dying brother. Cas is a bit melodramatic about finding Dean like this, and Dean falls asleep...what he dreams about is...no surprise to Cas.

In the year 2016 all demon activity as stopped. Sam and Dean are unsure and nervous about why. It makes no sense to them and the quiet is unsettling. In the year 2040 demons have slowly begun to return. Joanna and Jessica Winchester are on a mission to stop the evil, but when Jo finds herself in the year 2016 and Sam finds himself in the year 2040 things get turned upside down.

Post-series, the boys are in their late forties and have settled in a neighborhood of Chicago. Sam works as a lawyer at a non-profit. Office hours are eight to five, Monday through Friday. He goes overboard during a busy week at work, and leftovers wait for him in the microwave when he gets home. His week is interrupted by an unexpected visit at the office, when he's at wit's end.

Sam's powers are blocked by a demon. Dean has a revelation about said powers.
