To those of you who read my other stories, Yes I realize I haven't updated them in months. So then why would I be starting another story right now? Well I had this idea and I couldn't get it out of my head. I'll try to update my other stories soon. But stick around for this one if it catches your interest, it's gonna be a trip.

"We're here we're here we're here!"

Mabel and Dipper Pines had returned to Gravity Falls for their second summer in the anomalous town. The twins were incredibly exited to meet all of the friends that they had made the summer before. Their Grunkle Stan had picked them up from the bus stop and was driving them back to Mystery Shack, their summer home and a popular tourist destination.

Dipper and Mabel looked out the window as the Shack came into view, happy to see the building that they had made so many memories in.

"How's Soos been running the place Grunkle Stan?"

"Heh, I'm really surprised with the guy! He sure learned from his time as an employee. Business is better than ever! He's even created a ton of new exhibits."

Mabel bounced in her seat, eager to get out. "I can't wait to see everyone in the Shack! Wendy and Soos are probably waiting to see us! Grunkle Ford is probably down in his lab doing all the nerdy things he likes, but he'll be up as soon as he hears we're here. And didn't Melody move here to help Soos with the Shack?"

Stan chuckled at his niece's enthusiasm. "Yup, but she'n Soos bought a house in town. Not enough room for em in the shack. Oh, by the way, I should let you two know that we've got someone else stayin here now. They didn't really have anywhere else to go, so Ford'n I offered to take em in once we got back from our little adventure."

Dipper looked a little surprised. "Huh? What's up with them?"

Stan sighed. "It's really not my place to say. I'm sure they'll fill ya in when you get inside."

Dipper and Mabel looked to each other and shrugged. If their uncles deemed the person safe to house, then they were sure they'd get along.

Stan's old car rumbled to a stop and the twins hopped out and ran inside.

"Hey everybody! We're back and ready for another awesome summer!"

Shortly after Mabel yelled out their welcome, Soos and Wendy entered the room, Melody following behind.

"Oh dudes! It's so awesome you're finally back! Video calls can only do so much! Man, I can't wait to show you what me and Melody have dome with the shack! Oh, and go on more rad paranormal adventures!"

Soos scooped the twins up and enveloped them in a bone crushing hug.

"Agh! Soos, can't... breath!"

"Oh, haha, sorry dudes! I've just been so excited to see you again!"

Melody chuckled. "He closed the shack early today just so he could stare out the window to wait for you."

Wendy walked up to the two of them and squatted down to give them both fist bumps. "Man! It feels like it's been forever since we've seen each other in person! You two are gettin tall!"

It was true. Both Mabel and Dipper had gone through growth spurts in the past year. Dipper was now actually a couple inches taller than his sister, but not enough to be noticable unless you looked.

Wendy plucked her old hat off of Dipper and gave him back his old pine tree one. "Thanks for takin care of it man! I swear I only dropped yours in the mud like twice max."

Dipper laughed at that. "All that matters is that it's in one piece. Man, feels good to have it back on my head. N-not that I didn't like wearing yours or anything! It's just that-"

Wendy laughed. "Don't worry about it dude! I kinda missed mine as well."

The twins walked into the gift shop, still talking with their old friends. The vending machine on the wall hissed, before it swung outward and a man who looked almost exactly like Stan stepped out of the doorway.

"Kids? I thought I heard you! Come here and give your great uncle a hug!"

"Grunkle Ford!" The twins ran up to their other uncle and embraced him.

"I can't wait to hear all about what you and Stan saw on your trip! I bet it was super awesome!"

Mabel butted in. "Did you see any hot mermaid chicks?"

Stanford laughed at that. "Well actually yes, we did! Stanly even managed to get one of their shellphone numbers!"

Dipper smirked. "Really? Hard to imagine Stan doing that."

"Hey I heard that ya twerp! I may be old, but I can still put on the moves when I want."

Dipper gave Stan a skeptical look.

"Heh, alright, you two should probably go set yer stuff up. Come back down once yer done, It's crappy movie marathon night!"

Mabel squeed. "Oooooh I can't wait! Making fun of awful movies is always fun!" She ran towards the stairs, grabbing her pet pig Waddles on the way."

Dipper scrambled to catch up with his sister. "Mabel, wait up!"

The twins raced up the stairs as fast as they could with all of their luggage. They opened the door to their attic bedroom, only to find someone already in there.

"O-oh! Uh, Hi? You're already here huh?"

Dipper and Mabel stared in shock for a moment before blurting out the same thing.

"PACIFICA?!"

The blond put on a smirk. "Don't sound so happy to see me."

Dipper sputtered for a moment before regaining coherent thought. "We're not upset, it's just...why are you here?"

Pacifica sighed and sat up from the bed that was set up in the middle of the room. "It's a bit of a long story. After... what happened last summer, Mom, Dad and I had to move into a small house in town. Dad was angry all the time and mom was always drunk. Over time things got worse and worse. Dad would get mad at me for doing anything he thought was wrong and usually hit me because of it. Mom was never in the right state of mind to do anything about it. Eventually it got so bad that CPS had to come. I was supposed to be placed in foster care, but your uncles decided to take me in instead.

Dad was eventually arrested when he tried to burn the shack down for what I think was supposed to be what he considered revenge? I still don't really understand what he was thinking. He's in prison somewhere out of state and I don't know where Mom is anymore."

Dipper and Mabel looked at her in shock and sorrow. "Oh My god... I'm so sorry Pacifica."

Pacifica flashed a genuine smile. "Don't worry about it. I got over it a long time ago. Besides, your uncles and the employees at the shack are really nice. I'm honestly happier here than I ever was living in Northwest Mansion. I have people that genuinely care about me for once."

Mabel got teary eyed and tackled Pacifica in a hug. "Oh, I'm sooooo happy! I can't wait for all the fun We're gonna have this summer! It sucks that your parents turned out to be such butt faces, but now you have us!"

Pacifica grunted in a mix of annoyance and amusement. "Come on Mabel, get off! I just made my bed!"

Pacifica eventually managed to get the excitable bundle of joy off of her and turned to the other twin.

Dipper gave an awkward chuckle. "So... I guess we're sharing a room then."

The blond scoffed. "Don't make it out to be weirder than it is. You shared it with Mabel last year, so it's fine."

"Yeah, but-"

Pacifica grabbed Dipper's suitcase from his hand and tossed it over to the left side of the room. "Just set up your bed dork."

Dipper blushed in embarrassment and went over to unpack.

The twins began to reassemble their sides of the room. Mabel chatted away with Pacifica about how much fun they were going to have. Pacifica noticed Waddles trot into the room and widened her eyes for a moment before remembering that he was Mabel's pet.

Eventually Dipper had regained enough calm to speak again. "So, uh, Pacifica. How do you get along with our uncles?"

"Well, Stan can be your stereotypical grumpy old man sometimes, but he's actually pretty fun to hang out with for an old geezer. His brother seems like a shut-in nerd, but he's actually really cool. He researches all sorts of crazy supernatural stuff as I'm sure you know. I've actually helped him with his research a bit."

Dipper's eyes widened. "Wait, really? You're interested in paranormal science?"

Pacifica rolled her eyes. "Don't get too excited. Sure, I find it cool, but I'm not obsessed with it like you or your uncle."

Mabel gasped. "Does this mean you'll want to come with us when we go looking for monsters and creepy old labs in the woods?"

"Sure, as long as it doesn't involve too much mud."

Upon seeing the stares the twins were giving her, Pacifica got defensive. "What? I may not be rich anymore, but I still have standards!"

The first week of summer in the falls passed by full of events. The twins had gone out and adventured with their friends in the woods and gotten into their usual supernatural trouble. Then again, it wouldn't be a week in Gravity Falls without a near death experience now would it? Over the week Dipper and Mabel got to realize just how much Pacifica had changed. She still kept her usual snark and sarcastic demeaner, but she was a lot less uptight about most situations and was more inclined to indulge in whatever random escapade was going on around her.

Pacifica had also formed a friendship with Wendy, often getting into playful arguments with her. The twins themselves had started to bond with the blond more than ever. They found that most of their interests were similar. She had adopted Mabel's love for scrapbooking, and Dipper's interest in science. It had only been a week, and the twins were already starting to view her as more of a sister than anything. She even addressed Stan and Ford as 'Great uncle' on occasion. When asked about it, she said:

"As if I'll call them 'Grunkle' like you two wierdos do."

And so the week went. It was currently Saturday, and Pacifica and the twins were down in the lab listening to Ford's newest investigation.

"It's simply fascinating! I've been monitoring this same acre of land for the past month or so, and every other day, a ripple or crack in the air will appear."

Mabel looked at the data and videos of the phenomenon and stuck her tongue out in thought. "You think it's another one of those wormhole thingys? Y'know, the one that sent me to that world full of alternate mes?"

Pacifica looked over to Mabel. "Huh? You never told me about THAT."

Ford hummed. "Good guess Mabel, but the energy from these feels more controlled. Stabilized even. If it is a wormhole, then it's a different type."

Dipper looked up from one of the recorded videos of one of the cracks. "So you want us to go and investigate whatever this thing is."

"Precisely. I've never managed to see one in person, but I've collected enough data to know that one of them usually appears at this location in around three hours."

Ford handed the trio a map of the area, with the location circled with a red sharpie.

"Awesome! But, uh, what if some sort of interdimensional alien comes out of it and tries to attack us or something?"

Ford put a hand to his chin. "Hm, yes, you'll need to defend yourselves."

He opened a nearby weapon locker and pulled out a harpoon gun. "Use this if there's trouble."

Mabel grabbed the deadly weapon with excitement, pointing it in Dipper's direction and making him flinch. "Awesome! Thanks Grunkle Ford, we're going now!"

Ford was already back to his research and barely heard his niece. "Yes yes, be safe and all that."

The three kids followed the map into the woods.

"Come on Mabel, you got to use the weapon last time!"

"Yeah, but the last time you had it, you shot a Manotaur in the leg!"

"Oh, come on! He was totally fine! He was even grateful, said it would give him a 'super manly scar'."

Dipper rolled his eyes at the bickering girls behind him. "Can you two be quiet? I'm trying to make sure we're going the right way."

Remembering the last time they had gotten lost in the woods, Mabel and Pacifica wisely shut up.

"Right... We should be in the right spot. Now all we do is wait."

The three of them sat down in a clearing and unpacked a snack.

"Alright, trail mix or energy bar. Take your pick."

As the three were eating, a strong gust of wind put them on alert.

"What was that?"

"Look! In the middle of the clearing!"

Right in front of them, there was a small ripple in the air that was quickly getting bigger.

"Alright, Grunkle Ford wants us to investigate this thing to see what we can find out. But we've got to be careful."

Pacifica inched up to the ripple and slowly stuck her hand out. Just as she was about to make contact with it, another gust of wind blew her back and a crack appeared.

"Hey, this is one of the cracks! Let's see if we can look into it."

Mabel walked up to the anomaly and stuck her eye up to it. "Huh... All I see is white. I guess that's a dud...whoah what?!"

Mabel stumbled back as the crack slowly grew in size. Dipper had pulled out a notebook and was writing down their findings. "None of Ford's videos showed the cracks getting bigger! Maybe it's because we're near it?"

The crack grew larger and larger, until there was a flash of light and it spread open, revealing a giant hole in the air. It was a light blue, with a white grid pattern layered over it.

"Whoa! Dipper look! It looks like that graph paper from your nerdy homework game!"

Dipper groaned. "Mabel, it's called Dungeons, Dungeons and more Dungeons. There was that whole thing with Probabilitor too! How do you not remember the name?"

Pacifica looked at Dipper with a slight blush. "W-wait, you play that game t-agh!"

Pacifica was suddenly pulled forward towards the wormhole. "Pacifica!"

"I-it's sucking me in! Help!"

Mabel grabbed the harpoon gun. "Hey you dumb space portal! Stop sucking my friend up! Hah!"

Mabel shot the harpoon at the wormhole, but predictably, the weapon just got sucked inside.

"Mabel! How was that supposed to help?"

"Aheh... now that you mention it... yikes!"

Mabel was suddenly pulled forward as well, followed by Dipper.

"W-we got to do something, or we'll be dragged in!"

Thinking quickly, Dipper grabbed a coil of rope from his bag and threw it towards a tree. It wrapped around a branch.

Quick, grab on, we'll pull ourselves away!"

Mabel and Pacifica grabbed onto the rope as well and began to pull themselves away from the suction.

"Alright, we're almost there! Just a little more..."

Suddenly a loud SNAP was heard, and the branch that the rope was wrapped around broke off. "NO!"

With nothing to stop the pull of the wormhole, the three kids were rapidly dragged towards it.

"Oh crap oh crap oh crap!"

"Brace yourselves! We don't know what's on the other side!"

The three held onto each other tightly. before they were dragged inside the wormhole. Shortly after they disappeared, the wormhole wavered and snapped shut. A couple of minutes later, a gnome came into the clearing. Seeing the bags of trail mix, it quickly stuffed them into its overall pocket and scurried off.
