Prompt: Return

Jumping through the passage of time once more, they landed at the bottom and saw bright skies about before Sesshoumaru whisked them to the surface and took a look around the tree of ages to see the graves of Kagome's friends and his brother again. Walking back to his mate, he saw that she had made her way to where Kaede's house still stood, now in the barren fields of what used to be a village.

"So far things look like they did before we traveled through time." She confirmed once he had returned to her side.

"Only one way to truly see, we must return to the fortress," Sesshoumaru told her, summoning his cloud of demonic energy.

In truth they had returned to the moment they left. If you had seen them leave then moments later they returned and exited the well.

They arrived back at the fortress later that day and on the way they passed villages that Kagome remembered passing through and trying to assist with quarantine the sick from the healthy and she knew that they had returned to their own time.

She insisted on stopping at villages after the third one, attempting to summon the powers within that allowed her to purify the virus from the demons. Humans unfortunately were beyond her help but she knew in her heart that she needed to save demons or else the future they witnessed would come to fruition.

The other thing that had been bugging her was Miyuki. The future son of hers, looked capable but there was something hidden beyond his eyes that bothered her, like he was holding a dark secret.

How was she as a mother? Had he been used for her ambitions and treated unkindly…? She was sure that this wasn't usual for demons but to her she thought despite species, children deserved to be treated kindly at the very least.

"When they were on the final leap to the fortress, Kagome grabbed Sesshoumaru's sleeve and asked him his opinion on the matter of how the heir would be raised…

Sesshoumaru understood how she could be concerned after meeting his future son and perhaps her maternal instincts were kicking into high gear with her newly pregnant as well.

"He won't be maimed but he may have a rough upbringing, as is with noble demons… but she won't kill him and he will be fine, you need a bit of rough treatment to become strong enough to handle becoming a demon lord." Sesshoumaru told her lately.

"I just don't feel right about her raising him…. "She muttered lightly, knowing she couldn't do anything about it.

"You should be more worried about yourself" he tutted lightly patting her stomach.

She blushed, looking away.

Arriving back at the fortress, Jaken began sobbing, as he was starting to worry about where both of them had gone and wondered if they were coming back or not.

They looked at each other knowingly, they decided to keep their time travels to themselves for now.

A/N: and we're back to before but now Kagome understands that the north is more of a threat than she first thought. As usual feel free to leave likes, kudos, favorites, follows, comments and reviews on whichever platform you are reading on :) Also I wasn't going to mention it but I thought it was interesting how many views I got on my latest tik tok, of me joking of how is is to write a chapter update as a fanfiction author when you are having an off day, as of this morning its nearing 600 views and all I did was press … lol (also I don't even post. I have like two vids of me outside my home and some bookshelf vids as I finally invested in an Ikea Billy bookshelf.)
