Cameras flashed as Secretary of State Ross stepped up to the podium.

"Good morning, and thank you for coming. It is my responsibility to make you, the public aware of the escape of two convicts yesterday, July the 2nd. The prisoners in question are Sam Wilson, alias: Falcon, and Sharice Wilder. Both were imprisoned under the ruling of the Sokovian Accords, for aiding and abetting a fugitive, and interfering in the arrest of the same fugitive. It is believed they had help from this same criminal and his associates to escape.

"Every resource is being employed to track their whereabouts, multiple intelligence agencies are working together and we will find them. I implore the public to be careful, these are extremely dangerous individuals and should not be approached under any condition. A special task force is being equipped to take them down and we ask any local law enforcers to keep their distance as well, we want to avoid any casualties in apprehending these vicious criminals. Anyone caught assisting or hiding them will face justice. Sightings should be reported to the number on the banner."

Ross took a step back and questions rose from his audience immediately.

"Do you know if the fugitives have weapons?"

"It should be assumed that they have armed themselves, yes." Ross answered

"Which prison did they escape from?"

"That is classified."

"How is the public supposed to feel safe if you can't even tell them where the jailbreak occurred?"

"We are doing everything we can to protect the public and apprehend the criminals. No further questions." Ross turned his back and walked away as the buzz grew through the crowd of reporters.

Somewhere in the US,

"Shay!"

Sam had pulled her into a hug before the front door closed, lifting her off her feet and spinning in a circle.

"Steve's back too you know…" Shay laughed as Casper followed Steve down the hall.

Sam set her back down, hands on her shoulders, inspecting her eyes. His voice lowered, "Yeah, but he wasn't slowly dying in the cell next to mine for a week. You're really, ok? Your sense is back?"

"Yeah, I'm good." She hugged him back, "thanks for being there, Sam."

The glow swallowed them, and Sam squeezed back, relief flooding through their connection. Wanda greeted her in the kitchen with a hug and a mug of tea.

Shay settled into a chair, breathing in the minty steam with a heavy sigh. "So where are Clint and the bug-guy?"

"I sent them home as soon as you left, it would've looked suspicious if they were missing when the breakout was discovered." Sam answered.

"So, where do we go from here?" Wanda asked, sitting next to Shay.

"Sam and I are the fugitives here, neither of you have technically broken any laws as far as anyone knows. Tony can't admit what happened in Siberia or he'd be arrested too." Shay rubbed her hands thoughtfully.

"We can't exactly go home, though, can we?" Steve countered. "Ross might not have any evidence, but you know he suspects us."

"And the government would love to lock me up in a dark hole somewhere." Wanda spoke bitterly, hugging herself.

"We won't let that happen." Shay laid a hand on her arm, "I've got a place."

"Ross has confiscated all our assets." Sam interjected.

"Only the ones he knows about." She smiled darkly, "I always have a backup plan, remember?"

"Anyone ever tell you, you're a little paranoid?"

"Is it paranoid if someone's really after you?" crossing her arms she added, "I've lived in the US for nearly a decade now, but I always have an exit plan."

Steve stepped into the lead again, "We'll go tomorrow. The longer we wait, the more resources Ross can bring in, they're probably already watching Tony, and Sam's sister, any other places tied to any of us won't be far behind."

"Better get a good night's sleep while we can." Shay finished, setting down her empty cup.
