An armored man stumbles backwards grasping his side in pain. He reaches for the device on his waist and pulls out a card. He holds out the shield in his other hand and pulls the handle on the side resulting in the face of Zamazenta on the shield opening its mouth, allowing him to insert the card. "Behemoth Bash." The shield glows bright red and the man runs towards his opponent ready to perform the legendary Pokémon Zamazenta's signature move...only to be smacked upside the head with a sword. The panels in front of the hand guard open to reveal a space for a card. "Behemoth Blade" the blade glows a bright blue as the woman looks towards the man, smiling a sinister smile underneath her helmet. She rushes towards the man and stabs his waist device. The device explodes and a card falls to the ground. The card glows and explodes revealing the monster inside, predictably, it's Zamazenta. "End of the line Victor. Your contract is broken." The thick Scottish voice of a female said smugly. "Any last words before I cut you down to size?" The Man, Victor's, armor started to grey and his shield disappears. "No. No no no! Please! Don't do this! After all we've been through, you can't do this!" A Voice with a British accent shouted in fear from his helmet. By this time, Victor's armor is completely greyed. It fades to reveal a young man, about in his 20s his face, pale. His eyes are wide and filled with tears. Tears well up in his dark brown eyes and he starts to sob loudly. The woman raises an eyebrow "Well? What are your final words?" Her voice has softened slightly. "I...I'll leave, alright. I promise." Victor sniffled trying not to cry. "You'll get what you deserve Victor." With that, she slits his throat and throws the bloodied body to the floor. "So...this is how it ends huh?" Victor whispers to himself. He lifts his hands to his neck and gasps at his fingers touching fresh, bloody cuts. Victor feels a tear run down his cheek. He's gonna die, no doubt. He only wished he could've stopped her, and won this "contest." Oh well, not everyone's a winner.

Max ran through the large corridor of the hospital. He has no time for any stops, nothing will stop him. You see, his girlfriend, Bonnie, is in a coma. One that she may never recover from. The many people and Pokémon around him looked in confusion and awe as he rushes through the halls.

He reached her room within seconds. His heart was beating fast and his face had tears streaming down it but he ignored all those things. He needed to be with her now, he didn't care about any of those things right now. All that mattered was Bonnie right now. Max rushed to the door. Opening it with a bang.

The doctor looked at Max with shock. She had not expected a random person to burst in so quickly or that the said person was holding Bonnie's hand tight. It shocked everyone in the room. Well almost everyone except a small part of it and a certain Pokémon, he had been watching them since they entered. Max looked towards a certain orange pokémon.

"Dedenne! Get over here." Max called out as he walked over to Bonnie, holding her hand as tightly as he could. The small Pokémon walked towards the bed, Max lifting him onto it. He looked at Bonnie's resting form solemnly. How did this happen? How does it happen? How can someone like her, a kindhearted person, end up like this?

It hurt Max to think about this happening but he couldn't get away from the fact that this was really happening. He hears the door slowly creak. "Is it ok if I come in?" a male voice meekly asks. Max sighs. "Clemont, stop asking me that. You're her brother." Max chuckles sadly. "She'd probably want you in here more than me." Clemont walks in and sits on the other side of Bonnie's bed.

Max stands next to him and puts his head in his hands, feeling tired.

They sit there for what seems like forever until a female voice interrupts them. A female voice that Max knew way too well. "How is she doing?"

Max turns around and looks at her. "Well, you know what they say May, 2 is company, but 3's a crowd." Clemont slightly glares at Max. "Lay off her, she's your sister." "You're Bonnie's brother, and I'm her boyfriend. What is May to Bonnie other than her future sister-in-law?" "Who ever said you would make it that far? Who knows, maybe you'll slip up and I'll have to kill you." "Oh, please noodle man, what could you do to me?!" "Wanna find out?!" May steps between the two. "Guys, stop it. would Bonnie want this?" Max and Clemont hung there heads in shame and sat down. Max looks out the nearby window, and tilts his head, puzzled at the sight before him. A Pokémon...Keldeo, glaring right at him through the glass. it was a faded image, but it was clear enough for Max to be sure of it, that was Keldeo. "Max, is something wrong?" "Yeah, I just saw-" but when Max turned his head back to face the window, there was nothing there. He rubs his eyes and looks again. Nothing. "I must be seeing things. I gotta go, it's getting late. See ya at home May." Max says, walking out the room, but not before pausing to plant a kiss on Bonnie's resting forehead.

Max brushes his teeth in front of the mirror. Like he does every time he goes to bed. He looks at his reflection and smiles softly at the sight of his own face. He's taller than most boys at school, standing a couple of inches over six feet tall. His hair is still the same Oxford blue that it's always been, almost black. Max reaches up and runs his fingers through it. It was so much longer than he remembered it being when they were young kids. He had to cut some of it off for college, which was a little embarrassing but he figured he would look better like this.

After brushing his teeth and getting dressed he starts to walk out of the bathroom, but before he can fully exit, he hears a weird noise. Max turns around and stumbles backward in shock. in the mirror is a boy. And it's not him.

The boy has brownish blond hair with long curls coming down from the top of his head in waves. He has big brown eyes with a smattering of freckles across the bridge of his nose. The boy is about two years older than Max with bright green eyes that are looking straight back at him. The boy tosses a device towards him and nods. "What was that?!?!" Max hears May's voice getting closer and closer, he fumbles the device before catching it and holding it behind his back. "Nothing! Nothing! Just uh...my electric toothbrush! yeah! my new electric toothbrush that I totally bought on the way home!" May sighs. "Next time, warn me when you get an electric toothbrush that loud." "No need! I might throw it away! Or maybe not! You never know!" Max said hurriedly. May for rowed her brows in suspicion. "Ok. I'll leave you to it." And she leaves. Max sighs in relief before power walking to his room. He throws the device on his bed and sits down, grasping the bride of his nose.

This can't be real. This isn't real. But it feels real. Max shakes his head in denial as he grabs the device and stares at it, turning it over and over again. How did this happen? When did this happen? What is this thing? and why are a Mythical Pokémon and a little boy staring at him through every reflective surface?!

Suddenly Max hears another sound and quickly pushes the device under his bed. A knock is heard on the door. "Max you ok, buddy? You haven't come out of your room all night." "I'm fine mom! Just having a bit of trouble sleeping is all." "Are you sure? Because I could use the company if you want..." "NO, thanks mom!! I'll be good! Just try to get some sleep okay? Goodnight!!" And with that the door closes and Max let's out a breath he didn't realize he held. He looks out the window and of course, who else but Keldeo. "Why won't you leave me alone!?" Max whisper-yells towards the Mythical Pokémon in the mirror. "You can't keep running from your problems. You'll have to face this one day or another. Just as long as you have that driver in your hands." Keldeo says pointing a hoof at the device in Max's possession. "To heck with your driver!" Max says throwing the device to the floor. But to his shock, the driver silently bounces back into Max's hands. "And to heck with this magic crap as well." Max mutters to himself.

A few days later Max sits on his bed flipping through one of the books he took from the library yesterday. 'Pokémon 101: Why they exist.' Max thinks. He glances down at the device resting in his lap. Suddenly, something catches his eye. The device that was in his possession all those days ago. "No! No! I am not touching you! stay out of my head!" He says to the driver before face palming. "Look at me, I'm talking to a weird device." Max frustratedly face plants into his pillow. "You've got a responsibility Max." "Shut up." "Stop whining on your bed like a baby." "Shut up!" "Get up and do something with your life!" "I SAID SHUT THE HECK UP!!!" Max yelled towards the apparition of Keldeo in his window. "AND I SAID GET UP!" "What're you gonna do, Huh? If you haven't noticed, you're just a reflection. you can't touch me!" Keldeo lowered his eyebrows in anger. The audacity of this brat! "You don't get to talk like that to me! Do you realize how powerful i am! HOW POWERFUL YOU ARE!" Max rolled his eyes and groaned annoyed. "Really. That really helps. Thanks for the tip" "Just get your butt up now, you brat!" "Make me! Oh yeah, you can't! Now if you'll excuse me." Max inhales, and exhales calmly. "I have to go see a girl about a coma." "You mean Bonnie?" Max pauses. "How do you-" "Word gets around Max. Zygarde's especially. There's a chance to save her Max. It's up to you if you wanna take it."

Max simply Glares at Keldeo.
