Chapter 1 Planning and off she goes
AN: So, it's been over ten years since I first posted this story…. That seems unbelievable. I was sixteen when I started writing these stories and today is my 28th birthday, I don't remember the person I was when I started to create this interpretation of the characters. So, I don't know if anyone even cares, but I am determined to finish this. I have done some minor edits of things that have bothered me, but the stories are basically the same. A lot has changed since I last post these stories, but I want to make something clear. I am a Lesbian, JK Rowling is a TERF so I feel no shame in using her books in this way. I fully support my trans siblings and do not support her view.
I really hope I can finally finish these stories and continue with the changing the future stories I have had planned for so long.
I will be posting the first ten chapters tonight and then posting a chapter every time I get a one chapter of this, and one chapter of Discovering, done.
It has been two months since the battle of Hogwarts. Harry is living at Grimmauld place with Hermione who hasn't gone to fix her parent's memories yet. Ron and Ginny visit Harry and Hermione daily. Harry and Ginny are together and appear happy. Ron and Hermione tried to become a couple but realized they were better as friends.
It's a warn summers day and Hermione, Harry, Ron and Ginny are sitting in the kitchen as Kreacher cooks them lunch when a barn owl flies in. Seeing the bird Hermione gets up, walks over to the owl, and collects the letter.
"Who is it addressed to Hermione?" asks Harry interested.
"You, Ron and me," Hermione replies.
"Well read it out loud," Ron tells her.
Dear Harry, Ron and Hermione,
I have something important to discuss with you. Can you come to Hogwarts as soon as possible? Just floo to the headmistress office when you can.

"I wonder what that's about?" Ron asks, confused as to why McGonagall will want to see them.
"Well, there is only one way to find out," Hermione tells him, interested to see what she wants.
"Do you want to go now?" Harry asks.
"We might as well; we have nothing else to do," Hermione says shrugging.
"Well, I have to go anyway, I said I help George at the shop today," Ginny says getting up and kissing Harry goodbye, causing Ron to look away, before leaving.
"Bye Ginny," Harry, Ron and Hermione say as she leaves the kitchen.
"Kreacher, we have to go to Hogwarts, I don't know how long we will be," Harry tells Kreacher.
"Yes, Master Harry," Kreacher says, bowing
"You don't have to call me master or Bow," Harry tells him.
One by one Harry, Ron and Hermione go to the fire place, grab some floo powder and shout "Hogwarts headmistress office."
Once they arrive at Hogwarts they see, not only Professor McGonagall, but Minister for Magic Kingsley Shacklebolt.
"Harry, Ron, Hermione. Please take a seat," McGonagall tells them once they have all arrived, and the three of them sit down on the chairs that are across from her desk.
"Professor why are we here?" Harry asks, confused as to the reason, as he can't think of why she would need to see them.
"Well Harry, Kingsley found a spell that will send someone back in time, to a certain year, to give certain people information," Professor McGonagall informs them.
"When you gave me the time turner in third year, didn't you tell me that awful things happen to wizards that mess with time?" Asks Hermione, sounding shocked.
"That is normally true Hermione, but with this spell we can give knowledge to the past to end the war. We may not be able to save everyone who dies, but we may be able to reduce how many families are torn apart." Kingsley says, looking sad about all the family's that have been torn apart, but hopeful that they may be able to change that.
"How will we do it?" Hermione asks.
"What do we need to do?" Ron asks.
"When do we leave?" Harry asks.
"Ah, that's the problem only one person can go. What happens is we use a different spell to collect the knowledge, in this case we think the knowledge should be taken from Harry, about his six years at Hogwarts and what happened during the time you spent on the Horcruxes hunt, and when whichever one of you are going is up to you," McGonagall answers.
"What happens once we give them the knowledge?" Asks Hermione, ignoring the fact that only one of them can go for the moment, as she wants all the information first.
"The people from the past can choose whether they want to follow the original timeline, otherwise known as this one, or start a new one with the changes. If they choose to keep with the original time line, the person who goes says the spell to come back and the knowledge they have received will be erased from the members from the past's memories. But, if they choose to keep the knowledge the spell to come back will magically disappear, and the person will stay in that timeline to help. So the decision to go shouldn't be taken lightly, as you leave with the possibility of never coming back." Kingsley answers.
"I think it should be me who goes back," Hermione says quietly.
"WHAT!" yell Harry and Ron, both sounding shocked.
"Look guys, think about it, Ron your Family needs you. Fred just died they can't lose you too, and Harry, Teddy needs you so does Ginny. If I go I can give the information logically, and answer any questions that you two might not know the answers to. I haven't gone to fix my parents memories yet so they will be happy and even though I will miss you two so much. I have to do this, I'm the only one of us who can." Hermione says, stubbornly.
"Are you absolutely positive you want to do this Hermione?" ask Harry, though he knows that once Hermione decides something there is no changing her mind.
"Yes I'm sure, think about it, Harry. If I succeed you will get to grow up with your family." Hermione replies with determination in her voice.
"Okay then," Harry replies sadly. He really doesn't like that he may never see her again, he doesn't even want to picture it, but he also knows her well enough to be able to tell that this is something she must do.
"Ron?" Hermione asks, nervously.
"Even though I don't want you to go, I know you have to so … okay," replies Ron with a sigh.
"The first thing we have to do is figure out where you are travelling to Hermione, who you will share the knowledge with and when to leave here," McGonagall informs them, clearly moving to planning mode.
"Well, I think you know more about the past than us. So, you can choose when a good time for us to travel to is. As to when I leave, I think Harry's birthday, as that gives me enough time to organize everything. We should also come up with the list together," Hermione answers, feeling that Harry and Ron should be apart of the planning even if she is the one going.

Harry, Ron, the Weasley's, McGonagall, Neville, Luna, Andromeda, Teddy, and Kingsley are all there to say goodbye to Hermione.
"So I'm going to travel to January of 1978, the first week back after winter vacation. I have the books in my bag, as well as the letter to Dumbledore from you professor. So just to check it's going to be.

Minerva McGonagall, who read with me"
"Yes that's right, but can you do something for me Hermione? I have written letter for everyone for when you finish the books, also one for Sirius for before you begin the third, can you give them out for me?" Harry asks, as he hands her twelve letters.
"Of course I will," Hermione replies, knowing that his parents deserve to at least have something from their son if they are unable to meet him, unable to see him.
"Be careful Hermione," Ron tells her as he hugs her goodbye.
"I always am. You know as well as I do that when your friends with Harry, you know how to be careful." Hermione jokes.
"Hey! Good luck Hermione, I'll miss you so much." Harry says, and then hugs her goodbye.
"I love you, big sister." He whispers as he hugs her.
"Love you too little brother," She responds, holding the hug for a little while longer, as she really doesn't want to let go.
Finally, after Harry and Hermione eventually break apart everyone else says their goodbye to the time traveller.
"Look after my boys for me Ginny," Hermione says when she hugs Ginny goodbye.
"Of course I will Mione," Ginny says, knowing that that someone has to.
After breaking apart from Ginny Hermione grabs her bag and walks several steps away from the others. Once she is far enough away Hermione closes her eyes and recites the spell that she has memorised. As soon as she finishes reciting it there is a flash of life and Hermione Granger disappears from 1998.
