A/N: This review episode takes place after a timeskip from late November 2020 to April 2022 after the events of the story's second season. What's else is that a few chapters from RWBY's subsidary story in The Critique Universe, RWBY's Nostalgia Commercial Commentaries, take place during the duration of the timeskip (likely during 2021). RWBY will have their Volume 7 hairstyles and/or Atlas apparel designs from this point forward since RWBY had used their classic Volume 1-3 designs in the first two seasons and the Season 3 premiere of this story. I'm not going back on the promise that more RWBY characters will join the story, since Ozpin made an appearance in the story's Season 2 finale and that another character will make her debut in the story. As always, enjoy.

P.S.: The COVID pandemic in real life may impact some changes during and after the timeskip.

In this fifty-second review episode, time had passed since Team RWBY's social event that took place in November 2020 that led to a life-changing journey to save their worlds. One day in April 2022, Team RWBY then decide to take a look at a Nickelodeon movie based on The Loud House, with the eventual prospects that the movie might not be so bad at all.

BEACON ACADEMY
APRIL 11, 2022
8:30 AM

It was break week over at the Academy.

Over the past year and almost a half, team RWBY had been spending time going about their training and studies outside of their occassional reviews while stabilizing their own time management, and at some point finally gaining the official status of becoming huntresses by the time they have graduated not so long ago. They decided to become alumni along with their friends including Pyrrha, Nora and Penny, also keeping their old dorm in the process. They also used a quarter portion of their Starscraper paycheck money of $3,000,000 with $750,000 to get their own cabin for their summer holidays and weekends in honor of their heroics of being huntresses, and also spent $250,000 on a few new consoles (like XBOX, Playstation and Nintendo), a new 4K TV, some more movies on 4K, Blu-Ray and DVD, and a few other things for their lifestyle like beauty and health, leaving $2,000,000 to save.

After another long day, team RWBY entered their dorm room once again.

This time, Ruby, Yang, Blake and Weiss' original and traditional huntress outfits have changed long after the social event in November 2020, and since the previous year, the four members of team RWBY had a wardrobe change.

Ruby now wore a new outfit, comprised of a black red lined lace-up corset with four buckles hanging loose over a mesh sleeveless top over a white low cut long-sleeved blouse, as well as a black choker around her neck, a red pleated skirt that is split at the side with a small brown belted strap across the gap, and bright red shorts under it. She also wore black bracers with large brown buckled straps around the wrist as well as black fingerless gloves, and now has a brown belt with several bullets around her waist with a buckle of her emblem on it alongside a pouch on the right side with a Zwei based emblem, whilst also wearing black thigh-high steel-toe boots with red soles and heels, a single buckled strap, rear seam and a large brown buckled strap with attached pouches near the top over a pair of brown mesh tights. Her hairstyle was now spikier and choppier with her bangs swept to the side.

Yang wore an entirely new outfit primarily consisting of khaki overalls, the gold zipper of which is unzipped just below the breast to reveal a white low-cut cropped tube top; around the thighs of the overalls is a gold zipper and buckled strap that allows for the pants leg to be detached, while the right leg is unzipped but still strapped to the overalls but the lower part is partially folded over. On top of the coveralls, she wore a dark-brown baggy crop aviator styled jacket with fur trim around the neck and black-and-orange straps along the sleeves, while around her waist was a black-and-orange belt with black-and-yellow folded fabric on the sides that ran behind her with a pouch attached to it and a golden buckle of her emblem, along with dark-brown knee-high boots with black laces and top trim. For accessories, she has resumed wearing her orange scarf around her neck and her purple scarf around her right leg, like she did with her original outfit, also wearing a black/brown strap with golden trim and a pouch wrapped around her left thigh, wearing yellow and black socks with her emblem on, as well as slick orange sunglasses. Her hairstyle remained the same, albeit getting a small haircut when it was growing out beneath the waistline.

Blake's new attire was a purple sleeveless catsuit with attached boots that had light purple soles and trim, a high neck with a single short silver zipper alongside matching zippers that run from her thighs to her ankles on the front of the legs, and a pair of kneepads that matches the color to her catsuit with silver studs on them attached to the knees of the catsuit. Her long white tailcoat has desaturated purple detailing on the chest, sleeves, sides and collar alongside a dark purple detailing on the back, has a narrow belt around the collar and a wide white belt that was loosely secured around her waist through the coat's belt loops and also had two pouches attached to the back. The coattails end in a point and the inside lining is colored a vivid purple, while the front zipper of the coat is upside down and extends to the very bottom of the coat, and there are additional zippers along the lower half of the sleeves with a single purple line running between the zipper and her shoulders, while around each wrist is a dark purple belted wristband and a desaturated purple magnetic backpack on her back. A long while back (or rather after the events of the story's second season), she had cut her long wavy black hair down to a shoulder-length bob.

And Weiss' new apparel lastly consisted of a pale blue sleeveless dress with deep red lining, bow detail fixture, and two diamond-shaped pieces hanging from the corners of the hem over a white diagonal hemmed strapless dress, above which she wore a vivid blue shrug with a raised collar, puffy sleeves and the Schnee emblem on the left sleeve that is fastened by a blue-silver outlined strap, and on her arms are a pair of long navy blue gloves with silver top trim surrounding a red gem at the top. Over her dress, she wore a light-blue corset-styled belt, while around her waist are three white belts with a medium-sized pouch attached to the lowest belt and another pouch attached to the middle belt while the lowest belt crosses over the middle belt; she lastly wore long pale blue wedge-heel boots with white frill detailing at the top at the front, alongside grayish blue coloring on the toes and navy blue wedged heels, wearing a pair of ruby earrings that matched her icicle-shaped tiara with a diamond-shaped ruby in the center, which may make her look like a beautiful princess, even in Blake's case. Her hair was now braided, and she has grown out her bangs and styled them to frame her face more closely.

"What a day...", Ruby told before the four sat down on their beds, which were now made into bunk beds without the use of books or harnesses to carry the other beds up with, since it was one of the things team RWBY used with their Starscraper revenue money, "A lot of things have changed ever since we've graduated and became alumni, even after that social event. We may now be immortal, but...many times have happened that were sad for all of us over the past year... Several legendary classic celebrities died... There's a console shortage although we managed to get ours... Avatar beat Endgame in the box office again due to a re-release by grossing over $50,000,000 more than Endgame... Some movies have been delayed or moved to streaming... The second season of gen:LOCK was a lot to take in... Eternals was an underwhelmer... It's been rough lately... And there wasn't even any pandemic going on!"

Yang said, "You know, it's been a while since we often reviewed movies due to our hard work and times studying. Managed to keep our grades up that fortunately got us graduated this year. I mean, Beacon is a great place around here. Not only does it build great memories, it also has its friends and people. I'm also happy that our guest back on the social event we had, Brian Hull, recently voiced Dracula in the new Hotel Transylvania: Transformania movie.", before cutting to the chase, "What do you guys think we should review next?"

"Well, we did our fair share of commercials and Top 11 lists, so let's try to look for something on Netflix.", decided Ruby as she turned on the TV.

Blake suggests, "I think another good movie should do. The last bad movie we reviewed months ago was the awful 1997 Spawn movie when we met with Salem the day after that outrageous adventure and how we've gotten our paychecks by our gaming friends."

"Plus, we haven't done a Netflix movie review before. Maybe not Bird Box, maybe not Bright, maybe not Project Power, not Velvet Buzzsaw, and definitely not one of the Happy Madison Netflix movies.", Weiss advised, "Maybe something good will do."

Ruby supposes, "Like what good movie? Mank? The Power of the Dog? Marriage Story? Beasts of No Nation?"

"Maybe animated, if we suggest?", Yang brainstormed, "Probably Klaus? The Mitchells vs. The Machines? Over the Moon? The Willoughbys?"

Blake told, "Or supposedly we could do a Nickelodeon movie, either The Spongebob Squarepants Movie, Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus, Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling..."

"Why not The Loud House Movie?", Weiss asked.

The four of them thought over this as Ruby said, "Nah, it's not bad. It's good. We should take a look at it, actually, for the fun of it all."

"Yeah, based on a cartoon that's been getting a lot of acclaim, surely they haven't made a bad movie. We respect the fanbase for that one.", agreed Yang.

Blake imagined and said to her teammates, "Sad that we don't have a RWBY movie yet, although we see the TV series' volumes as movies individually."

"Nice.", Weiss said as she hugged her Faunus girlfriend, "In fact, I am definitely interested in watching this.", as Ruby and Yang nodded in agreement.

Team RWBY's Commentary of The Loud House Movie (Part 1)

Ruby starts off, "The Loud House Movie is based on the popular Nickelodeon series that has high ratings by viewers and great reviews by TV critics, which centers on the only boy who has ten sisters in his family and his chaotic everyday life with his family and friends. Now since Invader Zim and Rocko's Modern Life had TV movies straight-to-Netflix, why not also give The Loud House one as well that doesn't end up with a theatrical release?"

"The movie came out in August 2021 with a lukewarm reception by critics and audiences, proclaiming The Loud House Movie as one of those average Nickelodeon movies while many Loud House fans and its fanbase proclaim it was the best in the series and/or maybe one of the best Nickelodeon movies in recent years. Ever since it came out a while after Sponge On The Run, I can see why.", Yang told.

Blake informed, "Not only does the main cast of the show return like with several other Nickelodeon animated movies based on cartoons, it also brings in some star-studded celebrities playing new characters as usual. It's pretty neat to find out who's in it this time."

"But not only is this just an animated movie...it's an animated musical! And don't take our words too seriously, Loud House fans. We already have high prospects that this movie won't be bad, then that's what we'll think about while reviewing it.", Weiss instructed.

Ruby begins, "So let's get loud for this one! This is The Loud House Movie."

The Loud House Movie

"The film opens with a nice flashback sequence of how the future father of the Louds, Lynn Sr., played by Brian Stepanek, met the future mother of the Louds, Rita, played by Spongebob Squarepants' Karen herself, Jill Talley. It's actually impressive seeing how the Loud siblings were born with a neat wholesome song to go along with it as if this was going to be an origin story, but nope, this is the film's opening sequence and we're far from knowing what the story will be. The animation, which looks just as identical as the show is fluid, fine and all like with the Equestria Girls movies, but for animated movies shows based on cartoons like the new My Little Pony, PAL Patrol, Rugrats and Spongebob, they all have different animation shading techniques and big budget visuals while also keeping true to its settings and character designs, which, speaking of shading, is seen occassionally in this movie.", the leader of team RWBY said when seeing the film's opening scene.

The elder sister of Ruby admitted, "I also love how the youngest sister of the family, Lily, introduces the movie's title after she mainly appeared at the end of the show's opening sequence.", showing the excerpt of Lily using her diaper to spin The Loud House title into The Loud House Movie; she nodded, "Give this baby a grant for nailing that.", describing next, "We cut to present day where Lincoln Loud, played by Asher Bishop, plan to have his fill of breakfast burritos with Lily before the other sisters can. And I admit that in the show, Lincoln and Lily do have a fond sibling relationship, and they unexpectedly both have chemistry throughout the movie together.", then watching the part where the Loud sisters were present in the hallway after Lincoln and Lily get ready for breakfast, knowing that it's Burritos Saturday, "We especially do this when it's Taco Tuesday, and it's not the kind of Tuesday where an evil LEGO overlord with his robots glues everything!"

"Lincoln sends the Loud sisters out the door to race for the burritos, but they come back and fight over it. But everyone panics when they found out that the sisters have something scheduled on the same day, leading to Lincoln to solve their problems. So you may be wondering, why do we think this is one of the film's only flaws? Because there is no other point in the movie that involves sibling conflict!", the female Faunus issued, "The Loud sisters, besides fighting for burritos or getting to be first place to go to the bathroom in a later scene, have no chaotic conflict elsewhere unlike the show. And don't get us wrong, that doesn't necessarily make The Loud House and its movie anywhere bad, because in our honest thoughts, it's doing well so far besides of it.", explaining, "Take the Loud House show for example. What are its messages? Learning from your mistakes while also strengthening sibling bonds. And this works very efficiently."

The Schnee heiress digested, "Sure, there were some episodes that involves around sibling rivalry and other morals and lessons in life, but for a show that regularly has sibling conflict as one of its key themes, there's always a resolution that brings them closer than ever. There are also a lot of times where Lincoln breaks the fourth wall in the show besides not breaking the fourth wall in the movie also, but it helps explain how he wants to make a place in his family like his other sisters.", noting, "Another thing to keep in mind is that the sisters in this movie seem to rely more towards Lincoln than one another, which is strange seeing how is obviously the main character. His sisters, as well as his parents, seem to follow him around like he is a leader or a tour guide. Simple enough since the story actually involves him being the duke of his family's ancestral kingdom. That's an okay storyline, and it ain't half-bad."

"But back to the movie. Lincoln helps his sisters make it to their scheduled hobbies which earns the sisters trophies and recognition, but Lincoln gets shut out from the attention inadvertently while celebrating at their father's restaurant. Yeah, we're very sad this film wasn't selected for contention at the Oscars.", Ruby synopsized before they saw Lincoln, watching his sisters get congratulated by their parents and other civilians in the restaurant, says he wishes everyone thought he was special, "OH, we're doing Encanto! Yeah, we've all seen that movie! Remember that musical where the only girl in her magical family had no powers and she then tried to find her special gift, but it's about her saving her family's miracle while also conflicting with her family members? And she almost seems to give up? Congrats, Loud House fans! This is the closest to Encanto this movie will get!", sighing, "Maybe there's something good on Paramount+ for The Loud House-", just before she thought of the recent live-action Loud House Christmas movie in surprise, "Oh my gosh!"

Yang outlined, "And speaking of Encanto, The Loud House Movie is, again, a musical. Lincoln sings a song called Ordinary Me, basically the film's equivalent of Waiting For A Miracle, and honestly, it actually doesn't sound that bad. It has a nice sweet ring to it and really sounds like a great theme for Lincoln, not to mention that the songs were done by Philip White. And since it's a musical like Equestria Girls, expect some more songs along with the way.", abstracting, "Lincoln sees his friend Clyde McBride, played by Andre Robinson, to comfort him.", before seeing another excerpt of Clyde answering Lincoln of three things of how his friend is special, including reading Ace Savvy comics twice, being the fifth-best junior magician in Royal Woods and the history report he wrote made Clyde felt like he was at the Declaration of Independence, "Oh, we remember those episodes! ...That is, if we could remember which episodes they were since this place between the fourth and fifth seasons, but I suppose they're off-screen episodes!"

"Fearing he may be stuck in his sisters' shadows, Lincoln soon gets an idea from Clyde after he talks about his ancestors in the bakery business. This causes him to tell his family his curiosity about where their ancestors originated.", summarizes Blake as they saw Lisa tell them that he needs Lynn Sr.'s DNA sample just before the four girls saw Lynn undergo several testing methods like the centrifuge, dipping his head into a pool of water, and even tickling his sides, "How does any of this have to do with DNA testing?! Sure, there may be other alternative methods for DNA tests like saliva, but...all that just for a bit of saliva? Are you kidding me? Why not spit in a cup like Lincoln said? That would've worked!", mentioning a Deadpool reference, "Wade Wilson's torturous clinical trials are as crazy as this!", continuing, "They soon find out that their ancestors have originated from none other than Scotland, bringing the idea to travel there."

Weiss said when Lynn Sr. talks to his wife Rita that they do find a way to make vacations work and that their kids always have so much fun, "Remember the time we travelled to Lake Michigan with that resort we went to? That was so fun! I can't forget how we went to Disney World, that was sure fun as well.", soon saying, "They unfortunately don't have enough money due to Lola's beauty pageants which still revolves in no conflict, so it's up to Lincoln to lead his family in travelling to Scotland. Yep, then again, they look up to him like he's a leader in this movie. And there's literally no objections from them about it! It's like they decided not to argue and go along with it! I mean, we have no problem with it, but... I don't know. This movie isn't bad...", synopsizing, "They travel around Europe in search for Scotland, and they eventually make it there via submarine."

"There's even this mini subplot involving Lori's boyfriend Bobby that involves him thinking she's breaking up with him due to a bad signal. Not the first time since Phineas and Ferb had clearly done this before, but let's have this moment.", the red-black-haired huntress discussed as they saw Bobby feel saddened thinking Lori broke up with him though it wasn't true due to the bad signal connection while Ronnie Anne asked if she just broke up with him; she imitated, "I feel very sorry for you, Bobby. I think it was the bad internet connection acting up again.", then saying, "Even when Bobby decides to bike to Scotland all by himself, I also love the expression Ronnie Anne has. She's like, 'He's literally going to Scotland? Really?'", considering, "You know, The Casagrandes should have their own movie too someday.", summarizing next, "The Loud family explore the place, and we are also introduced to Angus, played by David Tennant. You may not realize that not only did he voiced Angus in this movie, but he also played other major roles like Scrooge McDuck from the new Ducktales, The Tenth Doctor from Doctor Who, and even Dr. Rufus Weller from gen:LOCK."

The blonde huntress exampled, "Now that's what you call a talented actor. Him voicing a guest character in a movie like this surely brings it up to a whole new level. He's not an Oscar-nominated actor, but he's very well-known both domestically and internationally. We think he was a great choice for the movie.", also saying, "But you know who also played a role by an actor from and Oscar-nominated movie? They even had Pippin himself, Billy Boyd from Lord of the Rings, as Leni's love interest Scott. Get it? Scott in Scotland? I bet Luan would agree on that joke.", abstracting afterwards, "They get Angus and the townsfolk's attention, leading to introduces as well as discovering the place being named Loch Loud, and beginning another song called This Town Is Named For You.", seeing an excerpt of the song with Angus singing, "And though we do admit the songs are still good and may be catchy, David Tennant indeed adds in to the movie's musical charm. The song may also have some Brave or How to Train Your Dragon vibes, which is pretty nice due to the Scotland setting."

"Angus is in fact the groundskeeper of the Loud Castle who also helps out with the community of Loch Loud, and the Louds soon discover that their ancestors once ruled the land, exactly having the same two parents, ten girls and one boy from the past generation.", informed the black-haired huntress before seeing the snippet of the Loud family looking at their ancestors' picture as Lincoln felt underwhelmed that the ancestors on the picture look the exact same as they were, "Can't get over the feeling why this looks so familiar... Looks like us, but...older.", also saying, "We are soon to another new character named Morag, played by Michelle Gomez, who also collaborated with David Tennant for DuckTales and Doctor Who. And doesn't it look so obvious that she is the villain of the movie? Because she is. And for being one of those characters who wants peace and quiet, she happens to be, strangely, an pseudo counterpart of Lincoln. Mostly because in the show, there were a few instances that Lincoln wanted peace and quiet, but above all, he still cared for his family. Morag on the other hand forcibly wanted peace and quiet, which we'll get to more later."

The white-haired huntress then said, "The Louds decide to stay for a week, as the siblings get their own rooms and Lincoln discovers that his ancestor was the Duke. And while I like this circular shot of Lincoln looking around the room which is reminiscent of the ballroom scene from Beauty of the Beast, this sort of reminds me of...let's say, Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties? Haven't reviewed that yet, so we hope to do so and its predecessor in the future. We're just glad Garfield is now part of the Nickelodeon lineup.", mentioning Garfield and his appearance in the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl game; "Lynn Jr. and Lana also learn that dragons are a part of their history...yeah, reminds us of Dota: Dragon's Blood for some reason...and they discover a baby dragon who had recently hatched out of its egg, before naming it Lela. Yeah, if adopting a dog, a cat, a bird and a hamster wasn't cute enough.", imagining a clip of Gru from Despicable Me 3 smiling in delight when seeing someone come down the stairway as Lincoln walks down the stairway in his new Duke outwear, then imagining the Minions laughing along with the Loud sisters at Lincoln's Duke outfit.

"As the Loud family have a feast, we then get a good scene involving the two new characters Angus and Morag. Seeing how David Tennant and Michelle Gomez have collaborated in the past, why shouldn't they in this movie?", Ruby told as they saw Morag complain about how the Loud family crash through the crowded halls, dodging like ping pong balls and just to reach the bathroom in time; while Angus finishes her sentences, "Hey! That's the Loud House theme song! Not...surprised that they're referencing the theme song, but thanks for reminding us. That's just as close as when Burger Beard sung the Spongebob theme.", afterwards condensing, "Meanwhile, the Louds' goth sister Lucy, played by Jessica DiCicco, mysteriously summons something in the dead of night...a ghost.", as the RWBY team leader reacted as she and her teammates were surprised, "Yep. Lucy actually summoned the ghost of her ancestor Lucille. My gosh, first dragons, now ghosts? Unlike the wisps from Brave, but actual ghosts! We never thought those fantasy elements play a part in The Loud House universe! Next thing we know, there's a possibility that Robot Pirate Island exists as well!", making a Spongebob reference.

Yang also heard Leni say 'O-M-Ghost!' when they meet the ghost of Lucille Loud, as Ruby's sister imagined, "That sounds like what anyone would text when Ghostbusters: Afterlife came out.", describing, "The next day, Lincoln decides to help out with the town all while singing the song I'm Gonna Be The Duke, which, once again, is effectively helped by Angus' singing. We just love how friendly and close he is to Lincoln when he's there to help people out. Not only while bringing his favorite things into the community, but also fixing the town's topsy-turvy flaws like a broken bridge and an endless roundabout intersection in order to make the townspeople's lifestyle better. We're just so glad he helped fix them.", also witnessing Morag tell the townsfolk that Lincoln and his family were tourists and he would be Duke temporarily for one week or rather six days, eleven hours, 23 minutes and four seconds; "Yeah, there's also 49 minutes left in this movie and we're halfway through, so that's for letting us know."

"Knowing the townspeople would be disappointed to see him go as well as preparing for the coronation, she tries to persuade his family into moving to Scotland, but they decide against it.", Blake outlined, as the sisters said he wanted to stay because he wanted to be the duke just before they threw pillows at Lincoln, "Okay, there's a bit of conflict to make it up so far. ", the Faunus saying this in acceptance with the mother Rita mentioning that they have a life in Royal Woods and that they're not moving, before Lincoln brought up the fact that their house has one bathroom, coercing them by decoding to stay in Scotland; the four girls watching this in surprise, "That must've changed your mind!", saying, "They're finally moving to Scotland all because their house has one bathroom? Really? They're giving up their house just so they can move into a castle? I know they're all going to move back to Royal Woods at some point, but over one bathroom? Man...", and respecting, "But you know what, we're just gonna go along with it. Because we still think The Loud House Movie is good despite a few of its flaws so far."

Weiss then says, "And with that, Lincoln commences the coronation as he is given the crown as well as his royal scepter.", also mimicking Morag as she was about to place the crown on Lincoln's head before Angus helped her place it, "I wish I had a chance to wear it. My withdrawal is kicking in without it!", then saying, "Right after, we're treated to an upbeat musical sequence which I swear this must've been the opening theme to a subsidary spinoff of The Loud House, named Loud Castle. We really just love how the lyrics change differently, and how it's great to hear an update to this theme. Just thinking about it, this movie should've been called something like The Loud House: Loud Castle. That seems like that title alternatively may have a nice ring to it, rather than The Loud Castle.", also saying when noticing how the Louds' pet dragon Lela had grown, "I also noticed that Lela had grown before this scene due to eating food, and it's pretty strange that we would've seen a cutely gigantic baby dragon instead of looking a bit like Elliott from the original Pete's Dragon. And we admit, Lela's still a cute character."

"We also like the shot where Lincoln is lying on the floor with the parents and the sisters lying in a circle during this sequence. Not only because it signifies the family's connection, seeing how Lincoln is now the center of attention as the protagonist, but it also distinguishes the others' ages from old to young, and young to old vice versa. That is some ingenious symbolization there.", interested the leader of team RWBY as she, Yang, Blake and Weiss saw Lily at the end of the musical number say the on-screen text 'Loud Castle!'; she then joked happily, "Premiering only on Nickelodeon and Netflix, August 14. Hope to see you there."

To be continued...
