And a bit of context:

This is a fanfic made to retell the events of the Naruto anime and manga, going headfirst onto the moment that changed everything, then onto the rest of the world to set the tone, politics, and background lore, trying to fix some of the holes left by Kishimoto.

The first 9 chapters are going to be just that, context, stories to entertain those Lore-loving persons like me, the 10th will be focused around Naruto's birth, and from then on Naruto and the people around him will be the focus, if you want, you can skip to chapter 10 when it is out for when he is born, and later for when he begins to grow, for now, this is what I offer you.

For now, it is time to set things up and explain how the future could be better, just by a small deviation.

.

Also, I moved the disclaimers down in the bottom, if you wanna read 'em.

The map here is based in great part on the one made by Euraniel on Deviantart, so if you want to see where some things happen. Use it. :D

Also, please, if you have something to say, leave it on the reviews on or a PM, and if you are interested in this story, follow it or add it to favourites, that way I'll know that there are people interested in me writing more; it gets pretty lonely.

So... That. :D

Six months after Kaguya's sealing.

Land of Ancestors.

10.000 years before the foundation of Konoha.

A man covered in white robes stood next to a toad.

Both were looking at a barren wasteland, a view covered by rocky hills and craters product of the devastation of what had happened recently, something for which the man had just recently recovered from, days after saying goodbye to his brother who began his journey to the moon.

He was Hagoromo, his name remaining like that for now.

Next to him was Gamamaru, the prince of the Toad clan of Mount Myoboku, and he was talking with the person that had just erased the biggest threat to life on this world.

They seemed neutral, their conversation engulfing their emotional answers as they spoke for the last time before Hagoromo began his journey.

"It might be the right thing to do, but the path will be harsh." - The orange toad spoke, eyeing the soon to be Sage of Six Paths.

"I know." - He replied with a dry tone.

Gamamaru sighed and closed his eyes before again opening them and turning to face the one he had instructed on the Sage arts.

"In truth, I had a dream." - The toad began.

"A dream?" - Gama nodded at the question.

"I don't dream often, but when I do, they become reality." - After that, his eyes relaxed, as he prepared himself for maybe a not-so-warm reply. - "My dreams are like the destiny."

But his companion wasn't someone who used too much humor, so he just tried to know about what the toad had to say.

"What did you dream?"

Gamamaru got a little closer to Hagoromo and kept his expression fixed on him.

"In a distant future, a blue-eyed kid will appear, he will call the Kyuubi by his name and will play with him," - Hagoromo lifted his eyebrows, but kept silent, trying to understand and to concile the ideas the toad gave with his own vision of the future. - "I dreamt that the kid could do miracles."

"Do you mean the bad times will again come?"

"I don't know" - The toad replied, getting doubt on the head of Hagoromo who found this to be contradictory to the statement of his dreams being prophetic.

"Everything that I will do will be in vain?" - A preoccupied man asked.

"Do not worry, destiny cannot be evaded even if we try."

Gamamaru then jumped towards the shore of a small pond created by the fight that happened those months ago.

Hagoromo though was unsettled, and quickly

Click.

An idea flourished inside of him.

'Destiny, what a wonderful yet horrible concept.'

And then he replied to Gamamaru.- "I think you are wrong." - Those words were enough to make the toad stop and look with a degree of surprise to the man. - "You just had a dream."

"Huh?" - The Sage toad replied, getting closer to Hagoromo. - "Why is that? Don't you believe me?"

"I do believe you had your dream, but for one example, you never mentioned the defeat of Kaguya by me being prophecized, you trained me for that just because you saw it as the best way to act for the good of the world." - He explained himself, looking at the area around him. - "Destiny is just the summary of our actions, that boy might come, but I am sure that my actions and those of my descendants will be enough as to change the world and make it not need a messiah."

A good enough speech that made the froggy smile and immediately frowns.

"You know I don't like being contradicted, Hagoromo." - He said before croaking. - "But you have a point."

Then he just jumped towards the pond.

"Where are you going'" - Asked Hagoromo.

"Well, I've said enough, and the snakes from Riuuchi cave have begun their assault on my lands, not even the monkeys are going to help us this time so I gotta go and help them."

The Sage was about to speak to his mentor but was stopped by one of his hands pointing towards where he was going to begin his journey at.

"Do not worry, this is a matter of animals, if the snakes see you helping us they might curse the entirety of humanity and kill those at the entrance of their cave. You are better off attacking the demons that isolated continent."

With that explanation, the toad just jumped to the pond and said "Bye-bye!" before disappearing, leaving the man all alone, looking at how his friend had just left him with his thoughts.

'I will visit the Riuchi cave in the future then, peace is a must. And as an immortal, I have all the time to worry about getting the world right before settling down. I need to make this a good place.'

Then the Sage of Six paths began walking, he had job to do.

On his journeys, Hagoromo preached Ninshu, right manners, literacy, and some of the ways of science to those who were open to his message; who in turn began teaching it to even more people, slowly spreading the arts of flourishing food with the control fo the land and water, starting fires to prepare things and to fight vermin with fire, using air to cut and to travel, and lightning to experiment, illuminate houses and formulate clouds to change the climate.

Sometimes he arrived like a beacon of hope, as he wanted.

But his abilities served to deal with menaces mortals couldn't deal with just yet. Menaces that a world like this was bound to have according to their myths.

Demons, ogres, monsters of all varieties sieging various human settlements, with one especially harsh to deal with on the continent Gamamaru said, but diminished enough eventually so that Hagoromo could visit other places.

Or human kingdoms of those who managed to coerce the followers of ninshu to use the teachings for warfare.

Until he noticed how most of these people actually acted voluntarily to act upon other humans, using their gift to attack other people, abusing to secure their future and that of their descendants, just as animals did, but this time, with power enough to make irreversible damage.

From the small continent far away on the Coeolic Ocean to the Tea peninsula were always people that got a special power, a technique, and used them to do wrong.

He always was quick enough to deal with them and stop the menace, but he felt that it was inevitable, as human nature was trying to be the best using strength over hard work, to intimidate their peers, and was as natural as eating.

And he could not change human nature, at least not now, so he had to think about a way to deal with it.

"Wahhh!" - A scream interrupted the thoughts of the man.

He quickly flashed to the room where a woman was already taking care of the origin of the scream.

A baby.

"Indra kicked his cradle too hard." - A short, delicate and yellowish-skinned lady caressed the faint hair of the small creature who soon stopped his crying after being pampered by his progenitor.

The Sage was a father now, with a second son on the way, he had finished his journey through the entire world, and had settled as the governor of the Land of People (Later known as Land of Ancestors) and began experiencing the ways of government to, in the future, teach it to the people as his last gift to humanity because after both of his children grew up, he would finally release the nine tailed-beasts and become mortal, living for maybe a comfortable century until he finally left earth.

But at this moment, he had to get some fruits, for his son needed to eat something else than just the milk from her mother.

Hopefully, this kid would grow to be his good successor.

He was right.

Indra managed to propel civilizations years forward.

But he wanted to be in control of everything.

His brother, Ashura, learned with others, gave ideas, tried to be someone not to command them, but to guide them, he covered his weaknesses with other people, working in tandem or learning from them. Both had good ways to do things as they were skilled enough to make it work.

Yet Ashura shared his chakra with hundreds of people, who followed him, allowing them to be reached by Hagoromo himself on the ways of Ninshu and creating the very first clan on the south of the Elemental Continent to follow ninshu, the Senju they called themselves after learning so much. Something which Hagoromo smiled at, thinking it solved a problem which he had thought about before by just sharing with more people than the closest people Hagoromo had.

But how did the brothers answer to this?

Indra kidnapped people, twisted them, converted them into shallow copies of himself, called them the Uchiha, like they were called before being tainted with Indra's machinations, and then struck against his brother, hoping to use his clan as slaves, for he wanted to amass power, to control the world, to make it better, and to punish the one which 'had stolen his dreams'.

So they fought.

"You were always jealous of me! You are a disgrace, Ashura!" - Screamed a red-eyed man who lashed his right hand towards the forehead of a brown-haired youngster, he struck with lightning, slicing the skin and some of the face of this brother. - "You always wanted my sharingan and my abilities!" - But he was answered by a fist filled of natural energy ramming his abdomen, propelling him far away.

"By the contrary," - Ashura began. - "You grew jealous that I settled first than you. That I always had more friends." - Indra jumped towards his brother, this time his fists roaring with fire, but the second-born of Hagoromo dashed to evade.- "That I didn't see myself as a Messiah like you do."

It had been hours of constant bashing.

The land around them had already deformed, rivers began to flow the area and kilometers from where they stood, as their chakra brawled too for control of the land.

Ashura had lost his avatar, Indra his Susanoo.

Both of their clan had already begun fighting but retreated after the collateral damage of the fight of the two proved to be devastating, but the crow still remained, or at least, the people of the Capital of the land of People and the survivors from the Senju were watching Ashura who now saw Indra again getting his purple chakra-armor out.

"The strong rule, and the weak, are to follow!"

"And what would you be, without those eyes!"

He needed help.

Swing.

A sword made from chakra cut the ground and narrowly avoided the younger brother's feet as he jumped and then called chakra to mold a small hill to stand on.

"Fight me, prove your wits!" - Indra shouted as the sword turned into an arrow which sent an arrow with enough power to blow where his enemy rested, sending him flying towards the night sky.

"I will!" - And thus, Hagoromo decided to do something as his kid prepared himself to punch his brother with an exceptional concentration of chakra which would probably be countered, as the Sharingan user was already preparing a counter which if Ashura didn't have as much energy as he needed, would end up killing him.

Hagoromo mentally pleaded to the people around him to send focus their energy on him, so he could in turn send it to Asura.

Many did, some were too weak to even lift themselves and try, but it was enough, and with the help of some of the energy of the Sage of Six Paths, when Indra prepared another arrow to send towards his brother, the Avatar again appeared and managed to take the damage as the younger brother slipped through the defenses of the older sibling, impacting his head and crushing his body to the point that he flared his chakra to disappear in a flash of lightning in just a second.

His son had won, with help of others, and he had something click on his head again, just as it had done years ago.

The people ran towards Ashura, who laid on the ground, victorious yet exhausted.

Just as the sun rose on the horizon.

Then years passed, the Senju expanded and eventually drove off the Uchiha to the Land of Scorch (future land of Fire). Ashura cracked the secrets of Ninshu his brother had developed after arduous investigation, getting a hold of abilities he didn't know he had like manipulate every single element at once, creating black spheres of pure chakra which he could mold also with the Creation of All Things he'd learned from his father; or transfer those abilities to everyone.

The Hyuuga appeared, sent by the Moon people to guard a shrine that held a faint portion of the Juubi.

Even if the Land of People managed to expand, getting more and more people under its reign, in a prosperous life, Hagoromo had to step down due to his age.

And when Asura rose to power, other nations immediately used their Ninshu users to fight. The Land of Scorch invaded the eastern part of the country and people with special abilities began to be hunted.

War had raged on, this time with people with abilities that compared itself to the famed Sage, poorly trained users went of with single abilities, much to the dismay of the levies of many smaller communities that perished at their presence.

Ashura managed to quell most of the suffering, but he could not reach the other parts of the continent, nor could he drive himself to sacrifice people in a real army to fight the evilness of the world.

The Bijuus saw themselves on the crossfire. The Uchiha got a hold on the Kyuubi and rampaged the northern land so the Senju themselves decided to once again go and hunt them, getting help from the Hyuuga who saw their shrine destroyed by the Sharingan users.

This all left Ashura alone with his closest family only and his tenants as Hagoromo was on his last breaths.

The Sage would use his final days to teach his son and close relatives about how to control things with chakra, how to seal, using the principles he had learned with his Rinnegan.

He also taught about the many summon realms, other dimensions, the enemies that awaited the entire earth, the people on the moon, and how his eyes and the Uchiha's worked.

In the end, Asura gained as much knowledge as his father and went on a journey with his family to discover a better way to explore chakra and to once again, spread Ninshu like his father had, leaving a new Emperor on the Land of People, and Hagoromo to rest before finally dying.

"I know you are here, Indra." - Said a man covered on sheets, with his eyes closed and white clothes on, someone who was three steps away from again becoming one with the earth.

"How perceptive, father." - Replied a mature man, whose red Sharingan eyes flared at the same time as those of the man on the bed's did. - "How are you?"

"I was waiting." - Hagoromo said, smiling as he opened his Rinne Sharingan, getting a hold on three other chakra signatures similar to those of Indra, the Uchiha.

"For me? Thank you." - The son mocked. - "So, what are you going to tell me before I take your eyes out?"

A laugh came from the man, who this time, instead of talking with his son, decided to stand up, his eyes with yellowish hue around them and horizontal retina, he was son Sage mode just to have the strength to be on his feet.

"Are you going to fight me?" - Indra asked, getting his Mangekyo out, prepared to cast illusions to fool his weak father. - "I'd prefer not, I still hold some dear to you."

"Don't worry, it is just to.."

Now they were both in a white room.

"To welcome you to the Tsukuyomi."

"What is this!?" - Asked a perplexed Indra.

"This is a space I created from my mother's abilities and my eyes. I reign here."

"And what are you going to do in this... Imaginary place! Are you trying to destroy my mind!?" - Indra demanded, pointing to the Sage.

"No, nothing like that," - He just waved it off, closing his eyes. - "It is to tell you something, dear son."

The man just stood silent, angry, waiting for more information.

"Our eyes, your and my genes will be shared with the world, in your future life, when you reincarnate you will see, I will fix this world, I will give my chakra to everybody, I won't interfere to control both of you, so I will live, on the abilities and specialties of every single person, as everybody will have access to chakra, the things you think are special, won't be so much, for if everyone is special, no one will, and the differences that exist will be ironed to get a much better humanity on the future."

For some seconds Indra seemed to get a bit calmer, but eventually smiled and laughed just like his father had done to him, just that he exaggerated to the point of spanking his legs just to show mockery to the Sage.

"Soo... Heh... Soo!"

"Hmm."

"You really are going to give sharingans to everyone!? HAAAAHAHA... Oh lord. Oh, really?"

"No, but I will twist things enough to fool what some call destiny, Your descendants will have to fight a much bigger pool of contestants, the future you and your little black zetsu friend want, will never come." - After saying this, the man opened his eyes with fear, as Hagoromo knew of the dealings he had with the creature. - "A shame I will never see what will truly occur."

Soon, Hagoromo disappeared just like that, the room again got its dim colors and Indra was in the real world, seeing how Hagoromo's eyes were lifeless, with no focus, just, pointing upwards.

No one said a word since those near the Uchiha clan leader had no idea of how to react.

And a tear came from him.

"Let's go." - He said, just walking off the building, never to be seen again on the Land of People, which soon, got ravaged by war.

Ten years after that, the Warring States Period started.

Fifty years after that, Indra died.

A hundred years after that, Asura died.

A thousand years after the death of Hagoromo, multiple people began to change, civilizations, especially away from the Elemental continent, began to flourish.

Ten thousand years later, the Village hidden on the leaf was born.

Helooo, first, I don't own naruto.

Now, this chapter is an introduction to the tone of the story.

This is not a story focused on one OC, rather a change of the ways of the Narutoverse into a more """""down to earth""""" version of itself, if you expect Naruto to be the protagonist, don't worry, but we need to set things first, once that has been done, you'll see the misadventures of the Jinchuriki of the nine tails.

Yes, power levels will be changed, but power relations between characters will not, even then, the gap won't be as big as they were on the original story, as they don't make good opportunities storytelling-wise, the same will happen with kekkei genkais and special abilities, they will be more widespread, something you'd expect with things as blood mixes.

This will be focused more on the world on naruto though, if you want something to be expanded upon, just tell me and I will try my best to give an in-depth view to it!

And yah, I'm supposed to be writing something for Halo, but this will be a good writing experiment. So don't worry, it will eventually come back!

And Imma move the disclaimers here

Disclaimer 1: Any pairing for this story that five people tell me to do on the reviews; I'll follow it, I'm way too indecisive for that. You want a NarutoxFem!Sasuke? I'll do it, just get four other people to say it. Want ShikaxSakura or something like that? You are the reader, you command me.
