Link was exhausted. He had just finished wiping out a Bokoblin camp that was harassing a nearby village, and he was ready to return to the castle. Ever since they had defeated Calamity Ganon, him and Zelda had been working to restore Hyrule to its former glory. As Link was riding his horse, he got an alert from his Sheikah Slate. He pulled it out to find Zelda's face looking back at him.

"Link, you should get back to the castle. There's something I want to show you." Link nodded, returning the slate to its spot on his belt. Purah, one of the local scientists and an old friend of Zelda's, had not only crafted a replica Sheikah Slate for Link, since the original one belonged to Zelda, but also added several features, including one that allowed them to contact each other from anywhere.

As the sun began to set, Link left his horse in the newly built stable. Upon entering, he made his way to the library, since that's where Zelda was. She had been searching through the various books and scrolls, trying to find any useful information. She spun around as he closed the door behind him.

"Oh, Link, you're here! You need to see this." She pulled him over to a nearby desk. On the desk, there was an extremely old book. The pages were a pale yellow, and the print was barely legible. "I found this fascinating book buried towards the back of the library. It speaks of an ancient civilization that once lived in the sky. Honestly, it sounds like something out of a fairy tale. But what I really wanted to show you was this." She turned to a page titled 'The Curse of Demise'. Curious, Link decided to read.

"My hate never perishes. It is born anew in a cycle with no end! I will rise again! Those like you...Those who share the spirit of the goddess and the spirit of the hero...They are eternally bound to this curse. An incarnation of my hatred shall ever follow your kind, dooming them to wander a blood-soaked sea of darkness for all time!" Link looked to Zelda for an explanation.

"As you know, you are from a long line of 'Links'. Over thousands of years ago, the first Link was a member of the civilization that lived in the sky, which was known as 'Skyloft'. This Link fought the demon king, Demise. Upon defeating him, however, Demise cursed his and the original Zelda's entire bloodline. In other words, Demise is the one responsible for Calamity Ganon. Every Link has had to face some form of Ganon, a reincarnation of Demise. Do you understand what this means?" No, he didn't. "If we could find some way to stop Demise from uttering the curse, then maybe we can stop the Calamity before it even happens."

"Why don't we just stop the Calamity?" Link whispered. It was rare that he talked, but not unheard of.

"Why stop there? We stop one calamity when we can stop all of them?" Finally, Link nodded. "Now, the problem is how to go back. And for that, I think I know someone who can help us."

Author's note: Here it is! A Legend of Zelda fic. This was one of those ideas that I thought of right before going to bed that I just knew I had to do. Sorry it took so long, though. I had to finish Skyward Sword, which I had just gotten for Christmas, because I didn't want to get anything wrong story-wise. I hope you're as excited for this as I am. If you want to stay updated, make sure to follow so that you'll be notified when I post new chapters. Anyway, I hope you enjoy, and I'll see you next time!
