Naruto was with Team Avatar at Cranefish Town Hall, sitting with them on the Cranefish Town Business Council.

"So, Naruto." Katara said. "Before we begin building the United Republic, we would like to go on some life changing field trips with you."

"I will start, since I started with Zuko." Aang volunteered.

"Great!" Naruto said. "What is it you want to do?"

"Well, I wanted to learn Lighting generation, since my Firebending teacher only taught me to redirect lightning." Naruto pulled out his scrolls and laid them on the table.

"According to the legends, the ninja world originated with the Sage of the Six Paths, who was originally a man named Mojon Chu, the cousin of the Chu Brothers, who the first Avatar named Wan stole from long ago." Naruto explained. "He found that Wan had become the Avatar, and met Wan after the spirit portals were closed. He reached into Wan and pulled out a fragment of the Avatar spirit known as Raava and attached it to his soul, making himself the Sage of the Six Paths." He later changed his name to Hagoromo Otsutsuki, and moved to the other side of the globe to create his own ninja world, separate from the bending world."

"Wait a minute." Aang said. "It says that Wan closed the Spirit Portals before Mojon became the Sage of the Six Paths. Shouldn't the spirits on the other side have gone back to the Spirit World?"

"Apparently, they did not." Naruto explained. "They were in the physical world for so long that they had become mortal." Naruto summoned Gamatatsu to demonstrate.

"If you're going on a life changing field trip, don't forget to bring a towel!" Gamatatsu advised.

"Why would we need a towel….you know what, never mind!" Naruto responded.

"Ya wanna get high?" Gamatatsu asked. Naruto facepalmed.

"So that thing is a mortal spirit that can talk?" Sokka asked, looking scared.

"Yes." Naruto answered.

"So what about Lightning generation?" Aang asked. "Since that yellow nation is the Land of Lightning, how did that come into being when lightning is part of fire?"

"Well, the first people to generate lightning were not people at all. They were the Electric Eel Hounds." Naruto answered. "A tribe of ancient Firebenders known as the Thunder Warriors had learned from the Electric Eel Hounds to develop the skill of Lightning generation. They were under attack by the first Firelord named Toz, so they moved to what is now the Land of Lightning, and were there so long that lightning had mutated into its own element."

"What are we waiting for, let's get over to the Land of Lighting!" Aang said. Naruto and Aang left the Town Hall. When they exited, Naruto used his Flying Thunder God Jutsu while grabbing Aang's hand to transport him to the Land of Lightning. They arrived at the Lightning Temple, and saw the descendants of the Thunder Warriors there.

When they arrived at the Lightning Temple, it looked like a circle of dark stone columns joined together by dark stone walls with an elegant stone carved door. As they entered the temple, there were some creepy skulls on the walls, with their eyes staring at Aang and Naruto. Aang stepped on a tile on the ground, but one of the skulls' eyes shot an arrow at Aang, but Aang dodged the arrow.

"That trap is probably centuries old, but it still works." Aang said.

"The trap wasn't set up here because the Thunder Warriors felt like it, they may be protecting something." Naruto said. He and Aang avoided the traps and got to the altar where the Thunder Warriors' treasure was, the Thunder God Statue. Naruto picked up the statue and replaced it with a sack.

"What's in that sack?" Aang asked.

"Some expired coupons to Ichiraku's Ramen shop." Naruto answered. "They expired years ago, so they're worthless." The sack fell through the altar, as the altar chamber began to shake.

"What's happening?" Aang said.

"The temple is about to collapse!" Naruto said. "We have to get out of here!" Naruto and Aang headed for the back door, leading to a large track. A giant boulder the shape of a ball started chasing Naruto and Aang as they ran away from it.

"That boulder is chasing us!" Aang said. "Wait a minute…" Aang got an idea. He used his Earthbending to break the boulder, splitting it in two. Naruto and Aang exited the track but were caught by some Thunder Warriors, who looked like Vikings in black and white with yellow accents.

"Who dares steal our sacred statue?" The Thunder Warrior Chief, Chief Hikaru, a big black man with grey hair and a black and gold robe said.

"We did." Naruto and Aang confessed.

"Listen, we didn't come to steal your treasure, we came to learn Lightning generation." Aang explained.

"You will start by handing over the treasure." Naruto handed Hikaru the treasure.

"Now then, you will go to the generator shrine and stick your hand in there to electrify your hand." Hikaru explained. "Take the elevator up to the top of the pyramid by the river so the masters will judge you."

"Who are the masters?" Naruto asked.

"Their names are Gen and Gin, they are wise women who are skilled in Lightning generation." Hikaru said. "Go to the generator shrine and begin the ceremony now!" Naruto and Aang electrified their hands in the generator shrine and then took the elevator up to the top of the pyramid. The Electric Eel Hounds rose from the river, one black, one white. They danced around Aang and Naruto, circling the pyramid.

"Why are they just dancing around?" Naruto asked.

"Maybe we should showcase the lighting in action." Aang answered. Aang and Naruto danced with the Eel Hounds in the same way that Aang and Zuko did the Dancing Dragon. Naruto danced with the black Eel Hound, and Aang danced with the white Eel Hound.

"Judgement time!" Hikaru said. The Eel hounds breathed lightning on Naruto and Aang giving them incredible power. Aang started bending lightning the same way Azula did when she performed for Lo and Li, and Aang nailed it perfectly.

"You did it!" Naruto said. "You are a Lightning Bender." Naruto used the Thunder God Jutsu to send Aang back to home at Cranefish Town Hall.

Meanwhile, at Mai's house, Zuko was sleeping with Mai, rolling around in the bed. Mai and Zuko heard a ticking noise as they were sleeping.

"What's that ticking noise, is that a clock?" Mai asked. Mai searched her drawers to find a clock, but she couldn't find one. She searched under her bed, and there was a bomb made from several blasting jelly tubes wired to a timer. Azula and Raiden were sitting outside waiting for the timer to go off.

"Tick…Tick….Tick..BOOM!" Raiden said in a tauntingly manner. The bomb exploded in the distance, as it was unclear if either Mai or Zuko survived or died.
