Izuku opened his eyes, momentarily blinded by how comparably bright it was wherever he was now. As he saw a massive line of small, blue orbs both ahead and behind him, Izuku tried to remember what had just happened. After a moment's thought, it hit Izuku like a truck. He had died. Tears began to fill his eyes. What would his mom think? What would his father, or Raditz think? How would Kacchan react to his death? Izuku wiped his tears off with the sleeve of his school uniform, reminding him of the friends he had left behind.
As Izuku took another step forward in the line, Izuku thought of what Kacchan would do without him. There was no doubt he would still become a hero, even if they couldn't do it together anymore. Before he could continue his train of thought, a lightbulb lit up in his head. The Dragon Balls! In his father's stories from his childhood that he had told him over the past year, there were seven of them, and when they were brought together, the collector could wish for anything! That was how Krillin had come back from death when they were kids!
Izuku smiled, knowing that he wouldn't be leaving the Earth completely just yet. But, would there be an Earth to return to? Nappa might still be alive after that attack he pulled, and if he was, Nappa and the prince might be able to take down Goku, Raditz, and Piccolo combined. Toshinori might be out of the picture, even if Izuku had stopped that building from completely crushing him. Izuku didn't see Toshinori here, so that was a good sign. Izuku regretted looking for him, thanks to the fact that he saw Nappa not far behind him in the line.
Nappa noticed him looking at the brute, and he began to barrel through the spirits, knocking them off the bridge they were on and sending them falling through the clouds. "Sir! If you do not halt immediately, you will be sent straight to Hell!" a horned man with blue skin ordered. When Nappa didn't stop, sirens blared as Nappa reached Izuku, who entered Full Cowling at a two times multiplier, or roughly twenty percent of One for All's strength, and kicked Nappa away with his school-gifted shoes. Then two men, both wearing nearly identical clothing and looking pretty similar except for a difference in skin color, charged towards Nappa and grabbed him on either side.
The two men carried him towards the side of the bridge and jumped down, making Izuku wonder exactly what was down there. Despite having an eventful start to his time in the afterlife, Izuku knew this line would take a while, so he waited.
Raditz was astonished by what he was seeing. His brother, a Saiyan born with a power level of only two, was the legendary Super Saiyan! Who'd have thought it! This was just reinforcement of something that their father had put into Raditz's head before his tragic end as the result of the meteor destroying Planet Vegeta while he, Vegeta, and Nappa were out on a mission together with a few other soldiers of Frieza's. The class system the Saiyans had was a dysfunctional system that proved nothing. A Saiyan could become as strong as they needed to under the right conditions, and the golden haired man Raditz was proud to call brother that was currently wailing on Vegeta was proof enough of that concept.
Raditz squinted, noticing that Kakarot was heavily holding back on his blows, making him wonder if Kakarot really intended to spare Vegeta. Was it that he thought that Vegeta would be able to switch sides like he had? As far as Raditz knew, the prince was far worse than he was in every category you could imagine, which made it hard to believe that Vegeta had a sliver of goodness in his soul. But, Earth was pretty strange as a whole. It was every day that you saw a naturally good Saiyan in the universe, even before their near extinction.
"He can't be serious," a battered Toshinori protested. "That monster brought the bastard that killed young Son here!" Raditz was surprised by the nickname, never having heard him call Izuku that before. Maybe he just hadn't been paying attention before, which could be true.
"Face the facts," Piccolo said, "Goku always tries to see the best in people. When we first met, he had a chance to kill me in a moment of weakness, but he let me live to fight another day. No matter who he's fighting, Goku will give everyone a second chance." That worried Raditz a little. If that were true, they might be screwed if Frieza were to ever become an issue for them.
"I'm not letting him spare him!" Toshinori shouted, trying to jump into battle, but Raditz flew into the air, stopping him from continuing.
"You're in no shape to continue fighting," Raditz said, remembering the bag Kakarot had handed him before the battle. He picked it up from a string tied around his waist and opened it up, flipping it over and seeing four green beans fall out. Supposedly, these healed someone immediately. "Take this," Raditz instructed, noticing Toshinori's severe injuries, despite the fact that Izuku sacrificed himself for his survival, "It'll restore you to an uninjured state, but don't go picking fights you can't finish. Vegeta's leagues above us both, Kakarot's the only one who can beat him," Raditz confessed, admitting that his brother had surpassed him for the first time in his life.
Raditz returned his gaze to the battle as Toshinori returned to the ground with a grimace, popping the bean into his mouth and chewing it up well before swallowing. Then, like magic, his cuts, scrapes, and bruises disappeared in the blink of an eye, but his clothes remained just as tattered as before. Raditz winced as Kakarot landed a powerful gut punch that knocked the wind out of Vegeta, making him keel over in the air from the pain. Then, in a motion similar to a sledgehammer being swung down onto his head, Kakarot slammed two hands straight into the base of Vegeta's skull, forcing him down onto the ground below, knocking up dust everywhere and creating a crater from the landing.
Raditz smirked, knowing Vegeta was finally feeling the pain that Raditz had been put through by his abusive superiors.
The line was finally almost over, and Izuku could see where it led. A ginormous man with red skin and wearing a purple two piece suit with a funny-looking hat on sat, judging whether spirits should be sent to Heaven or Hell. As he finished up with the few in front of him, the man said, "I am King Yemma, judge of the spirits!" Izuku had heard him say it many times before this, so he was already aware of this fact. King Yemma flipped a page, reading off what was on the book.
"Son Izuku, age five. Died… fighting for the safety of Earth?" King Yemma said, sounding both surprised and impressed. King Yemma peered over his massive desk, made of mahogany wood that was remarkably well polished. "Kid, I don't know what kind of work you put in, but you got your body, still. I think King Kai might wanna meet you," he said with a smirk. "Take the path out back, that's Snake Way. It's long, but it'll be worth it."
If the judge for the afterlife was recommending it, Izuku assumed it was probably worthwhile. So, Izuku nodded, and followed his instructions, walking out past the office of sorts for King Yemma and seeing a path that stretched out farther than the eye could see. This might be a while, so Izuku began to fly past the beaten trail, gaining an advantage thanks to his ability to fly. Izuku sighed, wondering how long this would take.
Goku knew Vegeta stood no chance the moment he landed a hit on Vegeta. His rage has caused him to transform into something he had never felt before, but it was incredible. Goku felt like he was more alive than ever, as if he were constantly experiencing a high like no other. If he wasn't so upset, he might actually be smiling right about now. "Impossible!" Vegeta spat after being hit once. "You can't be the warrior of legend!" Vegeta shouted. "It was supposed to be me, not some low class trash sent to this backwater planet! You aren't the Super Saiyan!" he said, refusing to believe that Goku had become whatever that 'Super Saiyan' thing was.
Goku knew he didn't need to drag this fight out any longer. He needed information out of Vegeta, and he wouldn't be giving it anytime soon. So, Goku flew towards Vegeta at speeds faster than he could react, and knocked him out with a chop to the back of the neck.
It had been a couple of days since the Disaster of Musutafu, as it had been dubbed by the media. As Toshinori scrolled through the news, his heart skipped a beat when he saw an article titled: 'Only one dead after tragedy: Our hearts go out to the Son family.' An image of Izuku, smiling at the camera with a blonde boy with red eyes made Toshinori wonder why Izuku had decided to get in the way of the falling office building.
Ever since the defeat of Vegeta, who was thought to be dead by the public, Toshinori had pondered that question. Now, One for All was all but gone from the world. It was a lucky thing that the Dragon Balls existed. Soon, they were supposed to search for them, even if they already had at least one that he knew of. But, Toshinori had to give a speech to the public. Naturally, not long after the massive explosion that resulted in much destruction in an attempt to defeat both him and Izuku, the media had picked up on the story.
They didn't know much, certainly not that aliens had invaded. Capsule Corporation had confiscated the pods and took them away to a private lot without telling anyone other than those present, with the permission of the Commission. The way the media spun it, it was just two men with abnormally powerful Quirks who had been taken down by Toshinori, who had been forced to take the credit for in order to maintain the secrets of ki. If word were to get out, All for One would be an entirely different beast. Speaking of, Toshinori should probably pay him a visit soon.
Toshinori had sensed a ki that had to be his the moment he learned how to locate a person like that, but he had been a little busy. Toshinori looked down at his watch and saw that he still had a couple hours before the conference, so he decided to go for a little walk. Toshinori left his large home and flew for the malicious energy, pure evil incarnate. Grimacing, Toshinori knew it was finally time to avenge his master's death, and put an end to All for One.
As he approached, Toshinori discovered that All for One was hiding in the mountains, secluded not incredibly far away from where they had been training. To think, All for One had chosen to hide so close to one of the strongest men on the planet. The definitive strongest, thanks to that new transformation of his. Just as he made it to the outer part of the base, alarms blared and silos slid open from the terrain around them. Missiles launched towards him as soldiers mobilized, aiming for the Symbol of Peace eagerly. The likely well-trained men fired, hitting their mark with great accuracy. Unfortunately for them, it didn't do much. The bullets bounced off as Toshinori glanced at the missiles coming for him with a smirk.
Moments before one got to him, Toshinori did a flip in the air, avoiding the explosive expertly. He caught another one carefully and threw it towards the headquarters, aiming right for a weak point in the inner walls. Toshinori flew in a circle, guiding the remaining missiles around in a round motion. Then, Toshinori prepared to throw each one rapidly. Turrets placed on the walls began to fire as men and women made it to their stations, but Toshinori hurled the rockets at each one, effectively stopping the defenses. Toshinori landed on the ground and bolted for the hole he had made in the wall, diving down into the lower levels with a great finesse despite his large frame.
Landing gracefully, Toshinori managed to startle a man made of purple mist, who immediately disappeared on the spot before he could be grabbed. Then, Toshinori felt as if something was off. Just why had this place been so poorly defended? Even without his newly enhanced abilities, the soldiers and weaponry wouldn't have put a dent on him. Toshinori's eyes widened as he realized All for One was deep underground, and the upper levels were all a trap. Toshinori slammed a fist into the ground, revealing a second layer to the underground fortress, hundreds of feet below. Toshinori leapt down just as the top floor blew up in spectacular fashion. His cape billowing in the wind generated from the explosion, Toshinori descended down, seeing an army of people, either aiming guns or gifted Quirks of All for One's.
"All Might," All for One, his suit as immaculate as ever, said. His white hair looked a little frazzled, as if he had been panicking. To his left was the misty man, who seemed to serve some sort of purpose to the mastermind. "I wish I could say that it's good to see you," All for One spat with a scowl. His red eyes gleamed with malice.
"I'd say the same to you, All for One," Toshinori barked. All for One's expression suddenly turned to one of confusion.
"You're… Quirkless?" All for One realized, apparently able to sense that One for All had completely left him not too long ago. "How? How did you manage to survive my defenses?" All for One asked. "Better yet, how the hell can you fly!?" All for One shouted in alarm. Toshinori couldn't help but smile at his nemesis' bewilderment.
With a laugh that shook the basement to the bunker, Toshinori said, "There's a lot you don't know about the world. For example," Toshinori flew down right next to All for One before he could think about what to do, "You're gonna pay for what you did to master." With a punch packed with his grief for his fallen predecessor, Toshinori sent All for One flying into a group of his soldiers, who began to fire on Toshinori once they realized what had happened. Toshinori plowed right through the force down here, knocking out each soldier with ease, including the misty man, who required an attack to his metal neck brace.
All that was left was All for One, gasping for breath after the blow. All for One scurried backwards, terrified of Toshinori's strength. "Please! Spare me! I can be good! I can change!" All for One begged, getting onto his knees, which only served to enrage Toshinori.
"Did Nana beg? Did she ask to be given that chance, too?" Toshinori quietly asked, remembering the days when Nana had taught him to smile constantly, to inspire hope into the people of the world. "You don't deserve such mercy," Toshinori said, rearing back a fist. All for One gulped, knowing this would be his end.
"Toshinori!" a familiar voice shouted. Toshinori looked over, seeing Raditz and Goku standing there. "You can't seriously be considering killing this guy, right?" Raditz asked. "I know you hate him or whatever, but if I'm worth a second shot, don't you think that you can at least let him live?" Raditz asked. Raditz knew of much worse than All for One, if the stories he had told were true. He would be the one to know who to give a second chance to. Toshinori lowered his fist.
"Good. Now, come on. We might be having a visitor wake up soon," Raditz said, flying out of the now body-filled basement with Goku, and Toshinori followed behind. But first, he did need to have that conference. The others could handle Vegeta.
