Chapter 10

Sara was happy to have fixed things between her and Sesshomaru. She knew immediately her little dog-catching scheme would work.

Sara was becoming tired of using schemes and tricks to keep Sesshomaru around.

She was now beginning to wonder if her pregnancy plan would even work. Sesshomaru had made the claim he'd have her abort the child. Sara wasn't entirely sure she believed it, but what would going through all the hormonal injections and skipping her birth control altogether mean if he just had her abort the baby.

Sara shook the thought out of her mind. Sesshomaru was a good man despite his actions recently. He would be a great father figure, that much she knew. Sesshomaru had practically raised Inuyasha, and Inuyasha was a charming kid.

Sara admired how much Inuyasha seemed to care about her when he asked her why she was still with Sesshomaru. That question, though, had been becoming annoying for some time.

Many people, including her sister/best friend, had been asking her. Why? Why are you with someone who doesn't care? Why are you with someone who doesn't like you? Why do you put up with someone who mistreats you?

The why's were becoming annoying. Not wanting to be upset any longer, Sara finally dialed her sister back to find out what had been going on.

"Hey! I'm so sorry! I was fixing my fiancé food and left my phone in the room. Is Rin there?" Sara asked, driving down the road.

"No, she's at some market she found the other day. I was supposed to pick her up at school, but I couldn't make it. Can you pick her up from the market? I should be home by dinner?" Kikyo asked of her friend.

"Yeah, no problem! You know where this market is?" Sara asked.

"Yeah, it's on the corner of Benton and Kagewaki. Thank you, Sara. I honestly don't know what I'd do without you." Kikyo said honestly.

"Oh, perfect! I'm right there! My fiancé doesn't live far from there at all." Sara said happily.

"Thank you again! I'll see you, girls, soon!" Kikyo hung up quickly as the alarms in the hospital she worked at began going off.

Sara hung up, hearing the commotion at her friend's job. Sara respected Kikyo greatly for putting up with such a stressful career.

Kikyo had always been such a nurturing, caring, loving person. Sara wasn't surprised that her sister had received the chief nursing officer position.

Kikyo was hands-on and dedicated to helping everyone. Sara knew her dedication and hard work would eventually pay off for her friend, and she was happy that Kikyo had returned home so she could lend a hand with her daughter Rin.

Sara adored Rin! And had often wished that whenever she would have kids, they'd be like her.

Sara spotted the small local market and pulled into a parking space. She checked her appearance in the rearview mirror quickly before stepping out.

She had felt horrible about abandoning Rin the other evening. The disappointment on the young girl's face broke her into pieces. And even though sex with Sesshomaru was so incredibly worth it! What he had said to her the morning after was not.

Sara didn't mind too much. The makeup sex was amazing! She adored when Sesshomaru was passionate in his lovemaking.

She had to shake her head of the thought as she could feel her body heating up again. Just as she looked down one of the isles, she spotted her adorable niece.

Rin was picture-perfect. She held her shopping basket as if she was raised by royalty. Or maybe Sara just believed her niece to be that perfect.

Sara decided to sneak up on her unsuspecting niece.

~oOo~

"Let's go back, back to the beginning, back to when the earth, the sun, the stars all aligned 'Cause perfect didn't feel so perfect, Trying to fit a square into a circle was no life." Rin sang quietly as she looked for her seasoning.

Rin wasn't really paying much attention to her task of shopping. The fact that her mother hadn't shown up was lying heavy on her heart.

Kikyo would probably feel guilty for not making it now. Rin felt guilty she had put pressure on her mother now. Rin would just have to work harder and fix the problem herself. Her mom had enough to deal with without Rin getting into trouble at school.

Rin wasn't upset or sad or even disappointed. She understood her mom's job was demanding, and she respected that.

Rin walked the isles looking for ingredients for dinner tonight. Rin had learned to cook a long time ago back. If she didn't, she would have straight-up starved.

Her mother was not bad, mistreating, or uncaring. She was actually the complete opposite.

Kikyo was a wonderful mother! She taught Rin everything and anything she would need to know. And when Rin's father passed away, Kikyo always put Rin first.

She made sure Rin understood that her father was gone and wasn't coming back. She made sure to be there for her and care for her.

Occasionally her job would consume her time, though. But that was expected. Kikyo always hired help, but they were never exactly up to par.

So Rin began cooking, cleaning, and helping her mom manage money. She helped take care of bills, and she often did the shopping for groceries or home necessities.

Rin hummed the chorus of Come Clean by Hilary Duff as she focused on the spices she was searching for. She was so focused that she hadn't noticed her aunt creeping up on her from behind.

"BOO!" Sara screamed out, grabbing Rin from behind in a tight hug.

"Auntie! You scared me! I wasn't expecting to see you until tonight with mama!? What are you doing here?" Rin asked, surprised and happy.

Rin absolutely adored her aunt and was happy to see her. Somehow Sara just made things better. Rin didn't feel worried, scared, confused, or like she was a burden when Sara was around.

Her aunt always knew what to say or to explain things to Rin that just made her feel better. Sara never treated Rin like a child. She treated her like she was an adult and answered like an adult. Even though sometimes her aunt would coddle her, Rin didn't mind. There were moments she appreciated special treatment from her aunt, and besides, Sara was the only one who knew of Rin's secret.

Rin had never shared with anyone else her love for writing. Sara knew and even read some of Rin's written stories. Her aunt was the only person she had ever shared this with.

"Your moms called me and told me where to find you. Why'd you come shopping out this way? You are pretty far from home. Ya know that, right?" Sara asked.

Rin blushed lightly. She didn't want to tell her aunt that she had hoped to run into her teacher again. "Umm, this is where the delicious fruit came from. I was hoping to find some more." Rin smiled.

"You'll be happy to learn that all our markets have some pretty good fruit in them. So what are we shopping for?" Sara peaked into the basket and saw a variety of peppers. And fresh herbs.

"I was thinking maybe fajitas? Those are a girl's night kinda meal. And I was gonna make some margaritas to go with them?" Rin said suggested showing her basket.

"Yum! I had no clue your mom was letting you drink so young! This is gonna be so much fun!" Sara said excitedly.

"Virgin Margarita's auntie," Rin giggled.

"Oh, well, that's a buzz kill.-Sara said, jokingly pulling Rin into a side hug.-I think that sounds delicious! So how was school? Any cute boys?" Sara nudged Rin's shoulder.

Rin giggled and contemplated what she should say. She wanted to say yes, or more like scream it! She tried to tell her aunt the entire truth but decided against it.

Rin knew she could trust her aunt, but she also knew her aunt told her mother everything. Rin wasn't ready just yet for Kikyo's lecture on how older men are dangerous, and she's too young to consent anyways.

"Well, there are a few cute boys. And a super dreamy older boy. He's more like a man, in my opinion, though." Rin settled for a semi truth.

"Oh! My! Gosh! Tell me all about him!! I'm so excited! Are these potential sex partners?!" Sara asked Rin.

"Auntie!-Rin blushed and bit her lower lip.-One maybe...He just went through a break-up.." Rin blushed and covered her grin.

Sara screamed and locked arms with Rin as they chatted more about this heartthrob that Rin wanted to lose her virginity to.

"Spill! I need juicy deets! Do you have a pic of him!?" Sara asked.

She wasn't in the habit of ratting on her niece or lecturing her about silly decisions. Sara understood that life happens. You can't always control it or plan for it. So when kids made mistakes, it was better to help them learn not to make the same ones repeatedly.

"Well, he's tall, strong, brave, smart, he's super handsome! And he loves reading!" Rin beamed as she pictured her English teacher.

She felt somewhat foolish for having a crush on a teacher. It was so silly. He'd obviously never find her attractive. And with that thought, Rin's energy immediately dropped.

Sesshomaru had seen her with her skirt up. Those boys were lifting up her skirt and messing with her when he came into the hall. Sesshomaru must think of her as such a little girl! What was she thinking wearing pink panties with bunnies on them!

Rin slapped her forehead and groaned as Sara talked about how dreamy the guy sounded and maybe they should pick up a pack of condoms.

Sara finally caught notice of her niece's immediate mood change. "Rin? Hey? What's up, baby girl?" Sara asked, concerned.

"It's nothing. I just realized that he probably sees me as a child. I don't have a chance with someone like him." Rin said sadly.

"Hey! Don't think like that! You have just as good a chance as any girl in that school! You just gotta be more confident. Trust me, ok?" Sara made Rin look at her.

"Yeah. Ok." Rin agreed.

As the two shopped, they continued to speak about each others day. Sara had mentioned nothing about her and her fiancé arguing. She never did. She only talked about the good. She was embarrassed to talk about the bad.

She occasionally spoke the truth with Kikyo but had stopped when Kikyo began disliking Sesshomaru before even having gotten to know him.

Sara was very open with her niece about everything. Including sex, Rin always used Sara's sexual experiences in her writing.

While speaking about her most recent sexual experience, she made the mistake of mentioning it was an extraordinary make-up sex session.

Rin didn't say anything. She understood that her aunt wanted the perfect relationship. Who was she to question anything?

When Sara realized what she had said, she quickly became silent—not wanting to dive too deep into the subject. Rin, however, felt that her aunt needed to get something off her chest.

"Despite what mama said, I think you guys will be very happy together." Rin smiled.

"Hm? What do you mean despite what your mom says?" Sara asked. Her heart immediately fell into her gut. Kikyo had verbally bashed her relationship behind her back?

"Mama said she doesn't think you guys are ever gonna get married. She said you both do not love each other and that you deserve better than someone who treats you so badly." Rin said, looking at her aunt.

"Well.-Sara had to really focus on keeping her composure.-That's not true. I actually love him a great deal. And he loves me just as much. I've loved him since we were very young. He's gonna have dinner with us, and you'll finally get to meet him. Then you can be the judge of how we feel about one another." Sara smiled.

"Yay! I can't wait to see the man that's stolen, my auntie!-Rin hugged Sara tightly.-He. And I will have to become best friends so I can live with yous from time to time!" Rin joked.

Sara smiled and agreed. She and Rin began chatting, sharing dirty jokes, and talking about school.

Rin never shared her teacher's name with Sara, just mentioned it was her English teacher she struggled with.

Sara offered to help best she can, and even offered to call her fiancé. Sara mentioned how he loved reading, and even though he is a math teacher, Sara assumed he could help Rin out in English.

Rin, even though grateful, declined. She didn't mind working as hard as she was to pass her class. Rin wanted to get better all on her own. And she had a plan on how to do just that.

~oOo~

Kikyo exhaled relief as she pulled into her driveway. Her sister/best friend's car was pulled into her usual spot.

Kikyo couldn't be more relieved that Sara was here and with Rin now. It had removed so much stress from Kikyo living in the same town as her closest and truest friend.

Even when Kikyo moved countries away, Sara was still always there for them. She had even sent them money occasionally. That was something Kikyo never told her daughter out of shame.

Kikyo was always extremely grateful to Sara for everything she had done for her and her daughter. It's why Kikyo despised this fiancé Sara always went on and on about. Kikyo felt her best friend deserved so much better!

Kikyo smiled softly at the sound of music booming from her home. Rin adored music, and Kikyo could tell she had chosen the song.

The lyrics to Wake up by Hilary Duff filled the quiet evening. Kikyo sighed as she giggled at the thought of the noise complaints she'd probably receive.

Once she opened her front door, the music was louder than ever. She called out, announcing she was home, knowing the two she loved most in this world could not hear her.

She watched from the archway in her living room her daughter and her sister dancing. Sara was fantastic, caring, kind, loyal. There was no way Kikyo had made the wrong decision moving back here.

Rin danced and sang with her aunt into cut pieces of vegetables. The two laughed and sang loudly and probably terribly to the song playing.

Rin had finally caught sight of her mother and waved happily before running up to her. Rin hugged her mom tightly as Sara turned down the radio.

"Hey, mama! Welcome home! I set up a bath for you upstairs if you wanna relax a little before dinner." Rin smiled.

Kikyo kissed her daughter's head and hugged her tighter. "Oh darling, you are so sweet. No, mama is fine. It smells delicious in here! What are we having? Anything I can help with?" Kikyo was immediately pushed to sit down.

"Yes! You can help us finish off these margaritas! No working for you tonight!" Sara joked, handing her best friend a drink.

"Sara?" Kikyo questioned.

"It's virgin. Don't worry about it." Sara smiled and shoved Kikyo playfully.

Sara and Rin finished plating so the three could sit and enjoy dinner together.

All three women talked of their day, cracked jokes, and simply enjoyed being around each other again. Sara spoke about her fiancé the entire time. Now knowing how Kikyo felt, she kept an extra close eye on her sister.

Kikyo rolled her eyes or ignored certain subjects altogether. Sara was amazed. She had no clue that her most faithful friend would be jealous of her relationship. But here it was, clear as day before her very eyes.

She wouldn't say anything outright about it. But Sara knew she'd have to find some way to address the situation.

After dinner, Kikyo asked that Rin finish her homework and get cleaned up before their movie. She still had school tomorrow, so Kikyo wanted her in bed this time and early.

Rin agreed and kissed both her aunt and mother on the cheek before heading upstairs, while Sara and Kikyo got to work on cleaning up the kitchen and doing the dishes.

Sara felt now would be the best time to address the issue Kikyo apparently had. So Sara kept staring at her friend, waiting for Kikyo to say something.

"What? You've been staring at me weirdly all night." Kikyo finally caved in.

"You rolled your eyes as I was speaking about my fiancé. You don't think he's real, or you just don't think I'm actually engaged? What?" Sara asked.

She wouldn't tell Kikyo what Rin told her. She'd never betray her nieces trust like that. But she wasn't gonna let what Kikyo said go either.

"I'm sorry. It's just. You telling me that you have to slip him sleeping pills so you could walk around his house makes me a little skeptical. He called you away from us the other night for.-Kikyo looked around to make sure Rin was nowhere near.-Sex.-Kikyo whispered.-And he just seems not nice. I mean, I just don't like how he treats you, is all." Kikyo said honestly.

"I'm sorry about the other night. Honestly, I am. He said he'd make it up by taking us all out. He's really charming. He's just been through a lot. His job is very stressful, you know?" Sara defended.

"Sara. He's a science teacher? How stressful could teaching kids about baking soda and peroxide really be.-Kikyo said defensively, making Sara laugh.-Rin's English teacher brought her by the house the other day. I was gonna invite him over for dinner, why don't you come and meet him? He was really cute. Totally your type. Tall, handsome, he had that kinda bad boy feel but dressed like a total nerd." Kikyo laughed.

Sara began laughing and hugged her friend from behind. "I love you. You're always looking out for me. Why don't you date him, though? Ask him out! Maybe he'll give Rin better grades?" Sara suggested.

"No, I'm not interested in dating. I barely have time for my own daughter. Plus, he's not exactly my type. So she told you that he was the teacher failing her, though? Did she say why?" Kikyo asked.

"Nah, but Rin doesn't seem to mind. She said he's super passionate about books and shit. I told her I'd have my Sesh help her out, but she wants to impress her teacher on her own." Sara said while picking at some of the bell peppers from the fajitas.

"I feel horrible. I was supposed to go and speak with that teacher today. Do you think Rin hates me for it?" Kikyo asked sadly.

"Sis. Come on.-Sara hugged Kikyo.-Rin knows your job is demanding. She loves you more than anything in this world! She'd never think that if you ever. Now! On to more important things! I need you to give me something I can slip him, so he doesn't wake up feeling so headachey from the sleeping pills. He gets really cranky and moody with them and nauseous. So." Sara said, earning another eye roll from Kikyo.

"Sara. Geez, did you ever think he may be allergic to them? Stop drugging him.-Kikyo went back to cleaning.-It's ridiculous that you have to drug your own fiancé." Kikyo said, looking at the suds on the plates she scrubbed.

"I don't think he is? Whatever. Ok. How about if you give me something to help me get pregnant. I've been taking hormones, I've been off the pill for months he cums inside and nothing! I'm empty! He wants a baby, and so do I!" Sara begged her friend.

"Sara, it's dangerous what you are doing. And don't you think maybe you two should wait until you are actually married?" Kikyo answered back.

"Look, we love each other. And we know the wedding will happen eventually. But imagine how cute my baby would look in a mini wedding dress or tux at our wedding, sis! Come on, please!!" Sara begged.

Kikyo laughed and flicked water at her friend. "You are horrible!" Kikyo and Sara began in a water flick fight as they finished cleaning.

Sara didn't believe when Sesshomaru told her that he'd make her abort their child. She knew Sesshomaru actually adored children. She also knew he'd make an amazing father since he practically raised Inuyasha.

Sara was a woman who obtained everything she wanted through any means. Her mother passed when she was very young, and her father was so negligent that he had fallen asleep while smoking and almost killed her in a house fire.

Had it not been for a neighbor, Sara would've died along with him that day. Since then, she swore she'd do all she could to get back what she lost.

Family.

Home.

Security.

Wealth.

She could have all those things with Sesshomaru. He just needed to escape his past and let his dead mother be just that! Dead!

Sara was tired of him pining over her and holding onto anything she deemed important. He was such a different person before that awful woman got sick. Sara held a resentment toward Inukimi for taking her son's life with her when she died.

Luckily, Sesshomaru was inheriting millions! And Sara could make sure and move them away, far away and live a life of complete leisure.

All she had to do was get Sesshomaru to let go of his awful family, his miserable career, and those disgusting animals! Sara couldn't wait until they married, and she could force those two miniature horses to be put down once and for all!

As Kikyo readied the living room for a romcom, Sara thought to head upstairs and check on Rin.

~oOo~

Rin, fresh out of the shower, had a towel wrapped around her head as she slipped on her matching bra and pantie set.

The set was all white with some light lace appliqués. It was nothing fancy at all, but it would've been better than bunny underwear.

Rin stared at herself in a floor-length mirror. Those boys were right. She did look like she was a child.

Who would ever find her sexy? Especially someone like her English teacher. His ex was probably a supermodel or something! Rin sighed sadly as she continued to stare at her unimpressive body.

"Knock, knock. You decent?" Sara stepped in.

"Auntie?" Rin asked, unmoving.

"Yeah, beautiful girl?" Sara sat on the bed, waiting for Rin to ask her a question.

"Am I...sexy? Or am I just...cute?" Rin looked at her small breast, her flat tummy, her small hips, her non-existent butt.

She felt silly thinking negatively, but those boys making fun of her was bad enough. It was worse than Sesshomaru seeing her childish printed underpants.

"Why would you ask such a silly question? You are practically a fetish! How sexy you are! Did something happen today that you're asking? Boys fawning over some busty slut?" Sara asked worriedly.

"Remember the older guy I said I liked? Well, some younger boys were picking on me, calling me short and a baby. The guy I like saved me and all... But I was wearing pink underwear with bunnies on them. He totally saw that! And I just realize I don't have anything sexy, and maybe that's because I'm not sexy. And I jus-" Rin was silenced by Sara pulling her to sit down so she could hold her.

"Hey, those guys were jerks. And if he saved you, that means he likes you; if he's a good man, then he won't care what kind of underwear you have on. My fiancé. He bought me special granny panties just for when I have my period. I'm sure this older kid you like would do you even if you had bunnies on!" Sara smiled, trying to cheer Rin up.

"Yeah, I guess," Rin said with a blush.

"Aww! Rin, you really like him! I'm so happy for you! Hey! How about this? This weekend. I'll take you to the mall, and we'll buy some sexy panties. How's that sound?" Sara asked, smiling at Rin.

"You'd really let me buy them with you?" Rin asked.

"Of course! Hey. I get wanting to do extra or needing a little confidence boost from time to time. There is nothing wrong with wearing a thong once in a while. As long as you don't mind the wedgie?" Sara joked.

Rin smiled and hugged her aunt. She didn't say anything because she was overwhelmed and didn't want to start crying. This is why she loved her aunt so much! Sara always understood that sometimes girls want to look or feel like a woman.

"I love you, baby girl. Always remember auntie has your back, ok?" Sara smiled and pet Rin's head.

"I know. I love you to auntie. Your the best." Rin snuggled into her aunt's hug.

"Ok, get dressed. And meet your mama and me downstairs! We got margaritas to drink!" Sara smiled and hit Rin with a pillow.

Rin laughed and hit her aunt off with a pillow. "Ok, I'll be down in a moment." Rin smiled.

"Don't start what you can't finish! I'm known as the pillow fight champion of the world, you know?" Sara smiled as she knocked Rin over.

Rin smiled and rolled her eyes jokingly. Sara laughed and smiled at her niece.

It bothered Sara a great deal that her niece was bothered at school. Tomorrow she'd make sure to drop off Rin and talk to the principal.

Sara closed Rin's door to give the young girl some privacy and went to find Kikyo.

Sara quickly walked up to Kikyo to tell her what had happened to Rin at school. And that she'd take Rin in the morning and talk to the principal about the boys that bothered her.

Kikyo gasped and tried to run up to her daughter, but Sara stopped her. She encouraged her long-time friend and sister to leave the situation to Sara to ask more questions about what happened without Rin feeling attacked.

Sara always had Rin's best interest at heart. She always made sure to tell Kikyo anything that she needed to know and address quickly.

Kikyo accepted her friend's advice and tried to keep calm as Rin came down. Sara immediately pulled Rin into the kitchen to make more margaritas, and the three sat down and watched a movie called Never been kissed.

~oOo~

After the movie, Rin said goodnight to her aunt and mother, who would be sharing a room.

Rin logged onto her computer and decided in order to impress her teacher. She'd have to do something she'd never done before.

Rin scanned her written homework into the computer and allowed the computer to check her homework for any and all errors.

Rin wasn't one for cheating or the easy way out, but she wanted to impress her savior.

Besides, what harm could cheating once really do?
