Happy New Year Everyone! Sorry for the wait. It's been a crazy couple of months. I also got sick, and my asthma got really bad. Taking care of an almost one year old is a lot of work plus planning a birthday party for next month, but I had to try and get another chapter out for you guys!

Do Not Own Criminal Minds :(

Mistakes are mine

Penelope was at home and completely exhausted. For three days she was focusing on feeding and changing the twins.

Oh, and avoiding Alvez at all times.

Of course.

Because she was so mature.

Shut up!

Having twins was a lot of work. She was blessed that she didn't have to worry about money or ask for days off. She didn't have to worry about reporting to work or worry about things that would be stressing her out if she had a regular everyday job.

Pamela and Amy offered to stay for a little bit and help with the twins.

"Are you sure?" Penelope asked.

"Of course." Pamela said.

Penelope sighed in relief. "Thank you so much because I don't want Kaden in the house all the time helping me. I want him to have fun and act his age. Plus, I don't want Alvez helping me during breastfeeding." She said in a low voice.

"Why do you let him stay here when he visits to see Kaden if he makes you feel uncomfortable?" Amy asked confused at the situation.

"It's not that he makes me feel uncomfortable…" Penelope said.

"They have a lot of history." Pamela explained.

"Look Amy, I appreciate you staying here and help me with the girls, but I don't want you to worry about Alvez. He's a good person and loves Kaden and the kids so much."

"He loves you too Pen." Pamela said.

Penelope ignored her sister. "And you can be yourself around him. Whatever you see or hear I apologize in advance."

"They're a little bit intense." Pamela chuckled.

"Very," Penelope added.

Amy smiled and nodded. "Got it."

Kaden walked into his mother's room and smiled. "Hey ma how you are feeling?" he asked as he sat next to her.

"I'm good baby just exhausted." Penelope smiled at her son and kissed his shoulder.

"Dad leaves tomorrow. He has a big case coming up." Kaden said.

"Okay." Penelope said unsure what her son meant.

"He's spending time with Genevieve and Áily right now."

Penelope looked at Pamela and Amy.

"We'll leave you two alone." Pamela said.

"Can you take Oliver and Isabel next door. They have more fun there and that way they won't be bored while I feed the girls." Penelope told Pamela.

"Of course." Pamela smiled and left with Amy.

Penelope looked at her son.

"Mom, Genevieve and Áily are his."

Penelope sighed. "Kaden…"

"You're acting as if they are not. Or at least you're acting as if you don't want them to be." Kaden said seriously.

"Sweetie, it's not that I don't want him to be their dad, it's just hard to be around him and not think of the past. I know I shouldn't because it's the past, but I do, and I can't help how I feel."

"Mom you love him. Why are you being so difficult?" Kaden asked sadly.

"You my son are too smart for your age." Penelope barely smiled.

"Changing the subject okay." Kaden kissed her cheek and stood up. "At least talk to him before he leaves tomorrow. He might be gone for more than a month or two and those are his daughters and it's killing him that he has to leave them and us."

Penelope sighed and nodded. "You know sometimes I wonder who the parent is and who is the child here." She teased.

"Love you mom." Kaden chuckled and walked away.

Damn he definitely was their son when they were his age.

Always telling it like it is.

,,,,,,,,,,

Alvez was in the girls' nursery when Pamela walked in. "Hey."

"Hey, Penelope is ready to feed them. She wants you to bring them to her."

Alvez nodded and picked up Genevieve while Pamela picked up Áily and handed her to him. "Thanks." He said and walked over to the master bedroom.

"Good luck."

,,,,,,,,,,

Penelope walked out of her bathroom when she saw Alvez walk into the master room. "So, you leave tomorrow."

"Yep," Alvez said.

Penelope nodded and went to seat on the bed against the headboard and pulled the tank top down exposing her breast and looked at Alvez.

He didn't even know he did it, but he licked his lips when she exposed her breast and handed Áily to her and he sat on the bed. He watched as Penelope guided Áily to her breast and their daughter started to drink the milk. He didn't know why Penelope was letting him watch but he was very thankful because it was something, something he had missed the first time around.

"You know why I'm letting you watch right?" she asked softly.

He nodded. "I think I do. Thank you."

"You welcome." She smiled and looked at her daughter eating. She caressed her daughter's face and watched as she ate. This bonding time was her favorite part, and, in a way, she was sad that she didn't get to have this with Kaden as well.

"Did you breastfeed him?" Alvez asked cautiously.

Penelope looked at him. Wow it was like he could read her mind. "No, I didn't. I wish I had though. I wished I had done a lot of things differently." She admitted softly without looking at him.

"So, in a way we are doing this together for the first time."

"Yea… but not together." She quickly added.

He scoffed. "We're here right now."

"Yes but…"

"I get it." He spoke.

She could tell he was hurt but at the same time she didn't pay much attention because she had been hurt as well. Immature she knows but oh well. A few minutes later, Áily was falling asleep against her, so she pulled her breast away from her daughter's mouth. "Switch," she said.

Alvez grabbed Áily and gave Genevieve to Penelope. As he burped Áily, he watched Penelope feed their other daughter and he loved it. He enjoyed the way they bonded over this small but important part in the after birth.

"Luke stop looking at me like that," she said softly without looking at him.

He sighed. "I can't Penelope. You look so beautiful while you feed our daughters." He said and noticed how she flinched a little when he said 'our' daughters. He wanted to talk to her about that but right now knew wasn't the right moment and he was leaving for New York the next day, so he would have to wait until they saw each other again.

Penelope looked at him for a minute and as she looked at the way he naturally held Áily and burped her it brought tears in her eyes. She did feel guilty. She didn't want to get emotional in front of him, but it was hard not to.

"What's wrong Penelope?" he asked worried he did something wrong.

She cleared her throat and shook her head. "Nothing." She whispered.

When Genevieve finished eating, Alvez watched as Penelope covered her breast and started to burp her. "You're a really good mom."

"Thank you." She smiled softly.

He barely smiled back and caressed Áily's back as she had fallen asleep.

Genevieve had fallen asleep, and Penelope stood up from her bed. Alvez followed her out the master bedroom.

,,,,,,,,,,

After putting the girls down for the night, Penelope and Alvez walked towards the kitchen where Pamela, Amy and Kaden were talking and eating. Emery was already asleep.

Kaden's cell rang. "Hey babe, yea I'll see you in five." He hung up and put his plate in the sink.

"Was that Annie?" Penelope asked.

"Yea. I'm meeting her down at the beach."

"Okay please be safe and have fun," Penelope said.

"I will." Kaden left. "Dad wake me up before you leave." He said as he left through the back.

"Good night guys. See you in the morning." Pamela said as she and Amy made their way to the guest bedroom.

Penelope started to clean the kitchen trying to avoid Alvez, but she could feel his eyes on her every move. She grabbed the rag and started to rinse the dishes, so she could put them in the dishwasher when she felt him behind her. She closed her eyes and sighed. "Luke."

"We need to talk," he whispered. He was close to her but didn't dare touch her because they both knew what would happen if he did.

"No, we don't," she whispered back as she resumed cleaning the dishes and putting them in the dishwasher. As she bent down to do that, she grazed against him and gasped when she felt his arousal. "Luke really…"

"Penelope," he said a little bit more huskily.

She turned around and put both her arms out on the counter and waited for him to say or do something.

"We have to talk about us." He said and moved closer to her but still leaving less than half an inch between them.

"There is no us." She said and was about to cross her arms, but he held them on her side, and she gasped when he pressed against her. "Please…" She begged but instead she saw one of his hand move to her face and caressed her cheek.

"Baby," he whispered and was about to lean in until she pushed him away.

"We can't keep doing this." She said looking at him with tears in her eyes.

"Penelope," he moved closer to her again and she let him. "We are crazy about each other." He explained as he gripped her hips.

"Stop it. We are constantly fighting. There's so much resentment. Its not healthy." She said frustrated and walked away from him and locked herself in the master bedroom.

"Damn it." He cursed and walked towards Kaden's room where he was staying since the guest room was occupied.
