Charlotte woke up with a dull headache, she quickly hid her empty bottle and went to the bathroom.

JJ woke up early, Emily and Lily still asleep in bed. She was proud of Lily for coming to them instead of cutting again. JJ decided to check up on Charlotte after the events of last night, she wanted to make sure she was there. She walked into Charlotte's room to find her in the bathroom. She took a look around, her room was a mess, clothes were everywhere, her school papers were everywhere, she was a mess. JJ started to pick her clothes up and throw them into the laundry. As she was pulling clothes from under her bed, she finds Charlotte's stash. JJ was in shock. She didn't know why Emily and JJ didn't notice that Charlotte was also hurting. Charlotte came out of the bathroom to find JJ standing there with her empty bottle of vodka. She stood still, not knowing what to do. She wanted to run, so she did. She quickly ran past JJ, down the stairs, and out the front door. She didn't know where she was going, but she just needed to be out of there. She ran down the street and headed towards the park. JJ, a soccer player herself, was not far behind, and quickly caught up to the young girl.

"Char! It's okay, you're not in trouble! I just wanna know why"

The young girl looked at her, not replying, "please, just talk to me"

"Why? You wouldn't care anyways"

JJ was confused by this, but she soon figured it out. Emily and JJ have been so worried about Lily, that they paid no attention to Charlotte.

"Oh Char, you know we love both of you equally, Lily just has a lot going on at the moment. You have every right to feel mad at us, but drinking your problems away is not the solution" JJ pulled the young girl into her arms as they sat on the side of the curb together. JJ sat and thought to herself, 'how did she let this happen? Emily and her were profilers, how did it get this bad?'

"Come on, let's go home"

When they got home, Emily was in the kitchen making breakfast.

"Hey, you two, you are just in time for breakfast!"

JJ shot Emily a look and Emily immediately knew something was wrong.

"Here, Char, why don't you go brush your teeth first"

"and shower" JJ added. Charlotte rolled her eyes, she knew she was in trouble.

"What is going on?" Emily asked.

"Char has been drinking. I don't know how we didn't see this. We are literally FBI profilers, we should have been able to see this coming" JJ said.

"Yea, but we are never home and these girls, they have been through so much, you can't blame yourself" Emily replied.

"We need to help them, we need a solid plan for both girls because they are both hurting and our jobs are not helping the situation" JJ said.

"Yes, I agree, they need some form of consistency in their life right now"

"Should we both take a break for a little while?" JJ asked.

"I think that would be what's best for our family"

Once the girls were down for breakfast, the 2 girls began to eat quietly after an awkward night.

"Last day of school! You two excited?" JJ asked.

The two girls continued to eat quietly.

"Let's go on a trip, get our minds off of things for a bit" Emily said, trying to give the girls something to look forward to.

"We were planning a trip to Virginia Beach, since you two haven't been " JJ suggested.

"Don't you two have to work?" Charlotte asked.

"We will take off" Emily said.

Charlotte was surprised by this because they never cared about anything other than their work. Other than that, the girls were excited, they have always wanted to go to the beach.

"When are we going?" Lily asked.

"2 more weeks we need to finish a couple things and be back in time for your trial"

Lily's mood immediately changed at the mention of her trial. The two profilers noting this.

"Ok, let's get you two to school!"

The school day went by like any other school day. Everyone wanted to be out of there, Lily's mind was on other things, Charlotte was sad that she won't be able to see her friends everyday. Once the two got home, they went shopping with as promised by JJ and Emily. The two got a few summer clothes for the beach and they went home.

Two weeks later

The past two weeks couldn't have gone any slower. The two have been so excited to see the ocean for the first time. The 4 of them began their road trip to Virginia Beach. The ride was filled with fun and games and when they arrived they quickly got settled into the hotel. The next day the 4 got ready for a day at the beach.

Lily getting dressed into her bikini. She quickly covered herself with a towel and ran into the bathroom as she saw Charlotte walk in. She couldn't let anyone see her like this, scars littered her thighs and arms and stomach. She decided to go to JJ for help.

"JJ, I-" Lily said as she walked into her and Emily's room.

"What is it? What's wrong honey?"

"I can't wear a bikini or any swimsuit for that matter!"

"Why?"

Lily stared at JJ and soon JJ realized,

"Oh, it's ok honey, your scars show how strong you are" JJ said.

"Well not to me they don't, I'm weak!" Lily screamed at her.

"Let's calm down now, how about we cover it up with some makeup?" JJ suggested, going through her bag to get some concealer.

"What if I get it wet?"

"It's supposed to be waterproof" JJ smiled.

Once the 4 finished getting ready, they headed down to the beach. Charlotte and Lily ran towards the water, desperate to touch the ocean water. The two ran in as the waves crashed against their skin. The water was cold against their skin, but it felt good with the hot summer air. Emily and JJ watched from a distance and smiled as they watched their girls have fun and have a normal, fun life for once. They soon joined the two in the water and the 4 splashed around for the rest of the day.

Lily and Charlotte hoped this vacation would never end, and for a moment she truly saw the value in family. Emily and JJ were her family now and her and her sister were safe.

The beach was going well, they spent most of their days at the beach and went and walked around town at night.

"Come on let's rent that 4 person bike!" JJ exclaimed.

The family rode up and down the boardwalk till they finally found a spot to sit for a while and watch the sunset.

"It's so pretty!" the girls exclaimed as they all sat on the sand watching the sunset.

"Let's just stay here forever!" Emily said. They girls giggled as they sat together just being a regular family.

"I've gotta pee, I'll be right back" Charlotte said.

"I can come with you, " Emily said as she started to get up.

"No, you don't have to. The bathroom is just over there, you can still see me. I don't want you to miss the sunset." Charlotte got up and left before the two could say anything.

Once Charlotte reached the bathroom, she felt someone quickly pull her inside. Once she looked at who it was, she froze. It was their old foster father, Robert, the one that raped both her sister and her.

"I've been watching you two. You and your sister have grown to be very nice-looking ladies. And I see you live with two women now? You two seem to like them," he smirked. Charlotte finally being able to push away from him. She wanted to run or scream but she physically couldn't.

"Leave.. leave us alone, " Charlotte croaked.

"No! You two better not talk shit about me at all or I swear I will make both of your lives hell. Who knows, maybe I'll do one of your moms, " Robert said and he quickly left.

Charlotte quickly processed what happened and what he said. Everything was happening so quickly, her mind was racing. This can't happen now, there is so much going on with Lily, her trial and her still trying to heal from everything that happened within the past few months, seeing Robert will just add onto the stress. Plus, she didn't want Lily to know that he raped her too. She had to protect her family especially Emily and JJ. They can't be brought into this, they are already dealing with so much. Lily protected her back then, it was her turn to protect her sister and her new family.

She quickly cleaned her face to erase any evidence of crying. Her arm was a little sore from him grabbing it, but other than that she was fine. She walked back to the beach trying to act normal, but Emily and JJ knew something was up.

"You okay?" JJ asked noticing the redness in her eyes, she could tell that she had been crying.

"Yea"

The two profilers decided to just leave it so that they could enjoy their last night at the beach.

Hello again! I'm hoping to update a little more, I'm not sure if I can with school starting back up again :( but I will see what I can do! This is definitely a shorter chapter, but I just wanted to update to let y'all know that I am still working on this.
