Tara is enjoying her hot shower, relaxing her sore muscles as the hot water runs down her body when she hears the shower door open and then a second later close behind her. She smiles slightly when she feels two familiar hands wrap themselves around her waist.
She leans against his chest 'You're up early' she says as he leaves soft kisses on her neck and shoulders 'Ready for round two already?' she teased.
'You know, I am always ready, babe' he said and reached forward, turning the shower knob the other way. Tara shivered as the cold water ran down her body.
'Besharam' [Shameless]she scolded.
'Hey, we've got a family to make, and there's only one way to do that. And I am dedicated to the cause' he replied and turned her around to face her.
'Ohh, you are just so thoughtful' she whispered, throwing her arms around his neck and leaning up to a kiss.
...
He pours himself a cup of coffee and turns to Tara 'When you get back, maybe you and I could take a trip'
'Hmm' she mused and sipped on her coffee.
'Somewhere cold. Keep each other warm and focus on our efforts to expand... Our child will be a hell-raiser' he hugged from behind.
'Uhhhuhn, No sir. Not in my house. My house has rules' She turned around and placed her hands on her hips.
'Oh, so you plan on being exactly like Mommy Hitler. Huh?' He smirked.
'Hey! Don't mock my mother. But with a few modifications, yes.' She smacked his arm and added.
Before he could reply, their conversation was cut short by the doorbell. He huffed 'You know when we have a baby your father won't be the only one interrupting our conversations'
'Why is he always early?' she whined.
'Your mother is out of town on business. The man is probably bored out of his mind' he snorted.
She nodded in understanding 'Stall him, I'll go fetch my jacket' she said and ran upstairs.
'Come on in, Sir. It's always open' He shouted at the door.
The older man walked in with their newspaper in one hand and his walking stick in the other.
'You know you don't have to ring the bell and wait at the door all the time. It's always open' he said as he poured the man a cup of coffee.
'Good morning to you too. And you know you shouldn't leave your front door unlocked like that, right?' The older man retorted.
'You realize your daughter is 'The Techie', right? She is got this place hooked with the best security system in the world. You don't have to ring the bell every time.'
'No thank you. I don't want to walk into you doing 50 shades of freaky to my daughter' The older man grimaced and made a disgusted face.
His son-in-law rolled his eyes in response and huffed. 'So, Air Chief Marshall Siddique has been gone for long now, how are you doing?' he knew just how to get on his father-in-law's nerves.
The older man clenched his jaw and raised an eyebrow 'I am doing just fine'
His son-in-law smiled at his small victory. Before he could annoy him anymore Tara walked in, dressed for work.
'Come on Old Guy. We're going to be late' she told her father.
'You're not even going to let me finish my coffee?' her father asked
'Come on' She pressed.
'Keep her safe out there' her husband told her father.
'Keep her safe? She's supposed to keep me safe' her father laughed and got up to leave.
Tara chuckled 'Yeah, It's just a meeting. I'll be fine'
When her father was gone, her husband pulled her towards him 'Be safe. Don't die'
'I'll try' she smiled 'And when I get back, we've got work to do'
'So now having sex with me is work.' He teased and pulled her closer.
'Not with that sweet ass it's not' she slapped his ass. 'Come on, leave me. I've to go' She wiggled out of his arms and left.
...
'Ms. Johnson' Mycroft greeted as he entered the bakery. Tara and Grace were having a serious conversation but they stopped when Mycroft entered. 'Am I interrupting something?' he asked when he noticed their awkward behavior.
'No, Mr. Holmes. I was just leaving' Grace replied without missing a beat. She scrambled nervously around the bakery to gather her stuff and leave. Mycroft eyed her carefully as she gathered her stuff and left for the day, noticing the subtle changes in her body language. She bid them goodbye and left.
'Does Ms. Johnson think she is pregnant?' Mycroft asked Tara as soon as Grace closed the door behind her and was gone.
Tara stared at him wide-eyed for a moment before realizing there was no point lying about it. He would see right through it. She breathed out in defeat and replied 'She doesn't think she is pregnant she knows she is. She took a home pregnancy test and told Michael. He broke up with her and told her he wanted nothing to do with her or the baby'
Mycroft had noticed the pregnancy test sticking out of Grace's bag too. 'Huh... That was a stupid mistake' he said as he sat down and waited for Tara to finish clearing up.
'What was a mistake?'
'Ms. Johnson should have taken a proper pregnancy test from a licensed professional before telling her partner. Considering that she has a rare kidney disease and she has been very stressed lately about going back to school, I wouldn't be surprised if her symptoms were only stress-induced. It could very well be a false positive. You should tell her to go to the hospital' he said as he absent-mindedly typed on his phone.
Tara was surprised at how much Mycroft had noticed. He always noticed the people around him and deduced them but unlike Sherlock, he chose not to share it. 'I will' she replied. She was a little relieved by the possibility. She cared for Grace like she was her little sister. She knew Grace wanted to go back to school and she had a tough time with her finances because of her kidney disease, medication was very expensive. She wouldn't be able to raise a child and go back to school. Tara had already decided to give Grace a good raise to help with the situation.
'Did Ms. Johnson's partner also refuse to provide financial support if she were carrying his child?' he asked without looking up from his phone.
'Yes, I guess. But that is not the concern. A woman can raise a child on her own but a child needs both a mother and a father.'
'That is ridiculous. Not everyone is cut out to be a parent. Though it is not exactly very noble of Ms. Johnson's boyfriend to run away from his responsibilities. He should at least provide for the child he fathered. Take responsibility for the child even if he doesn't wish to be in its life'
'So, you think it's okay if he throws money at her face and leaves her. No one knows how to be a parent, Mycroft. They learn' she said angrily as she came and plopped herself on the chair across from Mycroft.
'I don't understand why we are arguing about someone else's problem' he said without looking up from his phone.
She snatched the phone from his hand and slammed it on the table. 'What happens if I get pregnant?' she asked looking straight at him.
'I would expect you to take care of it' he said without even thinking, immediately realizing that was probably not the best way to put it. Or he should have just shut up.
Her eyes looked like they would fall out of their sockets 'Expect me to take care of it?! Get rid of it. Is that what you mean? Are you serious?' she couldn't believe him. She didn't know why she expected him to act differently about it. It was obvious to her but she was still angry. 'Get out' she told him in her rage.
'Excuse me?!' Mycroft gaped in shock.
'GET' she said angrily, pointing to the door. She was seething with rage.
Mycroft got up and left, he couldn't believe she was throwing him out for speaking the truth.
'Bloody Ghadhedo' [Ass] she muttered after he left.
